What to wear on a wine tour?

Depending on the time of year you go, you'll want to dress to match the season. In summer, smart casual clothing is acceptable and we also recommend sunglasses or a hat for any protection when your outdoors. FROM VINE TO BOTTLE, THE STORY OF THE WINE-MAKING PROCESS

Spend a morning or afternoon discovering the colourful history of the vineyard, the growing popularity of English wines and learn how we produce our award-winning English wines on a tour and tasting session. Stroll through the vines (weather permitting) as we introduce you to the hybrid grape varieties that thrive in the Holme Valley and explain how we manage the vineyard, also answering any questions you may have. Gain a fascinating insight into the production process on a tour of the winery before quenching your thirst by sampling a selection of our wines with expert guidance. The standard tour costs £12.50 per person.

Vineyard Tour and wine tasting for 2 people | £25 

Visit the Holmfirth Vineyard to soak up the amazing views of the Holme Valley and learn all about wine making in Yorkshire

The vineyard tours last approx 60 - 90 minutes and the are run twice a day, 10.30am and 3pm. Booking is essential.

During the tour you will learn about the history of the vineyard, the different grape varieties we grow, the challenges we face and how the wine is produced. The tours involve walking through the vines which is steep and uneven ground.

As part of the tour you will also be guided through a tasting session where you will try 3 of our Yorkshire wines.

Please bring suitable outdoor clothing and footwear as the weather may be unpredictable.

Lunch or Dinner with Vineyard Tour & Wine Tasting for 2 | £75

Enjoy a delicious 2 course lunch in our tasting lounge with stunning views overlooking the Holme Valley ,then enjoy a guided tour of the Vineyard to learn about the different grape varieties we grow, the challenges that we face and the production process. Finish the tour with a guided tasting session of 3 of our home grown Yorkshire wines.

Vineyard tours run at 10.30am and 3pm. Lunch is served from 12pm until 2.45pm.  Dinner is served from 5pm until 7[,.

Afternoon tea consists of freshly prepared finger sandwiches, homemade savouries, delicious cakes and desserts plus the classic scones with jam and cream. All this is washed down with a glass of sparkling wine (or a soft drink) and either a pot of Yorkshire tea or freshly brewed filter coffee.

Also included is a guided tour of the vineyard in which you can learn about our history, the different varieties of grapes we grow and the production process. At the end of the tour you also get a guided tasting session where you can enjoy 3 of our Yorkshire wines

Tours run twice a day, 10.30am and 3pm. Afternoon tea is served between 12pm until 5pm.

Our experiences range from guided tours and tutored wine tastings to lunch in our restaurant and overnight stays. All have been designed to give our guests a relaxed insight into our vineyards and winery, whilst having the opportunity to take in the stunning surroundings of our Tenterden estate.

Guided Tour & Tasting

Enjoy a guided tour of our vineyards and winery where you will learn about the vineyard cycle, the English grape harvest and the intricate process of Traditional Method sparkling wine. The experience includes a tutored tasting of a selection of our award-winning sparkling and still wines.

WGS 84 coordinate reference system is the latest revision of the World Geodetic System, which is used in mapping and navigation, including GPS satellite navigation system (the Global Positioning System).

Geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) define a position on the Earth’s surface. Coordinates are angular units. Longitude is counted from the prime meridian ( IERS Reference Meridian for WGS 84) and varies from −180° to 180°. Negative longitude values correspond to the geographic locations west of the prime meridian (abbrev. W).

UTM or Universal Transverse Mercator coordinate system divides the Earth’s surface into 60 longitudinal zones. The coordinates of a location within each zone are defined as a planar coordinate pair related to the intersection of the equator and the zone’s central meridian, and measured in meters.

Elevation above sea level is a measure of a geographic location’s height. We are using the global digital elevation model GTOPO30 .
