Our family of 5 had an awesome time sailing the Moby! Ladd and Tracy were so sweet and took great care of us! They took us to see dolphins, we did snorkeling in two different areas, my kids jumped from the top of their boat and we even did some fishing! Our sons were so excited to catch a blue fish and a Spanish Mackerel. To top it all off, Tracy took a lot of amazing photos of us as a family, candid photos and action photos and she sent them to us a couple days later to cherish forever. Please book them on your trip, you will NOT regret it!

Ladd and Sebastian were great! They let us choose where we wanted to go, what we wanted to do and how long we wanted to be there. We were very thankful for their expertise as well. We went to find dolphins first, to avoid the choppy water. Found a pod of 4 dolphins and they were amazing. We were also able to reel in a few fish off the back of the boat! Then we came into the bay to snorkel for a bit. Decided we wanted to go to deeper water to jump off the boat. Ladd took us over to the harbor and parked us perfectly. Bonus: they took pictures of us having fun and emailed all the pictures the next day. Loved the fact that it was just our family of 5. Overall great experience. Kids: ages 8, 11, 13.

Here we make it easy with check-in on the boat and we ask that you arrive 15 min ahead of time. In the summer we add add a fun shuttle boat ride, where marine life can be spotted along the way on your fun-filled ride to the Gulf of Mexico!

We give a 10-12 minute parasail flight , the longest in Destin. Do the math on the harbor boats that hold 12-15 passengers. They are unable to provide the parasail times they quote. Captain Bill was a pleasure to sail with! Helped me surprise my husband for his birthday. He went above and beyond to help us make this birthday special. We went sailing on the boat named 20/20(highly recommend!) for a sunset cruise. He knew the right time to see the sun go down and from the best place on the water! He also had a cooler on board with water or if we wanted to put anything in it we could. Our sailing adventure took us to crab island area. We seen the big pirate ship, dolphins and the gorgeous sunset! It was perfect!

Highlight of our first time in Destin. Captain Bill is great. His calm quiet presence was perfect for us. Dolphins surrounded our boat, saw a Blue Heron and Loon. Saw dolphin calves jump out of the water. Captain Bill asked us what was important for us to see.

So how does it work? If you want to have a Destin Dinner Cruise, you can have your dinner prepared by Artistic Catering , a local caterer Captain Pam works with and highly recommends. You are responsible for planning the catering once you book your trip, and the caterer will deliver the food to the boat on the dock. Or you can order take-out from a local restaurant and bring your food with you on the boat.

If you prefer to bring food and drinks from your favorite restaurant, Captain Pam recommends some of her favorite local restaurants. Some of her favorites include Harbor Docks , Moe's Barbeque , The Local Market , and Burrito Del Sol . You can place a pick-up order at these restaurants and bring your food onboard when you arrive at the dock.

Dinner Cruise Ideas

You can have a dinner cruise during any of our charters. For example, you can have a picnic on your snorkeling tour with the family. Or you may plan a romantic dinner with your sweetheart on a Sunset Cruise. Or you can arrange to have appetizers and drinks on a Fireworks Tour. We scheduled this as a surprise for my best friend’s birthday. She loves dolphins, so I was really hoping we would actually see some. Jason was really fun and made it interesting. The water was a bit choppy, but that was fun too. We finally found a whole family of dolphins, with a baby and we had so much with them! It was a great time.

Our family of three enjoyed the cruise, Destin is beautiful when your on the boat you get to really see it’s water. We did see a couple dolphins and fed some of the birds. They have refreshments on board if you’d like to drink and captain hats that my son fell in love with. At the end they gave my son a small treasure. It’s a great way to end the evening watching the sunset on the cruise.

This was our 2nd dolphin cruise with Southern Star. Per usual it did not disappoint! The captain was super knowledgeable and told us all about the bay’s history as we toured the bay. He also knew exactly where to find the dolphins and made sure everyone got a good view! It was just fantastic!

This was my family's first dolphin sighting cruise and it did not disappoint. We had a charming captain and he made sure we learned the history of the area as well as saw dolphins, manta rays, all kinds of jelly fish, and sharks! The beautiful waters made it easy to see in and the size of the boat was perfect! Would recommend to anyone.

This is such a great family experience! Kid and adult friendly entertainment. Shot a cannon and hoisted up a real live treasure from the sea! My son is still singing the songs he learned. Would highly recommend!

Our kids had a blast! It was fun watching the kids and parents play pirate games together. The crew included ALL age groups. The cruise was beautiful as well. They sell snacks, pirate toys and adult beverages! It’s WELL worth the money!

We took our 4, 2, and 1 year old boys on the cruise while on vacation and the crew of the ship was able to interact with each one. The kids all got booty and still talk about the pirates and the swords and pistols. Well worth the money!

We loved every minute of this pirate adventure! They’re very entertaining and the kids enjoyed the whole experience a lot. We went home and my kids still pretended to be pirates. Highly recommend it!

This was an amazing experience! We were entertained the entire cruise. My 6 year old and 7 year old boys loved the experience. My husband and I had a blast as well. Definitely recommend this experience for families visiting the city.

Our kids loved it! The ride was nice for adults as well. Lots of fun activities and the crew never lost enthusiasm. My son is convinced he rode a real pirate ship with pirates! He’s talked about it nonstop since. Definitely money well spent!

I absolutely enjoyed this trip. I was a volunteer for a field trip and the kids had a blast. The staff entertained the kids and it was awesome. All of the staff were very friendly. I would definitely do this cruise again!

My 4 year old is pirate crazy and he had an absolute blast! I also took my 12 and 13 year old along with my wife. We all had a great time. This was the highlight of our vacation. Highly recommend. Would give it 6 stars if it were an option!

According to Taylor Swift, “Florida!!!” is “one hell of a drug.”

Swift released her highly anticipated album "The Tortured Poets Department" at midnight on Friday, April 19, with some extra special nods to the Sunshine State.

"Welcome to New York," from Taylor's "1989" album might have a run for its money with her new Florida-centric song. The former may be the anthem blasting in the mind of every 20-something girl that moves to New York City, but "Florida!!!" has the makings of a new unofficial Sunshine State anthem.

And fans are theorizing that the song could be about Swift and Joe Alwyn's breakup, which happened while she was touring in Florida on the first leg of her record-breaking "Eras Tour" in 2023.

What do we know about 'The Tortured Poets Department?'

As USA Today's Taylor Swift reporter Bryan West says, the track titles are brutal .

Swift announced the album at the Grammys, when she won her 13th career Grammy for pop album of the year. Post Malone and Florence and The Machine are both featured on the album.

Fans speculated the album is mostly about Swift’s six-year relationship with English actor Joe Alwyn and their breakup. Both stars kept the relationship out of the public eye, but this album gives fans more leverage to guess at what happened between the two.

But there's also songs that are seemingly aimed at other figures in Swift's life, good and bad. Florence Welch is the powerhouse lead vocalist for the English indie rock band "Florence + the Machine." Welch is known for several hits over the past decade, such as 2009's "Dog Days are Over," 2011's "Shake it Out" and 2015's "Sweet Nothings" collaboration with Calvin Harris.

"Florida!!!" is the first time Swift and Welch have collaborated on a song together.

“Florida!!!” is a pretty grungy, dark song about trying to separate yourself from a bad or painful situation and going to Florida to forget about it. You be the judge of if it’s reflective of the Sunshine State or not.

Swift told iHeart Radio that after getting inspiration from crime shows, she thought of where she'd go if she needed to reinvent herself.

"I think I was coming up with this idea of 'what happens when your life doesn't fit' or 'the choices you've made catch up with you' and you're surrounded by these harsh consequences and judgement," Swift said. "And circumstances did not lead you to where you thought you'd be."

The opening line is “You can beat the heat, if you beat the charges, too. They said I was a cheat, I guess it must be true.”

Building up to the chorus, Swift sings a line that no-doubt has Florida’s tourism industry cooking up ideas:

“Little did you know your home’s really only a town you’re just a guest in. So you work your life away just to pay for a timeshare down in Destin .”

“Flowers are always appropriate,” says Becky Pavlic Edge of Pavlic’s Florist , 116A Benning Drive in Destin behind Sexton’s Seafood. 

Edge said she got that piece of advice from a customer when she was first starting out in the flower business more than 50 years ago and never forgot it.

And if you’re looking to order flowers for mother and have them delivered for her special day – now is the time to get those orders in. 

“Mother’s Day is the biggest holiday for flowers,” Edge said, noting orders have been coming in already. 

“If you think ordering two or three days before is early ... it’s not,” she said. By then, she’ll already have 150 orders in front of you. 

So, now is the time to get those orders in. 

“The sooner the better,” she said. 

Most order a mixed spring arrangement. But if you know what color momma likes, they can add that in. 

Edge said the traditional flower for mom is carnations. Red carnations signify that her mother is still alive, while the white signifies her mother has died. 

Whatever the order, “the sooner the better,” Edge said.

Dining out is always a good treat for mom and especially on Mother’s Day. 

Brotula’s Seafood House and Steamer on Destin harbor at 210D Harbor Blvd. will serve brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Sunday starters on the menu for brunch include crispy fried calamari, hot crab dip, house smoked tuna dip with pita chips, celery and carrot sticks or crispy fried crab claws flash fried and made with Remoulade sauce to name a few. 

Also included on the brunch menu are salads such as a black-and-blue chicken salad as well as a side salad made with assorted greens, tomatoes, red onions and Ranch dressing. 

The lunch/brunch menu includes such delights as burgers, sandwiches, shrimp and grits, a Southern Chicken Benny, Southwestern omelet, French toast to name a few. 

Seafood platters and waterfront buckets are always available for brunch as well.

Dolphin cruise

Has mom ever seen a dolphin up close? Or has she been for a cruise around the harbor, bay and even out into the Gulf of Mexico? 

Well, a trip aboard the Southern Star Dolphin Cruise boat would check all those boxes. 

The Southern Star, “Destin’s original dolphin cruise,” as touted on its website, has been featured on CNN and National Geographic. The Southern Star docks at HarborWalk Marina behind Margaritaville.

Aboard the 80-foot, double-decked boat, mom will get the chance to see seabirds, other marine life and of course dolphins. The boat holds 140 people, has an air-conditioned cabin and bathrooms. 

On Mother’s Day, the Southern Star has two cruises scheduled. The first sets sail at 4 p.m. and the other at 6 p.m. for the sunset dolphin cruise. 

Both cruises, which are narrated, last an hour-and-a-half. Although no coolers are allowed aboard the vessel, they do offer hotdogs, snacks, soda, beer and wine. 

Reservations are suggested. Also, if you cannot make it out on Mother’s Day for the dolphin cruise, gift cards are always available for mom to use another day.

Float Brothers Float Spa is not your usual spa. 

Located at 4463 Commons Drive W. in Unit 10B, Float Brothers is open every day but Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Moms will also get a gift to go with the float. 

“Customers can choose between a soap, a couple of bath bombs or a towel,” Hineline said. 

Appointments can be scheduled for that day or people can buy a gift card and then mom can come float whenever, he said. 

What makes Float Spa different? 

"It’s the Epsom salt ... getting the noise and cutting the chaos, checking in with your breath and being in an anti-gravity environment,” Hineline said. 

“It takes a lot of pressure, both mentally and physically, off your body and the stress of what motherhood is all about,” Hineline said. 

Float Spa has started a nonprofit and will be giving free floats to pregnant moms on Wednesday, May 8.

SunQuest Cruises aboard the Solaris Yacht will be celebrating mom with two cruises on Mother’s Day, brunch and sunset. 

The Solaris, docked at Baytowne Marina in Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, is a 125-foot yacht with three decks of indoor and outdoor spaces that cruises around Choctawhatchee Bay, according to the Sunquest Cruises website. 

The Mother’s Day Brunch Cruise is two and half hours, while the Sunset Dinner Cruise is 3 hours. 

“Make reservations as early as possible,” said Samantha Moeller, business development manager with Sunquest, noting there are 149 spots for each cruise. 

What to expect on the brunch cruise? 

A two-course brunch with a waterfront view. There will be a full-service bar open to purchase mimosas, Bloody Marys and more, according to its website. 

What to expect for sunset dinner cruise? 

A three-course meal with live entertainment as the sun sets on Choctawhatchee Bay. Music can be heard on all three decks. And your ticket for the cruise includes iced tea, coffee and water. The bar will be open to purchase drinks.
