In May, BMW will host an amazing six-day experience in Germany, where BMW M drivers and enthusiasts will have the adventure of a lifetime. Starting in BMW's homeland of Munich, where up to 100 BMW owners will take delivery of their new M cars in the BMW Welt, the M Power Tour will then take participants on a 300-mile tour of Germany's countryside on the way to the Nürburgring—the famous Green Hell!—and three action-packed days of racing at the M Festival with over 400 fellow BMW Motorsport fans.

The legendary Nordschleife will be the site of the main event with the 43rd running of the 24 Hours of the Nurburgring. Take your chance and go to the Green Hell to experience BMW Motorsport at its best. 

M Day for European Delivery Customers  

• On May 25, 2016, the BMW Welt will be hosting an exclusive delivery experience for all customers taking delivery of an M model. M customers will have the opportunity to join fellow M enthusiasts from all over the world, in a day that is dedicated to the most powerful letter in the world.

The BMW M Power Tour returns for 2024 with 10 consecutive weeks of racing action! This year’s collaboration between BMW and iRacing features a varied selection of BMW M Motorsport cars competing across the world’s top tracks on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with prizes on the line for the top three drivers in the overall standings at season’s end.

This week’s BMW M Power Tour event features the BMW M4 GT3 at Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (also known as Portimão). Races will launch every two hours starting with 0:00 GMT on Tuesday. Held on the small but twisty road course at Mission Raceway Park, the annual M Power Tour offers a stress-free half-day of fun behind the wheel of BMW ’s most high-performance and track-focused models. The “M” of BMWs M lineup stands for motorsport  as the M Division was born from BMW’s racing program back in 1972. Through a safe and educational day exploring the performance capabilities of the M cars on a racetrack, the M Power Tour highlights BMW’s M car lineup in an appropriately rev-happy environment.

The M Power Tour begins by breaking the two most complicated sections of the track into separate learning exercises. Participants get a chance to try each section from behind the wheel of each BMW M car, all while receiving turn-by-turn guidance from a BMW instructor via an in-car radio. Repeating the same set of corners multiple times allows one to become comfortable with the incredible performance of these cars. From the physics-defying 567hp X5M (an SUV), to the 600hp M6 coupe, to the legendary 575hp M5 sedan and finally the razor-sharp 425hp M4 (the two-door version of the M3), each model was an assault on the senses and offered the M experience expressed in a wide array of vehicles.

After the cornering sessions, I jumped into the wonderfully bolstered front seat of a Silverstone Metallic M4, complete with a 7-speed dual clutch transmission, carbon ceramic brakes and a screaming titanium exhaust. Eager to run full laps of the track, our group of five cars was encouraged to match the racing line set by our instructor, who was piloting a hard-to-miss Fire Orange M3. With each successful corner, the pace became steadily more rapid and the M4 begs you to push a little harder and brake a little later, all while rewarding steady and progressive inputs at the controls.

Easily reaching 170 kilometres-per-hour in 4th gear at the end of the main straight, my best efforts were nowhere near the limits of the M4’s capabilities. It’s hard to believe that a road car, capable of managing all of life’s daily errands, could be so comfortable and capable on a racetrack. This latest generation of the M3/M4 is the first to use a turbocharged engine, opting for a small and lightweight twin-turbo three liter V6. Torque delivery is fantastic and turbo lag is almost non-existent, with only a small wave of additional power coming on as you whizz past 6000 rpm on your way to a giggle-inducing redline at 7500.

With the wail of that titanium exhaust still singing in my ears, my laps were over. For those looking to truly experience the racing DNA of the BMW M cars, the M Power Tour is the perfect mix of track day and test drive.

The event was attended by Alejandro Echeagaray, CEO of Import Markets of Latin America and the Caribbean at BMW Group Latin America; Agustín Lama Verdeja, CEO of Magna Motors; Avelino Rodríguez, president of Magna Motors, as well as special guests and specialized media.

Munich. BMW M Motorsport is entering the 2024 Automotive Gaming season with three BMW M teams. This year, the drivers will again compete for titles in the most prestigious and top-class racing series in the virtual motorsport world on numerous relevant platforms. While BS+COMPETITION and Team Redline are already heading into their fourth season alongside BMW, a new team, MOUZ, is making its debut as part of the BMW M Motorsport family. 

The Esports team MOUSESPORTS (MOUZ), founded in Berlin (GER) in 2002, is one of the most successful gaming organisations in the world and now enriches the versatile virtual BMW M Motorsport line-up. The internal introduction of MOUZ took place at the beginning of the year. In early February, BMW M Motorsport invited its three BMW M teams to a Media Day at the heart of BMW in Munich (GER).

In a convergence of different worlds within the BMW cosmos, in addition to the media production of photo and video material, the drivers and team officials, in the presence of BMW M works driver Bruno Spengler (CAN), were given a tour of the BMW M Motorsport headquarters and the BMW Group's parent plant in Munich, the capital of Bavaria. However, the focus of the event was on fun, as well as the meeting and mutual exchange within the BMW M Motorsport family.

A new exciting project has emerged from the successful collaboration between BMW M Motorsport and the simulation platform iRacing, the BMW M Power Tour. The series is aimed at the large and passionate iRacing community.

Starting in mid-March, over ten weeks, there will be regular racing events from Tuesday to Thursday featuring various BMW M racing cars from the iRacing portfolio. This includes not only the current flagship models, the BMW M Hybrid V8 and the BMW M4 GT3, but also historic icons like the BMW Z4 GT3.

iRacing’s annual partnership with BMW M Motorsport to bring a BMW-exclusive series to the masses is back for 2024 with an all-new format! Cycle through 10 weeks of racing in five different BMW road racing machines, with races launching every two hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. This is a fixed setup series, allowing you to focus on getting acclimated to your changing car every week.

BMW M Power Tour iRacing Okayama

The next BMW M Power Tour iRacing event heads to the fantastic Okayama circuit with the BMW Z4 GT3.

This week’s BMW M Power Tour iRacing event showcases the BMW Z4 GT3 at the Okayama International Circuit in Japan. This iconic racing track is renowned for its challenging layout, featuring a combination of high-speed straights and technical corners that will put the skills of even the most seasoned virtual racers to the test.

Races will be launching every two hours, starting at 0:00 GMT on Tuesday , giving sim racers from around the globe the chance to experience the BMW Z4 GT3 on this demanding circuit.

• 26-28: BMW Z4 GT3 Okayama International Circuit
• 2-4: BMW M8 GTE Red Bull Ring
• 9-11: BMW M Hybrid V8  Suzuka GP
• 16-18: BMW M4 GT3 Autódromo Internacional do Algarve
• 23-25: BMW Z4 GT3 Motorsport Arena Oschersleben
• 30 Apr – 2 May: BMW M8 GTE Brands Hatch GP

BMW M Power Tour, who else got the invite?

BMW North America I just got the e-mail invite and RSVP'd for the Los Angeles event. I'm going on Sunday June 7, 2009 at 1:30pm. Who else is going? Want to set up an M5 meet as well?  

What is BMW promoting at the event, in addition to the M DCT in the M3?

how do you go about getting an invite?  

I have no clue. I got the e-mail from them yesterday and immediately called the phone number. I told them my last name and they already had all my info.  

I haven't seen an invite yet, but I'll join up with the LA people and go.

Bastards didn't invite me. Said I could go with someone who was invited, but I can't drive. I understand not being invited, perhaps not having enough "M" points, but I thought being an M5 owner and expressing interest in the X5M would be enough.  

weird. I think it might be b/c I was a previous M3 owner that I got the invite...  

I got the invite too... Haven't called them yet but probably will tomorrow. If anyone is down for a meet i'm up for it.  

I called and got the "invitation only" response. There is no waiting list or standby list. The operator was going to pass my info on to her superviser to see if there is something that can be done. I told her to mention I have an M6 and an X5 and would be interested in seeing the XM5.

Where is the LA event ?

Unreal. What does a guy have to do to get invited? I've had 5 BMW's, an M3 and now an M5, and I currently have an X5 as well. Oh well, I'm calling and trying...  

It might be too late, but I wonder if registering on bmwusa.com would help.  

I am registered. Well, after several calls to that number, they explained that my dealership is allocated some spots. So I called my salesman, and he hooked me up! June 3rd in SF baby!!!  

Call your dealer. I called my sales guy and he hooked it up for me. BMW said I can bring any number of guests. Only the registered guest will get to drive but there may be some time for the guests to drive as well. In LA it runs on 6/6 and 6/7 pretty much all day. I registered for Sunday so I am planning on stopping by VCR super car sunday in Calabasas for some coffee around 9 AM before I head to newbury park if anyone wants to go. The event starts at 11AM @ BMW.  

Yup, that's the trick!  

I'm going sunday @ 11AM in LA. If anyone wants to go, they can meet me at VCR in Calabasas in the morning.  

M touring Well, now that the event is done, what did you guys think of the new trany in the M3 ?...I went yesterday ( june 4th ) and was quite suprised at how smooth/quick the transmission was compared to the smg in my car.....plus the m3 is sweet too....love that sound....My buddie was with me and liked it more then the new one in the Porsches, so I'll have to try theirs out too...both are nice though:1:

here are some of my pics from the event today. Picasa Web Albums - nlpamg - BMW MPower To... the event was cool, but it was pretty disorganized. they wanted us to drive the M3 in "real world conditions"... which meant "hop in, here are printed directions that comprise the 'course', stay on the 'course' and have fun." lots of people were getting lost, but oh well. I loved how one dude sped up and down the street with a cop right there waiting in the parking lot. I liked the M3, but driving it today (longer than my test drive with it before) showed me that I made the right decision with the M5. I originally was going to get an M3 then made a spur of the moment decision and got my M5, boy am I glad I did. The fit and finish of our M5's is significantly better, for example, the paddles on the M3 feel REALLY cheap. The M3 is raw and loud (I'd venture to say moreso than my old e46 M3) but it doesn't pull as hard as the M5. The DCT was great, I loved the speed and I didn't even have to lift my foot off during shifts. But, the V10 really is superior to the V8 and that's what did it for me. The M3 handled great, but not enough in "real world" conditions to make it that much better than the M5. I loved the sound of the V8, the steering was great, the updated iDrive screen was brilliant, but I still love my M5.

Does everyone think the DCT is just better than the SMG (other than the poor souls who suffer lag with their DCTs)?  

Just did the M Power Tour in Chicago Land @ Autobanh Auto Club (Joliet)! It was awesome! We had a paper invite but were late to register so we decided to check it out anyhow. They are a great group of BMW ambassadors and accomodated walk-ups based on space. The Chicago one was great because we actually got to enjoy the M3s on the closed race track so you could take the car to the limit!. Kudos to BMW for this great event and looking forward to next year w/ the new M5!
