When my then, fiancé, told me he wanted to take a Disney Cruise for our honeymoon, it was just one more reason I knew he was the one for me!

We’re both big kids at heart, and this is the perfect way to mix fun and romance.

One of the greatest things about a Disney Cruise honeymoon is that you can make it as exciting or as relaxing as you want.

There are lots of extras including couple’s massages, dinner at the adults-only restaurant aboard every ship, and every type of excursion for shopping, tours, and adventures on land & sea.

Don’t overlook the many perks that are already included with your cruise! There’s a live Broadway style show every night, an adult-only deck with a pool and two whirlpool spas, free room service at any time of the day or night, a movie theater that shows new-release and classic Disney movies, adult-only nightclubs & lounges, and even a fine art gallery where you can view and purchase limited-edition prints!

I believe it is perfectly possible to have a fabulously romantic honeymoon aboard a Disney Cruise and hardly ever see a child. You will certainly not be the only adult waiting in line to get your picture taken with Mickey & Minnie.

One of our favorite Disney World honeymoon tips is to head to the beach during your visit. Yes, you can actually do that. The Beach Club Resort has a small man-made beach where you can chill out and explore the adorable BoardWalk area nearby.

There are also six lakefront locations to lounge on, play volleyball or have a snack. You can even rent a boat if you want to head out on the water for some fun.

Have a Romantic Dinner for Two 

Disney World has no shortage of top-notch dining options where you can wine and dine with the person of your dreams.

Craving seafood, steak, or spaghetti a la Lady and the Tramp? You can enjoy a romantic evening together while enjoying fine food, regardless of your favorite cuisine or ambiance.

Or, beeline it to Ocean Boulevard, an outdoor boardwalk wrapping around the entire ship. There, you'll find Indulge Food Hall , Norwegian's first open-air marketplace, where you can savor Texas barbecue, Thai noodles or Spanish-inspired street food, among numerous other choices. Or, Indulge at Just Ice Cream with over-the-top desserts. Go ahead; you already fit into your wedding attire.

Stroll on to find the Infinity Beach area with two pools, the impressive Concourse sculpture garden and the Oceanwalk glass bridges, where you feel as if you're walking on air over the sea. Fleeing an escape room together in the uber-cool Galaxy Pavilion is a fun way to flex your teamwork muscles. There are lots of virtual reality games there, too.

Paul Gauguin in French Polynesia

Picture this: white sand beaches, shallow lagoons where multihued fish swim through crystal-clear water, misty mountains and intoxicating breezes scented with tropical flowers.

If this sounds like your ideal "Love Island" (the monogamous version), you should choose French Polynesia for your post-wedding getaway. Besides, all honeymooners deserve a Polynesian blessing ceremony to celebrate the occasion.

Few ships sailing on French Polynesia lure more honeymooners than 330-passenger Paul Gauguin. Now owned by French line Ponant, the luxurious ship (think: South Sea elegance evoked by precious woods, antique engravings and a lagoon-inspired color palate) was renovated in 2021.

Feel the Polynesian atmosphere on board through local art and a virtual museum with more than 150 paintings by the cruise line's namesake, prolific French artist Paul Gauguin, who captured these magical islands in iconic artworks.

Disney World does not have an official honeymoon package, but it offers many add-on experiences (see the Enchanting Extras Collection ) that gear toward couples. Plus, you can make your trip special with services like Magical Floral & Gifts and Disney Fairytale Weddings and Honeymoons .

American couples spend, on average, about $4,800 on domestic honeymoons and even more for honeymoons abroad. The cost of a week at Disney World for two works out to be $4,000 including food and activities, which is slightly less than the national average honeymoon price.

Complimentary "Happily Ever After" buttons can be found at most front desks, customer service locations, and merchandise shops.

Like any other registry, Disney's Honeymoon Wishes Registry allows couples to select from a range of products, services, and experiences — including park tickets, accommodations at a Disney Resort, dining plans, tours, balloon flights, specialty cruises, and more — then friends and family can buy or contribute to the experience.

Disney's European-inspired Riviera Resort is especially romantic with its cozy-yet-luxurious Tower Studios, perfect-sized accommodation for a couple, and rooftop restaurant offering panoramic views and a mix of French and Italian fare.

Pack for your Disney honeymoon as you would with any other trip to the park — with comfortable clothes and footwear, swimwear for pool lounging and spa time, etc. But for this occasion, specifically, you might want to bring bride and groom mouse ears, coordinating newlywed outfits, and wine to drink when you don't feel like spending a fortune to go out.

Some of the more intimate hotels in Disney World include the Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, Disney's BoardWalk Villas, and Disney's Beach Club Resort.

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is consistently ranked as one of the best and most romantic hotels in Orlando. This resort portrays Victorian elegance with its iconic white exterior and red roof. This resort boasts a world-class spa, Senses – A Disney Spa and Salon at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, and romantic restaurants, such as Victoria & Albert’s, Narcoossee’s, and Cítricos. Rooms start at $584 per night.

Guests will feel like there are on their own African safari adventure when they stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge . Guests enjoy spectacular views of savannas, where 30 species of African wildlife freely roam. Couples can also enjoy the 11,000-square-foot pool with a water slide and two whirlpool spas. This resort boasts award-winning dining that includes Jiko – The Cooking Place. Prices start at $388 per room.

Disney's Polynesian Village Resort celebrates the spirit of the South Pacific. Newlyweds can enjoy an oasis of tropical palms, beautiful gardens, the newly renovated Lava and Oasis pools, and the relaxing Oasis patio. Couples will enjoy Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show- a luau with Polynesian dancing and an all-you-care-to-enjoy feast. There are hammocks on the beach where couples can enjoy a romantic evening and watch the fireworks. Prices start at $545 per night.

Disney's BoardWalk Villas is an enchanting waterfront Resort hotel that features pastel-colored cottages, private courtyards, and scenic gardens. Couples can enjoy the carnival-themed pool with a 200-foot-long water slide or two all-ages quiet pools with a whirlpool spa. This hotel features Flying Fish restaurant that serves premium sustainable seafood and prime steaks. Rooms start at $499 per night.

Disney's Beach Club Resort is a New England-style Resort hotel just minutes from Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Couples can inner tube in the lazy river, zoom down one of the highest hotel water slides or relax in three all-ages quiet pools with a whirlpool spa. Guests can enjoy an intimate dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse which features premium steaks and fresh seafood. Rooms start at $402 per night.

Walt Disney World Theme Parks

Walt Disney World includes four theme parks: Magic Kingdom Park , Epcot , Disney’s Hollywood Studios , and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park . There are two water parks in the resort area:  Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park .

Honeymooners seeking a thrill ride will enjoy Space Mountain in the Magic Kingdom, Rockin' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith and Twilight Zone Tower of Terror in Disney Hollywood Studios, Avatar Flight of the Passage and Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain which are both in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park.

The slower rides at Magic Kingdom can also be fun for honeymooners.  Pirates of the Caribbean , “it's a small world “, and Peter Pan's Flight can be romantic and relaxing. Strolling through Main Street is also a fun way to spend the day.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park offers guests the opportunity to see hundreds of species of live animals on exhibit. Couples can journey down a romantic, mysterious river on the Na'vi River Journey . Newlyweds can board a reed boat and drift downstream through a series of caves in a bioluminescent rainforest.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge , an all-new land, opens in August 2019 in Disney's Hollywood Studios.  Star Wars fans will truly feel immersed in this galactic experience! Couples will feel like they’re on their first date when they cruise through Toy Story Land. Toy Story Mania allows couples to compete with each other and others while playing carnival games.

For a more relaxing time, newlyweds will enjoy cruising through Epcot and enjoy browsing and feasting their way through the various pavilions.  Imagine strolling through eleven different countries in one day! Once the sun sets, couples can watch the watch IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth show.

Couples should take advantage of the talented Disney PhotoPass photographers in each park. Guests can pose for cute pictures on Main Street, with characters, or with Cinderella’s Castle as the backdrop. There are many scenic spots for cute and romantic photo opportunities. Couples can get free buttons at many stores that say “I’m Celebrating” or “Just Married” or purchase matching shirts as a fun way to celebrate a honeymoon.

Disney World Romantic Restaurants

There are several romantic restaurants at the Disney World Resort including Victoria and Albert's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Monsieur Paul located in Epcot, Coral Reef Restaurant located within Epcot, Narcoossee's in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and Citricos in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. Victoria and Albert's restaurant is located at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and is one of the preeminent restaurants in Walt Disney World Resort. This classic Victorian dining experience has been a AAA Five Diamond Award recipient since 2000. Their menu includes several courses that feature oysters, caviar, lobster, duck, tenderloin, Kobe-style beef, and of course, dessert. Prices start at $60 per adult and guests must wear proper attire.

Monsieur Paul is located in Epcot and is a gourmet restaurant serving classic French cuisine. Renowned chefs have created a spectacular menu that features Chilled Lobster a la Nage, Roasted Duck Breast, Seared Swordfish wrapped in Filo Dough, and Seared Arctic Char Filet. Prices range from $35 to $59.99 per adult. Guests are asked to adhere to the dress code.

The Coral Reef Restaurant is located within Epcot. This tropical restaurant offers spectacular views of a living coral reef and ocean-fresh specialties. Guests can enjoy crispy calamari, sautéed shrimp and grits, oven-roasted chicken breast, and pan-seared salmon. Desserts include turtle cheesecake with caramel and The Chocolate Wave. Prices range from $15 to $34.99 per adult.

Narcoossee's is located in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. This casual waterfront setting offers fresh seafood and steak with panoramic view of the lagoon. Couples can enjoy a surf-and-turf dish that features sirloin steak and a lobster tail. Guests are asked to adhere to a business casual dress code. Prices range from $35 to $59.99 per adult.

Citricos is located in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. Couples can dine on American cuisine infused with Mediterranean flavors, such as scallop risotto, quinoa and provençale ratatouille, and oak-grilled filet of beef. Guests can also browse their award-winning, international wine list. Guests are asked to adhere to the minimum dress code requirements. Prices range from $35 to $59.99 per adult.

Every Disney World theme park and resort offers multiples dining experiences, including quick service restaurants, lounges, table service and character dining. Quick service restaurants include counter service, fast casual, and food trucks, and prices are typically less than $14.99 per meal. Disney World Honeymoon Experiences

The Disney World Resort offers several romantic experiences that the newlyweds can enjoy. Some of these experiences include floral arrangements, in-room toast, carriage rides, horseback trail rides, surrey bike rentals, specialty cruises, and resort spa services.

Floral Arrangement

Couples can purchase beautiful and unique floral arrangements for their hotel room. Disney Florist Dream Makers offers a variety of floral options, including bud vases, dozen long-stemmed velvet roses or even villainous floral creations! Floral arrangements start around $40 for a simple arrangement and can cost up to $375 for the Wish Come True package, which includes a dozen roses, scattered silk rose petals, candles, champagne, chocolates, and an exclusively designed glass slipper featuring a specialty charm.

Toast to a Happily Ever After

The happy couple can enjoy a toast with Mickey-etched glasses and sip sparkling juice while they dine on a collection of decadent cheese, chocolate and crackers. The Endless Bliss package starts at $375 and includes two fluffy Mickey Mouse icon towels, bathrobes, luxurious spa products, exquisite roses, and two keepsake Mickey Mouse glasses. Carriage Rides

Couples can enjoy a 25-minute carriage ride through Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground or Disney's Port Orleans Resort. Carriage rides start are $55 per person. Reservations are recommended and can be made up to 180 days in advance by calling (407) WDW-PLAY.

Horseback Trail Rides

Newlyweds can saddle up and ride the beautiful paths of Central Florida's spectacular wilderness. The 45-minute horseback trail rides are along the wooded trails at The Cabins and Campsites of Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Prices are $55 per person guests must wear closed-toe shoes. Reservations are recommended and can be made up to 180 days in advance by calling (407) WDW-PLAY or (407) 939-7529.

Surrey Bike Rental

Couples will enjoy pedaling and picnicking along the scenic paths and trails in tandem with each other. This is a charming break from the excitement of the parks!   Surrey bikes and individual bikes  can be rented at the following locations:

• Disney’s Boardwalk Inn
• Disney's BoardWalk Villas
• Disney’s Old Key West Resort
• Disney's Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter
• Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside
• Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort

Prices start at $25 per person. Couples can also rent individual bikes starting at $18 per person.

Specialty Cruises

What is more romantic than a boat ride? Couple can enjoy a cruise along the gorgeous Walt Disney World Resort waterways onboard a private pontoon or yacht. Resort Spa Services

A day at the spa is a great way to spend part of a honeymoon! Couples can relax during rejuvenating massages, facials or treatments for two. The Disney World Resort offers Senses – A Disney Spa at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort , and Senses – A Disney Spa and Salon at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort . Disney Honeymoon Registry

Disney offers couple the option of creating a honeymoon registry service through Honeymoon Wishes. Couples who plan on taking a honeymoon at a Disney Destination can create a registry and friends and family can help grant them their Disney honeymoon wish. The couple can add specific items to their registry, such as park tickets, accommodations, carriage rides, floral arrangements, specific restaurants, luaus, dinner packages, etc. Another option is Fantasy Funds where the couple can use the money toward anything on their trip. Halloween on the High Seas is Back for Disney Cruise Line!

Halloween on the High Seas is back at Disney Cruise Line, and Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Donald Duck are SO excited, they fashioned up some new costumes for the celebration! 

Mickey and Minnie are both dapper and spooky in their new, batty ensembles. Never to be outdone, Donald has put together a gentleman spider costume sure to impress Daisy Duck. All of his spidery legs are ready to boogie!

Make sure to pack your own Halloween garb for Mickey’s Mouse-querade, a special party with Mickey and his pals dressed in their Halloween best. You’ll be able to get a spooky selfie in your scary suits during themed meet and greets with Disney characters! 

When you  set sail this fall , you’ll find yourself immersed in frightful fun as you sip on themed drinks, munch on treats (tricks not necessary!), and even trick or treat at sea in this Halloween onboard takeover.

New Halloween on the High Seas Costumes Revealed for Mickey, Minnie, and Donald on Disney Cruise Line

Disney Cruise Line has given a first look at new Halloween on the High Seas costumes for Mickey, Minnie, and Donald for 2024.

Mickey and Minnie’s outfits are dapper orange and purple looks. Minnie wears a bag-inspired bow while Mickey has a top hat. Donald has put together a “gentleman spider costume” including spider legs attached to his arms.

Halloween on the High Seas entertainment includes Mickey’s Mouse-querade, a special party with Mickey & Friends dressed in their costumes. Guests are also invited to dress up for themed meet and greets.

Fall sailings also include themed drinks, treats, and trick-or-treating.

Disney also announced new details about the Haunted Mansion Parlor on the Disney Treasure launching in December.
