Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.

Live from Paris: Taylor Swift adds 'Tortured Poets' songs to Eras Tour in France

P ARIS, France — The Chairman jump-started her tour after a two-month hiatus, and anticipation was high over whether Taylor Swift would incorporate her 11th era album into the Eras Tour set at La Défense Arena on Thursday.

She did and then some.

Swift extended the set list by one track to land at 46 songs. But many changes were made along the way. She added a new era for "The Tortured Poets Department," cut a handful of songs and rearranged most of the eras including combining the sets for "Folklore" and "Evermore."

Start the day smarter. Get all the news you need in your inbox each morning.

She also debuted a number of new outfits along the way.

Delivering all the updates were Bryan West, the USA TODAY Network's full-time Taylor Swift reporter, from inside La Défense Arena in Paris, with Swiftie and trending reporter Anthony Robledo assisting from his desk.

We hereby present the minutes from the first Eras Tour meeting in Paris, France.

More: Taylor Swift unveils new Eras Tour set list in Paris

'Midnights' set follows secret songs

Swift stuck to her original set list for the "Midnights" era by singing "Lavender Haze," "Anti-Hero" and "Midnight Rain." She ended the night with a triumphant rendition of "Karma" as usual.

'loml' is second secret song

Fans got one more taste of "The Tortured Poets Department" when Swift played the heartbreaking song "loml" on the piano during her secret set.

'Paris' is a secret song, of course

Swift started her secret set with "Paris," a bonus song from her "Midnights" album.

'Tortured Poets' set list

Swift played these songs from her newest album:

  • "But Daddy I Love Him"
  • "So High School"
  • "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me"
  • "Fortnight"
  • "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived"
  • "I Can Do It with a Broken Heart"

New 'Tortured Poets' set is here

Toward the end of her show, Swift officially launched the long-awaited “The Tortured Poets Department” section of the tour after the 1989 era.

Swift performed the track “But Daddy I Love Him” off the April 19 album for her ecstatic fans while wearing a new beige dress with cursive letters.

A road spiraled down the catwalk in an animation to initiate the era. The background animation showed a deserted road while large cages animated and fell on the road.

“Oh my god you should see your faces,” she sang.

She quickly segued into a brief moment of “So High School,” the beloved track speculated to be about her romance with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. She quickly performed the powerhouse anthem “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me.”

Swift switched to “Down Bad” before seamlessly transitioning into the lead single “Fortnight.” Stage production recreated an asylum that resembled the music video for the song with Post Malone, recorded harmony played concluding the song.

Dancers entered the stage in a marching band style format playing drums as she performed the wrath-fueled song “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived.” Jan Ravnik and Kameron Saunders then revived Swift in a jazzy skit to set up “I Can Do With A Broken Heart,” where she debuted another new outfit.

“The End” text displayed wrapping up the era that’s likely here to stay. Other beloved tracks like “Guilty As Sin” and “Florida!” did not make the cut.

New '1989' outfit

Swift never goes out of Style. During her “1989” set, she debuted a new, sequined outfit of blue and pink. Her sparkly shoes matched with a different colored heel on each. For the bridge of “Blank Space,” the crowd started chanting in Sydney, Australia, “Syd-ney” as a nod to the 1989 World Tour concert movie where Swift would chant the name of the city she was in after hitting a pole with a club two times. Singapore followed the chant and Taylor Nation tweeted they want every city to incorporate the fan-fueled chant. In Paris, thousands chanted “Par-ee,” the French way to say the capital city.

Swift made no cuts to the "1989" set.

Four songs cut from 'Folklore' and 'Evermore'

The new set list cut four tracks from the "Folklore" and "Evermore" eras:

  • "'Tis the Damn Season"
  • "Tolerate It"
  • "The Last Great American Dynasty"

The combined set included eight songs altogether and wrapped up with "Willow."

'Folkmore' set debuts

Swift revealed she merged the 2020 pandemic albums “Folklore” and “Evermore” into one section. She told fans she wrote “Folklore” to represent spring and summer with “Evermore” representing fall and winter in what she always considered sister albums.

“On the Eras Tour we have now reunited the sisters, combined them into one chapter,” she said. “You can call it whatever you want as long as you promise to sing ‘Champagne Problems’ with me.”

'Folklore' set: 'Cardigan' makes the cut

Many fans had speculated "Cardigan" would be cut from the set list. But Swift actually moved it to the top of the "Folklore" set.

Up next: 'Reputation'

Swift kicked off her fifth set with "Ready for It?"

Another surprise: 'Speak Now' era comes fourth

Swift updated her "Speak Now" set with an intro dance featuring Raphael Thomas and eight other dancers wearing flowy purple dresses. She then sang "Enchanted."

Fan favorite track "Long Live" was cut from the set list.

Order of eras changed

After a fairly routine "Fearless" set, Swift altered her concert by including the “Red” era third instead of the expected “Evermore” set. Previously, "Red" came fifth.

With a new shirt that read “This Is Not Taylor’s Version,” the singer performed "22" and showed her audience that they needed to leave any expectations at home.

The relocated "Red" set included the same four songs: "22," "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," "I Knew You Were Trouble" and "All Too Well (10-Minute Version)."

Beflore playing “All Too Well (10 Minute Version),” Swift talked about bringing all of her favorite memories to France. She did her 2019 “Lover” live show here but hadn’t brought a tour to the country since the Speak Now World Tour 13 years ago.“I cannot thank you enough. I’m so moved," she said.

Follow along with set list changes here .

First set list change

Swift cut "The Archer" from her "Lover" set before beginning her "Fearless" set in a silver and black minidress as opposed to her classic gold one. A graphic showed her "Lover" house with a new addition in the attic for "The Tortured Poets Department." Her "Fearless" set remained the same with "Fearless," "You Belong With Me" and "Love Story."

'Je m'appelle Taylor'

In her monologue before playing the song "Lover," Swift said the night would span 18 years of music. Previously, the concert covered 16 years. Get ready for a "The Tortured Poets Department" addition some time tonight.

She confirmed the tour would still go era by era, and also spoke about how Paramore is a band she idolized since she was a teenager. She ended with some French: "Je m'appelle Taylor."

First new outfit

Swift debuted a new, orange bodysuit and jacket for the "Lover" set.

Snippet of 'Tortured Poets' in intro

A snippet of the song "The Tortured Poets Department" was included in the intro music Swift kicks the concert off with. Is she foreshadowing other changes ahead? It seems likely.

Taylor Swift takes the stage

Swift took the stage about 8 p.m. in Paris (2 p.m. ET) to relaunch her Eras Tour in Europe. She kicked it off with a countdown clock and the Lesley Gore song "You Don't Own Me" as usual. Then she began her "Lover" set with "Miss Americana."

Paramore covers Blondie, Talking Heads in Paris set list

At the Paris show Thursday, Paramore energized fans with eight tracks including their cover off the upcoming “Stop Making Sense” tribute album out May 17 featuring artists like Miley Cyrus and Lorde.

Debuting a blond mullet, lead singer Hayley Williams encouraged fans to dance without fear of judgment ahead of Swift’s performance.

“Enjoy your time with Miss Taylor, we will see you next time,” Williams said.

Paramore's set list included:

  • "Hard Times"
  • "Burning Down the House" (Talking Heads cover)
  • "Caught in the Middle"
  • “Brick by Boring Brick”
  • “The Only Exception”
  • “That’s What You Get”
  • “Ain't It Fun”
  • “This Is Why”

Paramore begins their set

At about 6:45 p.m. in Paris (12:45 p.m. ET), Paramore began their set, officially restarting the second year of the historic Eras Tour. Lead singer Hayley Williams sported a new, blond mullet hairdo.

Paramore opens European leg of Eras Tour

The American rock band is joining Swift on her European leg of 51 shows. Paramore also opened the show for two nights in Glendale, Arizona, in 2023. Their setlist then included nine songs:

  • "This Is Why"
  • "That’s What You Get"
  • "The Only Exception"
  • "Still Into You"
  • "Rose-Colored Boy"
  • "Misery Business"
  • "Ain’t It Fun"

Where to watch the Eras Tour livestreams

The Eras Tour is one of the first tours that has been followed, globally, by thousands of fans on digital platforms. Fans dedicate part of their concert experience to livestreaming as Swift performs. Livestream Queen Tess Bohne has spearheaded the "Great War" to find fans going live on social media and broadcasting a custom show to tens of thousands of fans almost every night on her account @tessdear .

On YouTube, user @TaylorSwiftHockeyBro also livestreams the 3-hour show, and on Twitch, @folkleric is a host fans follow.

There is also an app, Swift Alert , that notifies fans who only want to watch certain eras like the acoustic, surprise set. The app also sends out push alerts if there are any major announcements.

What secret songs are left?

For the past 83 shows, Swift has had an acoustic set she customizes every stop with a guitar and piano performance. In 2024, the Eras Tour star added mash-ups of her songs for each stop. Here are the songs she has yet to perform:

  • "Taylor Swift" (debut album): "Mary's Song" and "A Perfectly Good Heart"
  • "Fearless": "The Way I Loved You," "Change," "Superstar," "We Were Happy," "That's When," "Don't You" and "Bye Bye Baby"
  • "Red": "Girl At Home," "Ronan," "Forever Winter" and "Run"
  • "1989": "Sweeter Than Fiction"
  • "Reputation": "I Did Something Bad"
  • "Lover": "London Boy," "Soon You'll Get Better" and "It's Nice to Have a Friend"
  • "Folklore": "Hoax"
  • "Evermore": "Happiness" and "Closure"
  • "Midnights": "Paris" and "Glitch"
  • "The Tortured Poets Department": all 31 tracks

Sehr schönes Hotel in sehr schöner Umgebung.

We were travelling down France and needed to stay a night on a specific date, at the mid point of our journey and I found this hotel by chance. There happened to be a special offer for that day for the room including breakfast. Once we had arrived, I wondered if the price was per person as the quality and ambiance was fantastic for the rate we were paying. The weather was terrible so we arrived earlier than the official check in time but it was no problem and we were shown to our room. We were quite tired after our long drive so we relaxed and had a short sleep. Our plan had been to have a light meal in the village but the local restaurant was closed so we decided to eat at the hotel’s restaurant and I’m so glad we did. The meal was amazing and well worth the price we paid. We were served olives and a delicious cheese biscuit with our drinks. The amuse-bouche was superb. Both the starters and main dish were sublime. Everything was fresh and much of it was local, including the wine which was from the chateau next door. In the morning, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast with loads of choice and took in the glorious views over the vineyards. I can strongly recommend this hotel and the staff who were all lovely.

Le sourire et la bonne humeur du personnel est plaisant à voir.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Quiet room with a lovely view over the vineyards. Just one small fault was entering the WC. It was such a tight squeeze to avoid trapping yourself against the toilet paper holder. Also the extractor fan in the WC didn’t work. Restaurant was very good but the choice on the menu was very limited. We had breakfast all 3 mornings and it was one of the best we have ever had in France.

Just OK compared to other 3-star accommodations in France. Barely deserves the third star. Bedding and room comfort ok. Noisy heating at night which prevents you from sleeping. The room decor is simplistic. The bathtub is not practical, especially for taking a shower. Very expensive breakfast considering the quality and choice offered. The Nespresso coffee machine lets you. to desire. Prefer a machine without a pod,

address to recommend, a small downside on the quality of the rooms (shower curtain not very fun, mold on the joints...)

Courtesy and efficiency of the team. Hotel combined with excellent dining. Room left available until midday

Hello I'm sorry I'm not satisfied apart from the very warm welcome and the smile of the person, a pretty setting everything else did not suit me... Room not very clean (mold in the bathroom) Hair a little everywhere. Brightness due to exterior lighting because blind is not blackout. Big problem with soundproofing (toilet is next door shower) Very noisy air conditioning Bedding more than passable....

The soundproofing of the rooms is zero, you can hear everything from the neighboring rooms and from the corridor. Non-existent balcony and very noisy heating system. Very kind staff

Magnificent estate, simple and very comfortable hotel, very professional staff.

Lovely hotel in a great setting. The restaurant was superb

Superb site with breathtaking views. Quietly located. Excellent gourmet restaurant. Breakfast OK but not very pretentious, a little expensive compared to the diversity. Room 113 closest to reception is not cut off from the noise of arriving guests until 11 p.m.

I was extremely well received in your establishment, the setting of which is magnificent.

Do not be fooled by the exterior appearance of the establishment. The hotel is comfortable and very clean. Excellent bedding. Attentive welcoming staff.

Nice hotel.Very friendly staff.Restaurant could be better.

Everything was really lovely, but the room was small and very basic for the price. Wonderful restaurant. Good pool and plenty of comfortable sunbeds.

Everything was prepared for our late arrival..the hotel in the middle of the vineyards is magnificent..we loved the swimming pool area..but the best part of our stay was the meeting with the staff who took great care of us..warm and in particular Milesh (I hope I don't make any mistakes) so thank you

The room is not soundproofed at all, the bedding is poor.

Excellent hotel. Extremely helpful staff. Beautiful setting. Lovely restaurant

We had a super nice host Nilles. we are definitely going back to this beautiful romantic place. definitely worth it!!!

Uitstekend hotel in prachtige omgeving en een lekker restaurant

Exceptional place. The restaurant and the menu are top notch. Special mention for the staff who are exceptional and really very professional

We were very kindly welcomed. The stay was lovely. We will definitely return

Step full of charm warm welcome very pleasant atmosphere Comfortable and impeccable rooms I will come back with pleasure

Nice quiet establishment. Too bad the restaurant was closed the evening of our visit.

Very friendly., helpful staff.. A big thank you

Very nice staff, very cosi room.

3 star hotel but 5 star service. Beautiful environment and restaurant. Perfect value for money.

Very good hotel with an excellent restaurant amidst a beautiful vineyard and pond. The price-quality report is very good.

Very friendly and helpful staff Clean The restaurant is exceptional!

Very pretty place. The only downside is the soundproofing, which can prevent people from slamming the doors.

The room needs to be cleaned up a bit. Spiders on the roof should be very difficult to clean. The rest ok

A great discovery, a gourmet stop in a green setting!

Very welcoming and smiling staff Excellent and complete breakfast

if you like wine and walking in the vineyards this place is for you for the rest nothing exceptional. Value for money: could do better!

DAMAGE THE CURTAIN FOR THE BATHTUB

This hotel is about halfway between Saint Emilion and Bordeaux, in the middle of vineyards, and therefore more affordable than the aforementioned cities. It has a nice restaurant and a good breakfast. The rooms are adequate but small. The people who ran the hotel were so nice. There is very little else in close proximity, in terms of restaurants or any villages. The pool and outdoor sitting areas are very nice if you want to relax. The on-premises restaurant has a very limited menu, so eating here every day is not an option. It's also fairly expensive. The food is top quality. There is ample free parking and you must have a car if you are staying here. Having to do it again, maybe I would stay here for Saint Emilion, but for Bordeaux I would stay in the city of Bordeaux to experience it at night. It's too far to just hop in for the evening.

very satisfied with my stay with you. What I find unfortunate: - hair dryer too small for long hair - no tissues in the room

EXCELLENT ESTABLISHMENT I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT AND I WILL RETURN FOR A RELAXING FAMILY STAY

deserves an exterior refresh and exterior shutters

I recommend the establishment, a very welcoming team of professionals, and very good cuisine, I really enjoyed myself. Do not hesitate !

This is a beautiful spot. The welcome and facilities are excellent. For a hotel of this price you expect smaller rooms, but these are very well laid out and perfectly adequate for a short stay. If I had any criticism I would suggest they address the plumbing noise and invest in a carpet for the corridor to lessen the noise of people coming and going. Overall though, excellent and would return.

Hotel est très bon, mais chambre était un peu petit (comparé aux foto's) et fatigué... Meuble salle de bain abîmé et finitions pauvre, airco/chauffage fait beaucoup de bruit, et chambre mal isolé (son et chaleur)

Cleaning not done in the room (we were not warned and two different versions were given to us), lack of heating in the bathroom (we are in winter). We won't be back.

an excellent stopover in Bordeaux

Boiler problems on my arrival, top staff to accommodate me differently, perfect attitude!

Perfect !!! The only minor complaint I could make is the strong smell of the toilet cleaner Otherwise perfect! I loved it, very nice welcome, superb place!

Very warm and professional welcome. The bedding is perfect, the rooms are clean and functional. The breakfast is very varied.

I booked 2 nights for 2 people. 72€/night or 144€ When I finalized my reservation on the internet, I received an email confirmation of my reservation. Supplement 10€ per dog per night, we have 2 small dogs total 40€ We were given a room upstairs, we asked if it was possible to change to a more practical ground floor room to take the dogs out . 10€/night or 20€ Tourist tax 1€/person/night evening 4€ In total reservation 144€ paid on leaving 208€ The hotel gave us a discount of 10€ on the 1st night, we had no didn't sleep due to a water leak we heard all night. We paid €198 thinking we had booked a room at €144. We were happy to have found a room at that price, but we were disappointed.

The hotel is right in the middle of a calm area with vineyards, which already emerges you in the Bordeaux experience. Very welcoming service from the hosts, with a relaxing sense of feeling. We got out of the car and entered the facility already feeling at piece and in "awe" of the location and view you have from the premise. The restaurant they have is an amazing experience to strengthen the Bordeaux feeling, with a fun way of providing a wine degustation during your meal. For the breakfast, it is simple but perfect. Meaning it is not too much of different types of bread, charcuterie, etc... But just a perfect amount to provide enough variation.

Très bel hôtel, service irréprochable mais les chambres sont un peu petites et le prix du petit déjeuner trop élevé

It lacks a socket in the bathroom, and extra pillows

Very fine small hotel and great gastronomy

Excellent establishment, from the hotel to the restaurant, everything is perfect, it was very good and the staff very pleasant

Very small room, not in accordance with the price. The balcony was not clean and not taken care of. Dead plants in the planter.

A lovely hotel situated in a beautiful landscaope; however the rooms are cramped and the balcony tiny.

All services oke, room quit small!

The Hotel was small but nice. All staff absolutely lovely, helpful and friendly. We were staying for 8 nights, so for us the breakfast was basic, nothing hot. The rooms were very small for the length of our stay, would of been perfect for a couple of nights but no room for a 8 nights worth of luggage. Sadly No mini bar/fridge in room, so was tricky to keep foods/drinks cool. No restaurant at weekends, the menu was the same all week, which as I have a fish/shellfish allergies made my choice extremely small. We Would loved to have dined there more as such a lovely setting and service, but I can’t eat the same 2 meals for 8 nights. Would definitely stay again, but just not for so many nights.

Lovely peaceful setting

Great experience! I came for a wedding at the Château de Camarsac. The staff is super nice, accommodating, the bed very comfortable, good shower jet. Incredible view and lovely pool. Small downside: poor soundproofing but otherwise everything was great!

rooms could be a bit bigger; at breakfast maybe a little more offer. A nice place to stay for a few days.

Very nice experience for a relaxing and exotic stay. The hotel is in a great location with a swimming pool for lounging. The breakfast is very rich and varied.

No porter on arrival Very small room No electrical outlet in the bathroom…!!!!! Towels having lived .. Very few amenities in the room Wc not very accessible: no clearance between the door and the pq dispenser 1/2 bottle of water for 2 people per night / not renewed 3 handkerchiefs for 2 for 3 nights Mediocre pillows Very flimsy!!

Very pleasant stay, beautiful setting and attentive and smiling staff. We came with our dog who was also very well received. If the opportunity arises, I will not hesitate to return to this establishment.

Wonderful place, ambience and staff. A great place for a longer stay, wedding or other gathering.

We really liked the setting and the restaurant of the hotel

Kamers zijn aan renovatie toe.

Very nice place but very small room. Fantastic outside dining area

A very nice stay in this hotel, located in a magnificent setting.

Pleasant stay, the room with air conditioning, view of the vines + the swimming pool, just a few spiders but nothing serious! The little + important for me and very pleasant: The bottle of water, even if there is no small fridge to keep it cool and the mosquito repellent plug!

Excellent hotel, staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms small but comfortable. The restaurant is amazing, could almost be Michelin starred food it’s so good. Stayed her on 2 occasions now and not disappointed on either. Would definitely recommend

Very good experience. Staff very accommodating and friendly.

Nice hotel one a beautiful site with friendly staff. Only dissapointment part about our stay The moisture content in the rooms is very high and you can hear everything in other rooms

The staff and restaurant are amazing! The standard room could idee an update. The room was quiet outdated and the pillows weren’t that great. But overal i would definitly stay here again (with an roomupgrade).

Very pleasant hotel, quiet, in a green setting, in the middle of the vineyards. Friendly, helpful, caring staff. Beautiful swimming pool equipped with deckchairs and parasols in sufficient number (a sign obliging to go through the shower before swimming would be welcome!). A downside for the bedrooms upstairs: no elevator, small bedroom and little storage (only a wardrobe), poorly insulated from noise from the hallway. On the other hand, the bedding is comfortable and the toilets are independent, which is appreciable. The breakfast room is bright and pleasant. The buffet is correct but lacks space to be able to put the small trays and help yourself. The restaurant offers refined menus, the waiters are quick and efficient; portions are a little small for the price.

A dream setting, attentive and discreet staff! A magnificent restaurant! Very satisfied with our stay

We had a great time !

Great stay wish there will be a welcome juice upon arriving in the hotel because we came from a long drive and thirsty. Merci

Great location - but the room was small, thin walls, bed was just OK, desk too small to work at, uncomfortable chair, disappointing view of the car park. There was a lot of noise penetrating the room from people in the car park immediately outside the room and from the reception area. Also I found the mint green wall colour of the room unpleasant, clashing with the beige tile of the toilet. Obviously this is a personal view. The toiletries were fine and I appreciated the bottle of water. The view from the terrace in the morning was beautiful but did not compensate for the rest.

A very pretty place. In the countryside, in the quiet vineyards A nice welcome and a very correct breakfast But, impossible to sleep because outside light on all night and no shutter. An ill-suited blind that does not allow darkness The restaurant offers a nice menu but mediocre dishes. The fish (Pollack) was “boiled” too bad… we were on Monday, that may explain it!

The Deeper Meanings Behind Kendrick’s Drake Diss “6:16 in LA”

Kendrick Lamar’s “6:16 in LA” is full of layers and double meanings. Here’s a full breakdown.

Kendrick Lamar warned Drake that he’d go “back to back” on “Euphoria” earlier this week, and now he made good on that promise with “6:16 in LA.”

Dot spends much of the song surgically picking apart Drake’s OVO crew, planting seeds that there is a rat among them. This angle is especially effective given how paranoid Drake already was before all of this (on songs like “Champagne Poetry,” he raps about how his “cleaning staff’s plotting extortion” on him).

The smooth flip of Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together” makes the track sound amazing even without the shots, but of course, Kendrick even found a way to hide a deeper meaning behind the sample itself, which has ties into Drake’s family (more on that below).

“6:16 in LA” is full of layered references and even more “ quintuple entendres,” so here’s a breakdown of all of the deeper meanings behind the track.

secret pey la tour

The title “6:16 in LA” has a lot of symbolism behind it. The most obvious interpretation is that Kendrick is using Drake’s long history of releasing songs with timestamp titles against him. But there’s more. Dot dropped the track at 6:16 a.m., and the numerology in “6:16” could represent at least five other meanings.

June 16 (6/16) is the date that Father's Day is celebrated in many countries, including the US and Canada. This might be Kendrick’s way of doubling down on bars he had on “Euphoria” about Drake being a deadbeat dad (“I got a son to raise, but I can see you don't know nothin' 'bout that”) as well as a possible reference to Drake having an absent father during his childhood.

June 16 is also Tupac’s birthday. Kendrick has a deep affinity for Pac and revealed that he took offense to Drake buying his million-dollar ring on “Euphoria.” And of course, Drake tried coming after Kendrick last month by using artificial intelligence to create a Tupac diss verse on “Taylor Made Freestyle.”

HBO’s Euphoria, executive-produced by Drake, aired its first episode on June 16, 2019. The show has been criticized for sexualizing teenaged female characters, and after naming his last song “Euphoria,” this could be Kendrick’s way of subtly commenting on the rumors of Drake’s odd history with underaged women.

OJ Simpson’s murder case began on June 16, 1995, and this reference could tie into the black leather glove on the song’s cover artwork (more on that below), which might be Kendrick’s way of implying that some of Drake’s own crimes will soon come to light.

Fans are also pointing to the Bible verse, Corinthians 6:16, which reads, “Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, ‘The two will become one flesh.’” This could be yet another jab at Drake’s tastes in women.

The cover art

secret pey la tour

The cover artwork features a black leather Maybach equestrian glove. The image immediately evokes the memory of the notorious black leather gloves that were used as evidence in OJ Simpson’s 1995 murder case. Under this interpretation, Dot could be implying that members of Drake’s team, like his right-hand man Chubbs (who Kendrick previously mentioned on “Euphoria”), have committed crimes and gotten away with it. The actual glove on the cover art is used for horse-riding, though, so it also could be a callback to Drake’s bar on “In The Morning” where he rapped, “I love thick women because my aunt, she rode equestrian.” To this day, nobody really knows what the hell he meant by that, and this image could be Kendrick’s way of calling back that unusual bar and making fun of Drake’s history with women.

The song is built around a sample of Al Green’s “What a Wonderful Thing Love Is,” which has direct ties to Drake’s family. Drake’s father’s cousin, Mabon “Teenie” Hodges, was a guitarist and songwriter for Al Green, and he’s credited for playing on this specific song. The track is also rumored to be co-produced by Taylor Swift’s frequent collaborator Jack Antonoff. If that’s true, then “6:16 in LA” would literally be a “Taylor made” song. Antonoff produces a lot of Swift’s music, so this could act as a response to Drake’s AI “Taylor Made Freestyle,” where he insinuated that Kendrick has to take orders from the pop singer. Because of all this, it’s uncertain whether the song will ever hit streaming services. Clearing an Al Green sample is difficult, especially when it’s attached to a family member of the guy you’re dissing. And it’s doubtful that Antonoff wants to officially throw himself in the middle of this rap war, especially since he more than likely produced this song for Kendrick before the beef broke out and didn’t know it would be used for a diss record. Still, this was a brilliant maneuver on Kendrick’s part.

The bars on “6:16 in LA” seem to have one central goal: make Drake question everything. Throughout the song, Dot implies that there are snakes in Drake’s OVO camp, and he keeps the lyrics vague enough to leave the rapper suspicious of everyone around him, with bars like:

“Off-white Sunseeker at the marina/ Fuck a Phantom, I like to buy yachts when I get the fever/ Wine cooler spill on my white t-shirt, the sightseer/ Trifecta, money, morals, and culture, that's my leisure/ My visa, passport tatted, I show up in Ibiza”

In the song’s opening bars, Kendrick seemingly mocks Drake for constantly rapping about rich shit that normal people can’t relate to (like going “from the Vava to Cinquante-Cinq, then back to the Vava” ), but there could also be some hidden layers behind them. Drake recently purchased a new Rolls Royce Phantom , and this could be a double entendre, with Dot implying that he doesn’t have to move silently like a ghost (or in the same vehicle as Drake) and he’d rather make it very loud and clear that he’s pulling up on people. Cole and Drake also reunited in a Rolls Royce Ghost in 2019, which might have pissed Kendrick off. Drake also recently bought a yacht , so in the next line, Dot raps that he doesn’t need glamorous items because “money, morals, and culture” are enough to satisfy him, implying that Drake is filling these holes in his life with material possessions. Finally, Drake frequents Ibiza as a vacation spot, so Dot appears to be saying he’s not afraid to pull up on him anywhere.

"Conspiracies about Cash, dog? That's not even the leak/ Find the jewels like Kash Doll, I just need you to think/ Are you finally ready to play have-you-ever? Let's see/ Have you ever thought that OVO is workin' for me? Fake bully, I hate bullies, you must be a terrible person/ Everyone inside your team is whispering that you deserve it”

Drake is already a very paranoid guy, with a habit of rapping about how he doesn’t trust people , so Kendrick instills even more distrust in him by insinuating that members of the OVO camp have been leaking information to him. This narrative was already established by The Weeknd on “All to Myself” when he sang about Drake having “leaks in his operation.” And on “6:16 in LA,” the “conspiracies about Cash” line might be Kendrick’s way of saying that Drake thought The Weeknd’s manager (Amir “Cash” Esmalian) was the one leaking information about him, which is why he sent shots at him on “Push Ups.” The “find the jewels like Kash Doll” line left everyone confused at first ( even Kash Doll herself ), but Dot might be referencing the time she was robbed of $500,000 worth of jewelry last year. Separately, there were also rumors that Kash Doll and Drake were dating a few years ago.

“ It was fun until you started to put money in the streets/ Then lost money 'cause they came back with no receipts/ I'm sorry that I live a boring life, I love peace/ But war-ready if the world is ready to see you bleed ”

Back in 2018, Pusha-T alluded to the fact that Drake offered $100,000 to whoever could give him ammunition to use against the Virginia rapper when they were beefing, and now Kendrick is implying that he’s trying to do the same thing this time. On “Euphoria,” Kendrick already made it clear that he won’t use these shady tactics in his own beefs, rapping, “Why would I call around tryna get dirt on niggas? Y'all think all my life is rap?” Now, Kendrick is using these bars to convince people that Drake is actually the one fighting on his back foot, desperately paying the streets to get dirt on his opponent.

“ A hundred niggas that you got on salary/ And twenty of 'em want you as a casualty/ And one of them is actually next to you/ And two of them is practically tired of your lifestyle/ Just don't got the audacity to tell you ”

Kendrick goes on to say that some members of Drake’s OVO crew have a deep disdain for him and that they’re actually closer to Dot than he might realize. Pusha-T already revealed that he found out Drake had a child through a woman who was pillow-talking with OVO producer Noah “40” Shebib, so it wouldn’t be that shocking if there were more leaks in the camp. The person “next to” Drake that Kendrick is referring to could be his right-hand man Chubbs, but there’s no way of telling for sure.

“ You're playin' nerdy with Zack Bia and Twitter bots/ But your reality can't hide behind wifi/ Your lil' memes is losin' steam, they figured you out / The forced opinions is not convincin', y'all need a new route/ It's time that you look around on who's around you/Before you figure that you're not alone, ask what Mike would do ”

First, Kendrick makes fun of Drake for aligning so closely with Zack Bia, a DJ and record executive who just opened up on the It's All A Blur Tour (here’s a full deep dive on Bia if you’re interested). Then Kendrick brings up the rumors that Drake uses Twitter bots to troll his opposition online, something that was happening to Pusha-T last year.  Kendrick hints that the memes Drake has been posting over the last few weeks aren’t working, before imploring The Boy to start investigating his own crew and find out who’s betraying him. Dot closes the diss by playing on Drake’s affinity for Michael Jackson, weaving his song “You Are Not Alone” into the bar and sarcastically telling Drake to put himself in the singer’s shoes now, since he thinks he’s “actually Michael Jackson.”

Money saving trends are constantly popping up on social media - but one in particular has been gaining huge amounts of attention.

Created accidentally by a comedian, loud budgeting is breaking down the taboo of speaking about money.

The idea is based on being firmer about your financial boundaries, setting out what you are happy to spend your money on, instead of "Keeping up with the Joneses".

On TikTok alone, videos published under the #loudbudgeting have garnered more than 30 million views - and that figure is continuing to climb.

We spoke to Lukas Battle - the 26-year-old who unintentionally created the trend as part of a comedy sketch.

Based in New York, he came up with the term in a skit about the "quiet luxury" hype, which had spread online in 2023 inspired by shows like Succession.

The term was used for humble bragging about your wealth with expensive items that were subtle in their design - for example, Gwyneth Paltrow's  £3,900 moss green wool coat from The Row, which she wore during her ski resort trial (see below).

"I was never a big fan of the quiet luxury trend, so I just kind of switched the words and wrote "loud budgeting is in". I'm tired of spending money and I don't want to pretend to be rich," Lukas said.

"That's how it started and then the TikTok comments were just obsessed with that original idea."

This was the first time he mentioned it...

He explained that it wasn't about "being poor" but more about not being afraid of sharing your financial limits and "what's profitable for you personally".

"It's not 'skip a coffee a day and you'll become a millionaire'. If you like coffee, then spend your money on coffee but cut back in other areas where you are spending like a muscle reflex," he said.

While talking money has been seen as rude or taboo, he said it's something his generation is more comfortable doing.

"I've seen more debate around the topic and I think people are really intrigued and attracted by the idea," he said.

"The idea isn't hurtful in any way, it is only a positive. It's just focusing your spending and time on things you enjoy and cutting out the things you might feel pressured to spend your money on."

He has incorporated loud budgeting into his own life, telling his friends "it's free to go outside" and opting for cheaper dinner alternatives.

"Having the terminology and knowing it's a trend helps people understand it and there's no awkward conversation around it," he said.

The trend has been a big hit with so-called American "finfluencers", or "financial influencers", but people in the UK have started practising it as well.

Mia Westrap has taken up loud budgeting by embarking on a no-buy year and sharing her finances with her 11.3k TikTok followers.

Earning roughly £2,100 a month, she spends around £1,200 on essentials, like rent, petrol and car insurance, but limits what else she can purchase.

Clothes, fizzy drinks, beauty treatments, makeup, dinners out and train tickets are just some things on her "red list".

The 26-year-old PHD student first came across the idea back in 2017, but decided to take up the challenge this year after realising she was living "pay check to pay check".

She said her "biggest fear" in the beginning was that her friends wouldn't understand what she was doing, but she found loud budgeting helped.

"I'm still trying my best to just go along with what everyone wants to do but I just won't spend money while we do it and my friends don't mind that, we don't make a big deal out of it," she said.

So far, she has been able to save £1,700, and she said talking openly about her money has been "really helpful".

"There's no way I could have got this far if I wasn't baring my soul to the internet about the money I have spent. It has been a really motivating factor."

Financial expert John Webb said loud budgeting has the ability to help many "feel empowered" and create a "more realistic" relationship with money.

"This is helping to normalise having open and honest conversations about finances," the consumer affair manager at Experien said.

"It can also reduce the anxiety some might have by keeping their financial worries to themselves."

However, he warned it's important to be cautious and to take the reality of life into consideration.

"It could cause troubles within friendship groups if they're not on the same page as you or have different financial goals," he said.

"This challenge isn’t meant to stop you from having fun, but it is designed to help people become more conscious and intentional when it comes to money, and reduce the stigma around talking about it."

Rightmove's keyword tool shows Victorian-era houses are the most commonly searched period properties, with people drawn to their ornate designs and features.

Georgian and Edwardian-style are second and third respectively, followed by Tudor properties. Regency ranked in fifth place.

Rightmove property expert Tim Bannister said: "Home hunters continue to be captivated by the character and charm of properties that we see in period dramas.

"Victorian homes remain particularly popular, characterised by their historic charm, solid construction, and spacious interiors. You'll often find Victorian houses in some of the most desirable locations which include convenient access to schools and transport links."

Job interview mistakes

On Wednesday we reported on a new £12m ad from PG Tips in response to it falling behind rivals such as Twinings, Yorkshire Tea and Tetley....

We had lots of comments like this...

How on earth was the PG Tips advert so expensive? I prefer Tetley tea, PG Tips is never strong enough flavour for me. Shellyleppard
The reason for the sales drop with PG Tips could be because they increased the price and reduced the quantity of bags from 240 to 180 - it's obvious. Royston

And then this question which we've tried to answer below...

Why have PG Tips changed from Pyramid shape tea bags, to a square? Sam

Last year PG Tips said it was changing to a square bag that left more room for leaves to infuse, as the bags wouldn't fold over themselves.

We reported on data showing how downsizing could save you money for retirement - more than £400,000, in some regions, by swapping four beds for two.

Some of our readers shared their experiences...

We are downsizing and moving South so it's costing us £100k extra for a smaller place, all money from retirement fund. AlanNorth
Interesting read about downsizing for retirement. We recently did this to have the means to retire early at 52. However, we bought a house in the south of France for the price of a flat in our town in West Sussex. Now living the dream! OliSarah

How much should we pay for food?

Executive chef at London's two-Michelin-starred Ikoyi, Jeremy Chan, raised eyebrows when he suggested to the Money blog that Britons don't pay enough for restaurant food.

Ikoyi, the 35th best restaurant in the world, charges £320 for its tasting menu.

"I don't think people pay enough money for food, I think we charge too little, [but] we want to always be accessible to as many people as possible, we're always trying our best to do that," he said, in a piece about his restaurant's tie up with Uber Eats...

We had this in...

Are they serious? That is two weeks' worth of food shopping for me, if the rich can afford this "tasting menu" then they need to be taxed even more by the government, it's just crazy! Steve T
If the rate of pay is proportionate to the vastly overpriced costs of the double Michelin star menu, I would gladly peel quail eggs for four-hour stints over continuing to be abused as a UK supply teacher. AndrewWard
Does this two-star Michelin star chef live in the real world? Who gives a toss if he stands and peels his quails eggs for four hours, and he can get the best turbot from the fishmonger fresh on a daily basis? It doesn't justify the outrageous price he is charging for his tasting menu. Topaztraveller
Chefs do make me laugh, a steak is just a steak, they don't make the meat! They just cook it like the rest of us, but we eat out because we can't be bothered cooking! StevieGrah

Finally, many of you reacted to this feature on common mistakes in job interviews...

Those 10 biggest mistakes people make in interviews is the dumbest thing I've ever read. They expect all that and they'll be offering a £25k a year job. Why wouldn't I want to know about benefits and basic sick pay? And also a limp handshake? How's that relevant to how you work? Jre90

Others brought their own tips...

Whenever I go for an interview I stick to three points: 1. Be yourself 2. Own the interview 3. Wear the clothes that match the job you are applying Kevin James Blakey

From Sunday, eligible working parents of children from nine-months-old in England will be able to register for access to up to 15 free hours of government-funded childcare per week.

This will then be granted from September.

Check if you're eligible  here  - or read on for our explainer on free childcare across the UK.

Three and four year olds

In England, all parents of children aged three and four in England can claim 15 hours of free childcare per week, for 1,140 hours (38 weeks) a year, at an approved provider.

This is a universal offer open to all.

It can be extended to 30 hours where both parents (or the sole parent) are in work, earn the weekly minimum equivalent of 16 hours at the national minimum or living wage, and have an income of less than £100,000 per year.

Two year olds

Previously, only parents in receipt of certain benefits were eligible for 15 hours of free childcare.

But, as of last month, this was extended to working parents.

This is not a universal offer, however.

A working parent must earn more than £8,670 but less than £100,000 per year. For couples, the rule applies to both parents.

Nine months old

In September, this same 15-hour offer will be extended to working parents of children aged from nine months. From 12 May, those whose children will be at least nine months old on 31 August can apply to received the 15 hours of care from September.

From September 2025

The final change to the childcare offer in England will be rolled out in September 2025, when eligible working parents of all children under the age of five will be able to claim 30 hours of free childcare a week.

In some areas of Wales, the Flying Start early years programme offers 12.5 hours of free childcare for 39 weeks, for eligible children aged two to three. The scheme is based on your postcode area, though it is currently being expanded.

All three and four-year-olds are entitled to free early education of 10 hours per week in approved settings during term time under the Welsh government's childcare offer.

Some children of this age are entitled to up to 30 hours per week of free early education and childcare over 48 weeks of the year. The hours can be split - but at least 10 need to be used on early education.

To qualify for this, each parent must earn less than £100,000 per year, be employed and earn at least the equivalent of working 16 hours a week at the national minimum wage, or be enrolled on an undergraduate, postgraduate or further education course that is at least 10 weeks in length.

All three and four-year-olds living in Scotland are entitled to at least 1,140 hours per year of free childcare, with no work or earnings requirements for parents.

This is usually taken as 30 hours per week over term time (38 weeks), though each provider will have their own approach.

Some households can claim free childcare for two-year-olds. To be eligible you have to be claiming certain benefits such as Income Support, Jobseeker's Allowance or Universal Credit, or have a child that is in the care of their local council or living with you under a guardianship order or kinship care order.

Northern Ireland

There is no scheme for free childcare in Northern Ireland. Some other limited support is available.

Working parents can access support from UK-wide schemes such as tax credits, Universal Credit, childcare vouchers and tax-free childcare.

Aside from this, all parents of children aged three or four can apply for at least 12.5 hours a week of funded pre-school education during term time. But over 90% of three-year-olds have a funded pre-school place - and of course this is different to childcare.

What other help could I be eligible for?

Tax-free childcare  - Working parents in the UK can claim up to £500 every three months (up to £2,000 a year) for each of their children to help with childcare costs.

If the child is disabled, the amount goes up to £1,000 every three months (up to £4,000 a year).

To claim the benefit, parents will need to open a tax-free childcare account online. For every 80p paid into the account, the government will top it up by 20p.

The scheme is available until the September after the child turns 11.

Universal credit  - Working families on universal credit can claim back up to 85% of their monthly childcare costs, as long as the care is paid for upfront. The most you can claim per month is £951 for one child or £1,630 for two or more children.

Tax credits -  People claiming working tax credit can get up to 70% of what they pay for childcare if their costs are no more than £175 per week for one child or £300 per work for multiple children.

Two big economic moments dominated the news agenda in Money this week - interest rates and GDP.

As expected, the Bank of England held the base rate at 5.25% on Wednesday - but a shift in language was instructive about what may happen next.

Bank governor Andrew Bailey opened the door to a summer cut to 5%, telling reporters that an easing of rates at the next Monetary Policy Committee meeting on 20 June was neither ruled out nor a fait accompli.

More surprisingly, he suggested that rate cuts, when they start, could go deeper "than currently priced into market rates".

He refused to be drawn on what that path might look like - but markets had thought rates could bottom out at 4.5% or 4.75% this year, and potentially 3.5% or 4% next.

"To make sure that inflation stays around the 2% target - that inflation will neither be too high nor too low - it's likely that we will need to cut Bank rate over the coming quarters and make monetary policy somewhat less restrictive over the forecast period," Mr Bailey said.

You can read economics editor Ed Conway's analysis of the Bank's decision here ...

On Friday we discovered the UK is no longer in recession.

Gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 0.6% between January and March, the Office for National Statistics said.

This followed two consecutive quarters of the economy shrinking.

The data was more positive than anticipated.

"Britain is not just out of recession," wrote Conway. "It is out of recession with a bang."

The UK has seen its fastest growth since the tailend of the pandemic - and Conway picked out three other reasons for optimism.

1/ An economic growth rate of 0.6% is near enough to what economists used to call "trend growth". It's the kind of number that signifies the economy growing at more or less "normal" rates.

2/ 0.6% means the UK is, alongside Canada, the fastest-growing economy in the G7 (we've yet to hear from Japan, but economists expect its economy to contract in the first quarter).

3/ Third, it's not just gross domestic product that's up. So too is gross domestic product per head - the number you get when you divide our national income by every person in the country. After seven years without any growth, GDP per head rose by 0.4% in the first quarter.

GDP per head is a more accurate yardstick for the "feelgood factor", said Conway - perhaps meaning people will finally start to feel better off.

Loaves of bread have been recalled from shelves in Japan after they were found to contain the remains of a rat.

Production of the bread in Tokyo has been halted after parts of a "small animal" were found by at least two people.

Pasco Shikishima Corp, which produces the bread, said 104,000 packages have been recalled as it apologised and promised compensation.

A company representative told Sky News's US partner network, NBC News, that a "small black rat" was found in the bread. No customers were reported to have fallen ill as a result of ingesting the contaminated bread.

"We deeply apologise for the serious inconvenience and trouble this has caused to our customers, suppliers, and other concerned parties," the spokesman said.

Pasco added in a separate statement that "we will do our utmost to strengthen our quality controls so that this will never happen again. We ask for your understanding and your co-operation."

Japanese media reports said at least two people who bought the bread in the Gunma prefecture, north-west of Tokyo, complained to the company about finding a rodent in the bread.

Record levels of shoplifting appear to be declining as fewer shopkeepers reported thefts last year, new figures show.

A survey by the Office for National Statistics shows 26% of retailers experienced customer theft in 2023, down from a record high of 28% in 2022.

This comes despite a number of reports suggesting shoplifting is becoming more frequent.

A  separate ONS finding , which used police crime data, showed reports of shoplifting were at their highest level in 20 years in 2023, with law enforcements logging 430,000 instances of the crime.

Let's get you up to speed on the biggest business news of the past 24 hours.

A privately owned used-car platform is circling Cazoo Group, its stricken US-listed rival, which is on the brink of administration.

Sky News has learnt that Motors.co.uk is a leading contender to acquire Cazoo's marketplace operation, which would include its brand and intellectual property assets.

The process to auction the used-car platform's constituent parts comes after it spent tens of millions of pounds on sponsorship deals in football, snooker and darts in a rapid attempt to gain market share.

The owner of British Airways has reported a sharp rise in profits amid soaring demand for trips and a fall in the cost of fuel.

International Airlines Group said its operating profit for the first three months of the year was €68m (£58.5m) - above expectations and up from €9m (£7.7m) during the same period in 2023.

The company, which also owns Aer Lingus, Iberia and Vueling, said earnings had soared thanks to strong demand, particularly over the Easter holidays.

The prospect of a strike across Tata Steel's UK operations has gained further traction after a key union secured support for industrial action.

Community, which has more than 3,000 members, said 85% voted in favour of fighting the India-owned company's plans for up to 2,800 job losses, the majority of them at the country's biggest steelworks in Port Talbot, South Wales.

Tata confirmed last month it was to press ahead with the closure of the blast furnaces at the plant, replacing them with electric arc furnaces to reduce emissions and costs.

In doing so, the company rejected an alternative plan put forward by the Community, GMB and Unite unions that, they said, would raise productivity and protect jobs across the supply chain.
