Kula Shaker announce UK tour for 2023

The band kick-off the tour at London's O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire in December

Kula Shaker have announced a 2023 tour in support of their new album ‘1st Congregational Church Of Eternal Love And Free Hugs’ – find tickets here .

The follow-up to 2016’s ‘K 2.0’ was released on June 10 via Strangefolk Records and was followed by a string of dates which saw the band return to touring for the first time since 2016.

The band’s upcoming ‘Eternal Love Tour’ will include a headline show at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on December 8, where they plan to pay tribute to John Lennon .

A press release notes that Kula Shaker have recorded a new cover of Lennon’s ‘Gimme Some Truth’ which they plan to release to coincide with the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire show. Tickets are already on sale here .

Speaking about the gig, Kula Shaker frontman Crispian Mills said: “We only had time to play a handful of UK shows this summer so we wanted to wrap the year up with a special show in our hometown and chance to say thank you to our fans.”

Elsewhere on the tour, the band will head to Edinburgh, Newcastle, Cambridge, Brighton and Bristol in January and February 2023. Tickets go on general sale at 9am on September 9 and can be found here .

Speaking of the tour, Mills said: “What the world needs now is LOVE, sweet love. The 'Hush' rockers are set for venues in Edinburgh, Sheffield, Liverpool and more early next year

Post-Britpop band Kula Shaker have announced UK dates for their 2023 Eternal Love Tour . Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday 9 September.

The 14-date trek will kick off on Thursday 19 January at Liquid Room in Edinburgh before heading to Leadmill in Sheffield, Camp and Furnace in Liverpool, Wylam Brewery in Newcastle and Brudenell Social Club in Leeds.

On Thursday 26 January the group will headline Rescue Rooms in Nottingham, later calling at Birmingham's O2 Institute, Junction in Cambridge, Phoenix in Exeter, Chalk in Brighton, Roadmender in Northampton, Cardiff's Tramshed, Engine Rooms in Southampton and Trinity in Bristol.

The tour comes in support of the quartet's latest album 1st Congregational Church Of Eternal Love (And Free Hugs) which was released in June this year. It's their sixth record since their 1996 debut K .

I had a great time at the show last night. Ive been a fan since they first came out but never had a chance to see them live till last night. Took them awhile to come out but when they did they put on a great show. The front-man was really getting into it and was jumping around the stage, looked like he was having a good time and so was the audience, he got everyone jumping around and singing along to some of the songs. Great show glad I went.

Extraordinary performance at the Brighton Music Hall. It was for me once in a lifetime event. So glad they came to my hometown. They still rock. Tattva, Hey Dude and Hush made my evening. I was surprised that not a larger amount of people went to this show

KULA SHAKER announce new AA side single in advance of April/May UK Tour

With their 7th album, Natural Magick , topping the Independent Album Charts and their Spring UK Tour starting in Cardiff on 22nd April, the unstoppable return of Kula Shaker continues with the announcement of a new double A-side single, released on the 13th of April.

Dubbed PEACE WHEEL, the release features two new tracks, ‘Rational Man’ and ‘Bringing It Back Home (Radha Ramana Hari bol!)’, highlighting the band’s storming live energy while giving today’s tired single format a much-needed shot in the arm. Both tracks will also be available as an exclusive double A-side Ltd edition 7-inch single and digitally.

The two ‘peace-themed’ songs were recorded at London’s legendary RAK studios, where the band recorded much of their multi-platinum-selling debut album, K. Both tracks were mixed by Ash Howes, who also mixed the whole of their recent album, Natural Magick .

Of the new single, songwriter/ bass player Alonza Bevan says, “Our approach to the double A-side is like two sides of the human brain: ‘Rational Man’ is about an everyday guy, who actually has a brain, struggling to find some reasonable sanity in the world. Then ‘Bringing it Back Home’ is about the search for a spiritual solution.”

Crispian Mills adds, “‘Bringing it Back Home’ also features the famous Indian kirtan chant, ‘Radha Ramana, Hari bol’, so it’s fitting and auspicious that it was recorded in the same room we recorded ‘Govinda’, all those years ago.”

The Ltd edition 7-inch will be available in gold smoke effect vinyl to order from https://kulashaker.tmstor.es/ on 13th April, the same day as the single’s digital release.
