How to Use the Interactive Map The Interactive Map both shows the location of key points on the map, and doubles as a collectible checker.

  • Click an icon on the right side to show all the pins of a specific type, or click the magnifying glass button to search for a specific pin by name.
  • Click a pin on the map to see its name and description, and a relevant picture or video if available.
  • From here, click Mark as Acquired to indicate that you've gotten a collectible already. This will change its icon on the map to show that it has been collected, and add 1 to that pin type's Counter.
  • To undo this, click on the same pin and click Restore to unclaimed.
  • To check how many pins you have marked so far, check the Counter in the bottom left, and click the icon that looks like a checklist to see counters for all pin types.
  • If the collected pins start to get in the way, you can hide them all by clicking the green Show Pins button on the left side.

Team Up With a Player Who Already Unlocked Them

If you have a friend who has already unlocked every waypoint in the game, it's easy to unlock them all by simply teleporting after them as they head around the map. By our testing, this should be doable in 20-30 minutes if you both teleport efficiently.

  • Join a party with your friend who has already unlocked all of the Waypoints. It should be ok for either you or them to be Party Leader.
  • Teleport to Kyovashad. There should be a purple portal there which leads to your friend's location.
  • While you go to Kyovashad, your friend should teleport to a Waypoint you haven't been to yet.
  • Go through the portal to reach the Waypoint your friend went to and unlock it.
  • From there, follow step 2 again while your friend follows step 3 again.
  • Follow step 4 again.
  • Repeat the process until all Waypoints are unlocked.

Diablo 4 - Unlock Waypoints Fast.png

Congratulations! You'll end up with a map like the one above where you can easily visit new areas as required by the campaign, reach World Bosses and Legion Events that spawn, and go around the map as you like.

As it's not possible to powerlevel a player from level 1 to 100 easily in Diablo 4, this is one of the best methods to help a starting player get into the game fast. Even Waypoints which are normally story-locked can be unlocked in this way, making it immediately useful.

How to Teleport to a Party Member's Location

Waypoints are portals that appear on the map at fixed locations in towns and major locations. These Waypoints, once activated, allow you to travel instantly between locations. Furthermore, discovering new Waypoints earn you 20 Renown each.

To activate a Waypoint for the first time, simply step on it. From now on, you'll be able to select this Waypoint from the map and travel to this location, even if you're in a dungeon !

How to use Diablo 4 fast travel and all Waypoint locations

Diablo 4 fast travel, Waypoints, Return Town Portals, and more explained

Diablo 4 fast travel

Diablo 4 fast travel and unlocking Waypoints are crucial to getting around the world of Sanctuary because it's huge and you'll be spending exploring. Many of the essential merchants and services you need to regularly access in Diablo 4 are found in just a few major towns and capital cities, so the last thing you want to do is spend ages trekking between towns in search of what you need. It'll also speed up completing quests as you can fast travel around different areas to get closer to where you need. Below, we've laid out the locations of Diablo 4 Waypoints , explained how Return Town Portals work, and everything else you need to know about fast travel in Diablo 4.

How to fast travel in Diablo 4

Diablo 4 fast travel

First of all, you need to unlock fast travel in Diablo 4 by unlocking Waypoints, which can be found in various settlements you discover while exploring Sanctuary - they are round, stone plates in the ground with circle and triangle markings. They initially appear on your map as a gray icon, but if you activate them by standing on the plate and following the prompt, they turn bright blue and can be used. The first Waypoint you can unlock is in the center of Kyovashad. You can fast travel to any of the Diablo 4 Waypoints you've unlocked by opening the map and selecting a Waypoint to begin teleporting to it. For a quick and easy Diablo 4 fast travel method, you can tap D-Pad Down, which will begin teleporting you to the nearest capital – that's Kyovashad for Fractured Peaks and Cerrigar for Scosglen, for example. You can cancel any fast travel teleporting by moving your character or attacking, in case you triggered it by accident.

Diablo 4 quest log How long is Diablo 4? Diablo 4 Faded Plaques How to repair gear in Diablo 4 How to leave a Diablo 4 dungeon

Whichever way you fast travel in Diablo 4, you'll emerge from a Return Town Portal at your destination. This portal will persist while you stay within the Waypoint's location, and by going back through, you'll be teleported to your previous location. This is handy for quickly getting back to where to left off, be it in the wilderness or in a dungeon, so you can continue exploring, especially if you travelled in from an area that doesn't have any nearby Waypoints. However, if you leave the confines of the town you fast travelled to then this Return Town Portal will close, preventing you from getting back to your previous location.

All Diablo 4 Waypoints

Diablo 4 fast travel map showing all Waypoints

On the map above you can see all of the Diablo 4 Waypoints marked that we've discovered so far, representing every possible fast travel point bar a couple that are locked behind Strongholds or other gated areas. In total, there are 35 Diablo 4 fast travel Waypoints divided across each region, so here's a list of them all with the capital cities in bold :

  • Fractured Peaks: Kyovashad , Nevesk, Yelesna, Margrave, Menestad, Bear Tribe Refuge, Nostrava
  • Scosglen: Cerrigar , Firebreak Manor, Tur Dulra, Marowen, Braestaig, Corbach, Tirmair, Under the Fat Goose Inn
  • Dry Steppes: Ked Bardu , Farobru, Fate's Retreat, Hidden Overlook, Ruins of Qara-Yisu, Jirandai, Alzuuda, The Onyx Watchtower

Diablo 4 Fast Travel Explained - All Waypoint Locations In Fractured Peaks

Discover all the Waypoint fast travel locations that are available in Fractured Peaks.

By Jason Rodriguez on June 1, 2023 at 9:58AM PDT

The world of Sanctuary has been ravaged once more by demonic hordes, and it's up to you to turn back the tide. Still, with larger zones to explore, you might be wondering if there's a way to speed things up. Here's our guide to help you with the Diablo 4 Waypoints fast travel locations in Fractured Peaks.

Diablo 4 Fractured Peaks Waypoints and fast travel locations

There are seven Diablo 4 Waypoints or fast travel locations found in Fractured Peaks. Each town or hamlet has several vendor NPCs and those that give out sidequests.

These are the available Diablo 4 Waypoints in the open beta.

Here are the details for the Diablo 4 Waypoints and fast travel spots in Fractured Peaks:

  • Kyovashad - This is the capital of the region, which happens to have multiple NPCs with mechanics and functions. You'll reach this place within 10 minutes of starting the campaign. You can learn more in our Kyovashad city hub guide .
  • Nevesk - Speaking of starting the campaign, Nevesk is the first town you'll visit during the opening stages. Its denizens will turn into corrupted folk, and you'd have to leave the place. However, once you've activated the Kyovashad waypoint, the Nevesk waypoint will show up on your map. You'll likely return here, too, if you're planning to unlock Sorcerer Enchantments .
  • Yelesna - You'll head to Yelesna as part of the main quest. In fact, you'll probably use this fast travel point often due to nearby objectives.
  • Nostrava - This is a fairly unique Diablo 4 Waypoint in that it's a Stronghold. Basically, it's a demon-infested town that you need to cleanse of corruption. Only then will it get unlocked as a fast travel point or hamlet.
  • Menestad - This is a small hamlet in the northwestern section of the zone.
  • Margrave - Another small hamlet; this one's to the south.
  • Bear Tribe Refuge - Surprisingly enough, the northeastern portion of the region only has this as a fast travel point.

Diablo 4 – All Waypoint Locations

Image of Matthew Fuller

The world of Diablo 4 is huge, and traversing it can be a bit of a chore when you are trying to progress the story or grind for loot. Thankfully, players can use a helpful feature called Waypoints to get around the map much faster.

Waypoints are the fast travel system in Diablo 4 , allowing players to teleport to towns and villages across Sanctuary. These can be unlocked as you travel the world and clear certain Strongholds . Wherever you find a Waypoint, you will often find some merchants nearby, such as a Blacksmith and Jeweler, allowing you to repair, upgrade, and sell your gear and sort your gems and sockets.

All you need to do to activate a Waypoint is interact with it, and it will begin to glow blue. Once this happens, it will be available for you to fast travel to at any time. Finding Waypoints is also a good source of Renown , as each Waypoint activated will net you 20 Renown points, helping you progress your standing in that region.

Players who make a seasonal character will need to reactivate Waypoints with each new character they make. Thankfully, their locations are displayed on the map right from the beginning of your seasonal character’s journey.

Where to find waypoints and how to fast travel in Diablo 4

Here's how to get around Fractured Peaks that little bit faster.

A Diablo 4 character stands atop an unlocked fast travel waypoint.

Dry Steppes

While it's fun to give yourself Diablo wrist and run around the Diablo 4 beta's fairly substantial map, you could always discover some waypoints and fast travel. There are several waypoints to discover in Diablo 4, usually nestled within a city or village, and they'll let you fast travel to these destinations. You can also fast travel from anywhere on the map, even from dungeons, which is handy if your inventory is full after gathering all that sweet loot.

In this guide, I'll show you where to find the waypoints and how to fast travel from anywhere on the map. If you're jumping into Diablo 4 soon, be sure to check out our guides on how to emote , how to solve the Secrets of the Spring riddle , where to find all the dungeons and how to survive Sanctuary .

Diablo 4 waypoints

There are five regions in Diablo 4, each with at least half a dozen waypoints. To find them, look for the icon on the map that looks like a triangle inside a circle, except for the one in each region that looks like a little building as it's the capital.

To unlock a waypoint, interact with it and it'll then glow blue. Once active, you can fast travel within the city or village you're in, to other waypoints and from the wilderness. There are also specific PvP areas called the Fields of Hatred, which I've listed below, as the location of some Strongholds.

  • Nevesk
  • Kyovashad
  • Menestad
  • Bear Tribe Refuge
  • Yelesna
  • Margrave
  • Nostrava
  • Firebreak Manor
  • Cerrigar
  • Braestaig
  • Corbach
  • Tirmair
  • Marowen
  • Tur Dulra (Stronghold)
  • Under the Fat Goose Inn
  • Farobru
  • Ked Bardu
  • Hidden Overlook
  • Fate's Retreat
  • Jirandai
  • Alzuuda (Fields of Hatred PvP area)
  • The Onyx Watchtower (Stronghold)
  • Ruins of Qara-Yisu (Stronghold)
  • Tarsarak
  • Denshar (Fields of Hatred PvP area)
  • Iron Wolves Encampment
  • Altar of Ruin (Stronghold)
  • Gea Kul
  • Imperial Library (unlocks during Act 6)
  • Zarbinzet
  • Wejinhani
  • Ruins of Rakhat Keep: Inner Court
  • Backwater
  • Vyeresz (Stronghold)
  • Tree of Whispers (unlocked during the campaign)

How to fast travel

To fast travel, you can either open up your map and select a waypoint, or you can open up a portal to the capital. This is particularly useful if you are in a dungeon as you can quickly stash your stuff—or sell or salvage it —then go back through the portal to where you left off.

To open a portal, press T (or down on the D-pad) and you'll appear at the capital with a portal opened behind you.

How to Fast Travel in Diablo 4: All Waypoint Locations

Post Cover Image

Players can fast travel across the enormous open world of Sanctuary in Diablo 4, cutting out a lot of potentially dangerous backtracking.

Fortunately, the process of fast traveling is incredibly simple in Diablo 4. Here is everything you need to know.

How to Fast Travel in Diablo 4

Players can fast travel by unlocking and then selecting Waypoints on their map (to bring up your map, press M or the View Button/Touchpad on controllers .)

Waypoints are typically found in cities and towns and are identified as blue circles on the player’s map.

Alternatively, players can create portals by pressing T or down on the D-Pad, which will take them back to the nearest town and allow them to travel back to their original location when they’re done.

Unfortunately, there are no other fast travel points outside of these options. So, make sure you’re well prepared before venturing out into Sanctuary’s wilderness.

  • Travel to the Kyovashad Waypoint and exit Kyovashad using any of the two exits leading into Sarkova Pass.
  • From the lower exit, follow the big road straight Northwest.
  • From the upper exit, hug the Western edge and follow the road to Menestad.

Bear Tribe Refuge

  • Travel to the Kyovashad Waypoint and take the Eastern exit into the Frigid Expanse.
  • From here, travel to the very Eastern edge until you find the road with two forks.
  • Follow the one that leads into the Seat of Heaven and take an immediate left.
  • Keep going directly North; you’ll find the Bear Tribe Refuge Waypoint there.
  • From the Kyovashad Waypoint, take the Southwestern exit into the Desolate Highlands .
  • Keep going and once you reach the Southern edge, start traveling Westward to find the Nevesk Waypoint.
  • Go South from Kyovashad and take the first left into Dobrev Taiga.
  • From here, travel South, hugging the Western edge.
  • Take the second-last left turn and head directly East to find the Margrave Waypoint in the Margrave settlement.
  • Start from the Nevesk Waypoint and take the lower Northeastern exit into the Pallid Glade.
  • Then, take the second right and then an immediate left.
  • Ignore the first large opening to your right and take the next right path. This will lead to Nostrava.
  • This Stronghold has several objectives, including destroying five Demonic Effigies and dealing with enemies like Fiery Succubi and Tainted Sandstalkers .

  • Once you enter, immediately go West and stay on the upper Western path. At the very Northwestern edge of the Highland Wilds , you’ll find the Waypoint.

Dry Steppes Waypoints

Dry Steppes also has eight Waypoints that I discovered and used as fast travel, as shown on my Waypoint map.

  • Travel to the Tur Dulra Waypoint and make your way South into the Deep Forest.
  • Take the Southeastern exit into Dry Steppes and take the second right to find the Waypoint.
  • From Farobru, travel South onto the large road leading into the Kotama Grasslands .

The Onyx Watchtower

  • Take the Northeastern exit from the Ked Bardu Waypoint into the Khargai Crags.

  • This Stronghold requires you to defeat several waves of bandits and four lieutenants: Thidrek, Crocus, Talida, and Hagrin. You must also destroy critical structures, such as support beams, tents, and supply carts. You can see these as diamond markers on the minimap, while the lieutenants can be seen as yellow circles.
  • After defeating them, you’ll need to take on Captain Ezmin .
  • After defeating him, you’ll receive 120 Renown  and a new Waypoint.

Fate’s Retreat

  • From the Onyx Watchtower Waypoint , exit into the Khargai Scrags through the Northeastern exit.
  • Travel from the Onyx Watchtower into Khargai Crags . Then, keep traveling Northeast until the road ends.
  • Travel directly East until you enter Chambatar Ridge through the top-right exit.
  • Immediately take a right, and you’ll find the Waypoint.

Hidden Overlook

  • Complete to access this Waypooint.
  • Travel to the Fate’s Retreat Waypoint and go South until you reach the shore.
  • Now go Southeast, aiming for the Southern exit that leads into the Accursed Wastes.
  • Now, take an immediate right into Jakha Basin.
  • Take another immediate right and then left.
  • Go North, and you’ll find the Waypoint.

Ruins Of Qara-Yisu

  • From the Hidden Overlook Waypoint, head back into the Accursed Wastes through the upper or lower Western exits.
  • Travel South toward Qara Yisu.
  • In Qara Yisu, you’ll find the Stronghold, and a disembodied voice will call you. This is when you’ll need to start your first task: destroy three Infernal Spires.
  • You can find the Spires as Skulls on the minimap. You’ll need to fight Cursed Yisunis as well as demons.
  • After destroying them all, you’ll need to defeat Utulku , the final boss of Qara Yisu. You’ll need to fight his Cursed Yisuni minions before you take him on.
  • After the fight, you’ll receive 120 Renown and unlock the Ruins of Qara-Yisu Waypoint.
  • From the Ruins of Qara-Yisu Waypoint, exit into the Accursed Wastes .
  • Exit the Accursed Wastes through the lower Western exit into the Untamed Scarps.
  • Take the Southern exit into Kehjistan. You’ll find the Jirandai Waypoint along the way, close to the exit.
  • From the Jirandai Waypoint, take the Northwestern path and keep going into the Fields of Hatred.
  • Traverse the Fields of Hatred until you reach the lower Northwestern exit into the Scarred Coast. You’ll find the Waypoint along the way.

Kehjistan Waypoints

In Kehjistan, I found six different Waypoints on my Waypoint map.

  • From the Jirandai Waypoint, travel Southeast into the Scouring Sands .
  • Enter the largest expanse of the desert and head toward the dead center of the Scouring Sands. You’ll find the Tarsarak Waypoint right there.
  • Travel to the Tarsarak Waypoint and take the lower Southwest exit into the Fields of Hatred.
  • From here, travel Southwest, hugging the Western edge .
  • When the path takes a sharp turn to the Northwest, go along and keep going North.
  • You’ll find the Denshar Waypoint just to the East of the exit into Caldeum.
  • Travel to the Denshar Waypoint and take the exit into Caldeum.
  • Take the lower Southwestern exit into the Southern Expanse .
  • Reach the docks at the very Southwestern shore of the Southern Expanse to find the Waypoint.

Imperial Library

  • Complete a majority of Act 6 to unlock this area.
  • Go to the Denshar Waypoint and enter Caldeum .
  • Take the second right and travel North into the main area of Caldeum.
  • From here, traverse your way to the very Northern edge of Caldeum to find the Waypoint in the Imperial Library.

Altar of Ruin

  • From the Alzuuda Waypoint, exit the Fields of Hatred and enter the Scarred Coast.
  • Then, take the Southern exit into the Amber Sands.
  • From here, hug the Northern edge until you reach an area leading into the Altar of Ruin.
  • The Stronghold here has you locating an important Keystone , or three, held by Elite bosses.
  • These Elite bosses are Mayze Boltrend, Heinrik Taintspur, and Sephuz Boltrend.
  • In the end, you’ll need to fight Dark Cardinal Maldul . But first, you’ll need to fight his minions: the Annihilator and the Unholy.
  • After defeating the boss, you receive 120 Renown and the Altar of Ruin Waypoint.

Iron Wolves Encampment

  • Begin from the Altar of Ruin Waypoint and exit the area via the Southwestern exit into Amber Sands.
  • Travel Southwest until you reach the Southwestern exit into the Ragged Coastline .
  • Once inside, take the first left and then another left.
  • Travel West to the very edge until the path forks South. Take the Southern path and the first right followed by another right to find the Waypoint.

Hawezar Waypoints

Hawezar features six Waypoints, shown on my Waypoint map.

  • Travel to the Margrave Waypoint in Fratured Peaks.
  • Then, take the Southern exit into Dismal Foothills .
  • From here, keep following the path South until it opens up.
  • Then, travel South to the center of the Foothills.
  • You’ll find the Waypoint directly above where it says “Dismal Foothills” on the map.

Ruins Of Rakhat Keep: Inner Court

  • Travel to the Wejinhani Waypoint and the very South of Dismal Foothills.
  • Exit into the Ruins of Rakhat Keep .
  • Follow the path as it goes South, then West.
  • Take the first path that goes North, and you’ll find the Waypoint in the Inner Court.
  • From the Ruins of Rakhat Keep: Inner Court Waypoint, head Southeast into Fethis Wetlands.
  • Stay on the Eastern edge and head South into Toxic Fens.
  • Keep going South and take the first path East to Vyeresz .
  • This Stronghold requires you to clear three Serpent’s Eye Pedestals. These will unlock three doors.
  • Return to the Serpent’s Eye Door, and you’ll be charged with a cultist mob.
  • Enter the Serpent’s Eye Door, and you will eventually find Dianthus.
  • After completing this Stronghold, you receive 120 Renown and unlock the Vyeresz Waypoint.
  • From the Vyeresz Waypoint, enter the Toxic Fens through the Southern exit.
  • Then, travel directly East, ignoring any exits into Blightmarsh.
  • Once you reach the Eastern edge, you’ll find three exits. Take any of the two exits into Forsaken Coast .
  • Reach the Eastern coast and travel South along it.
  • The Backwater Waypoint is beyond where the coast juts out.

The Tree Of Whispers

  • Travel to the Wejinhani Waypoint and exit the Dismal Foothills through the Writhing Mire’s western exit.
  • Travel along the Western edge until you reach the Northern end.
  • Then, travel East until the path goes South.
  • Go South and take the first right.
  • Now, take the second right and keep going north to find the Waypoint.
  • Travel to the Tarsarak Waypoint and take the Southeastern exit into the Umir Plateau.
  • Keep going East until you come across a path that bends South and curves into the center of the Umir Plateau.
  • Take this path and, ignoring the first three right turns, stop when the path diverges into two Northern paths and one Southern path.
  • Take the second Northern path, and you’ll find yourself at the Zarbinzet Waypoint.

Personal Thoughts

Waypoints surely provide a faster way to travel through Sanctuary in Diablo 4. I was getting by just fine without them during my playthrough. But as I unlocked more and more areas and had to do a back and forth with some quests, I eventually had to unlock the Waypoints . Finding all these is tedious. However, the strategy I used was to find as many as I could during my first run through the region.

On the bright side, finding all of the Waypoints, even the ones that I didn’t specifically need, was surely fun and exciting. I especially loved the Strongholds as they gave me quite a challenge and rewarded me with both Renown and a new Waypoint. I hope my Diablo 4 Waypoint map was useful to you and you’ll use it to find all the Waypoints in Sanctuary.

All Diablo 4 Waypoint Locations – How to Fast Travel

Fast travel is a feature that many RPG players are used to by now. From RDR2 to Honkai: Star Rail and Diablo 4 this feature has been present in many forms but with the same goal – to get you quickly from point A to point B. The vast open worlds of today’s games require these systems as players would lose too much time traveling in any other way.

Even though some games will ask you to buy in-game portals or spend some other sort of currency to travel, Diablo 4 doesn’t require anything. Fast travelling is free and easy to use. Hop into our article to find out how to fast travel via the numerous Waypoints in Diablo 4.

How to fast travel in diablo 4.

Travelling around in Diablo 4 is much easier than in its predecessor, Diablo 3. First of all, from the early quests of Act IV you will get access to horse-riding which will significantly increase your mobility throughout the map. Secondly, the Waypoint system is neatly organized so you can hop on from one part of the map to another swiftly.

There are more than 30 Waypoints in Diablo 4 and you can travel to each one of them from every point on the map. The only requirement is that you have discovered and activated them previously. When you want to fast travel in Diablo 4 all you need to do is open up the map, click on a Waypoint you’d like to go to and confirm that you want to travel there. You character will appear at the selected Waypoint and will leave a teleport behind him as well in case you need or want to go back.

Where are All the Waypoints in Diablo 4?

As we mentioned there are more than 30 Waypoints around the Diablo 4 world and if you want to get around quickly we assume that you want to discover all of them as soon as possible (I know I would). Below you will find a detailed map for all Diablo 4 regions with their Waypoints shown.

Diablo 4: All Waypoint Locations in Hawezar

Travel in Hawezar need not be a hassle; find and activate all waypoints for easier travel in Diablo 4.

For a series constantly focused on the battle against evil, the latest entry, Diablo 4 , still retains much of the core gameplay formula. And that means plenty of combat and walking to explore the lands of Sanctuary. However, this time around, the world is significantly larger and denser, so players will have to get used to traveling more than ever.

Do not despair, however, as there is obviously some help coming from the developers at Blizzard Entertainment. There's the option of getting a mount to speed things up, and then there are the waypoints located all around the world. These spots are invaluable for those looking to fast travel from point to point, and if the objective is to activate all Hawezar waypoints in Diablo 4 , read on for all the important information.

Hawezar Waypoint Locations in Diablo 4

Unlike many other regions in Diablo 4 , Hawezar has only six waypoints , which is on the lower end of the scale. While it would not be a problem if the region were smaller, that is not the case. Nevertheless, getting all the waypoints activated will still be tremendously helpful.

With Zarbinzet being the hub city of Hawezar, it can be quite a distance away, depending on which direction players come from. Heading southeast from Kehjistan is the easiest way; if not, it will take a long walk southwest from Fractured Peaks to get to the location.

Services include:

  • Weapon Vendor
  • Armor Vendor
  • Amulet/Ring Vendor
  • Purveyor of Curiosities

Located in the southern part of Hawezar lies Vyeresz. Before it can be used as a fast travel point, there is a need for combat, as players must clear the Stronghold here. After doing so, it makes traveling to the lower parts of the region much more convenient, plus there's a Blacksmith around to help salvage and improve Diablo 4's gear .

Ruins of Rakhat Keep: Inner Court

A key story location, players need not worry about missing out on this waypoint. More interestingly, the presence of three different dungeons in the immediate area makes this a good place to farm some XP and get better gear drops from the evil denizens and those powerful Aspects .

The northernmost waypoint in Hawezar, visit Wejinhani as early as possible so that there is easy access to the wide expanse of space at the top end of the region.

The Trees of Whispers

The Trees of Whisper play a vital role in the main plot of Diablo 4 , and as such, players will definitely be activating this particular waypoint. In addition, it also functions as an endgame activity for those that have completed the main campaign, so be sure to revisit to continue enjoying the game.

The final waypoint in Hawezar is at Backwater, a Stronghold by the water. The enemy numbers are great here, and it pays to be more prepared to take on this Stronghold. Be successful, and players will earn a useful fast travel point for the southern part of the region.

With that, all six waypoints of Hawezar will be added to the growing collection to make travel less of a hassle. This will also make it easier to complete the many side quests found in the game, and that is exactly what everyone needs if they hope to hit Diablo 4 's level cap .

Diablo 4 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Get around the map with ease by discovering all 7 waypoints in Diablo 4.

Google News

Waypoint locations in Diablo 4 are shown as glowing points of interest, also referred to as Fractured Peaks . They’re found in almost every main area in the game. While most can be unlocked by simply approaching them, certain waypoints require you to complete specific objectives in order to get access to the waypoint.

  • Waypoint locations in Diablo 4 are known as Fractured Peaks and can be used for Fast Travel.
  • The first waypoint you’ll come across is in Kyovashad, the capital of the region.
  • The next waypoint you’ll discover is in Nevesk, one of the major towns encountered early on in the game.
  • While following the main quest, you’ll discover the Yelesna Waypoint.
  • The Menestad waypoint is found in the northwest region of the map.
  • Directly south of the capital, you’ll find the Margrave waypoint.
  • The Bear Tribe Refuge waypoint is the only waypoint in the eastern regions of the map.
  • The final waypoint is in Nostrava and requires you to clear the area by killing multiple enemies before unlocking the waypoint.
  • You can fast-travel to any of the waypoints regardless of where you are, making it easy to get out of dungeons where you’ve acquired too much loot.
  • Alternatively, you can open up a portal to the capital and travel there.

I have given an overview below of how you can unlock the waypoint:

  • Head to Nostrava and investigate the village.
  • Enter the church with a red skull icon inside it.
  • Fight off the Negala and Crazed Villagers.
  • Investigate the Villagers’ Homes by entering the house in the southwest of the village and destroying the Demonic Effigy
  • Go inside the marked houses on the map and destroy the Effigies inside them while also defending yourself from demons that’ll try to attack you.
  • Head back to the Chapel and fight off against Negala, Torvala, and Kozira.
  • After defeating all enemies, interact with the Wanderer’s Shrine to unlock the waypoint.

How To Fast Travel In Diablo 4

There are two major methods for Fast Travel in the game.

  • The first method is to open your map, simply select a waypoint, and travel to it.
  • The alternate method is to open up a portal to the capital (by pressing T or down on the D-pad).
  • The great thing about both of these methods is that you can use them regardless of where you’re currently stationed.
  • That makes it useful for cases where you’re in a dungeon and need to stash away your loot.

With that, you know all about the Diablo 4 Waypoint locations and each of their locations. They can be useful for getting around the map with ease. Each of the waypoints is located such that you can get to almost any objective quickly if you pick the right waypoint. There’s still much more that you can discover in the game, such as getting a wolf pet or learning about the different editions .

Independent Travel to Moscow and St. Petersburg

My wife and I have traveled independently to many European countries and, after reading many of the comments in this forum, feel like we may be able to do so in Moscow and St. Petersburg as well, although we feel somewhat less comfortable than the other countries where we have traveled in Europe.

My biggest question is how much we will miss by visiting the main sites without a tour guide. In the other European countries we have visited on our own we have been comfortable and satisfied with the level of knowledge we have gained by studying and visiting on our own, although we believe a tour guide or tour company in any country would normally be able to provide greater insight than visiting a site on our own, but about in Moscow and St. Petersburg?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Unless you speak at least some Russian and read the alphabet it would be difficult without a guide. Very few signs in English especially in Moscow. Also not too many people speak English there.

I visited St Petersburg last Autumn for a protracted period , and did not find it anymore daunting than any other European city . As Ilja says , learning the Cyrillic alphabet is a big plus . I also found that it was fairly easy to grasp . It will , among other things , enable you to read signs with relative ease . I would answer the main part or your question ( about tour guides ) thus - I am not enamored of tour guides or tours. While I only use a tour under duress ( A sites rules prohibiting an independent visit - ie Glasgow School of Art , Municipal House in Prague , etc ) . Doing your own preparation and homework is the best way , in my opinion . My wife and I ventured through St Petersburg with nary a concern ,and made two day trips outside of the central district ( one was twenty five miles away , and no English speakers in sight ) Figuring out the logistical details , did not present any difficulties . While I never use tours , I am an inveterate eavesdropper , have done so many times , and find , that on balance , the information that they impart is fairly elementary . If you want greater detail , they are unlikely to supply it . I also prefer to go at my own pace , not being rushed and being able to dwell on things that most other visitors barely give a passing glance . If you are interested , let me know . I would be happy to provide you with information that will enable you to travel independently

Thank you, Steven. I am encouraged by your comments and feel the same way you do about tour groups. We are very much willing to prepare in advance and learn the basics of the Cyrillic alphabet to help us have a better experience.

I would be very interested in learning more about your experience in Russia and receiving any additional information you can provide on independent travel there, starting perhaps with obtaining the visa.

I am not opposed to hiring a private or small group guide for a specific site or for a day trip outside St Petersburg and Moscow, but, like you said, I much prefer the freedom of staying at places as long or short as I want and seeing the sites that interest me most. For example, neither my wife nor I are big into shopping, yet most tour itineraries leave afternoon time for just that. Not interested!

Please provide whatever you may feel would be helpful for us.

Russ , I see you are quite near San Francisco - you can start by looking at the VISA procedure , it's fairly straightforward . Since there is a consulate in San Francisco - look here http://www.consulrussia.org/eng/visa-sub1.html

And here - http://ils-usa.com/main.php

Having always traveled independently, we thought we could do a better job than any tour. How misguided (pun intended) we were. Now that we have had the experience of having someone native to the area walk us around and explain things through a personal perspective we realize how much we missed. For St. Petersburg I highly recommend http://www.peterswalk.com/tours.html . This is not a traditional guided tour, but an opportunity to receive some orientation to the area as well as insight into the "Russian soul". I think if you did this upon arrival the rest of your time would be much more meaningful. We really liked the http://www.pushka-inn.com . The location is superb (just around the corner from the Hermitage square), the rooms lovely, the included breakfast at the restaurant next door ample and overall an excellent value. We used this company to get our visa: https://www.passportvisasexpress.com/site/san_francisco_customer_service Note that it costs about the same for a 3-year visa as a one-year, and you never know if you might want to return within that more extended window of time. It is not cheap, so factor that into your planning.

If you like traveling without a guide in other countries and find this satisfying, the same will be true in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Of course it's not either/or - you can certainly take a guided walk or boat tour, for instance.

I cannot emphasize enough the importance of learning Cyrillic if you're going on your own. The book I used was Teach Yourself Beginner's Russian Script, which was great. It breaks down the alphabet into letters that are the same as English, letters that look the same but are pronounced differently, etc. It's out of print, but you can get used copies on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Teach-Yourself-Beginners-Russian-Script/dp/0071419861/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1459701143&sr=8-2&keywords=teach+yourself+russian+script

Russia is indeed a bit more "foreign" than say, Italy. However, in Moscow and St. Petersburg, I found enough English to be able to get by. Many restaurants had English menus and/or English speaking staff, for instance. This was most emphatically not true in Vladimir and Suzdal (two cities in the Golden Ring outside Moscow). I went with my sister, a Russian speaker, and if she hadn't been there, I would have been in big trouble. So, if you want to see places outside these two big cities, use a guided tour (even if just for that part). Also, Moscow and St. Petersburg are huge cities. Coming from New York, I wasn't intimidated, but those not used to a megacity may not be so cavalier (even I found them overwhelming at times, especially Moscow).

I found both Lonely Planet and Rough Guide to be helpful, and both to have various errors. Look at both, buy whichever one has a more recent edition, and then be prepared to have to discard some of the advice therein. Also, these places change more quickly than places in Western Europe. Be very careful of outdated advice. For instance, I was there in 2001 and 2010, so I won't give you any specifics on getting a visa - that changes constantly.

Just as a teaser, two things I saw and loved that I doubt would be included in any escorted tour are the Gorky House in Moscow (an Art Nouveau wonder) and the Sheremyetov Palace in St. Petersburg (it's now a museum of musical instruments, and the decor is amazing, particularly in the Etruscan Room).

Thanks for all the good advice. Any additional thoughts are welcomed.

One of history's seminal works pertaining to Russian history and culture and a MUST for anyone contemplating a visit or simply interested , is this fine work from 1980 - http://www.amazon.com/Land-Firebird-The-Beauty-Russia/dp/096441841X

This is about you and not about Petersburg. Do you like guided tours? We don't and didn't find that a guide added to our experience in China where we did hire private guides mostly for the logistics; it was easy to have someone drive us places. But once at a site, we didn't need the guide. I felt the same way about our 9 nights in Petersburg. We did hire a guide for the trip to the Catherine Palace again for the ease of logistics for us Olds. Here is our visit: https://janettravels.wordpress.com/2016/01/23/an-easy-trip-to-the-catherine-palace/ There are also snapshots of the Church on Spilled Blood in this photo journal. Having someone pick us up at the apartment and get us in without line ups and shepherd us through the palace steering clear of the tour groups was lovely. But we didn't need commentary because we can read and prepare.

You certainly don't need a guide for the Hermitage (we spent 4 days there), the Russian Museum, the Kazan Cathedral or Church on Spilled Blood or the Faberge Museum. We enjoyed a number of self guided walking tours including a couple from Rick Steves guidebooks. We took the canal cruise suggested by RS that had an English commentator. I would not take one without that as you will be totally clueless. The commentator was not all that good but at least we had some idea what we were seeing. So for people like us who like to do our own thing and can read a guidebook and don't particularly like to be led about, a tour is not needed. If you enjoy tour groups, then go for it. Petersburg is easy to negotiate. It helps if you can read the cyrillic alphabet and it is also useful to have the google translate ap on your phone. We found ourselves translating packages in grocery stores with it and the occasional museum sign or menu. I have one food I need to avoid and so it was handy to have the translator to talk with waiters (I could either show them the sentence, or play it for them or play it to myself and then repeat it to the waiter -- that all worked well)

Dear Russ, I cannot help you with Moscow, but about four years ago, my husband and I went to St Petersburg on our own. But, we did use a private guide for 4 half days. We both feel that our guide absolutely made our trip (we stayed 6 or 7 nights). We used a company owned by Tatyana Chiurikova, www.tour-stpetersburg.com I cannot say enough good things about her and our experience. I emailed her and we worked out a schedule/ sights that was tailored to our interests. She also offered some recommendations, which we took. The guide will meet you at your hotel. And frequently, at certain places, with the guide, we were able to skip the long entrance lines. We had an half day driving tour of the city (car, driver, & guide). You are taken to & go in places such as Peter & Paul Fortress, some of the cathedrals, etc. We had a half day with the guide at the Hermitage which ensured that we would see the major sights there. And, of course, you can stay after your guide leaves or return another day. Also, we had the guide for Peterhof (a must & go by boat) and Catherine's Palace. I hope that you will go to the website. As I said, our guide made our trip. I am positive that we would have missed quite a bit on our own everyday. And I'm sure we would have wasted a lot of time trying to get to various place. This was the best of both worlds, a guide where needed and plenty of time on our own. Whatever you do, I'm sure that you will love St Petersburg! Ashley

I am curious about the lines as we encountered no lines on our trip -- but it was in September. We got tickets for the Hermitage at machines and skipped those lines and our guide for the Catherine Palace which was our only guided experience (as noted before, chosen for the logistics of getting there) had arranged tickets and we didn't have a line, but then we also didn't see lines. We did not find lines at any other site.

Both Moscow and St Petersburg I've done on my own, that is together with the Dear Partner. I can't remember any problem getting where we wanted to go. The Metro systems are well signed, and with a little exercise and patience you can recognize the station names. With a good map and a good guide - we had the Rough Guides - that part of the logistics is solved. The language is a major problem, but the usual tricks of pointing, looking helpless, and making a joke of it all do wonders. I would hate to be led by a guide, but for others it is a comfortable thought.

We also did both cities on our own. I found the DK Eyewitness guide for Moscow has the best map. I used the one from our library (kept the book at home). Took the smaller RS book for St. Petersburg ( his book on northern cities). His map and restaurant ideas were all good. We also downloaded the Google maps in our Android Samsung tablets/phones for both cities and then could get directions to any place we typed in. The blue ball guided us everywhere. I'm sure we missed somethings by not having a guide, but we just enjoy walking around and getting a sense of a place. If you like art, The Hermitage is great. We went 3 times and still missed alot. In St. Peterburg we stayed at the 3 Mosta which we loved (quite and not far from the Church of Spilled Blood.) We also loved the Georgian food in both cities. There's a great Georgian restaurant near the 3 Mosta hotel. We're now in Belarus- very scenic. Enjoy your trip!!
