Tour de France 2024 - Etape 13 : Analyse du parcours et des favoris

Présentation du parcours et des favoris de la 13e étape du Tour de France 2024 entre Agen et Pau. Les 165 kilomètres de course devraient aboutir à un sprint massif dans les rues de Pau, ville la plus traversée par le Tour depuis sa création.

Date de l'étape : 12 juillet

Horaire de l'étape : départ à 13 h 30 et arrivée à 17 h 21 environ.

Point stratégique dans la tracée des Pyrénéens, la ville de Pau sonne l'avertissement pour le peloton de la 111e édition que la route va prochainement s'élever. Les sprinteurs profiteront de cette occasion qui leur est donné pour aller lever les bras avant d'enchainer les cols pyrénéens.

Analyse du parcours de la 13ᵉ étape du tour de france 2024 :.

Pas assez proche de l'arrivée, les côtes de Blachon (1.5 kilomètre à 6.9 %) et de Simacourbe (1.8 kilomètre à 6.4 %) ne joueront aucun rôle d'élimination des adversaires les plus lourds.

Descriptif du final de la treizième étape du Tour de France 2024 :

11.3 kilomètres de l'arrivée  : la première marque du final sera marquée d'une pierre rouge en passant de préférence à gauche.

Afin de ne pas trop rétrograder avant une portion descendante, où il sera moins aisé de remontée. La vitesse y étant élevée entre les trains de sprinteurs et leaders se mélangeant.

9.2 - 9.1  kilomètres de l'arrivée  : faire attention aux terre-pleins centraux.

8.3 kilomètres de l'arrivée  : petite préférence pour la gauche sur ce rond-point.

7.9 kilomètres de l'arrivée  : comme chaque zone urbaine, les mobiliers seront vecteurs de risque. Ce qui oblige à une vigilance accrue.

7.4 kilomètres de l'arrivée  : nouveau carrefour giratoire à emprunter.

7.2 kilomètres de l'arrivée  : nouvelle alerte

4.9 kilomètres de l'arrivée  : première sortie et un peloton qui va s'étendre.

4.7 kilomètres de l'arrivée  : rester sur ses gardes en sortie de rond-point pour éviter toute chute bête.

4.4 kilomètres de l'arrivée  : entrée d'un grand giratoire.

4.3 kilomètres de l'arrivée  : sortie dudit giratoire.

4.4 à 2.8 kilomètres de l'arrivée  : sur quasi deux kilomètres, les terre-pleins seront constamment présents. Ce qui au-delà de rendre le final dangereux, compliquera la tâche de ceux désireux de remonter le peloton.

2.5 kilomètres de l'arrivée  : serrer la droite.

2.4 kilomètres de l'arrivée  : long rond-point pour étirer le peloton.

2.1 kilomètres de l'arrivée  : l'embranchement implique un couloir à traverser.

2 kilomètres de l'arrivée  : à ce stage, on peut estimer que les couloirs seront parfaitement dessinés.

1.1 kilomètres de l'arrivée  : tournant à gauche.

900 mètres de l'arrivée  : dernier obstacle à se défaire...

... avant de virer sur la droite pour la ligne droite finale à 600 mètres.

200 mètres de l'arrivée  : les derniers hectomètres seront rapides puisqu'en léger faux plat descendant.

Quel dommage que le vent décide de souffler sur cette étape. Les vignobles d'Armagnac offriront un vent suffisamment puissant pour espérer y voir de l'action. Sa direction d'Ouest-Nord-Ouest pourrait nous offrir des tentatives de bordures. Malheureusement, le caractère mal plat et la traversée de nombreux villages ne sera pas sans compliquer la tâche à toute tentative. En somme, si bordures il devait y avoir cela devrait se résumer à des coups d'épée dans l'eau.

Le timing sera clé pour aborder le kilomètre final. Il faudra savoir profiter des trains adverses pour ne pas être mis trop tôt à l'emploi, aux avants-postes du peloton.

Les favoris de la treizième étape du Tour de France 2024 :

Bon, cette étape est normalement destinée aux sprinteurs. Problème, de nombreux équipiers ont abandonné lors de la journée précédente et de nombreuses formations sont diminuées. Intermarché ne va pas contrôler. Alpecin a perdu Rickaert et Kragh Andersen, Astana n'a plus grand monde. Alors pourquoi pas une surprise? On imagine devant des gros gaziers comme Bissegger, Küng, Rex, Naesen, Stuyven, Campenaerts, Abrahamsen voir même Mathieu van der Poel , qui disait qu'il irait devant si Alpecin n'arrivait pas à contrôler. Pour nous, c'est 60-40 en faveur de l'échappée si du monde tente.

An Insider’s Guide to the Best of Paris’ 13th Arrondissement

A fun blend of old meets new, the 13th arrondissement is an often appreciated district of the city which lies on the rive gauche (left bank- south) of the river Seine. Here’s your ultimate guide to the best things to do in the 13th arrondissement.

The lost River Bièvre

One of the most important things to note about the 13e is its rich history, particularly that pertaining to the lost Bièvre River. It was this waterway that flowed from its source in the Yvelines right up to Paris and through the 5th and 13th arrondissements.

At this time, the 13th arrondissement was not considered a part of Paris proper (due to its location outside of the wall of Philip Augustus) and so it was not privy to the taxes of Paris. This fact, coupled with the river, gave rise to several industries in the area.

For example, from the 1300s, many tanners and dyers set up shop along the banks of the Bièvre on account of the fact that flowing water was vital to their industries. It was also in this area that the Gobelins factory was founded.

Gobelins is important in French history as they dyed rich tapestries for the French Royal Family. Other industries to make use of the River Bièvre included weavers, shoemakers, and launderers.

Unfortunately, the industrialisation of the area led to the overpollution of the river, and so during the 19th-century, the river was covered up and now flows through the Paris sewer system.

Today, there is no real way to follow in the steps of the River Bièvre, safe for a few bronze plaques embedded in the pavement. Places such as Cité Florale are now constructed on the dried up banks of where the river once flowed.

Best things to do in the 13th arrondissement in Paris

Paris is home to a number of secret villages that were once communities in their own right but have since become absorbed into the fabric of Paris itself. One of my favourite is Cité Florale ; a teeny tiny greenery filled area nestled away in the 13e arrondissement of the city…

The micro arrondissement quite literally lives up to its name of ‘Cité Florale’. After all, the area is simply a small city of flowers, bushes, and greenery. Vines, wisteria and ivy trail off the side of the houses.

Yet another micro-arrondissement that’s worth checking out in the 13th is Butte aux Cailles. Highlights of Butte aux Cailles   (translated into English as ‘Quails Hill’)  include plenty of Art Nouveau architecture, countless cobbled lanes, and lots of street art, notably many works by local artist, Miss. Tic.

The Gobelins family were wealthy tapestry manufacturers during the middle ages, and today a popular métro station (metro line 7) is even named after this illustrious family. And located in the 13e arrondissement of Paris, down a little winding lane, you’ll find their former mansion residence, Château de la Reine Blanche .

During the summer months, free tours of the grounds take place on a regular basis. The tours are also held on heritage days throughout September, though if you’re visiting during any other time of the year the château is well worth a look from the outside. 

One of the more unusual little villages in Paris is unfortunately typically closed to the public but can still be admired via its unique exterior. Petite Alsace is located at 10, rue Daviel and is so-called thanks to the fact that its 1912 constructed timber-framed houses are reminiscent of those found in Eastern France

Just across the street from Petite Alsace, visitors will soon stumble upon Villa Daviel, a delightful cobbled impasse that’s open to the public and is characterised by its abundance of greenery.

Much like many other villages of Paris , the road is home to two storey brick houses that differ from the typical Haussmannian architecture that visitors expect to see in Paris. Much like Petite Alsace, the road was opened in 1912.

While wandering around the 13th arrondissement you’ll spy plenty of skyscrapers and modern blocks of flats, Temple Antoiniste (located at 34 Rue Vergniaud) is an unusual building which resembles a small white church and is located in the very heart of the 13th arrondissement.

The place of worship was actually constructed for the religious movement of Antoinism, which is known as the Culte Antoiniste in French. The movement was founded in 1910 by Louis-Joseph Antoine and beliefs of those who follow the religion include a blend of elements of Catholicism, reincarnation, and healing. 

French brocantes are world-famous thanks to their charm and the fact that heading to them feels something akin to a treasure hunt. After all, you never know what you’ll stumble upon next!

Well, Pourquoi Pas? is literally translated into ‘Why Not?’ in English and is an old warehouse turned gallery filled with an eclectic wealth of objects and antique from all over the world. The store is located just across the street from the Temple Antoiniste and is open from 1 PM to 7 PM on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

One of the more unusual hidden gems of the 13e is actually not very easily spied from the roadside. For, hidden behind a fairly tall hedge, and now a part of the Hôpital Broca AP-HP (hospital) private gardens, there lie the remains of the Couvent des Cordelières.

The convent was created at the best of the Marguerite de Provence, a royal, at the end of the 13th-century. At this time, the 13th arrondissement would not have been a part of Paris proper and the convent owned 8 acres of land. In 1796 the land was sold and by 1834, the convent had been transformed into the hospital.

Those in search of one of the most unusual bridges in Paris would be well served by heading to Passerelle Simone de Beauvoir, which is a pedestrian footbridge which crosses the River Seine. The bridge was constructed between 2004 and 2006 and links the 12th and 13th arrondissements.

One of the best things to do in the 13th arrondissement is to stroll around and look at all of the street art. From murals which cover the entire façade of a block of flats to Invader mosaics, there’s no shortage of unique, interesting, and beautiful works of art to discover.

One of the best parts about visiting Paris during the spring is the sheer number of beautiful cherry blossom trees everywhere. And one of the lesser-known spots for enjoying cherry blossoms in Paris is in the 13th arrondissement. Simply head to mail de Bièvre during the end of March/ beginning of April

If you’ve spent any time in Paris during the past few years, then you’ll have seen that the phenomenon of cafés placing giant teddy bears in their terraces has all but taken over the city.

Well, interestingly enough, this phenomenon actually began in the 13th arrondissement. The trend actually began in late 2018 when the  ‘nounours des Gobelins’ (teddy bears of Gobelins) first popped up in the less-touristed area of the 13th district of Paris, before being adopted by other establishments across the French capital.

The 13th arrondissement is not the most popular place to stay in the city (that award probably goes to Montmartre or Le Marais) but it does make a good base for someone who wants to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city centre and who wants to stay in a quieter, more residential neighbourhood. Here are some of the best places to stay in the 13e based on web-reviews and location:

Budget: This low-cost hostel is a stone’s throw away from the Galerie des Gobelins museum and is also pretty close to  Place d’Italie metro station. There are dorm rooms available as well as private rooms for an extra fee. Some rooms have balconies. Check prices and availability here.

Comme promis, le Puerto de Ancares a bouleversé le Tour d’Espagne. Après la victoire de Michael Woods, qui a fait exploser l’échappée dès les premières pentes de l’ascension finale, Primoz Roglic a mis tout le monde d’accord en devançant tous ses concurrents au fur et à mesure de la montée, reprenant près de deux minutes à O'Connor, qui conserve son maillot rouge avec 1'21" d'avance.

Cyclisme Tour d'Espagne : Woods s'impose sur la 13e étape, Roglic fond sur O'Connor

Primoz Roglic a fait un beau rapproché au classement général, lors de la 13e étape, remportée par le Canadien Michael Woods, en solitaire. Le Slovène a repris deux minutes au leader Ben O'Connor.

Le Canadien Michael Woods a remporté vendredi la treizième étape du Tour d'Espagne en faisant la différence dans la dernière ascension de Puerto de Ancares (Galice) pour s'imposer devant le Suisse Mauro Schmid et l'Espagnol Marc Soler.

Le coureur de 37 ans, dont c'est la troisième victoire sur la Vuelta, a accéléré au bon moment à quatre kilomètres de l'arrivée pour distancer ses compagnons d’échappée dans ce redoutable col de première catégorie qui comprenait des passages à 15% ayant causé de sérieux dégâts dans le peloton.

« Je suis aux anges! Je vis une saison difficile, j'ai été malchanceux, eu des problèmes mécaniques, des chutes aux mauvais moments... C'est un bel accomplissement de gagner aujourd'hui. (...) J'ai eu de la chance de prendre l'échappée avec Dylan (Teuns) mon équipier. On s'est retrouvés devant et je savais que ce serait un effort long qui me conviendrait bien dans le final. Cela a été 4 kilomètres très longs tout seul! », a réagi Woods sur Eurosport.

O'Connor en sursis

Deuxième au classement général, le Slovène Primoz Roglic , impressionnant dans ces pentes, a repris près deux minutes sur le leader Ben O'Connor, à nouveau en difficulté.

L'Australien de l'équipe Decathlon-AG2R La Mondiale conserve pour l'instant son maillot rouge avec 1 minutes et 21 secondes d'avance sur le triple-vainqueur de l'épreuve et toujours trois minutes sur l'Espagnol Enric Mas.

Bien placés pour jouer la victoire avant l'ultime difficulté de cette étape vallonée, les coureurs de la formation UAE Emirates Brandon McNulty et Jay Vine se sont fait peur en chutant dans une descente, l'Américain passant en-dessous de la glissière de sécurité pour terminer quelques mètres plus bas. Scottie Scheffler’s ‘very important part’ to bunker play? It features your hands

Scottie Scheffler is in a bunker about 60 to 70 yards away from the hole, and we’ll give away the ending. 

He drops his ball to about 8 feet. 

Stop us if you’ve read this one before, right? The remarkable is predictable from Scheffler as  he’s been all-everything this year on the PGA Tour. Eight wins, including ones at the Masters , Olympics , the Players Championship and the Tour Championship . Statistical brilliance . All of which is meant to say, though, that if the man is offering a tip, you listen, and on a video recently posted to the social-media feeds of one of his sponsors, TaylorMade, Scheffler gave a pair.

First, the video. It’s below, and you should have a watch , and we’ll reconvene with some thoughts when it’s over.

Good stuff. The main subject of the video was long greenside bunker play, and there, Scheffler had five tips for what he labeled as one of the hardest shots in golf. We’ll describe them in the order that they were presented on the video. 

— Scheffler said he tries to hit it like a regular bunker shot. 

— He moves the ball up in his stance. 

— He opens the club up, then grips it. 

— He hits it about an inch or so behind the ball — “but basically,” he said, “I’m just trying to feel that bounce go into the sand and then propel that ball forward.”

— He uses a less lofted club; in his case in the video, he used a club with less loft than a lob wedge. “I’d have to like barely hit behind the ball,” he said of using the lob wedge, “and there’s a high risk of either blading it or coming up way short. When you use lower loft for these longer shots, then it becomes much more consistent.”

On the video, he then hit to about 8 feet. 

But back to the third thought, the one talking about the grip. It was a universal sand thought. On the video, Scheffler said this:

“I open the club up, then grip it,” he said. “That’s a very important part when you’re in the sand — don’t grip it normal and then open it up because your hands will return.”

Understandably, the words “very important part” from a world No. 1 should make you take notice.

The long greenside bunker shot has a reputation of being one of the most difficult shots in golf. But I’ve got good news for you: That’s a false reputation. If you understand the necessary adjustments you need to make in your club selection, setup and swing, you’ll be getting up and down from these spots more than you ever imagined.

These are the steps you need to master longer greenside bunker shots.

1. Weight balanced at address 

One of the most basic aspects of the setup is also one of the most crucial parts of hitting long bunker shots. If you don’t have your weight balanced over the shot, there’s little hope of being successful on any kind of consistent basis.

2. Move ball position forward 

There are certain fundamentals that apply to all your greenside sand shots. The most important among them: You have to have your clubhead make contact with the sand before the ball, so it slides under the ball and exits.

To do this, you need to move the ball position forward of center in your stance and aim to have the club enter the sand in the middle of your stance.

3. Dig feet into sand 

Another common fundamental of all greenside sand shots is to dig your feet into the sand enough to make the soles of your shoes disappear. When you do that, it lowers the bottom of your swing’s arc, which will make the club go into the sand more easily.

Being able to hit and throw sand out of the bunker should come from a good setup. It’s not something you should have to think about — it’s something that should naturally happen.

4. Make a long divot 

We’ve talked a lot about taking a lot of sand so far, but you’ll still need to fight the inclination to lift up. So here’s a swing thought for you: Visualize taking a long divot. This will prevent you from falling back and trying to lift the ball into the air, which will only lead to you catching the golf ball thin.

5. Practice without the golf ball 

It can be very helpful to practice bunker shots without a golf ball. Think about making nice long divots and throwing the sand far with your club.

In my playing days, I became a respectable greenside bunker play, and I did this because I spent a fair amount of time hitting shells out of the bunker using my club. This taught me the right motion. Adding a golf ball was the easy part.

6. Up your club 

For longer greenside bunker shots, one of the easiest and most obvious things you can do is to simply use a less-lofted wedge, like a gap wedge (typically around 52 degrees). The lesser loft on the wedge, the longer the ball will travel with less effort. If you’ve never used your gap wedge from the sand, you may be amazed at the new shot you have in your arsenal.

7. Turn around your body 

If you need more distance and have already clubbed up, think of making a bigger backswing by producing a bigger turn more around your body. This will help produce shoulder turn and a more shallow backswing. This greater turn and more shallow approach will also help your golf ball to travel farther while still letting the club slide under the ball.

8. Square-up the clubface 

Usually for greenside bunker shots, you need to open the clubface, which increases the loft and sends the ball higher — but also shorter. If you’re facing a longer greenside shot from a bunker, simply square up the face so the markings on the clubface are facing more of the golf ball. Use the club as it’s designed and use the bounce to your benefit. [This contradicts Scheffler, though he hits the ball farther than the standard amateur.]

9. Turn through aggressively 

If you’ve made a nice big backswing, it means you’ve created a lot of energy. But all that energy you created will only be turned into speed and power if you use your pivot. If you turn back, you need to turn through.

If you don’t turn through aggressively, you’ll decelerate and catch the ball fat. When you swing through, allow your trail heel to come off the ground. Not only will this help to produce speed, but it will also make it much more likely to have a long divot.

10. Swing with speed 

Along those lines, a greenside sand shot is like a full swing. You don’t just need to make a full swing, but you need real speed like a full swing. This can seem counterintuitive because you are so close to the target, but the sand acts as a buffer between the clubface and your ball. You need energy to generate enough power to propel the ball and sand across the green.

"On a contrôlé aujourd'hui, tout s'est bien passé. On est concentrés sur Jonas (Vingegaard), on court toujours à l'avant pour prendre moins de risques. C'est beaucoup de travail mais beaucoup de plaisir. Wout van Aert a déjà pas mal d'avance pour le maillot vert. Pour le maillot jaune et Jonas, ça se fera à la pédale."

Les classements après la 13e étape

"les conditions météos ont rendu la course très difficile", constate madiot, le classement général, sans changement, warren barguil, contraint à l'abandon : "il y a de la déception" (rmc).

L'ex-champion de France Warren Barguil (Arkea-Samsic) n'a pas pris le départ ce vendredi de la 13e étape après un test positif au Covid-19. Il est l'invité de RMC pour donner de ses nouvelles.

"J'ai passé une nuit très compliquée, avec des frissons et beaucoup de fièvre, ce n'était pas possible de monter sur le vélo ce matin. Il y avait encore beaucoup de choses à aller chercher, il y a forcément de la déception. Je visais l'étape de samedi. J'ai les symptômes d'une grippe, j'ai des frissons de temps en temps. Je ne vais pas pouvoir embrasser ma femme - qui est enceinte - et mon fils en rentrant, c'est ça le plus dur. Je vais prendre 4-5 jours de repos et refaire des tests. Je me sentais bien sur ce Tour, qui est très dur cette année. C'est dur de prendre les échappées, il faut avoir un peu de chance. Les Mondiaux ? Je vais être papa fin septembre-début octobre, c'est important pour moi de voir mon bébé, c'est donc le choix de la raison (de ne pas participer aux Mondiaux, ndlr)", explique-t-il.

Tour de France : "Je suis en peine", Küng 4e de l'étape et encore diminué

Vingegaard reste en jaune.

Six minutes après la victoire de Mads Pedersen, le peloton en termine à son tour. C'est Wout van Aert qui vient prendre la septième place de l'étape.

Au classement général, pas de changement. Le maillot jaune de leader reste sur les épaules du Danois Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma). Il compte toujours 2'22" d'avance sur Tadej Pogacar et 2'26" sur Geraint Thomas. Romain Bardet est 4e.

LA VICTOIRE POUR PEDERSEN !

Le Danois de 26 ans, impressionnant au sprint, remporte la 13e étape du Tour de France entre Bourg d'Oisans et Saint-Etienne ce vendredi. Le coureur de la Trek-Segafredo devance le Britannique Fred Wright et le Canadien Hugo Houle sans trembler. Impérial !

La flamme rouge ! Pas de nouvelle attaque !

2 km - Pedersen très serein

Le Danois semble le plus en forme, il prend le temps d'observer ses deux rivaux alors qu'on approche de la flamme rouge.

3 km - Attaque de Wright !

Le Britannique Fred Wright tente de surprendre ses deux compagnons mais il est aussitôt repris par Hugo Houle et Mads Pedersen.

4 km - Le trio de tête ne perd pas de temps

27" d'avance pour le trio Pedersen-Wright-Houle sur le trio Kung-Ganna-Jorgenson. A moins de se regarder un peu trop, la victoire est promise à l'un des trois hommes de tête.

6 km - Pedersen favori ?

Devenu champion du monde en 2019, vainqueur de la classique belge Gand-Wevelgem en 2020, le Danois Mads Pedersen est le plus gros poisson du trio de tête. Et il est en forme puisque c'est lui qui a attaqué à 12 kilomètres de l'arrivée.

8,5 km - Houle accélère !

A 8,5 kilomètres de l'arrivée au pied du stade Geoffroy Guichard de Saint-Etienne, Hugo Houle fait le forcing en tête. Mais Fred Wright et Mads Pedersen sont vigilants et ne le laissent pas partir.

9 km - Le trio creuse

Sauf grosse surprise, la victoire devrait se jouer entre Pedersen, Houle et Wright. Ce trio compte maintenant 20" d'avance sur Jorgenson, Kung et Ganna.

11 km - Un trio à l'avant

Fred Wright et Hugo Houle sont revenus sans forcer sur Mads Pedersen. On a donc un trio à l'avant. Ils ont 12" d'avance sur Matteo Jorgenson, Stefan Kung et Filippo Ganna. Le peloton est à 2'45".

12 km - Attaque de Pedersen !

Le Danois, champion du monde 2019, est le premier à déclencher les hostilités ! Son attaque fait mal à Ganna !

13 km - Le peloton est battu

Ça ne roule plus en tête de peloton. La BikeExchange doit s'avouer vaincue.

15 km - Toujours pas d'attaque devant

Ça continue de bien s'entendre à l'avant entre Ganna, Jorgenson, Wright, Küng, Pedersen et Houle. Personne ne s'attaque, tout le monde collabore. Un gros boulot qui permet de conserver 2'15" d'avance sur le peloton.

16 km - Mas de retour dans peloton

Après un petit souci (mécanique ?), Enric Mas réintègre le peloton, bien aidé par ses équipiers de la Movistar. Aucune inquiétude pour le grimpeur espagnol, neuvième du classement général.

20 km - L'échappée résiste

Les six hommes de tête (Ganna, Jorgenson, Wright, Küng, Pedersen et Houle) comptent maintenant 2'15" d'avance sur le peloton toujours emmené par deux-trois coureurs de la BikeExchange. Ça s'entend bien à l'avant, et ça devrait se jouer la victoire.

23 km - La victoire va se jouer devant

Ça sent bon pour l'échappée, qui va gagner son bras de fer avec la BikeExchange ! 2'26" d'avance sur le peloton à 23 kilomètres de l'arrivée à Saint-Etienne.

28 km - L'échappée tient bon

Quel boulot des six hommes de tête ! L'écart stagne autour des 2'30" entre l'échappée et le peloton.

Ganna, Jorgenson, Wright, Küng, Pedersen et Houle pourraient bien se jouer la victoire.

34 km - Frayeur en tête de peloton

La BikeExchange roule très, très fort... et se fait peur. Un de ses hommes en tête de peloton passe tout près d'une grosse gamelle dans un virage. Il a évité la chute de justesse.

L'accélération des BikeExchange a permis au peloton de revenir à 2'30" de l'échappée. Et ça provoque des cassures avec certains coureurs distancés.

38 km - 3 minutes pour l'échappée

Il faut souligner le sacré numéro de Ganna, Jorgenson, Wright, Küng, Pedersen et Houle. Ces six excellents rouleurs ne lâchent rien, ils font le forcing et comptent trois minutes d'avance sur le peloton.

43 km - La BikeExchange met en route

Tiens, tiens, la formation australienne BikeExchange se décide à prendre les commandes en tête de peloton. Objectif : revenir sur l'échappée pour viser la victoire avec Michael Matthews ou Dylan Groenewegen. Un sacré défi puisque le peloton a 3'31" de retard sur l'échappée.

44 km - Simmons lâché

Il n'y a plus que six hommes à l'avant : l'Italien Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadiers), l'Américain Matteo Jorgenson (Movistar), le Britannique Fred Wright (Bahrain Victorious), le Suisse Stefan Küng (Groupama-FDJ), le Danois Mads Pedersen et le Canadien Hugo Houle (Israel Premier Tech).

L'Américain Quinn Simmons (Trek-Segafredo) a été distancé dans la côte de Saint-Romain-en-Gal.

45 km - Jakobsen de retour

Ça ne roule plus aussi fort dans le peloton, ce qui permet à l'échappée de reprendre un peu le large à 45 kilomètres de l'arrivée. Avec désormais 2'50" d'avance sur le peloton. A noter que le rythme moins soutenu permet aussi à Fabio Jakobsen de revenir.

47 km - Jakobsen distancé à son tour

Difficile d'imaginer Fabio Jakobsen s'imposer à Saint-Etienne aujourd'hui. La route s'élève et le sprinteur néerlandais se retrouve donc lâché. Entre lui et Caleb Ewan, ça fait deux candidats à la victoire éliminés.

49 km - Ewan craque complètement

Le sprinteur australien, touché à la jambe gauche après sa chute, est lâché dans la côte de Saint-Romain-en-Gal. Il n'est même plus attendu par ses équipiers.

49 km - Deux minutes pour l'échappée

Ganna, Jorgenson, Wright, Küng, Pedersen, Simmons et Houle sont rentrés dans la côte de Saint-Romain-en-Gal, une ascension de 6,6 km à 4,5 % de pente moyenne.

Le peloton est toujours pointé à deux minutes.

50 km - Abandon de Victor Lafay

Victor Lafay aura vécu un premier Tour de France calvaire. Le coureur haut-savoyard de la Cofidis, à la peine depuis plusieurs jours, s'est résolu à abandonner. Il occupait ce matin la 155e place du classement général, à trois heures de Jonas Vingegaard.

54 km - Ewan n'est pas encore rentré

La Lotto-Soudal s'est (enfin) décidée à donner un coup de main à son sprinteur de poche. Victime d'une chute il y a quelques kilomètres, Caleb Ewan est désormais épaulé par plusieurs de ses équipiers, mais il a encore 30 secondes à boucher pour revenir sur le peloton.

58 km - Avance toujours faible pour l'échappée

L'échappée espérait sans doute "profiter" de la chute de Caleb Ewan pour prendre le large, mais ça continue de rouler très fort en tête de peloton sous l'impulsion des Alpecin-Deceuninck et des Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl.

Le groupe de tête (Ganna, Jorgenson, Wright, Küng, Pedersen, Simmons, Houle) ne compte que deux petites minutes d'avance sur le peloton.

65 km - Ewan va devoir se débrouiller seul

Oh la grosse gueulante des commissaires de course, qui demandent au directeur sportif de l'équipe Alpecin de ne plus rouler juste devant Caleb Ewan. L'Australien profitait de l'aspiration de cette voiture pour essayer de rentrer le plus vite possible dans le peloton.

Ewan a une minute de retard.

69 km - Ewan repart difficilement

Visiblement touché au genou gauche, Caleb Ewan est malgré tout reparti. Le sprinteur australien est seul, personne ne l'attend chez Lotto-Soudal pour l'instant. Surprenant.

71 km - Chute d'Ewan !

Oh la chute du sprinteur australien dans un virage ! Il a l'air KO, lui qui a fait rouler son équipe Lotto-Soudal depuis le début de l'étape.

72 km - Un peu d'espoir pour l'échappée ?

Soyons honnête, ça ne sent pas très bon pour le groupe de tête. Même si l'écart remonte un peu, avec désormais 2'24" d'avance sur un peloton tout en maîtrise.

79,5 km - Jakobsen lâche encore

Bon, ce n'est pas du grand Fabio Jakobsen aujourd'hui. Le sprinteur néerlandais est à nouveau distancé, incapable de suivre le tempo imposé par le peloton, qui pointe à deux minutes de l'échappée.

82 km - Bordures !

Enfin un peu d'animation ! Le vent de côté et le rythme imposé en tête de peloton par les équipes de sprinteurs font quelques dégâts. Certains coureurs, déjà bien fatigués, sont distancés. Aucun leader n'est a priori concerné alors qu'on a désormais trois groupes distincts.

91 km - Jakobsen de retour dans le peloton

Un temps distancé, Fabio Jakobsen fait son retour dans les dernières positions du peloton. Le sprinteur néerlandais, vainqueur de la 2e étape du Tour, a un coup à jouer aujourd'hui.

A l'avant de la course, Mads Pedersen est passé en tête sur la ligne du sprint de la Côte-Saint-André.

98 km - Le peloton vigilant

C'est désormais la Lotto-Soudal de Caleb Ewan, qui n'a pas encore levé les bras sur ce Tour, qui a pris les choses en main en tête de peloton. Résultat, l'avance du groupe de tête recommence à fondre. Plus que 1'39" d'avance pour Ganna, Jorgenson, Wright, Küng, Pedersen, Simmons et Houle.

A noter que Cyrille Guimard voit le Slovène Matej Mohoric s'imposer à Saint-Etienne. Chez les consultants RMC Sport, Jérôme Coppel mise plutôt sur une victoire de Peter Sagan.

103 km - Peu de marge pour l'échappée

Seulement deux minutes d'avance pour l'échappée. On retrouve toujours à l'avant l'Italien Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadiers), l'Américain Matteo Jorgenson (Movistar), le Britannique Fred Wright (Bahrain Victorious), le Suisse Stefan Küng (Groupama-FDJ), le Danois Mads Pedersen, l'Américain Quinn Simmons (Trek-Segafredo) et le Canadien Hugo Houle (Israel Premier Tech).

Dans le peloton, certains coureurs se retrouvent piégés par des petites bordures provoquées par le vent et doivent batailler pour garder le contact.

113 km - Pedersen vire en tête

C'est Mads Pedersen qui passe en tête au Col de Parménie. Le Danois empoche cinq points pour le classement de la montagne. Mais il ne représente pas de danger pour Simon Geschke, qui va conserver son maillot blanc à pois au moins une journée de plus.

117km - Dans le Col de Parménie

La course entre dans le Col de Parménie (5,1km à 6,6%). Le peloton revient à 1'30". On craint forcément les sept coureurs à l'avant, qui sont des solides.

120km - Jorgenson est revenu

Matteo Jorgenson a bien repris sa place dans l'échappée, qui n'a que 1'50" sur le peloton. Lotto-Soudal et Alpecin-Deceuninck maintiennent la pression sur les sept hommes de tête.

130km - Jorgenson distancé sur crevaison

Matteo Jorgenson est distancé de l'échappée après une crevaison. Il va falloir boucher 25 secondes pour revenir sur l'échappée.

136km - Doull repris

Ils seront donc bien 7 dans l'échappée aujourd'hui. La Lotto-Soudal, par l'intermédiaire de Philippe Gilbert, roule dans le peloton, à 1'35" de la tête de course. Mais au vu des coureurs devant, il ne faudra pas traîner.

"Comme si un camion m'avait roulé dessus", les coureurs se plaignent de la chaleur

Interrogés en zone mixte ce vendredi matin, plusieurs coureurs, dont Fabio Jakobsen, sont revenus sur l'épisode caniculaire.

142km - Désormais 7 coureurs en tête

Fred Wright, Mads Pedersen, Quinn Simmons et Hugo Houle reviennent sur Stefan Küng, Matteo Jorgenson et Filippo Ganna. Owain Doull est en contre et le peloton à 41 secondes.

149km - le contre repris

Ils ne sont plus que trois devant puisque la formation Alpecin-Deceuninck reprend le groupe de contre. Il ne reste plus qu'un trio devant, avec 35" d'avance.

150km - Alpecin-Deceuninck roule

Jasper Philipsen vise l'étape et demande à son équipe de rouler pour revenir sur le groupe de contre.

152km - Composition du groupe de tête

La composition du trio devant : Stefan Küng (Groupama-FDJ), Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadiers), Matteo Jorgenson (Movistar).

Ils ont 30 secondes d'avance sur : Edvald Boasson Hagen (TotalEnergies), Alberto Bettiol (EF Education Easy Post), Pierre-Luc Périchon (Cofidis), Patrick Konrad, Nils Politt (Bora-Hansgrohe), Andreas Kron (Trek-Segafredo), Mads Pedersen, Bauke Mollema (Trek-Segafredo), Hugo Houle, Krits Neilands (Israël - Premier Tech), Nick Schultz (Bike Exchange), Luca Mozzato (B&B Hôtels), Fred Wright, Damiano Caruso (Bahrain-Victorious), , Mikkel Honoré, Mattia Cattaneo (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl), Marc Soler (UAE Emirates), Chris Hamilton, Andreas Leknessund (DSM).

157km - un gros groupe de contre

Ils sont une quinzaine dans le groupe de contre mais il n'y a qu'un seul Français; Pierre-Luc Périchon. Le peloton semble laisser filer.

160km - Roglic distancé

Primoz Roglic est distancé du peloton dans ses premiers kilomètres, à l'issue de la première difficulté.

162km - Ganna en tête à Côte de Brié

Filippo Ganna passe en tête dans la Côte de Brié devant Stefan Küng et Matteo Jorgenson. Un groupe de contre tente de revenir sur le trio. Fabio Jakobsen est lâché du peloton.

163km - L'échappée craque

L'échappée est déjà reprise dans la première difficulté et des coureurs relancent avec Filippo Ganna et Stefan Küng. Peter Sagan est lâché par le peloton.

165km - nouveau groupe de 5

Mads Pedersen, Taco van der Hoorn, Luca Mozzato, Pierre-Luc Périchon et Danny Van Poppel prennent l'avantage. Le peloton se calme un peu. 15 secondes d'avance. Mais on arrive dans la première difficulté du jour avec la Côte de Brié (2,4km à 6,9%).

170km - Peloton groupé

Peter Sagan relance à nouveau alors que le peloton se reforme. La bataille continue pour prendre l'échappée.

171km - Sagan revient

Peter Sagan revient sur l'échappée, avec d'autres coureurs. Tout devrait bientôt être à refaire.

174km - un groupe de 5 se forme

Nils Politt, Jérémy Lecroq, Matis Louvel, Taco van der Hoorn et Kamil Gradek ont pris un petit avantage mais ça relance encore.

180km - Dans des portions descendantes

Le début d'étape s'effectue sur des portions descendantes et il est bien difficile de parvenir à créer un écart. Le peloton est groupé même si Kamil Gradek a pris quelques longueurs.

186km- Ganna tente sa chance

Filippo Ganna, le champion du monde du contre la montre, attaque à son tour. L'équipe Ineos Grenadiers essaie de placer des hommes à l'avant. Les rouleurs Stefan Küng et Stefan Bissegger tentent aussi.

190km - Politt à l'attaque

Le champion d'Allemagne Nils Politt se lance à l'avant, lui qui s'était imposé à Nîmes l'an dernier. Un groupe d'une quinzaine de coureurs est en train de sortir mais le peloton ne laisse pas faire.

Départ réel

Départ donné pour 192 kilomètres sur cette 13e étape. C'est Mads Pedersen qui attaque le premier, lui l'ancien champion du monde.

Geraint Thomas, troisième du général, s'est amusé d'un meme sur Twitter se moquant de son attentisme face aux attaques répétées entre les deux leaders du classement général, Jonas Vingegaard et Tadej Pogacar.

Positif au covid, Barguil abandonne

La formation Arkéa-Samsic a annoncé l'abandon de Warren Barguil sur le Tour de France. Le coureur français a été testé positif au covid, ce vendredi avant le départ de la 13e étape qu'il ne prendra pas. Mercredi, le Breton avait signé une longue échappée avant d'être repris par les favoris dans le Col du Granon. Il avait terminé 10e de l'étape.

Lampaert a chuté hier à cause d'un chien

Le Belge Yves Lampaert a subi une chute en début de 12e étape jeudi. Le coureur de la Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl a été déséquilibré par un chien , présent en plein milieu de la route.

Barguil touché à l'épaule et à la hanche

Victime d'une chute ce jeudi dans la descente du Col de la Croix de Fer, lors de la 12e étape du Tour de France, Warren Barguil est touché à la hanche et l'épaule droite .

Bienvenue sur RMC Sport pour suivre en direct commenté la 13e étape du Tour de France entre Borug d'Oisans et Saint-Etienne, où on pourrait assister à un sprint. Néanmoins, il faudra être en mesure de contrôler l'échappée, qui trouvera un terrain propice, d'autant plus avec la fatigue qui s'installe dans le peloton à l'issue de la traversée des Alpes.

BOYNTON BEACH — The top  Harris-Walz campaign  official, the chair of the national Democratic Party and four members of Congress gathered here Tuesday morning, Sept. 3, to kick off  a bus tour  intended to magnify their differences on abortion with  Republican Donald Trump  and his recent back-and-forth on the issue.

"For the next few months, we will be traveling across the country, going community to community, to make sure every voter understands what's on the line for our reproductive rights in this election," said Harris-Walz campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez. "And we're kicking off here in  Trump's backyard."

During the introduction of the "Onboard the Reproductive Freedom Bus Tour," Chavez Rodriguez was preceded by DNC Chairman Jaime Harrison, U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minnesota, and U.S. Reps. Lois Frankel of West Palm Beach and Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Weston. Also speaking Tuesday were the Democrats' Florida U.S. Senate nominee Debbie Mucarsel-Powell and TV commentator Ana Navarro.

Trump's name-calling, negativity seem to boost Harris campaign more than Democrat policies
