The 1975 Announce The ‘At Their Very Best’ North American Tour

Earlier today, The 1975 released “Happiness,” the harmonic new single from their upcoming album, Being Funny In A Foreign Language . Due out on October 14th, the new album is the band’s fifth release and first since 2020’s Notes on a Conditional Form. But after canceling their 2021 tour , the band has now announced the At Their Very Best North America tour for 2022.

The tour begins on November 3 in Uncasville, Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun Arena and presses on through November and December. They’ll go West before coming back East and wrap things up on December 12th at Pittsburgh’s UPMC Events Center.

The 1975 have given fans another taste of what to expect from their upcoming album Being Funny In a Foreign Language with "Happiness."

“‘Happiness’ is like… there’s literally loads of us in the room on that track,” singer Matty Healy explained in a new interview . “[It] really doesn’t really have much structure. It came through like jamming, and we haven’t done that in like years. So we just wanted this record to be really like a captured moment and not be too constructed and even produced that much.”

“We did it in like a day or so, and it’s us having fun," he added. "And I think that there’s this real desire in art to see something remarkable with as little technology as possible. Do you know what I mean?”

"Happiness" is the second single off the album, following "Part of the Band." Listen to it above.

Being Funny In a Foreign Language is slated for an October 14 release, and the band announced a slew of North American tour dates to support it. See a full list of dates below.

The 1975 Announce Late 2022 North American Tour Dates 

The 1975 announced plans for North American tour dates through November and December of this year, playing at arenas and theaters primarily in the U.S. with a stop each in Mexico and Canada along the way. The English band is touring in support of their upcoming album, Being Funny In A Foreign Language , due out on October 14.

Tickets for The 1975 tour dates are on sale next week, available to the general public beginning on Friday, August 12. There are presales throughout the week leading up to that, including an artist presale beginning on Monday, October 8 that can be accessed through signing up on the band’s website. “Official Platinum” tickets are already available in at least some markets, including New York.

Tour dates for the band launch on November 3 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut, and continue through a December 17 performance at UPMC Events Center in Pittsburgh on December 17. In between, stops include Madison Square Garden in New York, The Anthem in Washington, D.C., State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Moody Center in Austin, The Forum in Los Angeles, and Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. The group is also playing a pair of shows in Japan in August prior to their tour getting underway.

The tour is to support the Manchester band’s forthcoming LP ‘ Notes On A Conditional Form ‘, with fans who pre-order the record getting access to the general sale.

The album was due to come out in February but earlier this month Matty Healy told fans that the release was to be delayed until April 24 .

Speaking to fans on Instagram Live, the frontman said he was “sorry to fuck you about,” while confirming that the follow-up to 2018’s ‘A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships’ has been pushed back.

“We have been finishing our album, so we’ve been very busy,” Healy began. “It takes like three months or something to physically make a record on vinyl so it comes out on the 24th of April, I think. Sorry if that’s annoying or whatever.”
