Back in 2017, South Korean media machine JYP Entertainment put on a reality survival show that would change the world of music forever. Along the same lines as American Idol or America’s Got Talent, the series would group together contestants to become the next big boy band.

The idea was to put together the most talented kids in the country to create a brand-new band. The show was called Stray Kids — and once the final nine contestants made the cut, that became the name of the band itself.

Proving that the band could work together to make awesome music writing all of its own songs, JYP launched its career with album production and the video release for the song “Hellevator.” From there, the band came out with its first EP, Mixtape. Since then, Stray Kids has taken the world by storm, becoming one of the hottest international acts of the 2020s.

Currently, there are eight members of Stray Kids. Bang Chan is the leader of the group, singing, rapping, dancing and producing tracks. Han and Changbin also produce and rap, with Han also providing vocals. Lee Know, Felix and Hyunjin are all top dancers, adding vocals and rap licks as well. Seungmin and I.N. are focused on vocals. The ninth member who made it to the end of the show, vocalist Woojin, left Stray Kids in 2019 due to personal reasons.

While mostly born and raised in South Korea, two members, including leader Bang Chan, are actually natives of Australia. That comes in handy when the rest of the band need their press interviews translated into English, as the two Aussies do the honors.

Each of the members have their own individual personalities, allowing fans to focus on the ones they feel they have the most in common with, but they’re known to be introverted offstage. This is pretty much the opposite of their well-worn onstage personas, making them even more intriguing to fans. For example, Changbin is known for being “dark” on stage, but in his own life, he’s known to be a little more easygoing and even funny.

Since its debut in 2017, Stray Kids has made hundreds of appearances on other South Korean reality shows, often to support other aspiring artists competing for the limelight as it once did. The band has also shown up on popular Korean drama series, delighting the nation’s TV audiences, and making lots of music every step of the way.

In that time, it dropped two full-length LPs: 2020’s Go Live and 2021’s Noeasy, supporting the records with two world tours from 2019 to 2022, with another one on the horizon for 2023.

When the band is not busy making music and appearing on TV, it gets busy racking up loads of awards. It won dozens of official accolades for everything from best rookie band to best male artist to best video in top competitions like the Asian Artist Awards, Genie Music Awards and MTV Europe Music Awards. Omg! Stray kids was amazing! We got really nice seats for a reasonable price and has a blast all night. It was actually a surprise for me. My mom and sister planed it. We drove past the Watsco center and of corse being the hard core stab that I am I knew stray kids was performing there. I started screaming and then they turned around and handed me the tickets. It was such a great experience and the group was absolutely amazing. The concert was so great and I am looking forward to attending more.

Stray Kids is one of my top three kpop groups so finally being able to see them was a dream come true. The performance being in an actual theatre means that everything echos, even the screams which got annoying but other than that it was an amazing experience. They are so loving and caring towards their fans and they love having fun with us. I love them so so much, if you have a chance to see them please do.

Absolute best concert I've ever been too. Stray Kids are my bias group so it was more than amazing to see them, and my friend bought us really close P2 seats so we could see all of the members clearly. It was an amazing show, they performed a lot of my favorite songs and it was super hype. Definitely worth getting closer up tickets and I highly recommend stanning Stray Kids and going to their concert.

AMAZING CONCERT. It was really really fun I’m sure I lost a few pounds during that time. It was very interesting to see the performances and all the little things put together for us during the show. everyone was respectful and there was even a random dance play before it started. Stray kids are amazing. They’re all so talented, hardworking, humble, and generous. They really deserve WAY more recognition! Their concerts are amazing. They sound amazing live! Also, there was a ton of interaction with fans and they even played some games with us. It made everyone in the stadium feel involved. They kept telling us how much they appreciated us. Felix lifted up his shirt and did a belly roll. Bang Chan went sleeveless. What more can you ask for? The sound quality was awesome. It was perfect.

It was super great. The energy was amazing from the artists and the fans. Everyone was really friendly. It was so wonderful I loved it. The only thing is that I wish there was more merch being sold because it sold out fast. Still though, best concert I've been to so far. Can't wait to see them again.

Really enjoyed the concert!! They didn’t take many breaks like usual groups do so it was packed full of performances! This is a really talented group and you will be blown away with their live vocals. I really liked how they treated the back up dancers, too! So kind and energetic.

SKZ NICHT in Deutschland?

Würde mich nicht wundern wenn SKZ nur noch für Festivals kommen. Sieht man ja an Milan und London. Für Deutschland ist nichts angesagt. Ich habe ja die Hoffnung fürs Deutsche Lollapalooza gehabt aber die haben Skz Nicht bekommen. Dafür sind sie in den USA beim Lollapalooza. Scheinbar hat JYP nur Festivals geplant für SKZ in Europa

Stray Kids Unveils Dates And Locations For World Tour’s European Leg

Stray kids sets off to visit another part of the world as the boys announce their tour’s continuation in europe.

Stray Kids will continue their mission to circle the globe in order to greet their beloved Stays with their hardcore performances as they announce dates and locations for their world tour’s European leg.

Grabbing the attention of fans in the international scene, the group’s latest concert showcase UNVEIL TOUR “I AM…”  took them to several countries around Asia, Australia, and the United States. In May 2019, the tour had its “last” show in Houston after gathering thousands of fans during its entire run since January 2019, especially for its U.S leg.

However, Bang Chan, Woojin, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N all revealed that they do not plan on stopping there.

On June 5, the group unveiled their plans to dominate Europe also using their beautiful vocals, fiery raps, and sleek choreography to be showcased live as part of their continuing UNVEIL Tour ‘I AM…’ world tour.

The tour’s European leg will kick off on July 28 in London’s O2 Academy Brixton. Afterward, the group will make the City of Love witness their heart-stopping, intense performances as they head out to Paris. Marking a one-night special experience for Stays in the country on July 30, the show will be held at Les Docks De Paris – Pullman.

Fans in Germany will also get to see the nine boys take over Berlin’s Verti Music Hall on August 2. Finally, the group will make the stage of Adrenaline Stadium in Moscow all theirs – together with their ever loyal and supportive Stays – on August 4.

The group will be visiting additional cities in Asia, Australia, and the United States for part of their “MANIAC” world tour. Included are the rescheduled dates for the Atlanta and Fort Worth stops, which were previously postponed in July after some members tested positive for COVID-19.

Stray Kids is heading abroad on a world tour!

On March 7 at midnight KST, Stray Kids officially announced their plans for their long-awaited second world tour “MANIAC.”

After kicking things off with two nights of concerts in Seoul on April 30 and May 1, Stray Kids will head to Japan, where they will perform in Kobe from June 11 to 12 and Tokyo from June 18 to 19. The group will then travel to the United States to perform in Newark on June 29, Chicago on July 1, Atlanta on July 3, Fort Worth on July 6, Los Angeles on July 9, Oakland on July 12, and Seattle on July 14—before returning to Japan for two nights of concerts in Tokyo on July 26 and 27.

However, fans outside Japan and the United States need not be discouraged: according to Stray Kids, the group will soon reveal more dates and cities for the upcoming tour.

Meanwhile, Stray Kids is currently gearing up for their highly-anticipated comeback with their new album “ODDINARY.” Check out their latest teasers here !

Stray Kids: Is there a SKZ World Tour 2024 country list?

STAYS, are you ready to go absolutely and utterly broke? Because I am, and I’ll gladly do so. The rumors of Stray Kids doing a world tour have been running rampant, with the boys teasing plans. But the rumors are now a reality – yes, we’re crying in poverty.

The confirmation came during the annual 2024 Step Out video series released on Jan. 1. The Stray Kids members reminisced about their past year and all they achieved, all while teasing everything that’s to come – which includes a world tour (cue my shriveling screams).

The rumors of a possible tour have been circulating for a while now . After JYP released the Q2 earnings call, we quickly noticed those little letters at the end saying, “Stray Kids is also expected to host a global stadium tour in 2024.” The biggest question that remains, though, is are the SKZ tour dates out.

Which countries are Stray Kids going to on the world tour?

While Ticketmaster already has a webpage for the upcoming SKZ world tour, the countries and dates have not yet been announced. Now that the group has officially teased plans for the world tour (and two new albums!), it’s only a matter of time before we can finally get our hands on tickets (if we’re lucky, that is).

During their first world tour in 2019, Stray Kids performed in South Korea and across the US. In 2022, their second world tour, “Maniac,” took them to even more places across the globe, including Japan, South Korea, the United States, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Australia. Considering their skyrocketing popularity, hopefully, we’ll see them in all of these places and more .

So get ready, STAYS . The official date list is coming sooner than later, and if you want to save up a bit of money beforehand, do it now.

Here’s What We Know About a SKZ World Tour 2024 Country List

The 2024 World Tour of Stray Kids (SKZ) hasn’t been named yet, but some STAYS are already releasing a list of countries that will be part of the tour. There are conflicting lists on TikTok and Twitter, and other STAYS are hopeful that the group will be having a concert in their countries.

There’s also speculation about ticketing ever since SKZ announced their 4th World Tour on their ‘Step Out 2024’ video. The group revealed a lot of plans for the year, from new album drops to fan-meet events, among other exciting things.

For any STAY who wants to go to a concert that’s part of Stray Kids’ 2024 World Tour, they might as well start looking for accommodations and saving up for flight tickets in case the group won’t be coming to their countries. As of right now, there has been no official announcement from JYP regarding a country list for tours. Many STAYS have already expressed fear that the group might miss their country if they go on a worldwide tour, but that fear should be saved for later, given that there’s no news from Stray Kids about where they’ll be touring.

The Maniac World Tour by Stray Kids in 2022 (extended to 2023) included Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Australia, and the U.S. Hopefully, locations in Europe and South America will be added for the 2024 World Tour, given the high volume of STAYS streaming their latest songs in Mexico, Poland, and Finland.

Given the announcement, STAYS could keep their eyes on Stray Kids’ event calendar at the JYP website, but it shouldn’t take too long for the group to announce where they’ll be touring.

Germany’s Leader Walks a Fine Line in China

Chancellor Olaf Scholz tried to promote German business interests while delivering warnings from Europe about trade and geopolitical tensions.

Chancellor Olaf Scholz of Germany tried to strike a delicate balance on a trip to China this week, promoting business ties with his country’s biggest trading partner while raising concerns over its surge of exports to Europe and its support for Russia.

Mr. Scholz met with China’s top leader, Xi Jinping, at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing on Tuesday, the culmination of a three-day visit with a delegation of German officials and business leaders. He also met with Premier Li Qiang as the two countries navigate relations strained by Russia’s war in Ukraine and China’s rivalry with the United States, Germany’s most important ally.

Throughout his trip, Mr. Scholz promoted the interests of German companies that are finding it increasingly hard to compete in China. And he conveyed growing concern in the European Union that the region’s market is becoming a dumping ground for Chinese goods produced at a loss .

But Mr. Scholz chose a conciliatory tone over a combative one in his opening remarks before sitting down with Mr. Xi on Tuesday morning, in a meeting that stretched over three hours and turned into a walk and lunch.

It was the German leader’s first visit to China since his government adopted a strategy last year that defined the Asian power as a “partner, competitor and systemic rival ,” calling on Germany to reduce its dependency on Chinese goods.

Germany’s economy shrank last year, and its weaknesses have exposed a reliance on China for growth. Energy prices have risen because of the war in Ukraine, which has been facilitated by Beijing’s support for the Kremlin. German companies have pushed for more access to China and complained that they face unfair competition .

The chancellor visited German companies with extensive investments in China and met with trade representatives and officials in the sprawling industrial metropolis of Chongqing in China’s southwest and in Shanghai and Beijing.

At a talk with a group of students in Shanghai on Monday, Mr. Scholz fielded a question from a student who planned to study in Germany this year, who said he was “really worried” because the country had partially legalized cannabis. “When you study in Berlin, you can run around the whole time and never meet anyone who does that,” the chancellor assured him.

But he also used the platform to push more serious messages about trade. “Competition must be fair,” Mr. Scholz told the students. “We want a level playing field,” he said.

Mr. Scholz’s trip was an example of the difficult dance that Germany is trying to do: maintaining economic ties with China while managing U.S. pressure to align itself more closely with Washington against Beijing.

In his meetings, Mr. Scholz highlighted Germany’s commitment to doing business with China, but he also warned that Beijing had to curb the flood of Chinese goods into Europe. At the same time, he expressed reservations about the European Union’s investigations into China’s use of subsidies for green technology industries, saying that any discussion about trade must be based on fairness.

“This must be done from a position of self-confident competitiveness and not from protectionist motives,” Mr. Scholz told reporters on Monday.

China’s manufacturing push in green sectors like electric cars and solar panels has touched off trade disputes with Europe and the United States, where such industries have also received government support. But with 5,000 German companies active in the Chinese market, Germany stands to lose more than many of its European partners would if Beijing were to retaliate against the European Union.

“If the E.U. goes too hard against China, we could expect countermeasures and this would be a catastrophe for us,” said Maximilian Butek, the executive director of the German Chamber of Commerce in China.

“For us it’s extremely important that the Chinese market remains open,” he said.

In his meeting with Mr. Xi, Mr. Scholz indicated that Russia’s war on Ukraine and its arms buildup were high on his agenda. “They directly affect our core interests. Indirectly, they damage the entire international order,” he said in opening remarks at the meeting, a transcript of which was provided by Mr. Scholz’s office.

Despite pressing the issue with Mr. Xi, he did not appear to win the commitment that he had sought from the Chinese leader to take part in an international conference for Ukraine planned in June. Germany had hoped that China could use its influence over Russia to help work toward a peace agreement.

Germany would also like China stop selling goods to Russia that have potential uses on the battlefield, and Mr. Scholz told reporters that he had brought up the issue in his meeting. “The point has been made,” he said. “There can be no misunderstanding about how we see things.”

China is hoping to drive a wedge between Europe and the United States by courting leaders such as Mr. Scholz. State media reports depicted his visit as demonstrating the strength of China’s relations with Europe, playing up its economic ties with Germany.

In his opening remarks to Mr. Scholz, Mr. Xi said cooperation between China and Germany, which have the second- and third-largest economies, was beneficial to the world, a remark that could be read as directed at those who have urged Berlin to distance itself from Beijing.

“The two countries should view and develop bilateral relations from a long-term and strategic perspective and work together to inject more stability and certainty into the world,” Mr. Xi told Mr. Scholz, emphasizing the importance of seeking “common ground.”

Beijing is sure to welcome the message that German businesses are committed to China. The Asian giant is trying to court foreign investment to reinvigorate its economy, which has faltered because of a housing slowdown. Some Western businesses and investors have also been rattled by Mr. Xi’s emphasis on national security, which they regard as making it riskier to operate in the country.

From China’s perspective, Germany may be its best hope of delaying or watering down any trade restrictions from Europe, said Noah Barkin, a senior adviser in the China practice at the Rhodium Group, a research firm.

German carmakers have invested billions of dollars in China, and much of their revenue comes from there. Many worry that if the European Commission imposes higher tariffs on Chinese exports, and Beijing retaliates, German businesses will suffer most.

Chinese officials “know that German companies are heavily invested and they use that politically to influence political decision making in Berlin,” Mr. Barkin said.

Germany’s biggest companies, including BMW, Mercedes-Benz and BASF, have large operations in China and strong, effective lobbies in Berlin, Mr. Barkin added. Executives from those companies, along with several others, traveled with Mr. Scholz to China.

“The supply chain in China is stuffed with German goods,” said Joerg Wuttke, a former president of the E.U. Chamber of Commerce in China. “If China has a price war with Germany, then no one will make money anymore.”

Mr. Scholz also brought along the German ministers for agriculture, the environment and transportation, officials who experts said would be particularly interested in working with China.

“You set an agenda with these three ministers, the tonality is overall a cooperative one, these are areas that we want to work on,” said Janka Oertel, director of the Asia Program at the European Council on Foreign Relations.

Chinese officials, for their part, have brushed off the European accusations of unfair trading practices, calling them groundless and an act of “ typical protectionism .” They have hinted that they could retaliate for any actions taken by the European Union, saying that China was “strongly dissatisfied with and firmly opposes” its investigations.

In an interview with the German newspaper Handelsblatt, Wu Ken, China’s ambassador to Germany, said the competitive edge of Chinese electric vehicles “relies on innovation, not subsidies.”

“The challenge faced by developed countries lies more in the fact that Chinese companies are more efficient,” the ambassador said.
