At Floating Amsterdam you can rent a private boat with a captain and host(ess). While our captain leads you through the canals of Amsterdam, you can enjoy a delicious dinner or lunch on the open boat. A burger, pizza or extensive buffet … everything is possible. Our host(ess) will provide you with your lunch or dinner and accompanying drinks.

We can arrange a lunch for every budget. For example, if you just want 2 cheese sandwiches for each guest, you can. But you can also expand the lunch with fruit, luxury fillings, a croquette, raw vegetables, a pasta salad or perhaps a hot meal. Send us your ideas and we can put together a nice package for you.

Simple or extensive dinner

What are Dutch Pancakes?

Dutch Pancakes (Poffertjes, as we call them in Dutch) are a traditional Dutch treat made of wheat flour and buckwheat flour. Dutch Pancakes are similar to pancakes but smaller and more fluffy. To make it fluffy, yeast is added to the flour. The original way to serve Dutch Pancakes is with icing sugar and a lump of butter. But ofcourse we also offer other options. Canal cruise review

We tried in February 2024 a one-hour Lovers canal cruise ourselves. We departed from Prins Hendrikkade 25 which is next to Central Station. The staff aboard was friendly and helpful. We received a free audio tour that was available in 19 languages . Although we know a lot about Amsterdam ourselves we still heard many new fun facts. In the map above you can see some of the picture locations we passed by. This is just a handful of some of the great picture locations . You can keep your camera on the table in the boat because you will have a new great picture moment almost every minute. The temperature inside of the boat is pleasant since there are electrical heaters near your seats. The chairs are not too big, and you will sit at the table with 3 chairs on each side. If your body weight is above average we recommend you to take this boat in low hours so you probably have more space. Or to consider a boat that’s a bit more spacious with the seatings.

Good to know that there is a toilet on board, and it would be highly appreciated if you tip the captain and the crew some change. Overall we liked the trip, and the hour flew by.

The private dinner cruise is suitable  for up to 5 people . Once you are seated on our floating dinner table, we will hand you out the menus from the restaurants of your choice. Those restaurants are all located on the Amsterdam canals, so they can easily serve the food into our boat. From one restaurant you can choose the starter and from the other one you can choose the main course. If you decided to go for a 3 or 4-course private dining experience, there will be more than 2 restaurant choices possible.

During the tour you will pass by the  most scenic architectural buildings  of Amsterdam. But also Amsterdam’s points of interest, like the point of seven bridges, the Anne Frank Museum and also the Red Light District will not be missed. The 2-hours private dinner cruise is an unforgettable experience to  celebrate a special evening  with your friends, family or to surprise your partner with this private romantic luxury dinner cruise. A floating candlelight dinner experience on the Amsterdam canals!

What is the price for a private dinner cruise Amsterdam?

The price for a 2-hours private dining experience in Amsterdam is  starting from 430 EUR incl. tax + the food you order from the restaurants and the drinks you choose  next to your welcome drink. On average, a 2-course dinner with our cooperating restaurants can range between 35-50 EUR per person, depending on your choice of dishes. You can order from our minibar a selection of organic white and red wines (per bottle) as well as Heineken and Hertog Jan Beer. The wines we serve are organic wines from  Chateau Amsterdam  and we have either  Heineken  beer or local beers from a microbrewery. Do you have a favourite drink you can not miss during a perfect dinner? Let us know and we try to arrange it for you!

In addition to that, we are also able to provide a  3-course or 4-course private dinner cruise . The recommended cruise time is 180 minutes. Please get in touch with us for scheduling an extended private dining experience with serveral courses.

Equipped with ice-breaking technology, these huge fancy yachts are the only river cruisers running all year around. The round trip journey takes two and a half hours and floats past all the big sights like the White House, Novodevichy monastery and the Kremlin. There’s a large open air observation deck up top, while the main body of the ship houses a restaurant with a dance floor for a romantic post dinner dance. For a particularly romantic experience take one of the evening boats and admire the bright lights of the city skyline at night.
