Skid Row Announce ‘The Gangs All Here’ 2022 Australian Tour

Get ready for some ~Monkey Business~ because Skid Row is heading our way later this year for the first time since 2018.

The 80’s glam rock icons are coming down under this December under the banner of The Gangs All Here tour.

However, contrary to what the title indicates, the Skid Row gang will not be all there. Frontman Sebastian Bach remains estranged from the group, with Swedish Idol star and powerhouse vocalist Erik Grönwall, formerly from the band HEAT, filling in on vocal duties.

The name of the tour actually refers to the band’s rockin’ new single, which you can take for a spin down below!

To sweeten the deal, Finnish glamsters Reckless Love and Aussie hard rock band Wicked Smile will complete the triple threat of hard rock across stages in Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

Erik Grönwall was born into the music world winning Sweden’s Idol in 2009. Following his Idol commitments he played the role of Simon Zealots on the NBC’s live TV broadcast of Jesus Christ Superstar alongside Alice Cooper, joined Swedish band H.E.A.T. before his successful battle against leukaemia. Grönwall is the perfect match to SKID ROW .

RECKLESS LOVE join the tour armed with a brand-new album, Turborider . The band played a few shows in Australia in 2020 on the eve of the pandemic world shutdown collecting a swarm of new fans along the way.

Skid Row To Tour Australia With New Singer in December

Skid Row will be back in Australia in December with new singer, former Swedish Idol winner Erik Grönwall.

The band, with Rachel Bolan (bass), Dave “Snake” Sabo, Scotti Hill (guitars) and Rob Hammersmith (drums), will release ‘The Gang’s All Here’ , their first album since 2006, on October 14.

Finland’s Reckless Love and Australia’s Wicked Smile will open the shows.

Skid Row is one of the most popular and endearing Heavy Metal bands to come out of America. The apex of the group’s career took place in the late 80s and early 90s; however they are still actively performing and recording.

The band formed in 1986, but did not have a stable line up until the following year. The group was started by New Jersey natives Rachel Bolan who played the bass and Dave “The Snake” Sabo the group’s guitarist. In addition to those founding members,the band congealed into a core lineup consisting of vocalist Sebastian Bach, guitarist Scotti Hill, and drummer Rob Affuso.

The band had gathered somewhat of a following touring small clubs throughout the east coast of the United States. The group was in a way taken under the care of Sabo’s long-time friend Jon Bon Jovi and was signed by Bon Jovi’s manager Doc McGhee. Things started to fall into place for the band after that. They entered in a record contract with Atlantic Records in 1988 and subsequently recorded their debut self-titled album with renowned producer Michael Wagener who was responsible for producing works for Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne and White Lion. Soon after recording their debut the band landed a stint opening for Bon Jovi on their “New Jersey tour”.

The album came out on 24 January 1989 and was an instant success. It peaked to No. 6 on The Billboard 200 and was loaded with the following 3 top 10 hits: “18 and Life”, “I Remember You” and “Youth Gone Wild”. Since the album’s release it has sold over 5 million copies and despite critics previous tendencies to pan heavy metal albums it managed to score positive reviews.

The band hit the road again with rock giants Aerosmith and entered in the studio to record their follow up album “Slave to the Grind” with Wagener. Their sophomore release came out in 1991 and marked a stylistic change for the band. Their sound was more stark and raw and incorporated experimental styles such as speed metal. Despite the band’s deviation from the mainstream rock sound they went on to repeat the commercial success that they experienced with their first album. “Slave to the Grind” put the band at No. 1 on the American charts and saw them opening for Guns N’ Roses.

The band released their third album “Subhuman Race” in 1995. Though it would not match the success of their first two albums, it managed to chart in the top 40s. The band promoted this release by opening for Van Halen.

The lineup of Skid Row dramatically changed with the departure of lead singer Sebastian Bach. Although the band did not release an album until 8 years later, they did continue to tour. Some of their dates were with KISS. The band would go on to release one other full length album “Revolutions per Minute” and also played their biggest show ever, playing the Polish Woodstock to over 500,000 attendees.

Live reviews

When I read that Skid Row were returning to my city I immediately became excited. I had seen them perform nearly 20 years ago. Upon arriving at the venue, a rush of excitement ran through me. This concert was going to be amazing.

I found my seat and waited for the show to begin. Behind the stage, a large screen showed clips from prior performances. The crowd was excited before the band even took the stage.The lights went on and the band started to perform "Monkey Business." The singer looked different. It wasn't Sebastian Bach. I asked someone who it was. They said it is Johnny Solinger. I soon forgot the absence of Sebastian Bach. This singer was amazing. When he sang "18 and Life" and "I Remember You" he sounded as as good as Sebastian.

I felt like I was seeing the real Skid Row. The band sounded better than ever.Towards the end of the set, they played a few new songs. The crowd seemed to love these songs as much as the old songs. This made me very hopeful for the future of the band. Even with the loss of members, they have managed to continue and get better. Overall, the show was great. The singer was amazing. His vocals were so clear, I couldn't believe he was actually singing live. I look forward to seeing Skid Row again.

This concert was awesome! All of the bands that played were great. I hadn't been to a concert recently so I went to see Skid Row with a friend of mine. At the Starland Ballroom. Skid Row was the best it was my first time seeing the new lead singer with the band. You did a great show! I checked their tour dates and they've heading overseas for a while. Hope to see Skid Row again sometime in the future. David

Fantastic! Energetic, great vocals, acoustics well balanced. Animated. My only complaint is I was front center, rocking out like a tornado in a trailer park, but the lead singer rarely lingered in middle. He was at one side or the other, as were the others. Felt invisible. No connection. I can have that at a large venue. Aside from that, it was a great show.

Skid Row is an awesome band to see live! The jam during Monkey Business with Dave Sabo and Scotti Hill was mad cool, and all five members have endless energy. These guys are clearly doing what they love, and I love seeing them live! Skid Row will forever be the Youth Gone Wild!

The show was awesome. Great set list, basically the whole first 2 albums plus a Ramones song.

New singer is good but not great.It was a little too loud and too much high end so it was a little hard to hear all the solos clearly.Overall,they kicked was and would go again

Venue sucks (Turning Stone Casino). Had a good view from the "Kings Tables" -but, tables, @ a effing Rock & Roll show.. bad enough there's chairs at the stage..

Doors opened @ 8pm.. Got there at 20 min past & SR was already on stage and it was over by 925. Lame.

Skid row did a GREAT job. I was pleasantly surprised because their original lead singer left some BIG shoes to fill. But the new guy has a great voice and is a really great front man. (of course no one will ever be Sebastian). But he totally brought it.

The show was great. The supporting bands were equally as good as Skid Row.

Quireboys rocked the place and the drinking contest on stage was a lovely touch.

Could do with more sellers though located in a better place as very crowded

Awesome show! Hollowstar, Crash Diet, and The Quireboys were on point as well. Engine Rooms is a quality little venue!

Skid Row Australia Tour Postponed to May 2023 Attention fans in Australia. We regret to advise that due to Snake’s re-scheduled neck surgery, the upcoming SKID ROW Australian tour in December will be postponed to May 2023 to give Snake the proper time to heal. Silverback Touring head, Danny Bazzi, says that "health and family should always take precedence and we fully support both the band and Dave and wish him the best of luck and a speedy recovery. We are grateful to fans for selling out two of the four shows well ahead of the band's arrival and ask that you hold your tickets for the May dates as they will all be honoured. If you cannot attend the new dates, you may seek a refund from your point of purchase, subject to some processing conditions. It’s a new era for Skid Row. With a new album, a new single and a world tour, the band has added a new voice as they welcome powerhouse vocalist Erik Grönwall, formerly from the band HEAT out of Sweden.

Fans received their first glimpse of Grönwall in Las Vegas on 26 March as the band took up a residency in support of The Scorpions and gauging from the live clips and online commentary surrounding the performance, the band, made up of Rachel Bolan  (bass), Dave “Snake” Sabo , Scotti Hill  (guitars) and Rob Hammersmith  (drums) have a renewed vigour and energy with classic era Skid Row sounding better than it ever has.

What is most exciting for fans is the band has a new album recorded and gearing for a late 2022 release led by the brand new single, “ The Gang’s All Here ”, which has all the tell tale signs of the classic Skid Row sound.

Silverback Touring are pleased to announce that Skid Row  will be returning to Australia for the first time since 2018. The band has enjoyed a three decade strong relationship with Aussie fans with their shows always receiving rave reviews and leaving fans gasping for more. Fans who are familiar with Grönwall will know the frontman for his dynamic vocal range and showmanship, the perfect match to the impressive unit made up Bolan, Sabo, Hill and Hammersmith.

Joining Skid Row will be Finnish melodic rock act, Reckless Love , who visit Australia on their first multi city tour downunder. The band, who enjoy a cult like following in Australia, come armed with a brand new album, “Turborider”.

Rounding out the line up are Australian hard rock band, Wicked Smile, who in a short period of time have established themselves as one of Australia’s leading hard rock acts on the back of their dynamic live shows and brilliant debut album “Wait For The Night”.

Australia, you are in for a treat with a triple threat summertime hard rock.

Skid Row Announce Australian And NZ Tour

Multi-platinum selling band SKID ROW will embark on a full Australian tour this October whilst also hitting Auckland New Zealand.

It will be the first time Australian fans get to see former Dragonforce singer ZP Theart up front and he will be joined by guitarists Snake Sabo & Scotti Hill, bassist Rachel Bolan and drummer Rob Hammersmith!

Skid Row started in 1986 when a group of New Jersey kids, armed with their punk and metal attitude, and a collection of riff-heavy, high-octane songs, set out to conquer the world, one concert at a time. This determined and focused approach proved to be an unquestionable success, as the group went on to clock up numerous Top Ten singles, Gold and multi-Platinum selling albums and a Number 1 on the Billboard album chart. In other words, the world was theirs.

They might have conquered the world several times over, but guitarist Snake Sabo admits the success hasn’t changed him or the band, and Skid Row are focused on making more earth shattering music. He says: “I will always be that 16-year-old kid in front of the mirror, pretending to be Ace Frehley or Michael Schenker. It’s still about writing a great song with your friends, praying it connects with someone. That has never left me. That willfulness will always exist, and there’s so much left to say!”

Now, SKID ROW is gearing up to record the final instalment of the United World Rebellion trilogy. Recording new songs means capturing the signature SKID ROW energy for drummer Rob Hammersmith. “That sound and energy is what resonates with people and knocks them on their ass! We have a lot of great ideas to work with, so we’re all really excited about this new music.”

As the energy for the new album and tour is reaching fever pitch, enter ZP Theart. “I’ve been a mad fan of this band since I was a teenager, and to now be a member of SKID ROW, is beyond any sense of my imagination!”

About Skid Row

Skid Row is an American heavy metal band that was formed in Toms River, New Jersey in 1986. The original lineup consisted of lead vocalist Sebastian Bach, guitarists Dave “Snake” Sabo and Scotti Hill, bassist Rachel Bolan and drummer Rob Affuso. The band released their self-titled debut album in 1989, which was certified 5x platinum. Their 1991 album “Slave to the Grind” was the first heavy metal album to enter the Billboard 200 at number 1. Other hits from the band include “Youth Gone Wild”, “I Remember You” and “18 and Life”. Skid Row has been nominated for two Grammy awards and have released six studio albums throughout their career. They are currently working on their seventh studio album.

SKID ROW Cancels Remaining Australian Tour Dates Due To Singer ERIK GRÖNWALL Persistent 'Flu-Like Symptoms'

SKID ROW has canceled the remaining dates on its Australian tour.

The decision to scrap the rest of the shows comes just two days after the band canceled its concert in Brisbane, Australia because singer Erik Grönwall fell ill with the flu.

Earlier today, SKID ROW released the following statement via social media: "TO THE SKID ROW FAITHFUL IN AUSTRALIA! We have some unfortunate news to share regarding our remaining tour dates in Australia.

"First and foremost, we want to apologize for the cancellation of our initial concert date in Brisbane. We were truly disappointed that we couldn't perform as planned, and we appreciate your understanding. That said, after last night's show in Sydney, Erik 's flu-like symptoms have persisted. We prioritize the well-being of our band members, and after careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the remaining Australian tour dates.

"We understand that this is disappointing news, and we share your frustration. This decision is not an easy one. Please know that we are already working swiftly to reschedule these dates as soon as possible. Our management and promoters are actively exploring options, and we will keep you updated on any developments regarding the rescheduled dates.

"To those who have purchased tickets, we kindly ask for your patience and understanding as all tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates. We apologize for any inconvenience and cannot wait to make it up to you in the very near future.

"Thanks for your understanding and continued loyalty. You are truly the best!"

SKID ROW 's four-date Australian tour was originally slated to take place in December 2022 but was rescheduled due to guitarist Dave "Snake" Sabo 's neck surgery.

Erik , who made his recording debut with SKID ROW on the recently released studio album, "The Gang's All Here" , spoke to The Rock N' Roll & Coffee Show about how he has been accepted by the band's fans since he joined the group last year as the replacement for ZP Theart . He said: "There's so many different types of fans. I've realized that… 'Cause when we did the show in California, [some] people came up to me after the show, and they were, like, ' Sebastian [ Bach ], you've still got it.' [ Laughs ] Yeah, that happened. Then you have the fans who still think that Sebastian is in the band, and then you have the fans who know the whole story."

Erik went on to say that he isn't bothered by the fact that some fans are still clamoring for a reunion of the band's classic lineup.

"I understand the fan perspective of wanting the original lineup — I understand that — because I'm a Bon Scott guy myself," he explained, referencing AC/DC 's late singer. "But I think that people are really excited about this new album, and I feel like even the people who want the original lineup are actually starting to approve."

He added: "When I joined this band, I realized that it's such a privilege to have people so interested in the band, talking about the band, discussing everything. A lot of bands would kill for that, and that's a privilege. You have all these people talking about SKID ROW and they like that singer or they like that song or they like that era, and that's just incredible, having people so excited about it or hating it. [ Laughs ]"

Bach fronted SKID ROW until 1996, when he was fired. Instead of throwing in the towel, the remaining members took a hiatus and went on to play briefly in a band called OZONE MONDAY . In 1999, SKID ROW reformed and, after a bit of shuffling over the years, featured a lineup consisting of bassist Rachel Bolan and guitarists Dave "Snake" Sabo and Scotti Hill , alongside drummer Rob Hammersmith and singer Johnny Solinger . SKID ROW fired Solinger over the phone in April 2015, a few hours before announcing ex- TNT singer Tony Harnell as his replacement. Eight months later, Harnell exited the band and was replaced by Theart , the South African-born, British-based singer who previously fronted DRAGONFORCE , TANK and I AM I .

"The Gang's All Here" arrived in October via earMUSIC . The group recorded most of the LP in Nashville, Tennessee with producer Nick Raskulinecz , who has previously worked with FOO FIGHTERS , STONE SOUR , HALESTORM , EVANESCENCE , RUSH and ALICE IN CHAINS , among many others.

Grönwall , who auditioned for the competition show "Swedish Idol" back in 2009 by singing a cover of SKID ROW 's "18 And Life" , joined SKID ROW in January 2022. Theart , who had been in the group for more than six years, played his final gig with SKID ROW in February 2022 before being officially given the boot.

Grönwall was a member of the Swedish hard rock band H.E.A.T. with whom he recorded four studio albums — "Address The Nation" (2012), "Tearing Down The Walls" (2014), "Into The Great Unknown" (2017) and "H.E.A.T II" (2020) — before exiting the group in October 2020.

In September 2021, Grönwall announced that he was cancer free after receiving a bone marrow transplant. "Some anonymous wonderful human being somewhere in the world donated his/her blood cells so that I could get a second chance at life," he told Headbangers Lifestyle in January. "Sometimes I can just get tears in my eyes when I think about it. It's so beautiful that one person who is not connected to me in any way wanted to do that for me. He/she doesn't know that the blood cells were for me. It's completely anonymous."

In September 2021, Grönwall released his cover version of SKID ROW 's "18 And Life" via all streaming platforms.

In 2018, Grönwall debuted in the U.S. for 10 million viewers in NBC 's live broadcast of Andrew Lloyd Webber 's and Tim Rice 's musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" . Along with John Legend , Alice Cooper , Sara Bareilles and others, Erik played the key role of Simon Zealotes .
