Our small unique operation in Port Douglas is the most personal day boat visiting the outer reef taking a maximum of just 12 passengers on board per trip, ensuring you’ll enjoy a very exclusive day. Our trip can take us to several outer reef locations where our very special Great Barrier Reef marine park permit allows us to roam the reefs freely and be away from other tourists and crowded reef locations. Because we have the ability to be able to roam all the reefs off Port Douglas it means we can frequently change our snorkel locations. Ensuring the wildlife acts naturally and does not begin shying from busy reef spots, so the surprise “big ticket” sightings are frequent and amazing!

I only have positive memories from my first every scuba diving trip/training session with ABC. If not for a suggestion from my Airbnb host, I would have experienced the Great Barrier Reef like every other tourist - on board a big catamaran with dozens of other people. I gave them a call as I was about to board my flight to Cairns and was able to secure a spot for Saturday. Since we were staying nearby their office in Port Douglas, I was offered the opportunity to visit their shop in person to fill out the health questionnaire as well as get some eco-friendly sunscreen (you will need it!). While I was there, I must have asked the silliest first-timer questions possible; they were all answered very patiently. The boat has limited spots which makes for a very personal day-trip. The staff divers are a passionate bunch and I enjoyed hearing their stories while on the 1 hour cruise to the first dive spot. I was even assigned my own dive coach to orient me as well as hold my hand on my dives. He made this whole experience so much fun and easy -- I have to say that this was clearly one of the most memorable experiences on my vacation. You can also rent an underwater camera to record the whole experience. The coaches know their reef so well that you are sure to capture some beautiful sea-creatures and fishes to look at later. My only regret would be doing this once instead of on all the days I was in Port Douglas! If you're planning to see the Great Barrier Reef from up close, skip all the other tours and give ABC a call.

Excellent crew members!! They were just amazing. I am giving 5 for many reasons 1) After 30 minutes into sea, Boat was showing sign of problematic sound.. Crew was pretty quick to realize and arranged back plan in no time!! Without any complications and they were polite throughout the day 2) snorkeling experience: our group has 6 year kid and non-swimmer, Lizzie was so good and professional such she was making sure they get to snorkel for 2 hrs just all by next to lizzie. 3) Once we are back to deck (different place than where we parked), it was raining badly crew was super helpful and we have bus ready and waiting take us back to parking place. Small thing but effort and details CREW puts in to make sure us happy is amazing!!! Lizzie & other CREW we are coming again !!!

ABC Scuba gave my girlfriend and I such an amazing scuba adventure. We explored two great dive sites with a total of three dives. Two on the first and one on the second. Paul, our dive master, was wonderful. He was extremely knowledgeable on the state of the coral reef and many other fascinating facts. Since the weather was a little choppy, ABC chose to tag along on the AquaQuest, great vessel with very friendly staff but still a very small and customized dive experience. If we return to Port Douglas, we will definitely dive with ABC again and we highly recommend them.

My first trip to Australia and I definitely wanted to dive the Great Barrier Reef. It was a great experience from start to finish: the pick-up from the local hotel, greeting upon boarding, the safety briefing, the briefing from the marine biologist, and the dives themselves. It was a welcoming crew: Paul, John, Lizzie, Wayne, and Simon. The sea life was incredible, and the divemasters were quite talented in discovering the hidden and petite treasures of the sea. Professional and top-notch from start to finish (thank you, Jay). I have no reservations in recommending them for snorkelers or divers. I only wished that I had known they also do discovery scuba dives, so my buddy could have tried his hand at it, instead of snorkeling that day.

We had a great time diving with ABC! We loved having the small boat, and knowledgeable guides. The gear was top notch, the best rental gear I've ever used. The food was above average too!

This was by far the best snorkeling/diving experience I've ever had. The small group atmosphere was perfect, they advertise that there is never more than 12 in a group and we only had 9. This meant personal instruction and care for each of us, which made all the difference. The other boats we saw held at least 100-150 people. My friend and I did the introductory dive, I've tried diving once and she had never tried it. She was very nervous and I was a little as well because it had been over ten years since my first try. Wayne was our dive master and he was absolutely phenomenal. He explained all the safety information very clearly and made it very easy and simple for us. He assured us that we would take each step very slowly to make sure we were comfortable and got the hang of it. As we were getting started, my friend had a "freak out" moment and Wayne was patient and talked her through it and ended up holding her hand through all the dives all day just to make her feel more comfortable!! He was amazing!! The three spots we went to were absolutely amazing. So many types of fish and some really amazing coral. This will definitely be the highlight of our two week trip in Australia. I can't say enough good things about ABC. Professional, kind, fun, friendly staff, very nice boat and equipment, lovely buffet lunch, all in all a truly phenomenal day!! HIGHLY recommend!!!

Amazing experience! Could not have had a better time. They were knowledgeable and were able to show us many cool things. We even saw a sea turtle. The food was great and once again, the staff was excellent. Would definitely recommend them to any of my friends going to scuba dive in the reef. Thank you all
