Amy Slaton Halterman, of TLC’s ’1000-lb Sisters,’ arrested at Tennessee Safari Park

ALAMO, Tenn. (WMC) - Amy Slaton Halterman of TLC’s “1000-lb Sisters” was arrested at the Tennessee Safari Park on Labor Day after a camel bite reportedly led to a drug bust inside the reality star’s vehicle.

The Crockett County Sheriff’s Department says that deputies were called to the park in Alamo, Tennessee, on Monday after a guest was bitten by one of the park’s camels.

Upon arriving at the guest’s vehicle, deputies “were immediately overtaken by suspicious odors” coming from the car, which sat Halterman, Brian Scott Lovvorn, and two children.

1 dead, 2 people missing after boat crash in Old Saybrook, Connecticut

One person has died after a boat crash in Old Saybrook on Monday night, two others are missing and five people are in the hospital. The search for the missing boaters was suspended overnight and resumed Tuesday morning .

A 31-foot motorboat carrying nine people struck a jetty at the mouth of the Connecticut River around 9:15 p.m. Monday while returning from Block Island, according to the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection EnCon Police.

Several 911 calls came in about the crash and rescue crews found the boat half submerged and significantly damaged.

One man was found dead in the vessel and six people were taken to the hospital, according to DEEP. The boat operator is in critical condition, Captain Keith Williams, of Connecticut Environmental Police, said Tuesday morning.

Williams said he believes one person has been released from the hospital. The extent of the injuries the others suffered has not been released.

The investigation is ongoing, but Williams said they believe all nine people are friends who went to Block Island for the day.

The capsized boat was recovered from the river on Tuesday and it was pulled from the water around 11:30 a.m.

Williams said Tuesday morning that the tide was coming in when the boat crashed.

Multiple agencies, including police and fire crews from several nearby towns, the State Police Dive Unit, and a helicopter from the U.S. Coast Guard station on Cape Cod were searching for the missing boaters.

Williams said crews remain in search and recovery mode.

Amy Slaton Halterman, a star of “1,000-Lb. Sisters,” was arrested at a Tennessee zoo and charged with drug possession and child endangerment, according to police.

Deputies from the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department responded to Tennessee Safari Park in Alamo, about 80 miles northeast of Memphis, after a guest reportedly was bitten by a camel.

When they arrived, the deputies “were immediately overtaken by suspicious odors coming from the guest’s vehicle,” the sheriff’s department said .

Amy Slaton Halterman, a star of “1,000-Lb. Sisters,” was arrested at a Tennessee zoo and charged with drug possession and child endangerment, according to police.

Slaton was arrested and charged with illegal possession of schedule I and schedule VI drugs and two counts of child endangerment.

It’s unclear what drugs were allegedly in her possession.

Brian Scott Lovvorn was also in the vehicle and hit with the same charges, cops said.

The pair were booked at the Crockett County Jail.

No additional details were immediately available.

During Season 1 of “1000-Lb. Sisters,” which premiered in January 2020, Slaton weighed more than 400 pounds.

Slaton and her estranged husband, Michael Halterman, split up last year in a messy divorce.

Halterman requested that the court “enter a civil restraining order” that would keep both parties “500 feet from one another at all times” and make them stay “500 feet from the residence of the other party.”

Slaton and Halterman had eloped in 2017 before having a formal wedding in 2019, which was documented on the popular TLC series.

Brian Scott Lovvorn was also in the vehicle and hit with the same charges, cops said.

They separated less than a year after Slaton gave birth to son Glenn Allen in July 2022. Her other son, Gage, was born in November 2020.

During Season 1 of “1000-Lb. Sisters,” which premiered in January 2020, Slaton weighed more than 400 pounds.

After undergoing gastric bypass surgery, she dropped an additional 136 pounds, putting her weigh-in at 275 pounds.

1000-Lb. Sisters star Amy Slaton (also known as Amy Halterman) was arrested on Monday (Sept. 2) in Tennessee and charged with drug possession and child endangerment.

Slaton, 36, and Brian Scott Lovvorn were both arrested in the parking lot of the Tennessee Safari Park after police arrived to investigate an incident of a visitor being bitten by a camel, per Page Six .

When authorities approached Slaton and Lovvorn’s car, they were “immediately overtaken by suspicious odors coming from the guest’s vehicle,” per a Facebook post from the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department.

Subsequently, Slaton and Lovvorn were both arrested on illegal possession of Schedule I, illegal possession of Schedule VI, and two counts of child endangerment.

“The charges and allegations referenced in this release are merely accusations of criminal conduct and not evidence,” the Sheriff’s Department post notes. “The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and convicted through due process of law.”

Slaton and her sister Tammy are the subjects of the TLC series 1000-Lb. Sisters , which has run for five seasons on the network. The two women — who weighed over 1,000 pounds combined at one point —  have had their lives chronicled on the show since 2020, revealing everything from their relationship issues to weight loss surgery and family life.

Amy had been married to her husband Michael Halterman up until 2023, when he filed for divorce. The former couple share two children, Glenn and Gage.

Season 5 of the show concluded in February 2024; it’s unclear if and when Season 6 will air or if Amy’s arrest will be featured on the show.

Fake engineer: A top South African railway official is sentenced to prison for forged qualifications

A former top official at South Africa’s state-owned passenger railway company has received a 15-year concurrent prison sentence for faking his engineering qualifications and other cases of fraud

CAPE TOWN, South Africa -- A former top official at South Africa's state-owned passenger railway company received a 15-year concurrent prison sentence on Tuesday for faking his engineering qualifications and other cases of fraud.

Daniel Mtimkulu, 49, resigned as the head of engineering at the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa, or PRASA, shortly before he was arrested in 2015. He was convicted of three counts of fraud and forgery in 2022 over fake university qualifications and a forged job offer from a rival company that resulted in executives at PRASA nearly doubling his salary to keep him.

Mtimkulu was sentenced to 15 years for the first count of fraud and six years in prison for each of the other two counts. A judge at the special commercial crimes court in Johannesburg ordered that the sentences be served concurrently.

As PRASA’s head of engineering, Mtimkulu was behind a deal worth more than $100 million to buy dozens of new train locomotives from Spain, which were then found to be too tall for South Africa’s rail network and couldn’t be used. The big-money contract was one of several at PRASA that have been linked with alleged bribes and kickbacks.

Investigators have said there was rampant corruption and mismanagement at some of South Africa's biggest state-owned businesses between 2009 and 2018. A report last week by a special unit that is investigating high-level corruption said that more than $7 billion may have been lost to graft at some of those state-owned companies, including PRASA.

Mtimkulu claimed to have a master's degree from a university in South Africa and a doctorate in engineering management from a university in Germany, neither of which were true. He also faked a job offer from a German company that resulted in his salary being increased from around $90,000 a year to $155,000 a year.

The judge ordered him to pay back $323,000 to PRASA, which police said were the proceeds of crime.

The Internet is Not Forever, So It's Time to Preserve What You Can

Chrome is top dog, but firefox is still my favorite browser, why you shouldn't sign in with google or facebook, quick links, keeping safari updated, how to update safari in system preferences.

It's a good practice to keep your web browser constantly updated for security reasons , but Apple Safari on Mac doesn't have an update button. Here's how to keep Safari updated.

Every year, Apple releases new features for Safari, and you usually install them without realizing it because they're linked to macOS updates that you get in System Preferences.

But because Safari is a browser, Apple often lets you update to the latest version of Safari without installing the next big OS release. For example, while Safari 14.0 came bundled in macOS Big Sur , macOS Catalina users can still update to it. Apple also provides regular security updates to older versions of Safari, which is the main reason why  we recommend that you keep it updated .

Related: Why You Should Update All Your Software

To update Safari, you'll have to use the Software Update feature in System Preferences. To get there, click the Apple icon in the top-left corner of the screen.

In the menu that appears, choose the "System Preferences" option.

In System Preferences, click "Software Update."

The Software Update panel will show you whether there are any software updates available for your Mac. If there are, you have two choices.

If you want to install the latest operating system along with the latest version of Safari, just click the "Update Now" button and follow the process.

Related: Why You Should Update Your Web Browser

If you only want to install an update to Safari, click "More Info" under the list of available updates to see a detailed list of all updates.

After clicking "More info," a panel will appear listing the updates available for your Mac. Make sure that the "Safari" update is selected, and uncheck "macOS" if you don't want to install a system update along with it. When you're ready, click "Install Now."

After a while, the Safari update will be installed on your Mac.

Once the update process is finished, you can safely quit the System Preferences app using the red Close button in the corner of the window.

Since this process is somewhat confusing and non-obvious, we recommend enabling the auto-update feature to keep Safari and your Mac updated. Good luck!

Look and feel

Unlike years past where Apple has provided Safari with more under-the-hood changes, this year, the update is apparent with Safari taking on a fresh coat of paint. Visually, it looks cleaner and more compact than it did before.

Those changes all come to the redesigned unified search bar. Instead of splitting tabs into a top and bottom row, it is all crammed together into a single row. Tabs slide left to right, and when you select a tab, it becomes the combo URL/search box. By combining the active tab with the URL box, Apple has reduced the space requirements significantly.

Toolbar options for Safari 15

To help fit everything in, Apple employed a few other space-saving measures. Some buttons have been relocated behind an ellipsis in the URL box. You can tap the ellipsis for the share button, add to bookmarks/reading list option, and the reload button.

Moving the page reload button may cause some frustration, but it is still possible to use the keyboard shortcut CMD+R. That makes the button less critical, so hiding it behind the ellipsis will free up some much-needed space for most users. If you did routinely use the refresh button, Apple's repositioning is less than ideal.

Toolbar customization options for Safari 15

Fortunately, you can still customize the top bar. You can right-click the bar to bring up the customization option, and you can drag and drop the remaining toolbar items where you'd like them.

Safari's toolbar adjusting for AppleInsider (left), YouTube (center), and Apple (right)

Another neat feature of the toolbar is its ability to change color. When you visit different sites, the Safari toolbar will take on the color of any site you land on. When visiting AppleInsider, the toolbar takes on AppleInsider's dark blue. Visiting YouTube turns the bar white and visiting Apple's iPhone 12 Pro mini-site makes it black. This creates a more cohesive visual experience where the toolbar doesn't stand out.

Apple made a few modifications to the start page this year, most relating to syncing across your various devices. When you set your background for the start page, it can sync to any device you're signed in to with your Apple ID. Set it on your Mac and it will show on your iPad . This is a new toggle located within the settings icon in the lower-right corner of the start page.

That same menu has a toggle to display or hide iCloud tabs on the start page and a "Use Start Page on All Devices" option.

Tab Groups are arguably the most significant feature coming to Safari. The more we use them, the more we enjoy them. If you have a habit of opening a bunch of tabs at once, you likely will too.

Tab Groups in the toolbar

How it works is that you can group any tabs you have opened into different buckets. Create a group for your work tabs, create a group for relaxing, and create one with your financial or banking sites. Then you can jump between your groups as needed, keeping your toolbar clean and organized.

It can also help you focus if you don't have open tabs for Reddit or Twitter while you're trying to work and you don't have to see your work tabs while trying to kick back.

Redesigned Sidebar

You can jump between Tab Groups from the new toolbar option or do so from the redesigned sidebar. The sidebar used to be two tabs — one for bookmarks one for your reading list — but now it is a series of folders for both of those two categories as well as your Tab Groups.

A new Tab Group can be created on-demand at any time from that drop down in the toolbar. It can be an empty group or can be pre-populated with your current open tabs.

Quick Note integration

Creating a Quick Note

Quick Notes is another fantastic new feature that is coming to macOS Monterey as well as iPadOS 15 . It is a system-wide feature that allows you effortlessly create a note with contextually aware app links to make them even more useful. But Safari has its own specific ties to Quick Note.

The ellipsis in the toolbar features a button to generate a Quick Note. You can also create a Quick Note by highlighting a text block, right-clicking, and adding to a Quick Note.

A Quick Note returning

These are easy, and whenever you create a Quick Note with a link to a page, any time you revisit that page in Safari, your note will resurface in the lower-right corner.

Available in beta

The updated version of Safari will land this fall for most users, but you have a couple of options if you'd like to get an early look.

Developers can test macOS Monterey now, though this is strongly discouraged for non-developers and especially discouraged on your daily driver. Apple will be issuing a public beta in July, which is a better option for those eager to give it a try.

Safari Preview

Alternatively, Apple releases what it calls Safari Technology Previews. This is available now for users of macOS Big Sur. You can install Safari 15.0 on your Mac and it will install as a second app, alongside the existing public version of Safari. You can download the technology preview from Apple's mini site.

You will have both Safari 14 and Safari 15 Technology Preview on your Mac. You can test out the new features as much as you want, and if it gives you issues, switch back to the public build and remove the Technical Preview without having any risk.

Otherwise, sit back and be ready for a new Safari experience and much more coming soon.

An abomination. Cramming navigation controls, extensions, tabs and the search field into one bar results in tabs becoming quickly unrecognisable, whilst the full-address can nolonger be easily visualised to confirm its authenticity. That is plainly less functional. Furthermore, the colour-changing toolbar is a fail as either Safari controls become 'merged' with those of the current website, or they seem unnecessarily re-coloured when one scrolls down the page and the actual website header has disappeared from sight. Version 14 seemed to have finally hit a sweet spot, but Safari 15 is trashing sensible UI behaviour as was done with Finder., Alas, not only are they reversing usability themselves, by example Apple are encouraging third-party developers to do likewise.

multiple, cascading menus is not "clean". " The sidebar used to be two tabs -- one for bookmarks one for your reading list -- but now it is a series of folders for both of those two categories as well as your Tab Groups."  That's a weird sense of simplification when you trade "two" for "a  series of". " Another neat feature of the toolbar is its ability to change color."  Really? This is a "feature"?? Neat???  And all those pastel colors are giving me flashbacks to the days of leisure suits, rotating disco mirror lights, and other such "neat" things.   I could go on but I don't think it would be good for my blood pressure

There's an all-new, super secure look for Safari 15 on macOS

First announced at WWDC 2021

Safari 15 on Big Sur

The new version of Apple 's web browser is now here for macOS running Catalina and Big Sur with the official release of Safari 15.

In testing since its unveiling at WWDC 2021 in June, Safari 15 has seen major changes this year, with design updates being rolled back and giving users the option to switch between the older or newer user interface.

While this version will start shipping with macOS 12 Monterey once a release date is confirmed, users running Catalina and later can update to Safari 15 and benefit from improved security features alongside the updated design.

Safari 15 improvements

What’s immediately apparent is the new design that Safari 15 features, with tabs sitting beside the address bar, alongside the entire window adapting to the current web page’s color scheme, so you may see it turn entirely blue or red from time to time.

However you can revert to the previous design by going to Preferences > Tabs > Separate Layout, alongside making sure that the window doesn’t change color by unchecking ‘Show Color in tab bar’.

Under the hood, Safari 15 can switch to a HTTPS connection automatically when browsing, alongside better tracking protection, and a bunch of security updates .

You can update to Safari 15 by going to Software Update > Check for Updates and the new version will be available to download.

How to update the Safari browser on your Mac

Apple has been consistent in updating Safari with new features in the past years, including performance enhancements and some whopping privacy upgrades . The MacOS Monterey update is also giving its browser a new look with Safari 15, a version that includes new web code support for more advanced pages, Passkey support for the iCloud Keychain, highlights to emphasize important information, and a whole lot more.

Step 1: Head to the App Store

Step 2: check your updates, step 3: update safari if available, step 4 (optional): add safari extensions.

If you don’t have automatic updates turned on or are delaying certain updates for your Mac, you may not be able to benefit from the latest features right away. The solution is to manually update Safari itself — and fortunately, it’s quite easy to take care of. Here’s how to do it.

Log into your Mac and go to the App store. You can easily open it by selecting the Apple icon in the top-left corner of the MacOS screen and then select App Store .

When the App Store first opens, look to the left-side menu. Toward the bottom, you should see a section called Updates . Navigate there to check on the status of available app updates.

The Updates section is divided into several parts depending on the status of your apps. There may be a Pending section for apps that are in queue to be updated but need authorization or more time to complete. There could be an Updates Available section for apps that have available updates that haven’t been started yet. And you may also see a Recently Updated section to check on updates that have been recently applied.

Look for Safari in the Pending or Updates Available sections. If you see it look for a blue Update button to the right of the app. If available, select this to begin your Safari update.

Troubleshooting note: If it looks like something is wrong with Safari, such as a pending update that can’t complete or a notice that says something like Unable to Update Safari , then you should try rebooting your Mac and updating again to see if this helps. If it does not work, you should check on your MacOS updates. If your version of MacOS has fallen behind the latest updates for Safari, it may not be available until you complete a more comprehensive upgrade.

Remember, you can typically use this full MacOS update method to update Safari at any time. However, since a MacOS update requires backing up your data and logging out of everything beforehand, it’s not always a feasible option if you’re in the middle of some long-term work. Updating Safari by itself may be a better option.

If you are excited about a new extension that has recently come to Safari, a standard update won’t include it — you’ll have to add it yourself. In the App Store, select the Categories option in the menu. In the list that appears, select Safari Extensions .

Here, you will be able to view the latest extensions and add them to Safari as you prefer. If you want some ideas, check out our list of the best browser extensions .

Reinstalling Safari

Keep in mind that you can choose to delete Safari entirely. If it looks like Safari has a bug or performance issue, deleting the app and reinstalling it is one method of getting everything up to date while fixing your issue. However, the only way to reinstall Safari this way is to reinstall MacOS altogether. You won’t lose any data, but it will take longer to do, so always be careful when deleting Safari.

A note about Safari on Windows

Yes, you can technically download Safari on Windows. However, since Safari 5, Apple has stopped working on this Windows version of the app, so no updates will be available for it. That also means that security and performance for the Windows version have fallen by the wayside, so we don’t suggest using this app at all.

Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is coming up soon, and everyone's expecting a huge announcement around AI. But don't worry, according to a report from AppleInsider, there are some practical tweaks coming to macOS 15 that are in the works. Notably, the System Settings app is set to receive the biggest changes, with other menus and app UIs also expecting some rearranging.

The last update to the Settings app happened with macOS Ventura, changing the name from System Preferences to System Settings and shifting to an iOS-style design, a change that ruffled the feathers of diehard Mac users. This time, the organizational system will reportedly be based on "priority and overall importance."

There’s no doubt that Apple’s best MacBooks have a reputation for long-lasting quality, but what sort of longevity can you expect to get out of one? And just how long will Apple continue to support your laptop? Finally, what are the differences between the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro?

These are no doubt important questions to consider when buying a new MacBook or even considering an upgrade. Here's everything you know about the longevity of your MacBook. Lifespan of MacBook hardware

Your CPU can probably run hotter than you think. In the past, 70 degrees might have set off some warning bells in your mind and within the confines of your PC. But modern processors are designed to run much closer to their thermal maximums when working on demanding tasks, and they can quite comfortably sit there for extended periods of time without it causing any problems.

That's not to say you want to redline your CPU all day every day, and there are definitely some advantages to running your CPU cooler than it can technically reach. But to do that, you need to know how hot your CPU can run, and ultimately, how hot is too hot for your CPU. How hot can your CPU run? While we can't provide an exhaustive list of every processor and their maximum temperatures, the good news is, we don't have to. Both AMD and Intel publish maximum safe temperatures for their processors on their respective websites, so we can look at a few examples, and if your CPU isn't covered, you can easily look it up yourself.

Apple updates Safari 15.6.1 with security fixes for macOS Big Sur and Catalina users

Avatar for Filipe Espósito

Apple this week released iOS 15.6.1 and macOS Monterey 12.5.1 , both with security enhancements. And to bring these security enhancements to even more users, the company today released Safari 15.6.1 for Macs running macOS Big Sur and macOS Catalina.

The update doesn’t come with any new features or major changes. Instead, it fixes an exploit in WebKit (Safari’s web engine) that could lead to arbitrary code execution. This fix was already available for users who updated their Macs to macOS Monterey 12.5.1.

However, users with older Macs that are unable to run the latest version of macOS now have access to the same security fixes in Safari.

Here’s what Apple says about the update on its website :

Available for: macOS Big Sur and macOS Catalina Impact: Processing maliciously crafted web content may lead to arbitrary code execution. Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited.

Apple has attributed the WebKit exploit fix to an anonymous researcher.

Safari 16 coming soon to older macOS versions

With macOS Ventura, which is now available for developers and beta users, Apple has announced Safari 16 with multiple new features. The new version of Safari addresses one of the main complaints web developers have about Apple’s web browser, which is the lack of web push notifications . This means that websites and web apps can now send notifications to users even when Safari is closed.

Other new features in Safari 16 include Shared Tab Group, strong password editing, improved CSS, and  Passkeys  – a new way to authenticate to websites with Touch ID without having to create a traditional password.

Safari 16 will also be available to users of macOS Monterey and macOS Big Sur later this year, once Apple releases macOS Ventura to the public. Developers and invited users can now try out the beta version of Safari 16 for older macOS versions.

As for the Safari 15.6.1 update, it is now available via the Software Update menu within the System Preferences app.

Apple releases Safari 15 for macOS Big Sur and Catalina with Tab Groups, new design, and more

Earlier today, Apple released iOS 15 , iPadOS 15 , watchOS 8 , and tvOS 15 to the public. We’re still waiting for the other big update, though. macOS 12 Monterey is still waiting in the wings, which will bring with it plenty of new features to the desktop OS. But today, Apple’s dangling a carrot for all of us waiting for that new software.

Today, Apple released Safari 15.0 to the public — for those running macOS 11 Big Sur and macOS Catalina . With this new software update, Apple is bringing the majority of new features to Safari it introduced alongside macOS Monterey (and iOS 15/iPadOS 15), without having to bring macOS Monterey to the fore quite yet.

As far as what’s new, Safari itself has a new design. This should make it easier to get around, to navigate from one website to another. There are new tabs, too. Including brand new Tab Groups, making them easy to access across devices, and organize tabs more easily.

Illustration showing an Apple Safari logo set against a blue gradient background

Here is the official changelog for Safari 15.0:

Safari Safari 15 delivers faster performance, improved security, and the following new features: • Tab Groups help you save and organize your tabs and easily access them across devices • Redesigned tabs have a rounder and more defined appearance and take on the color of the webpage • Compact tab bar option shows more of your web page on screen • HTTPS upgrade automatically switches sites from HTTP to more secure HTTPS when available For detailed information on the security content of this update, please visit: https://support.apple.com/kb/HT201222 .

To update to Safari 15.0, simply open System Preferences on your eligible Mac and then choose Software Update and follow the onscreen instructions. Safari 15.0 is a free upgrade to the web browser.

There is a 'legacy' version of Firefox that can be installed that will satisfy most requirements. The mainline version of FireFox will likely not be installable.

Chase Bank is not an authoritative resource on these issues.

However, they have stated that if you want to do business with Chase bank, they require:

  • Supported browsers
  • Chrome 109.0 and higher
  • Firefox 113.0 and higher
  • Safari 16.0 and higher
  • Edge 113.0 and higher

We don't support:

  • Beta or development browser versions
  • 3rd party browser extensions

Ahh... that's nice, fantasy type of thinking, and would be (in the VERY much unlikelihood) Chase would even offer that information .... probably some "head of" IT department, most likely "PC" knowledge driven person. Meaning - they generally have very little macOS knowledge, and don't care anyway.

As a Chase and an Apple card customer - I know Chase really doesn't care about Apple Card profitability or competition either, and unfortunately, my Chase account is a necessary business account.

Because there is great effort needed by many in this type of situation - "The Man" usually wins in the end. :-( Apple wins in this situation, too, because I'm shopping for a new Mac.

Apple Releases Safari 15.6.1 for macOS Big Sur and macOS Catalina With Important Security Fix

Apple today released Safari version 15.6.1 for the older macOS Big Sur and macOS Catalina operating systems. The update includes an important security fix for a WebKit vulnerability that could lead to arbitrary code execution, according to Apple.

safari icon blue banner

Apple released macOS Monterey 12.5.1 , iOS 15.6.1 , and iPadOS 15.6.1 yesterday with fixes for both WebKit and kernel vulnerabilities. As noted by Mr. Macintosh on Twitter , a fix for the kernel-related vulnerability has yet to be released for macOS Big Sur or macOS Catalina, but it's unclear if that vulnerability affects those operating systems.

I wish Apple would make Safari on iOS a standalone app so it can be updated independently of iOS

Phantom iCloud tabs Avatar

I thought theoretically they had separated most of the core apps, but I still don’t recall ever seeing an update for them outside of a full OS release or point release. And yet they still choose certain apps that can’t be uninstalled. On the iPhone I can’t think of anything that can’t be uninstalled except maybe App Store itself, but on watch and Mac ironically News for example is there to stay, like it or not.

hagar Avatar

Exactly. Shutting the whole system down for an hour to update some minor chunk of code in Safari is atrocious design.

ccsicecoke Avatar

Your post makes absolutely zero sense. The benefit is we would get app updates immediately when there are issues instead of having to wait for an entire iOS update to get them. There wouldn’t be a million different configurations, it would be exactly the same as it is now. Apps could just be updated at the same time, just like iOS updates are updated at the same time.
