There are three major airports in NYC that handle international and domestic New York flights. Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), and LaGuardia Airport (LGA) all handle commercial flights to and from the New York metropolitan area. New York is the busiest hub for airports and La Guardia one of the busiest in the country, serving as a hub for Delta Air Lines. There are ground transportation options for travelers once their New York flights arrive to these airports. Individuals that have booked flights to the LaGuardia Airport can make taxi, limousine, or bus arrangements from the airport to their hotel. JFK receives more international traffic, and is a travel hub for JetBlue Airways. EWR is a hub for United Airlines, and has AirTrain Newark, a fast way to get to the other boroughs of New York and its massive surrounding sprawl.

New York Weather

The weather in New York City can be warm in the summer, spring, and fall months and snowy and extremely cold in the winter. Travelers that want to plan New York flights to experience a real winter should make flight arrangements between November and late February. Snow season in New York brings around 25-30 inches of snowfall. Individuals that want to experience a much warmer climate should arrange their flight accommodations between late April and September. New York is perfect for sightseeing and outdoor activities in May, June, and September. July and August are usually the hottest months of the year in New York.

Getting Around New York

There are plenty of ways to get around after your New York flight lands at one of the three major airports in the area. Traveling by car probably isn't the most viable means of transportation due to daily traffic jams on the city streets. It is advisable that visitors use transportation services that will get them around the city in a timely manner. The most practical transportation outlets to take advantage of when you fly into the city are taxi cabs, the subway, and bus. The MTA system will handle most transportation options, giving you access to every one of New York's famous boroughs, side-streets, and alleys, just minutes from departing New York flights.

SIGHTSEEING AND SHOPPING

To get the best view of the main island, start in Manhattan’s Upper East Side. While there, you’ll also find designer boutiques on Fifth Avenue as well as shopping at Barneys, Bloomingdale’s or Saks Fifth Avenue.

ART AND SHOWS

The incomparable Metropolitan Museum of Art, which boasts more than two million pieces of timeless art, is the largest art museum in the United States and a must-see. Make sure you reserve a few hours at the very least to take in even a fraction of its extensive collection. If you want to catch a Broadway show in Midtown, you can often score cheap tickets when you purchase them on the day of the actual performance. Some popular shows even offer standing-room only (SRO) tickets once the show is sold out.

TIMES SQUARE AND FOOD

For an iconic view of the Big Apple, hit up Times Square, which is located in the Broadway Theater District. Known as “the Crossroads of the World,” it’s a major center of the entertainment industry and one of the busiest pedestrian intersections in the world.

When it’s time to eat, have lunch at one of the many famous chefs’ eateries or have a quick bite (preferably a corned beef sandwich) at Katz’s Deli.

LANDMARKS AND NIGHTLIFE

Make sure you take a stroll through Central Park, one of the world’s great urban parks. It’s served as a model for many others since its design in 1858, and at 843 acres and 2.5 miles long, it’s a natural oasis in the middle of the concrete jungle.

No trip to New York City would be complete without a climb to the top of the Empire State Building. The 102-story Art Deco tower in Midtown boasts a view that’s been memorialized in classic films from King Kong to Love Affair and Sleepless in Seattle.

For a night out in a town famous for its nightlife, head downtown to one of the many chic restaurants and nightclubs in the Meatpacking District or Greenwich Village. A friendly warning: reservations are likely required.

While New York doesn’t disappoint in any season, it certainly sees its share of highs and lows depending on the time of year. Annual precipitation is relatively even throughout the year, so there’s no real rainy season to worry about. Summer-like conditions are in effect from late May through late September, with average highs ranging from 70-85°F. Arriving at the New York JFK Airport

New York City is served by three major airports: John F. Kennedy International Airport, Newark International Airport, and LaGuardia Airport. John F. Kennedy International Airport, or JFK, is the primary gateway to New York City and has eight terminals that serve most major and minor airlines. Newark and LaGuardia airport are great alternatives for those seeking the fastest way into New York City. When asking for a quote on your airfare to New York, let your airline know in advance about any specific needs when boarding the aircraft and any other specific needs you may have throughout the flight. For those with specific needs, the airports offer Planemates to transport passengers between arriving or departing aircraft and the gate area.

Getting around NYC

Your flight to New York was long and tedious; now take the high-speed, eco-friendly, and affordable light-rail service that links the airports to New York City and beyond. With subways running every direction and the swarm of yellow cabs on every street, getting around the city any time of day or night is the least of your problems.

Main Attractions in NYC

From historical landmarks to famous Broadway shows - attractions are around every corner! Your New York City airfare may include tickets to any of the following – The Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, New York Skyride, Madame Tussaud’s, Circle Line River Cruise, Guggenheim Museum, Museum of Modern Art, and more. For visitors overwhelmed by the skyscrapers and high paced lifestyle of the city, Central Park offers an escape where visitors can relax and recoup from a long day of sightseeing.

Shopping, Dining and Night Life in New York City

A cheap flight to NYC will allow visitors to further indulge in the maze of consumerist delights found throughout the city. Just about every national chain has a store somewhere in one of the five boroughs and in some cases in multiple locations—Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Sack’s Fifth Avenue to name a few. Food appreciators can enjoy the wide range of gastronomic delights by treating themselves to the many ethnic restaurants around NYC. Brooklyn is arguably now the hippest of New York’s five boroughs with a variety of trendy restaurants and bars. Visitors booking a flight to New York City to experience the nightlife should visit Marquee and OAK nightclubs.

From Jazz clubs and sports bars to supper clubs and dance halls with VIP rooms there is something for everyone in New York. Book a ticket to NYC and meet friends for a night of fun and laughter at one of the Comedy clubs or see a band at a rock club.

Frequently asked questions

  • A plane ride can be a cruisy experience if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you’ll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh set of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, make room in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, any medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don’t forget to bring your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
  • Check carefully that you don’t have a Swiss Army knife lurking in your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive products, such as fuel and matches, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
  • The key to a comfortable flight often lies in your clothing choices. Prepare for temperature changes by bringing layers. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin gets chilly. Shoes like sandals and heels are best left for other occasions. Even though they may be your favorites, opt for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will thank you for it.
  • It’s likely you’ve heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of sitting. There are many ways to reduce your risk. Wear compression socks or tights, stay hydrated and keep your legs and feet moving. Wander up and down the aisles of the cabin or try out some exercises in your seat.
  • Be sure to keep your passport and boarding pass close by. They’re the first things you’ll be asked for by security.
  • Time to strip down. Well sort of. Your coat, belt, keys and other contents of your pockets, like your earphones, will need to go through the X-ray machine. Make your life easier by removing them as your turn draws near.
  • All electronic gadgets, including your tablet and phone, will also need to be separately scanned.
  • Any liquids or gels, such as shampoo or hand cream, that you want to bring on board need to be in containers no greater than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters). They must also all fit inside a quart-size (one liter), zip-lock bag.
  • Lightweight sneakers are a practical footwear choice as you’re less likely to be required to remove them when going through security. Hiking boots and other heavy shoes are often subjected to extra screening.
  • Take all prohibited items out of your carry-on bag. If you have any sharp objects like a pocket knife or tools, pack them in your checked baggage. They won’t be allowed in the cabin.

President joe biden opened up about mental health and grief in the aftermath of losing his first wife and daughter and said he'll debate presumptive republican nominee donald trump in a wide-ranging  surprise live interview  with howard stern on siriusxm on friday the interview comes one day after a  report from politico  was published about tension between biden's white house and the new york times stemming from biden's refusal to sit with the paper of record for an interview biden was the first sitting president to appear on stern's long-running radio program; he interviewed donald trump numerous times throughout his career long before the now-former president entered politics, and sat down with 2016 democratic presidential nominee hillary clinton for an  extensive interview in 2019.

"I think I should leave now," Biden joked as Stern, who as recently as this week expressed his fondness for the incumbent Democrat on his radio program, introduced him to the audience by singing his praises and expressing how much he wanted to meet him.

Friday's sitdown marks Stern's first interview with a sitting president.

"Look at me, sitting with the president," Stern said at the end of the interview, to which Biden quipped back: "Look at me, sitting with Howard Stern."

The longtime radio host -- and one-time New York libertarian gubernatorial candidate -- interviewed Donald Trump numerous times through the years before he became president, and sat down with 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton for an extensive interview in 2019 . (Stern told late night host Stephen Colbert in 2019 he believes if Clinton had sat for an interview ahead of the election, it might have "made a difference" in her presidential campaign.)

The wide-ranging interview -- which lasted over an hour -- touched on a number of topics, from Biden's feelings of grief after the death of his first wife and infant daughter in a car accident, to pledging to debate former President Donald Trump, his likely opponent in November.

"I don’t know when, but   I am happy to debate him," Biden told the radio host.

Biden was also questioned about his favorite predecessors -- Thomas Jefferson, Franklin Delano Roosevelt and, of course, his old boss, Barack Obama, who he said was "a hell of a president" -- overcoming his stutter and how he met his second wife, first lady Jill Biden.

Here are some of the topics they touched on during the interview:

Biden opens up about mental health, thoughts of suicide after loss of his first wife and infant daughter

President Biden spoke candidly about mental health when Stern asked him about the loss of his first wife, Neilia, and infant daughter, Naomi, in a 1972 car crash that left his two sons -- Beau and Hunter -- critically injured.

Stern, who has three daughters, grew emotional at points during the interview when talking about the incident.

"It was a great romance," he said to the president. "And you had three children. You had a daughter and two sons, and you had a young family, you had just been elected to the United States Senate, and the worst thing ever happens in your life. It's a horrible tragedy. Your wife was in a car accident, some truck hit her, and you lost your 13 month old daughter. And I get the chills when I say it because I can't imagine this kind of loss. You lose your 13 month old daughter, you lose your wife and your two boys end up in the hospital. I can't even imagine that kind of loss."

Biden said he struggled in the aftermath of the incident, which came just a few weeks after he was first elected to represent Delaware in the U.S. Senate.

"I didn't want to stay in the U.S. Senate, and I let everybody know," Biden said. "We had a Democratic governor, and he'd appointe a successor, another Democrat."

But he met resistance from some of the powerhouses of the U.S. Senate at the time -- namely then-Senate Majority Leader Mike Mansfield, Massachusetts Sen. Ted Kennedy and a handful of others -- who convinced him to stay.

"Sen. Mansfield, 'Iron Mike' from Montana, a man with more integrity in his little finger that most people have in their whole body, and Teddy Kennedy and [South Carolina Sen.] Fritz Hollings ... and a few others, they all came to me and said 'look, just stay six months, help us organize,'" he recalled. "Like a damn fool, I said, I said 'okay, but I'm not going to stay.' And I started commuting back and forth to the train and two or 300 miles round trip a day."

Later in the interview, Stern brought up Biden's loss again, leading to a candid discussion about mental health and suicidal thoughts.

"You describe you were suicidal at that point," Stern said. "You thought about it?"

"I don't drink," Biden replied. "That's not a virtue, I never drank And I used to sit there and think to myself, 'I'm just gonna pick out a bottle of scotch ... and I was going to just drink it and get drunk, and I could never bring myself to do it."

"And I actually thought about, you know -- you don't have to be crazy to commit suicide," he continued. "If you've been at the top of the mountain, you think it's never gonna be there. And there was a brief moment, I thought maybe I just go to the Delaware Memorial Bridge and jump. But I had two kids. Don't get me wrong. I wasn't like, 'I've got to commit -- It was like, you've been to the top of the mountain, and it's never gonna happen again. You're never gonna be okay. But I had my boys."

When asked if he considered therapy, Biden said he didn't, emphasizing the support of his family -- but encouraged others to seek mental help.

"I strongly, strongly, strongly encourage people to go to therapy," Biden said. "I strongly urge people to deal with mental illness. It's just like you breaking a bone in your body, but I guess because I had such an internal support ... I never considered it, but I wish I had. I remember when the boys were hospitalized, Hunter had a fractured skull from the accident and Beau broke literally every bone in his body, he was in a body cast both arms, both legs for a long time."

Biden recalled that Ted Kennedy sent a child therapst from University of Massachusetts to help his children recover from the accident, which he said was "wonderful," but he never sought therapy because of his family's support.

"I encourage people to get therapy, I hope they don't read from this and they shouldn't get a therapist," Biden said. "I think it's really important. Mental illnesses should not be viewed as anything different than a physical illness, and it should be just treated. And there's real serious people and experts who can help."

Biden: 'I'm happy to debate' Trump

When asked by Stern if he'll debate Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, Biden said he's planning on it.

"I am somewhere," Biden said. "I don't know when. I'm happy to debate him."

The comment marks the first time the incumbent president has committed to debate his 2020 election opponent. The statement comes after several news outlets, including ABC News, NBC News, CNN, C-SPAN, The Associated Press and NPR, sent the two candidates a letter urging them to debate.

"Ok let’s set it up !” Trump campaign manager Chris LaCivita said on social media in response.

In a post on his Truth Social platform after the interview , Trump accused Biden of being facetious, writing: "Everyone knows he doesn't really mean it, but in case he does, I say, ANYWHERE, ANYTIME, ANYPLACE, an old expression used by Fighters."

"I suggest Monday Evening, Tuesday Evening, or Wednesday Evening at my Rally in Michigan," Trump said, before baselessly accusing Biden's policies on electric vehicles of "destroying" the Wolverine State.

"In the alternative, he's in New York City today, although probably doesn't know it, and so am I, stuck in one of the many Court cases that he instigated," Trump continued, accusing Biden of instigating the hush money trial against him. (There is no evidence Biden interfered in the case, and the president does not have jurisdiction over a state-level prosecution.)

"In fact, let's do the Debate at the Courthouse tonight - on National Television, I'll wait around!" he challenged.

Trump did not participate in a single Republican National Committee-sanctioned debate for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination. In 2020, he pulled out of a planned debate with Biden.

Stern offered Biden a strategy for a potential debate.

"This is how I would handle it. Tell me if I'm nuts -- well I am nuts -- but tell me if this is accurate: I would stand there on stage with Trump and I would repeat over and over again, 'excuse me, please find me 11,000 votes so that I can win the election?'" Stern said, referencing the now-infamous phone call the Republican president placed to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger after the election. "I would just repeat that over and over again. And I'd say to the audience, 'what are we debating?'"

The conversation then turned to the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol. Biden accused Trump of "sitting in that office off the dining area of the Oval Office for three hours and [saying] nothing."

"It was derelict, it was almost criminal. He did nothing. He just sat there and watched what was happening," Biden charged of Trump before condemning his once-and-likely-future opponent's pledges to pardon those who stomed the Capitol .

Stern asked Biden if any of the Republican members of Congress he served with expressed outrage about Trump.

"I'd never say the names I never will, the last few years have had seven sitting Republican senators -- two are gone now -- seven sitting Republican friends call me and tell me, 'Joe, I agree with you, but I just can't -- he'll get me.'"

"They're not saying they're gonna vote for me, they're saying 'I agree with you,'" he added.

Airline fees

Stern opened the interview in a somewhat unusual fashion, praising the president for a specific piece of policy: A new Transportation Department rule issued earlier this week  entitling passengers on significantly delayed flights to receive automatic cash refunds and mandating that airlines be more transparent about fees for bags, select seats and other amenities before a ticket is booked.

"He did something so great, and I don't know how many people are aware of it: But you've got this thing with the airline passed that now when an airline for some reason screws you up and doesn't let you, you know -- when you can't make the flight, they used to give you a credit. But now they are forced to refund you. And like, I think that's a huge deal."

The action is part of Biden's push to cut so-called "junk fees" -- hidden costs on everything from concert tickets to online food delivery -- as a way to lower costs for Americans.

"There's a lot of those, Howard," Biden said. "The fact is that when you're raised in a middle-class family, all this stuff matters to you. It matters, those items that they say, 'well, it's only costs this, it only costs that,' it matters."

"There's a lot of junk fees too," he continued. "Like for example, banks can charge $35 for overdrafts any more, it'll cost you three or eight dollars. A whole range of things that matter."

As he often does, Biden launched into an anecdote about his father to underscore his point: "My dad used to say, 'At the end of the month, how much you got left?'"

Supreme Court and abortion

Biden's interview with Stern came one day after the Supreme Court heard arguments about Trump's claim of absolute immunity in the federal election subversion case against him.

Stern pressed Biden about the Supreme Court, to which the president replied: "I got to be careful what I say about the court."

"Why do you have to be careful?" the host asked, before referencing Senate Republicans' successful effort to scuttle President Obama's nomination of Merrick Garland to succeed the late Justice Antonin Scalia in 2016, which led to Trump's ideological reshaping of the high court. "This keeps me up at night, I'm not exaggerating."

"It's a really extremely conservative court," Biden said. "Maybe the most conservative court in modern history."

Biden then steered the conversation toward abortion, pledging that if reelected and given a Democratic Congress, they will restore Roe v. Wade.

"When they struck down Roe v Wade, saying that it was not constitutionally -- federal constitutionally guaranteed, it was a state issue, states can make those judgments ... one of the justices, Clarence Thomas, said it's not that women don't have a choice, they can in fact change it ... at a state level, we'll see if they have the power."

"Well, they ain't seen nothing yet, they're gonna see what will happen," Biden continued, adding: "If I'm elected President again to a second term, we're going to be able to ... make Roe v. Wade the law of the land again."

"I think there's going to be a real lesson learned on the MAGA Republican side of the aisle, because we're going to see a whole hell of a lot of state referenda, and they're going to see they're gonna want to restore it, and that's going to be able to be done."

Sit-down with Stern comes after report about tensions over interviews with 'traditional' news outlets

The interview comes one day after a  report from POLITICO  was published about tension between Biden's White House and The New York Times stemming from Biden's refusal to sit with the paper of record for an interview. The Times pushed back on the report , but condemned the president for not sitting for interviews with traditional media outlets, calling it "troubling that President Biden has so actively and effectively avoided questions from independent journalists during his term."

"It is true that The Times has sought an on-the-record interview with Mr. Biden, as it has done with all presidents going back more than a century," the New York Times said in a statement . "If the president chooses not to sit down with The Times because he dislikes our independent coverage, that is his right, and we will continue to cover him fully and fairly either way."

However, in meetings with Vice President Harris and other administration officials, the publisher of The Times focused instead on a higher principle: That systematically avoiding interviews and questions from major news organizations doesn’t just undermine an important norm, it also establishes a dangerous precedent that future presidents can use to avoid scrutiny and accountability," the statement continues. "That is why [NYT publisher A.G.] Sulzberger has repeatedly urged the White House to have the president sit down with The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, CNN and other major independent news organizations that millions of Americans rely on to understand their government."

Biden didn't address The New York Times controversy specifically, but he did accuse news outlets of not "speaking up" against Trump like they did previously.

"I'm not blaming the press, I'm just saying I think some of them are worried about attacking him, worried about taking him on," Biden told Stern.

A Guide to Around-the-World Flights

E mbarking on a yearlong journey around the world is a dream scenario for many travelers. However, the logistics of making it happen can be challenging, not least because of the sheer number of flights you would need to book. One way to make the journey a reality is by purchasing an around-the-world flight ticket.

Here are the basics of what you need to know about around-the-world flights, including which airlines and companies offer them and tips for navigating this travel option.

What is an around-the-world ticket?

An around-the-world (often referred to as RTW for "round the world") ticket allows travelers to hopscotch across the globe and visit multiple destinations on one ticket, usually at a lower cost than individually bought tickets. RTW trips typically need to be in a continuous forward direction, either eastward or westward; for example, an eastward itinerary could include flights from New York to Buenos Aires to Barcelona to Berlin to New Delhi to Bali to Honolulu to New York again.

With RTW tickets, changes are typically allowed, so extending or shortening your stay at each destination doesn't cost extra. Travelers either choose their own unique itinerary or follow one of the sample itineraries provided.

Which airlines offer around-the-world tickets?

Around-the-world tickets are typically offered by airline alliance networks and travel agencies-not by single airlines. Both Oneworld Alliance and Star Alliance offer around-the-world flights, but SkyTeam (which includes Delta Air Lines, Air France, and KLM) no longer has an around-the-world program . The rules around the tickets vary based on the provider.

Oneworld Alliance around-the-world tickets

The Oneworld Alliance (which includes U.S. carriers Alaska Airlines and American Airlines as well as international carriers British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, Qatar, and seven others) offers travelers two options for RTW tickets , including:

  • Oneworld Explorer, which sets prices based on the number of continents you visit
  • Global Explorer, which bases the fee on the distance traveled

There are a few restrictions for each. For one, trips must start and end in the same city within 12 months. Also, travelers need to visit at least three continents and cross both the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans in no more than 16 flights, without backtracking (meaning you need to continue in the same direction of travel).

Oneworld RTW prices for itineraries starting stateside begin at roughly $3,500 for an economy ticket to three continents. However, that price climbs to about $7,000 for travelers planning to visit six continents. Those seeking to travel in business or first class should expect rates to start at more than $10,000.

Star Alliance around-the-world tickets

There are few places you can't get to on a Star Alliance RTW ticket -the network reaches more than 1,300 destinations in 190 countries. It includes 26 airlines, some of which are United, Air Canada, Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines, and Air New Zealand.

Travelers have two options when booking: to pick their destinations or to select one of Star Alliance's themed RTW tickets. The themed itinerary Architecture Hotspots Round the World , for example, starts in Athens, from where you fly to Cairo, Beijing, Miami, Chicago, Brasilia (Brazil), Barcelona, and Florence and then return to Athens.

Like Oneworld, Star Alliance RTW tickets demand travelers make both a transpacific and transatlantic flight in no more than 16 flights, flown within one year. However, Star Alliance doesn't require fliers to start and end at the same airport. They just need to get back to the same country-so users could feasibly start in San Francisco and wrap up in New York if they're running short on allotted miles (the maximum allowed for the entire journey is 39,000). Additionally, each stop must last at least 24 hours.

For Star Alliance, prices are determined by total mileage flown and class of service. On the low end, expect to pay about $4,000.

Other companies that offer around-the-world tickets

If you'd rather not use one of the airline alliances, another option is to consult a travel agency that specializes in around-the-world tickets.

One of the oldest is AirTreks, which has been assembling RTW tickets for travelers since 1987.

Because AirTreks works with multiple airline alliances (including SkyTeam, even though it no longer sells RTW tickets), it can offer greater ticket flexibility, often at a lower price. It also provides overland options from one airport to another (meaning you could fly into London, take the train to France, and fly out of Paris), whereas Oneworld and Star Alliances require travelers to fly in and out of the same airports.

One sample itinerary titled the Off The Beaten Path starts in Los Angeles and has you fly to Melbourne and Catania, Italy, where you travel overland to Palermo to catch forward flights to Porto, Portugal; Florianópolis, Brazil; Medellín, Colombia; and Los Angeles. The price starts at $3,000, which is slightly cheaper than booking a similar trip with one of the airline alliances.

AirTreks doesn't have mileage or segment restrictions, so it allows travelers to embark on and conclude their journey wherever they choose. However, because flights are spread across multiple alliances, tickets can be subject to change fees.

Other companies you might consider include Trailfinders , Flight Centre , and RoundAbout Travel .

Can you pay for an around-the-world ticket using miles?

Yes, it's possible to fund your around-the-world ticket with select airline miles. However, you're going to need a treasure trove of loyalty points to make it happen, and you'll be tasked with finding flights with award availability for each flight segment, which can be challenging.

Some of the mileage programs that currently offer RTW tickets are Aeromexico, Air Canada, ANA, Cathay Pacific, Lufthansa, Qantas, and Singapore Airlines.

Are around-the-world tickets worth it?

It depends.

There are some distinct advantages to booking a RTW ticket; chief among them is some built-in flexibility and a set price. Because the price is determined by the number of places you visit, it can be cheaper for travelers who are keen on flying during more expensive peak-travel periods, such as summer, versus during the offseason.

However, some travelers may find it easier to book individual tickets as they go rather than the whole itinerary upfront-especially if work, family, or other obligations may make it hard to use all the provided flights in a single year while adhering to the RTW-ticket conditions (namely, consistently flying in a single direction). Booking outside of an airline alliance also allows you to mix and match a greater number of airlines. Similarly, going the DIY route allows travelers to use a combination of points and cash.

Break up a transpacific leg of an around-the-world flight with a restful stop in O'ahu, Hawai'i.

Top 5 airlines serving from Atlanta to New York

Our flight was delayed in Atlanta. The staff could have gave us an explanation for the delay and how long it would be.

I usually have a positive experience with Delta. Complimentary upgrades are always nice!

The experience was good and the flight departed on time and landed early

On 2 different flights the wifi was horrible and there was no drink or snack service.

Inflight entertainment stopped working as we taxi to runway and never worked again until landing and taxi to gate. Grrrr

Boarding was a sh!t show. JFK BOARDING was awful. The agent called three sections at a time Clogging the area then yelling at people to not block the walk way. How are you going to call delta one , premium select and comfort plus at once and the yell at highest paying passengers. Need to do a lot better and the flight attendants in the galley need to understand that their voices travel. They were talking about others and everyone in the cabin heard them

Quick flight on older aircraft. Sat in last row…really noisy. No video available

Terrible. Delta delays caused us to miss our flight and they did nothing to fix it.

Horrible. First delta flight was delayed. I ran to my connecting flight and arrived to the gate 13 mins before departure. I told the gate agent “I’m here”, she told me flight was closed while giving my already confirmed seat to an stand by passenger. I said again “madam, I’m here with my confirmed seat” and she said “no you’re not here@ and gave two stand by people a boarding pass and let them board. I asked “madam, why do you do that?”, and she repeated “you’re not here”. That was very rude. I’m disappointed of delta. It used to have a good customer service. Things have changed, but not for good.

There was no FREE wi-fi nor entertainment screens at all.

Great. Loved that there was WiFi on flight to keep in touch and excellent service of beverages and snacks.

great flight. Pilot was communicative, flight attendants were excellent. Really nice experience except my tv didn’t work.

Overall, the flight was better than the flight I took to go to Florida, which had a bunch of problems. The crew is really nice and the plane was new so it had a small problem when we were on the runway, but the flight itself was great. They even made some time back up, which is always a good thing.

Everything was good except for deplaning in NY. Took way too long!!

Jet Blue keeps getting iit wrong. 4 hour mechanical delay followed by terrible boarding experience. This is my third horrific jet blue flight in 2024. I am going to try to avoid this loser in the sky

no wifi and the aircraft was very old with tiny 4” screens.

After we landed, we were held on the plane for 30 minutes. There was no one at the gate once we landed and we forced to sit on a plan that had already over an hour delayed.

Flawless trip. Pilot came out and introduced himself, welcomed everyone, made a light joke to put everyone at ease. Arrived quite early.

JetBlue's check-in was great, but there was an in-flight flight attendant who was very rude and unkind. I didn't realize that the bathrooms were already locked 30 mins prior to landing and needed to use the restroom. Instead of politely asking me to return, she rudely told me, 'No, bathrooms are locked! Go back to your seat!' The flight was more than an hour delay, which made me almost miss my connecting flight. I understand the reasoning, but the action they took to get a hold of maintenance was time consuming. It took them so long to get a hold of maintenance and for maintenance to get started. Most importantly, my 3 checked baggages are missing! I'm writing this review 3 days after my arrival to the Philippines, and my 3 checked baggages, where my wedding dress is, are all missing!

Safe takeoff and landing Better snacks and coffee. Headphones for the TV monitors.

We waited to takeoff for about 1 hour delay for a 20 min flight.

Packed in like sardines, very uncomfortable. Sitting the aisle my shoulder was rammed into numerous times by rushing flight attendants. Also flight was very cold.

Your app is impossible to use. I couldn't load it. Then i couldn't open it. When i finally got both those things done -with much help -then i couldn't open the app to install a credit card. The upshot was 4 flights without access to food or drink. When i first tried to download united app some company called starlier opened instead and i would up signing up for some 49 dollar a month music service which i still have not been able to cancel.

Overall it was good. The flight was bumpy at times, but the pilot made us aware every time. As a result, no snacks/drinks were made available. Seats were tight but that’s okay as I had a window seat.

the head jack on my seat didn't work and the power outlet didn't work for my seat

That flight was smooth, and staff we courteous. it was a full flight so very tight. The boarding through security was not properly controlled. it was rushed and the scanning process for our bags, etc. was pilling up at the other end with no time to empty our belonging my personal items almost toppled over on the floor if i hadn't caught it rapidly. Was it just that time, or always like this - cant say. other than that all else was fine.

Wheelchair assistance was not complete. The person left me at the departure gate without informing the groundstaff of my requirements. I had to walk to the departure counter to ask for help to reach the plane door. The crew informed me that in future they were not allowed to help passengers like me, senior citizen and Wheelchair passenger with placing their carry on bags in the overhead compartments!

Amazing comfortable chairs great snacks super friendly staff pilots did excellent job. Smooth sailing all the way. Definitely be flying United more.

I liked that we arrived earlier, you could improve your snacks give away

We learned certain countries (a few) require a notarized letter from an ex to give permission for children to travel to those countries with the other spouse together with birth certificates. To find this out one hour before flying—not good. Nowhere is it documented by the airlines though they require it. Make sure about all documentation required.

They didn’t let me get my boarding pass through the app because I have a lap infant. The ticket said to see a gate agent but there was no gate agent available. I was supposed to go to the kiosk. Ended up missing my flight and they said that I never checked in to my flight so there was nothing that could be done. I will never fly spirit again. Not even worth the hassle and poor customer service.

I like strict carry on policy. Quick to board, quick to leave. Less time at gate and get there quicker

comfortable flight. not fond of the idea to pay for every little detail. baggage checkin or carry ons, basic snack, or some sort of basic entertainment/wifi. would be nice to offer these as perks and stop with the penny pinching.

Flight was late taking off. I think the crew and pilots did a good job. It definitely worked for me. I would fly spirit again thank you.

Never made it to Atlanta due to the horrible policy of having to be at the gate 1 hour prior to departure. I was at the airport and the plane had not left Baltimore, but was not allowed to board.

Flight left very close to original projected time. Paid for checked bag weight overage (my fault). Plane was literally brand new & this was its 2nd flight. Seats were alittle uncomfortable (I'm 5'11 * 175lbs and was alittle cramped, & brand new seats had little cushion). Food options were good. Main thing was flight took off & landed on time.

The seats were larger & more roomy than the old planes. the crew was excellent. . overall a very good flight.

Horrible experience. 1st we were over an hour late. 2nd waited to board for 2hrs 3rd got off/on plane 2 times 4th each time we got on the plane we sat in rhe plane for 1 to 2 hours with no updated or water 5th we were given literally 4 different answers as to why we werent in the air yet

Frontier is an absolute disaster in Costa Rica! After changing the schedule to 2 hours later I was forced to lucky to purchase 2 connecting trips to get home at great expense. Also when I got to the SJ airport, I was forced to stand in the terminal (no seating) for 1-1/2 hours waiting for the Frontier counter to open instead of being able to get my boarding pass so I could relax in the Amex lounge and do work waiting for my flight. Further, when I left Denver on the first leg of the trip to SJ, we were 1-1/4 hours late leaving “because a flight attendant needed paperwork. This also caused a double connecting purchase to get to my family in CR for Christmas Day. Remind me not to use Frontier for my upcoming CR return flight. So sorry to be so honest but I sometimes wonder if anyone is listening or if they understand the damage they cause by some accounting or logistical reasons for a schedule change, Thanks Steve

I purchased a carry on bag online…was supposed to cost $72 but after a whole slew of bs charges, the total was over $175.00. Because of these hidden charges, I will not even consider flying Frontier ever again. It’s just not worth the hassle. I’m scratching this company off my list forever.

Flight was OK. Seats were good no cell phone charges on the plane no TVs or entertainment.

There were 3 leg for the trip and each leg was delayed by 90 minutes or more. The boarding process takes forever with people waiting on the jetway even though most folks do not have carry-on. The whole process is poorly managed.

Flight cancelled and was told by a rude gate agent that they don’t accommodate on other airlines. Had to wait 5 hours for a connecting flight that had a 7 hour layover. Would not allow bags to be checked early so we couldn’t go through security .Had to rent a car for the afternoon to store bags and get a meal. Also incurred a hotel fee. No apology or reason given for the cancellation- just rudeness.

They cancelled the flight then did nothing to help us rebook. It was awful - I won’t fly with them again

The process of buying the ticket and navigating all the hidden charges that Frontier throws at you was a terrible experience. The actual airport experience and flying was fine.

The truck that was refueling the plane drove away with the hose still connected to the plane and ripped part of the plane off with it

Not have to pay for every single item to take a flight. Seating and delays sucked.

Flight was cancelled and I had to spend the night in the airport lugging my suitcase around

If you don’t check in 24 hours in advance, they will charge you $110 to check your bag instead of the $30. I did not get an email with this information and did not check in. In addition, my flight home was cancelled at layover and I had to spend the night in the airport, and then have another layover at another airport before making it home. Will not fly frontier again.
