Croatian cellist duo Luka Ć uliÄ and HAUSER , also known as 2CELLOS , have achieved extraordinary success with their spirited instrumental arrangements of classical and film music, and pop and rock melodies.

RIOPY Tour Announced for February 2023
RIOPY⯠FEBRUARY 2023 TOUR
Tickets on sale on Friday 7 October
RIOPY is a pianist and composer who wants to change the world, one note at a time. Following a sold-out European tour which included a capacity crowd at Londonâs Union Chapel, RIOPY â the self-taught Franco-British pianist/composer with more than half a billion streams to his name and an album which has been at the top of the US Billboard charts for over 100 weeks â now undertakes his first UK tour. With support from Adam Naas , the live dates are: February 2023 Wed 1 LONDON Cadogan Hall Thu 2 BRISTOL St Georges Fri 3 MANCHESTER Stoller Hall Sat 4 GATESHEAD Sage Sun 5 LEEDS Howard Assembly Room Wed 8 EDINBURGH Queens Hall Thu 9 BURY ST EDMUNDS Apex Fri 10 COVENTRY Warwick Arts Centre Sat 11 CANTEBURY Gulbenkian Arts Centre Sun 12 SOUTHAMPTON Turner Sims Concert Hall Born in rural France, his mother left home with him when he was six months old, eventually joining a cult, where family ties were discouraged - and obedience to the head guru was paramount. Deprived of any outside culture, young Jean-Philippe taught himself to play on an abandoned piano when he was two, making up songs in his head, then performing them. RIOPY was drawn to the piano as it allowed him to focus on creating music from scratch, quiet his mind from his OCD anxieties and to retreat into his own private world. âI understood tones, sounds and numbers, because Iâd always been counting,â he says. âPlaying piano was the only place I felt safe. I discovered something new every time I sat down at the piano. It was the only thing I enjoyed doing. And even if I wasnât at the piano, Iâd play music in my head to cope with stress.â
He left for the UK in his twenties and his fortunes changed when he was given a Steinway piano by Coldplayâs Chris Martin. He has since channelled his troubled past into his music, which serves as a source for positivity, mindfulness and solace to millions around the world. With three Warner Classics albums RIOPY , Tree of Light and [Extended] Bliss already finding a worldwide audience of more than half a billion, a new album is expected early next year. He is also noted for creating powerful and expressive music for brands (IKEA, Mercedes, Peugeot, Armani and Samsung) and film trailers (The Danish Girl, My Turner, The Shape of Water and The Sense of an Ending), as well as documentaries for the BBC, ITV and Channel 4. For the UK tour, RIOPY is supported by Adam Naas.

DONNY OSMOND NOSTALGIA OVERLOAD AT THE AO ARENA MANCHESTER 29TH NOVEMBER 2023
- December 3, 2023
- UK Concert Reviews
- by Desh Kapur UK-Editor/Photographer
WORDS AND IMAGES BILLY SEAGRAVE
Donny Osmond brought his 2023 UK Tour to the AO Arena Manchester , he promised a trip through his career a touch of his Vegas show, a montage of his life over the decades, more important to the loyal fans many who have travelled with him since those heady and manic days in the early 70âs, it would be close and personal.
Donny Osmond is a legendary music star who has been performing for over six decades. He is one of the biggest teen idols of the 1970s and has continued to reinvent himself over the course of his career. He has sold over 100 million records, received 33 gold records, and had three UK No.1s, nine UK Top 10s and 13 UK Top 40s. Now in his 65th year, Donny Osmondâs latest album is called âStart Againâ , and it was released September 2021. It is his 65th album and his first solo full-length album in seven years. He co-wrote and produced all the songs on the album, a remarkable statistic. He has also starred in musicals such as Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and provided the singing voice of Shang in Disneyâs Mulan .
As the Band gather on the stage as well as the dancers Donny, emerged through the theatrical smoke screen, to rapturous applause from the predominantly female audience, opening with âSoldier of loveâ, and followed by âSacred emotionâ, and âWhoâ, Then it was the first real step back to those teen idol days, as âPuppy Loveâ, filled the arena with that feeling of love and emotion, for so many, was it really 1972? Next up was a real clever, well-rehearsed, as the Auto-rap-ography, a rap song accompanied by milestones, photos, and videos from his impressive career.
The next part of the show was a real gift to the fans, which saw him taking requests from the fans, although shorted versions of any song he has ever recorded, the first request was âThe 12th of neverâ, and there was a real buzz of excitement, as Donny saidâ I have been told not to thisâ, as the crowd sensed what was about to happen. âI am coming down there with youâ. Finding a spot and standing on a chair absolutely swamped by adoring fans, âAny dream will doâ, was a mass singalong, trying to move around the floor, was a skill as the fans had made a mass exodus of there seats, âToo youngâ, a Nat King Cole cover saw our host making his way further foraging into the crowd before finally returning to stage.
Donnyâs connection to his audience is special, stories antidotes and thanks for all he has received all these years from a fanbase that has stayed true and loyal, will we see any of our current artists survive 6 decades, and still filling arenas? Only time will tell.
A little segment of stories around, âBenâ, originally wrote for him, which led to Michael Jackson recording and âOne bad appleâ, led up to âWeâre having a partyâ, brought us to the interval.
Returning to the stage with the huge backdrop, showing all the Osmondâs all singing, âLove me for a reasonâ, with Donny taking live vocals for his part, explaining that was the last video he ever did with his brothers. For the fans another powerful and poignant moment. Then it was a segment of his Vegas show, âDonnys back in town/Come rain or shine/Viva Las Vegas/Luck be a ladyâ, montage had the fans at the front of the stage and in full party mode.
The tributes where not over, Andy Williams , who gave the Osmondâs their break, was given a great accolade, as âMoon Riverâ, was played, The Beatles âIn my Life was the backdrop to his thanks to Marie, with some great videos of there shows. As âOn and onâ, and âLetâs all dance âended a classic show, a musical journey few have ever had or embarked on, an artist that has reinvented a stage career, over the decades, for those loyal fans they left feeling the warmth of nostalgia, taking home that early Christmas present.

Six Reasons Why Going To Gigs Alone Is The Best
So you want to go see that metalcore band you love but none of your friends like that âshoutyâ music? Or you REALLY want to go check out that new artist on TikTok you discovered but all your mates wonât go to a gig where they only know one song? Or worse, your group of friends cannot get themselves organized and work out which show and when to go on a tour, so youâre worried youâll miss out on tickets. Let them be miserable and start living your best life by going to concerts by yourself. Trust us, itâll be the best thing youâll ever do!
Going to gigs alone can be daunting. What am I going to do with myself in between sets? Are people going to think Iâm weird? Why would I not want to share the experience?
Listen, we are all for sharing the experience, but sometimes itâs either missing out or going alone, and in those cases we definitely recommend going alone. Hereâs a few reasons why youâll never regret it once you build up the courage to go through with it.
1 . See artists you really REALLY want to see
Imagine the FOMO of missing your favourite band on their new tour, hearing all those new songs live, seeing everyone post about it. Donât let that happen, and get that ticket. Plus you then get to tell the pals who didnât want to come how you saw that band or artist before they blew up or how they played that one B-side track that everyone loves â now who has FOMO?
2. Meet new friends
Itâs no secret that music brings people together. That moment when everyoneâs favourite ballad hits and thereâs not a dry eye in the building, you turn to your left or right and suddenly you bond with a stranger over your favourite song. For the metalheads, we also recommend mosh pits, follow the rules of the pit but what a way to make new friends!
3. The freedom
Now hear us out â but going to a gig alone means you can get to the venue when you want, you can go to the loos when you want, you can stand in line at the merch for hours and no one will ask if youâre sure you want to wait. And no one will drag you home when you want to wait after the show has finished and find every piece of confetti or ask for the setlist.
4 . Itâs a cult
You are not alone in going to gigs by yourself, youâd probably be surprised by how many people do the same thing. Some fan groups even have entire sub cultures of going to gigs alone (shoutout to Frank Turnerâs solo armada, we see you!) â bringing us back to reason #2, new friends.
5. Confidence boost
Going to a gig by yourself will do wonders for your confidence. Sure the first time might feel a bit awkward and weird, but isnât it always? Remember your first day of school? And then it was kind of okay after a while (letâs ignore our teenage yearsâŠ) Once youâve done it and experience all of the divinity of a solo gig youâll feel free as a bird.
6. Experience the music your way
Whether you love hanging out by the bar, need to be front row, prefer seats or want to leave a bit earlier to catch the last train â the world is your oyster! The experience is yours, you donât need to coordinate with someone else, rely on them to enjoy the show as much as you are and have as much of a good time as you are. And frankly, if you took a chance on a new genre or new artist and it isnât your vibe, you can just go home. Glorious.
So there you have it â doesnât sound too bad now does it?! At the end of the day it all comes down to you and your artist, a concert will always be a shared experience whether with strangers or friends. The most important thing to do is have fun.
Your next gig awaits
It all starts here.
Create memories to last a lifetime
Whether it’s your favourite band, an evening with friends, discovering new artists or the seventh show on the tour, we are your go-to home for all things live music.
Don’t miss out on the biggest announcement and keep checking back for latest news and last chance tickets.

FrĂ©dĂ©ric Chopin : Polonaise-Fantaisie in A-flat, Op. 61, for solo piano Sergei Rachmaninoff : Suite no. 1 âFantaisie-tableauxâ, Op. 5, for Two Pianos Intermission Alexander Scriabin : Piano Sonata no. 4 in F sharp major, Op. 30 Sergei Rachmaninoff : Suite no. 2, Op 17, for Two Pianos
2023 marks the 150th birthday of one of the most beloved romantic composers of all time, Sergei Rachmaninoff. Two of todayâs finest pianists, Orion Weiss and Roman Rabinovich, join forces for his two monumental two-piano suites, alongside other thrilling works by composers in his orbit.
Roman Rabinovich, piano
Praised by The New York Times for his âuncommon sensitivity and feelingâ, the eloquent pianist Roman Rabinovich is the winner of the 12th Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition. He has performed throughout Europe and the USA in such prestigious venues as Leipzigâs Gewandhaus, Londonâs Wigmore Hall, the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory, CitĂ© de la Musique in Paris and Washington DCâs Kennedy Center. Dubbed âa true polymath, in the Renaissance sense of the wordâ ( Seen & Heard International , 2016), Rabinovich is also a composer and visual artist. In summer 2016 he embarked upon the Haydn Project, encompassing recitals of Haydnâs complete keyboard sonatas at Lammermuir and Bath Festivals in UK, and a three-concert Haydn Day in Wigmore Hall.
Rabinovichâs wide repertoire range expands from the English Renaissance keyboardists to Boulez and beyond. As a soloist he appeared with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and Sir Roger Norrington, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Seattle Symphony, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Sarasota Orchestra, Meininger Hofkapelle, Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, KBS Symphony, Prague Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic, all the major Israeli orchestras, to name just a few. His recent solo recital engagements took him to the International Piano Series at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Lofoten Piano Festival, Franz Liszt Academy of Music, 92nd St. Y, Vancouver Recital Society, the Washington Performing Arts Society and Wigmore Hall.
Mr. Rabinovichâs 2022-23 highlights include Tchaikovsky Concerto no. 1 with Royal Scottish National Orchestra and Ludovic Morlot, Greig Concerto with Edmonton Symphony and Michael Stern, Bach d minor Concerto with NFM Leopoldinum and Joseph Swensen, Schubert/Liszt âWandererâ Fantasy with Israel Symphony and Christoph Koenig, Rachmaninov Concerto no. 2 with Punta Gorda Symphony, Mozart Concerto K. 488 with Helena Symphony. This seasonâs recital engagements include Portland Piano International, Royal Welsh College, Philip Lorenz Memorial Piano Series, Maverick Concerts and Music at MoCA Concert Series.
Rabinovich, “whose mature, self-assured playing belies his chronological ageâ ( San Fransisco Classical Voice ) made his Israel Philharmonic debut under Zubin Mehta aged 10, having immigrated to Israel a year before from Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Rabinovich was the first of three young pianists to be championed by AndrĂĄs Schiff, who selected him for his Building Bridges series.
During the 2020-21 global pandemic Rabinovich and his wife violinist Diana Cohen gave a very successful series of free weekly concerts from their front yard in Calgary, Canada. Together, they are co- artistic directors of ChamberFest Cleveland as well as newly inaugurated festival in Calgary, ChamberFest West.
Orion Weiss, Piano
One of the most sought-after soloists and chamber music collaborators of his generation, Orion Weiss is widely regarded as a âbrilliant pianistâ ( The New York Times ) with âpowerful technique and exceptional insightâ (The Washington Post ). He has dazzled audiences with his passionate, lush sound and performed with dozens of orchestras in North America including the Chicago Symphony, Boston Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and New York Philharmonic.
Recent seasons have seen Weiss in performances for the Lucerne Festival, Denver Friends of Chamber Music, Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, 92nd Street Y, and at the Aspen, Bard, Ravinia, and Grand Teton summer festivals. Other highlights include a performance of Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, a live- stream with the Minnesota Orchestra, the release of his recording of Christopher Rouseâs Seeing , and recordings of Gershwinâs complete works for piano and orchestra with the Buffalo Philharmonic and JoAnn Falletta. Weiss can be heard on the Naxos, Telos, Bridge, First Hand, Yarlung, and Artek labels.
Known for his affinity for chamber music, Weiss performs regularly with violinists Augustin Hadelich, William Hagen, Benjamin Beilman, and James Ehnes; pianists Michael Brown and Shai Wosner; cellist Julie Albers; and the Ariel, Parker, and Pacifica Quartets. In recent seasons, he has also performed with the San Francisco Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony, Toronto Symphony Orchestra, National Arts Centre Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, and Orpheus Chamber Orchestra.
A native of Ohio, Weiss attended the Cleveland Institute of Music and made his Cleveland Orchestra debut performing Lisztâs Piano Concerto No. 1 in 1999. That same year, with less than 24 hoursâ notice, Weiss stepped in to replace AndrĂ© Watts for a performance of Shostakovichâs Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Weissâs list of awards includes the Classical Recording Foundationâs Young Artist of the Year, Gilmore Young Artist Award, an Avery Fisher Career Grant, and more. THE World Snooker Championship semi-finals are back on TODAY in what will be another thriller at The Crucible!
Stuart Bingham may have dumped Ronnie O'Sullivan out the tournament, but the Englishman is currently locked in a tense battle with Jak Jones and heads into this evening's session THREE frames down.
But before that, Kyren Wilson booked his place in this year's World Championship final after beating David Gilbert 17-11 in the last-4.

All important semi-final
Stuart Bingham and Jak Jones will return to the Crucible later this evening.
Qualifier Jones currently leads Bingham by 13 frames to ten in what could be one of the shocks of the tournament.
Wilson's new approach
Kyren Wilson says he's taking a new approach coming into the final tomorrow, compared to when he lost to Ronnie O'Sullivan during Covid.
Reflecting on this tournament's performance compared to how he acted in the past, Wilson said: âComing into this event, I didnât have the best of season and now people say I am the favourite
âI broke the back of the match yesterday. Dave was in his primitive state. I was very focused on hitting the advantage.
âI ate too much pizza and drank too much Peronis the night before the 2020 final.
âI woke up that morning and so tired. The fire alarm went off the morning of the final. I had been up since 6am, having had three hours sleep.
âBut I can handle a final better now. I know what emotions to feel.â
Salmon is the secret
Kyren Wilson has credited salmon with his ability to make the finals at the Crucible.
Wilson said: "Itâs just like Groundhog Day. You have to keep doing the right things, keep eating the right food.
âI may end up growing gills given the amount of salmon I have been eating.
âAt 16 frames up, I look at the scoreboard and saw it was best off 33 frames, but until then, I didnât really know. You lose what day it is.
âI have had a lot of people help me. I have worked with as solution hypnotherapist. We started working before the worlds.
âHe has been really helping me with my sleep, knocking me out basically. I slept eight-and-a-half hours last night.
âGod help me when I get home and have to deal with my two kids.
Another semi-final to come
Stuart Bingham and Jak Jones will resume their semi-final later this evening.
They'll be competing to face Kyren Wilson in the final.
Qualifier Jones currently leads Bingham by 13 frames to ten.
A different experience
The last time Wilson reached the final was during Covid, with no spectators in the Crucible.
He's hoping that this year's will be a very different experience.
It helps that O'Sullivan is knocked out, with Wilson set to play the winner of Stuart Bingham vs Jak Jones.
Wilson in dreamland
Kyren Wilson will attempt to win a maiden World Snooker Championship this Bank Holiday weekend.
The Warrior became the first man into the two-day final following a 17-11 win over qualifier David Gilbert.
The No.12 seed was 14-10 up overnight, having done most of the hard work on Friday evening.
And then he claimed three of the next four frames, hitting successive breaks of 54 and 67 to secure his passage.
Gilbert, 42, only had himself to blame by missing some key shots in those frames on Saturday afternoon.
Wilson, 32, punched the air and blew a kiss to his family high up in the stands of the Sheffield theatre.
He will start as favourite against either Stuart Bingham or Jak Jones, who both came through qualifying last month.
Memories of the 2020 final will be firmly in his mind when he was crushed in the finale by Ronnie OâSullivan.
But he has played brilliantly this tournament, notably knocking out John Higgins in the quarter-finals, and he is a much better player than he was four years ago.
Wilson makes the final!
Wilson beats Gilbert by 17 frames to 11 to make the Crucible final.
It's his second ever final appearance.
Last time out he lost out to Ronnie O'Sullivan, but with The Rocket out, could he do it this year?
Kyren Wilson 16-11 David Gilbert
Wilson is on the brink of the final here and needs just one more frame.
Can Gilbert take a frame to bring them back for an evening session?
Kyren Wilson 15-11 David Gilbert
Longest frame of the match leads to another Wilson win.
Gilbert tried his best to find some snookers but it wasn't enough.
Kyren Wilson 14-11 David Gilbert
Some defensive snooker has Gilbert hanging in the match.
Wilson currently leads 55-1 with 59 to play for.
A missed shot from Wilson opened up the reds for Gilbert and he makes no mistake.
He's been ruthless in taking this frame.
Wilson looking really disappointed as he looks on.
Kyren Wilson 14-10 David Gilbert
Here we go then, Wilson and Gilbert is about to be decided at the Crucible.
Rob Walker is introducing the players now.
A little break at the Crucible now before Kyren Wilson comes out to renew his match with David Gilbert.
Wilson leads that game 14 frames to ten.
Stuart Bingham 10-13 Jak Jones
Century break from Bingham as he shows he's not out of this just yet.
He really needed that frame after losing five frames consecutively.
He very nearly pulled off an amazing trick shot on black after telling the crowd he'd go for it.
Is that going to give him some much needed confidence going forward in this match?
Stuart Bingham 9-13 Jak Jones
We're really witnessing a fairy tale here at the Crucible with Jones opening up a four frame lead.
He's taken the last five frames consecutively.
A great game of snooker - and The Crucible crowd are loving it.
Stuart Bingham 9-12 Jak Jones
Jones extends his lead to make it 12-9 in this match.
Bingham came into this a heavy favourite as a former winner himself, Jones had to reach the Crucible through qualifying.
But Jones is in the driving seat now.
VAR used at World Championship
BBC commentators were left shocked after VAR was used in the match between Jak Jones and Stuart Bingham.
With the match in the balance at 9-9, referee Marcel Eckardt was unsure whether the Welshman's shot hit the pink or red ball first.
The official could be heard, saying "I need to check that."
And he then walked over to a television screen at the side of the table to watch a close-up replay of the shot.
The slow-motion capture showed the pink was clipped before it made contact with the red.
BBC commentator stunned as VAR used at World Snooker Championship
Full schedule for today.
Here's today's full schedule at the Crucible.
Jak Jones is on course to make the final with a two frame lead.
It's a remarkable record for the qualifier who is looking to go all the way.
Stuart Bingham 9-11 Jak Jones
Jones wins this mini-session 3-1 before the interval.
Momentum seems to be with him now as the qualifier looks to make a dream final.
While Ken Doherty said Jones looked "nervous" early on, he now says those nerves look to be purely with Bingham.
Stuart Bingham 9-10 Jak Jones
The commentators have referenced both players "feeling the heat" in the Crucible right now with both making errors on the 20th frame.
But a great shot from Jones has left him favourite to take this one.
He could enter the interval two frames up.
That was a thrilling frame that swung back and forth but Jones ultimately takes it!
The qualifier is in the lead for the first time this session.
Could we be witnessing a fairy tale at the Crucible this year?
Stuart Bingham 9-9 Jak Jones
After a costly mistake let Bingham back to the table, it looked as though the veteran may have raced into a two frame lead.
But when given the chance, Jones managed to take the frame and make sure this match doesn't race away from him.
Stuart Bingham 9-8 Jak Jones
Back at the table this morning, Bingham takes the first frame of the second session.
Ken Doherty has said that Jones looks "nervous" out on the table today.
Time will tell whether the qualifier can do it today.
Bingham vs Jones back ON
We're back underway at The Crucible as Stuart Bingham and Jak Jones continue their incredibly close clash which stands at 8-8.
Can the qualifier Jak Jones do it?
Or will Stuart Bingham prevail on the ninth anniversary of his 2015 World Championship triumph?
Field of dreams for semi-finalists
One of the four players looking to book their place in the final, will see their world change if they get to lift the famous trophy.
While talk is ongoing about the venue of this tournament in years to come, snooker purists know there can only be one....The Crucible.
It was has witnessed some unforgettable snooker of the years and we hope to see more of it this weekend.
