The Ultimate Bus Trip to Brooklyn
Brooklyn, NY
We traveled down to Washington on 20 buses to say hello to Carson this past September and now it’s time to go north to say hello to another friend of ours!
Join us for our first Sixers trip of 2023! This is a Saturday day trip to Brooklyn where we will travel, eat, drink, and sit together in our 76ers fan section! We can’t wait to give our old friend, Ben Simmons, a visit. There is no guarantee that Ben will play when the Nets come to Philly, so this may be your only chance this season to give him a warm “Philly Welcome”.
The Philadelphia 76ers are playing the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday, February 11 at 6:00PM. The Barclays Center which the Nets call home is only 2 hours away from Philadelphia. For a die-hard Sixers fan, we can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday in February than by making the trip to Brooklyn to support our team.
We leave on charter buses from the South Philadelphia stadiums around 3:00PM. Food and beverages will be provided by Cav’s Catering for the ride to New York. We have group tickets for everyone so our cheering section can take over and make those Nets fans wish they stayed at home. Everyone will be back home to Philadelphia on Saturday night after the game.
This is a one day all-inclusive event that any Sixers fan can be a part of. Click the link for availability. Spots are limited!

Where to Watch the Philadelphia 76ers Playoffs:
Philly’s top sports bars are sure to be bumping for each and every game. Below are a few options for where to watch.
- XFINITY Live!: Located in the heart of the sports complex in South Philadelphia, XFINITY Live! is dedicated to dining and entertainment. (1100 Pattison Avenue).
- Buffalo Billiards: While this Old City sports bar and billiards hall is a popular gathering spot for college football and NFL fans, the atmosphere has proven to be just as electric during the Sixers playoffs. Work out some of that nervous pregame energy by shooting pool, throwing darts or hopping on one of two regulation shuffleboards (118 Chestnut Street).
- Chickie’s and Pete’s: Chickie’s & Pete’s super-sized South Philly location — a short walk from the Wells Fargo Center — boasts three bars, a 14-foot television (perfectly sized for admiring James Harden double-doubles) and the venue’s signature Crabfries®. Not near South Philly? No worries: You can also score those crave-worthy fries at a number of other Chickie’s & Pete’s locations throughout Greater Philadelphia, including in Malvern, Upper Darby and Warrington (multiple locations including 1526 Packer Avenue).
- Founding Fathers Sports Bar & Grill: There isn’t a bad seat in the house at South Street’s Founding Fathers Sports Bar & Grill , thanks to the 13 TVs lining the walls. An expansive list of craft beers and a menu full of sandwiches, wings and pizza add to the game day atmosphere (1612 South Street).
- Garage: “Cold beers right heres” is the slogan at this mechanic-themed bar , which boasts an impressive canned beer selection at locations in East Passyunk and Fishtown. You can add “cheers and jeers” to that tagline during Sixers’ playoff games with tuned-in fans glued to the action on TVs lining several walls. Full injury report for tyrese maxey, sixers vs. spurs to finish road trip, share this article.
The Philadelphia 76ers will finish their 3-game road trip on Sunday when they pay a visit to the San Antonio Spurs. The Sixers have won four in a row and are looking to finish off a 3-0 trip and return home for the final thee games of the regular season.
When the Sixers take on the Spurs, they will be a bit short-handed. Once again, De’Anthony Melton (lumbar spine bone stress) and Robert Covington (left knee bone bruise) are out for this contest. Kyle Lowry (rest) and Joel Embiid (left knee injury recovery) are also out against the Spurs.
As for Tyrese Maxey (left hip tightness) and Tobias Harris (left knee contusion), they are questionable against the Spurs.
Embiid played in Saturday’s win over the Memphis Grizzlies. It makes sense to sit him in the second night of back-to-back.
De’Anthony Melton and Robert Covington also remain out tonight. Kyle Lowry is also out tonight due to rest. Tyrese Maxey (left hip tightness) and Tobias Harris (left knee contusion) are listed as questionable. #Sixers — Ky Carlin (@Ky_Carlin) April 7, 2024
Tip off from the Frost Bank Center is set for 7 p.m. EDT. The Sixers need to take advantage of a struggling Spurs team to move up in the standings.

Joel Embiid injury update: Nick Nurse says 76ers star will 'work out' with team on upcoming road trip
Embiid was on the court at practice on thursday.
As teams continue to jostle for playoff position in the final weeks of the NBA regular season, there's a giant, 7-foot cloud hanging over the entire Eastern Conference: Will 76ers superstar Joel Embiid return and, if so, when?
Nick Nurse did not share a return-to-play timeline at practice on Thursday, but told reporters that Embiid would be on the road with the Sixers when they visit Cleveland on Friday and Toronto on Sunday.
"He is going on the trip to work out, yes." Nurse said, via KYW Newsradio's Dave Uram .
Embiid was on the court at practice, but he's not yet playing 5-on-5 or taking contact. He has missed 28 games after suffering a meniscus injury on Jan. 30 at Golden State that required surgery on Feb. 6.
"Joel was in practice -- I mean, [he didn't] really practice, but he was in today, doing work," Nurse said. "He was doing it against other players. Just kind of skill work, with kind of some live bodies."
👀 @PennMedicine pic.twitter.com/CCkOqJfSOH — Philadelphia 76ers (@sixers) March 28, 2024
The day after a heartbreaking ( and controversial ) loss against the Clippers , Nurse said that he'd love to have Embiid -- and De'Anthony Melton and Robert Covington , who are also sidelined -- back in the lineup, but, in the meantime, he is ready to go "into battle with the guys here, to continue to polish and improve this group."
"I still don't, like, have a timeline," Nurse said. "I'd love to give you one. I mean, I would love to not have to continue this [back and forth about Embiid's status] -- and that means he's back playing, right? -- but, again, I think that it's coming. But I also understand that, like, I see some growth here. I think this is helping us."
Sixers head coach Nick Nurse said Joel Embiid will go on this road trip to workout. There remains no timeline for Embiid returning. @KYWNewsradio pic.twitter.com/EeAnRDaTM3 — Dave Uram (@MrUram) March 28, 2024
Prior to the 108-107 loss in Los Angeles. Nurse said there is a "very good likelihood" that Embiid will return before the postseason. This was music to the ears of the 76ers and their fans, but Nurse did not offer a concrete timeline then, either.
"I think there's a very good likelihood that he will return before the play-in/playoff," Nurse told reporters, via NBC Sports Philadelphia .
Embiid has been "out there working," Nurse said. "He's doing lots of skill work and things like that, and just trying to continue to advance, all that stuff."
Asked if Embiid has sccrimmaged with the Sixers' low-minute players yet, Nurse implied he has not. "He's on the court," he said. "So, we'll let you know when he gets to those stages."
"I think there is a very good likelihood that he will return before the play-in playoff." Nick Nurse gave an update on Joel Embiid with just 10 games left in the regular season 👀 pic.twitter.com/ybn3UvbatJ — NBC Sports Philadelphia (@NBCSPhilly) March 27, 2024
ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Wednesday that there is optimism in the organization that Embiid could play multiple regular-season games before the postseason begins on April 16.
"I'm told it is not a question of if, but when," Wojnarowski said . "The belief is, with nine regular-season games left ... that Joel Embiid can be back for a handful of those before the playoffs."
Embiid hasn't played since the end of January due to surgery on his left knee. At the time of his injury, Embiid appeared to be on his way to a second straight MVP award, averaging 35 points, 11 rebounds and a career-high six assists per game on 53/37/88 shooting splits. He scored 14 points in the last game he played, which snapped a streak of 22 consecutive 30-point games, a feat only surpassed by James Harden and Wilt Chamberlain. Embiid poured in a career-high 70 points against the Spurs on Jan. 22.
A month ago, Embiid said that he planned on returning this season .
"That's the plan," Embiid told reporters, "Obviously, everything has to go right as far as getting healthy and being as close as I'm supposed to be. But yeah, that's the plan."
Embiid's potential return essentially blows up the entire Eastern Conference hierarchy. The 76ers were flirting with the No. 2 seed at the time of his injury and are now in the No. 8 spot, having gone 13-26 without their franchise player on the season. If Embiid rejoins the lineup and approaches his pre-injury form, the Sixers could be one of the most imposing lower seeds in NBA history.
Philadelphia's front office has been operating as if Embiid would be back, adding guards Buddy Hield , Kyle Lowry and Cameron Payne to the roster in February. Given the emergence of All-Star Tyrese Maxey and how well the Sixers' pieces seemed to fit for about three months, Embiid's return could make them a legitimate threat to come out of the East. To do so, however, they might have to survive the play-in and get past the Celtics , who have already clinched the top seed, or the Milwaukee Bucks , who are currently second, in Round 1. At 39-34, Philadelphia is a game behind the seventh-place Heat and sixth-place Pacers in the loss column. It would surely love to overtake both teams and avoid the play-in entirely, but time is running out.
After visiting Cleveland and Toronto, the Sixers will host the Thunder next Tuesday before a three-game road trip against Miami, Memphis and San Antonio and a three-game homestand against Detroit, Orlando and Brooklyn to close the season.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Dash camera video released Thursday by a Texas school district shows the moment a cement truck veered into oncoming traffic, hitting a school bus carrying more than 40 pre-K students returning from a zoo field trip.
The deadly collision on March 22 sends the bus rolling over on a rural highway outside Austin. The video released by the Hays Consolidated Independent School District shows papers from the bus strewn across the road and other drivers leaving their cars to race toward the bus.

Eleven adults were also aboard the bus.
The crash remains under investigation. Authorities have not said how fast the vehicles were traveling.

Doc Rivers Suggests Travel Crew May Be to Blame For Bucks' Road Losses
Why are the Bucks struggling on the road? Only Doc Rivers knows.
- Author: Stephen Douglas, Special to SI.com
The Milwaukee Bucks have lost four of their last five games and are clinging to a 1.5-game lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers for the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference. On Wednesday nightm they dropped a home game to the Memphis Grizzlies, who started Scotty Pippen Jr. and Trey Jemison. The night before they lost to the Washington Wizards.
It was the loss to the Wizards that had Doc Rivers answering some big questions. Mainly, what the heck is going on with this team on the road? Milwaukee is just 18-20 in away games this season and losing to the Wizards under any circumstances in 2024 is reason enough to do some pondering. But Doc has been doing more than pondering. He's also been observing. Keenly. And he told the press about it following the loss in Washington.
"You know, it's funny," Rivers said . "I've actually been sitting back and watching everything. Not just our players, but our travel crew. Everything. And I've made a lot of notes. I will say that. I won't share that. But we don't bring the necessary professionalism, seriousness on the road. And that's something we can fix. And that's something we're going to have to fix."
Asked a follow-up question, Rivers again mentioned the performance of the travel staff.
"I'm looking at it for the long run too. It's not just for now. We've got to be a better road team. If we're not, we're doing something wrong. As a coaching staff we have to figure out what we need to do different as far as practices and training. As a travel staff, not talking players, we may have to do something different there too. Because something's missing and everybody seems happy, you know? Except for me after a game. So I just think we're doing something wrong and we need to figure that out."
When teams are struggling it's not unusual for the coach to suggest the players or coaches need to make adjustments, but this might be the first time anyone has ever pointed to the "travel staff." Is this about hotel accomodations? Pilots and bus drivers? The way jerseys are laid out in the visitors locker room?
It's unfortunate Rivers said he isn't going to share his notes on the situation because whatever is going on with the travel staff sounds fascinating. Especially since the players are apparently still in a good mood. You would think they would be the ones most affected by these behind-the-scenes issues that are apparently contributing to the losses. Only Doc knows for sure and he currently just sitting back and watching.
Stephen Douglas is a staff writer for The Big Lead.

It was great to be able to be there by ourselves and the monk that showed us around and Anton both were obviously very passionate about the monastery so you were able to understand much better what the various churches and icons meant to them The view from the bell tower was awesome even if the climb up took some faith! Dinner was very good except for my wife who doesn't like fish and that is all they eat at the monastery besides vegetables, but still very unique dinner. Read more Written February 9, 2020

- TanechkaVas 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles The whole day tour to Zvenigorod, the country side of Moscow, with Anton. We organized that tour from Australia well ahead of time, planning to visit Zvenigorod with big group of extended family and friends with teens as part of our New Year trip to Moscow. The communication with Anton, our guide, was excellent during the time since booking till the excursion day. The actual day was organized very good, taken into account mixed group of adults, born in USSR and kids, born in Australia. Anton organized our activities to be suitable for all of us. As adults, we were enjoyed country side during winter and Monastery's quietness and ability to jump to the cold "holy" water at one of the oldest Monasteries of Russia - Savva Storoghevskiy Man Monastery. That was the most amazing and nearly magical experience! Kids were enjoyed of snow and treats Anton provide for us, including buisquits and Sbiten'. We also visited very interesting Museum of Russian desserts and learn a lot about ancient russian sweets; have a look on our past in the Museum of USSR and bought some yammie things to enjoy later. In general we all agree that our tour to Zvenigorod with Anton was enjoyable and educational; well organized and unforgettable. We wish we would have more time there! We would recommend such trip to everyone wishing to see Russia's country side. Read more Written January 17, 2020

NEW YORK (AP) — The NBA fined the Philadelphia 76ers $100,000 on Friday for violating injury reporting rules by initially listing Joel Embiid as out in a game he later played in.
Embiid returned from a 29-game absence after left knee surgery Tuesday night, leading the 76ers to a 109-105 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. That came after the 76ers had listed him as being out in the initial injury report. He was upgraded to questionable by late afternoon.
Teams are required to list the status of a player whose participation may be affected by injury by 5 p.m. local time the day before a game, unless they are on a back-to-back. The injury report is then updated throughout the course of the day.
The league said it took into account the 76ers’ history of fines for violating the injury reporting rules. The Sixers had been penalized $75,000 on Feb. 1 for not accurately including Embiid on their report in a timely matter for their game against Denver on Jan. 27, just before he sustained a torn meniscus that required surgery.

Want to feel like a real Muscovite and experience the atmosphere or this extraordinary city in just a few hours? Then explore ithe main artery of Moscow - the Garden Ring.
After you visited the ancient Kremlin, explored the area of Kitay Gorod and enjoyed the sights of White city, it's time to move on and take a ride along the 17th century border of Moscow - the Garden Ring.
After we explore the Stalin skyscraper - building of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we will turn to Old Arbat pedestrian zone. You will see lovely houses of 19 centuries and feel the atmosphere of old Moscow, as the Arbat preserved it almost untouched.
In 90-s Arbat was chosen by the members of numerous subcultures as the place for hangout. Nowadays Arbat is Bohemian place and one of Moscow's symbols. But long time ago it was just a suburb.
Soon we’ll find ourselves on New Arbat, that was founded in 60-s, and was conceived as a government road. This New Arbat dramatically differs from the Old Arbat.
Patriarch Ponds
One more beloved place among the Muscovites with a very rich history. A lots of famous and outstanding personalities lived in this area: poets, scientists, militaries and even criminals. In 17 century Patriarch Hermogenus founded a Patriarch's village here, hence the name. Moreover, this place is famous all over the world thanks to the genius Russian writer M. Bulgakov. He chose Patriarch's ponds as the scene of his novel "The Master and Margarita".
Hermitage Garden
The next coziest and memorable place for all of Muscovites is Hermitage Garden. Before the Revolution it was a Bohemian place, frequently attended by the great actors and writers, art workers, and patrons. Here for the first time in Moscow a movie of Lumiere's brothers was shown. Today tradition continues and there are two theaters inside the park, lots of memorials and fun.
Museon Park & Gorky Park
Today Muscovites can't imagine their leisure activities without visiting Museon Statues Park and Gorky Park. These are fun areas. Take a look at Soviet monuments of Communist rulers, take a walk along the embankment, note what's wrong with the Peter's the Great monument, enjoy big musical fountain in Gorky park and observe how Russians spend their free time.
Crimean bridge
The last part of our Moscow bus tour you'll spend walking over the Crimean bridge. Long time ago on that place was a ford, which the Crimean Tatars used in order to attack Muscovy, that's why it was called Crimean. This hanging bridge is the one of a kind in Moscow. Moreover, it serves as a fabulous observation point, it is really a mysterious place.
On the tour you will find out:
- why Stalin was mad when he saw the building of Ministry of Foreign Affairs;
- how Muscovites truly call New Arbat;
- the real reason why Bulgakov chose Patriarch's ponds as the scene where Devil arrived for the first time;
- who suggested to build Moscow rings;
- where are hidden all the gardens on the Garden Ring;
- why Crimean bridge is very dangerous.
On the tour you will see:
- Historical buildings of 19 century;
- Stalin's Empire;
- 4 out of 7 Stalin Skyscrapers;
- Old and New Arbat;
- Most popular Moscow Parks;
- First electric street lamp in Moscow;
- Main squares of the city;
- Fascinating non touristy places;
- Muscovites daily life and transportation.
Fun Facts from our Bus Tours:
What is the garden ring in moscow.
Actually, we call the Garden Ring a series of streets, separated by the squares.
A great number of fascinating and historical places a re situated on the Garden Ring. Traveling along that street, you can briefly learn about all main areas of Moscow, learn its history and meaning. It will help you to navigate Moscow better and surely you can feel more like a local on this tour.
Every square on the Garden Ring has its own historical background. For example, Sukharevskaya square in 19 century hosted a market. It was very popular among Muscovites, but usually stolen things were sold there. Often people had to buy there their own stuff again after it was stolen. The Smolenskaya, Crimean, Serpukhovskaya, Taganskaya squares were market places too.
Triumphalnaya square bears its name in memory of triumphal arch that stood here to commemorate the victory over Sweden, built by the order of Peter the Great, as well as Red Gate square placed another triumphal arch. In the beginning of 20 century Triumphal square was a cultural place. Several theaters were situated there, Meyerhold’s theater among them, a circus and a park.
Three squares of the Garden Ring became real battlefields during the revolution between the bolsheviks and tsar's supporters in 1917. And finally capitulation of royal regime was signed in the building, situated on the Garden Ring.
"And the Garden ring became a wedding ring to us…"
These are words from the official soundtrack to the very popular soviet movie "Moscow does not believe in tears" that has won an American Academy Award for the best foreign language film in 1980. Not coincidentally Garden Ring is mentioned in this song as a symbol of Moscow. As it is very important part of our city, it reflects all historical events beginning from the end of 16th century.
A Garden Ring? No. An earthern rampart!
The territory outside White city's wall was called Earthern city . The Earthern city was an area were traditionally poor citizens used to settle: peasants and craftsmen. In comparison with the White city this area has always been dirty and less prestigious. For example, in White city streets were paved in stone and buildings stood on the stone basements while Earthern city had only wooden houses.
This area was proclaimed as a part of Moscow only in 1593. And great fortification wooden wall, that surrounded the territory of Earthern city, was erected by the order of tsar Fyodor Ioannovich only in a year and was called "Skorodom" - fast-built house. Outside Skorodom was additionally fortificated with the moat and the rampart.
In Times of Troubles Skorodom was burnt down by Poles and restored by the Great Tsar Alexis Mikhailovich the Silent. Finally it had 57 towers and 11 entry gates. Nowadays on that spots, where gates once stood, you can spot the main squares of Moscow.
Skorodom was destroyed and restored a lot's of times: during the Times of Troubles, Napoleon's invasion, in frequent Moscow fires. And finally in 1830 Skorodom was demolished as it lost its functions.
Miraculous transfiguration on Stalin’s orders
In 1917 the Great October revolution blew up everything that seemed to be right at that time. And in 1930-s Moscow was reconstructed… again. This time communists were making Moscow a model of communistic city. Surely that large-scale reconstruction touched the Garden Ring. The road was widened up to 60-70 meters, paved and became a ring with the help of new bridges: Crimean and Krasnokholmskiy. Since that time the Garden Ring is considered the main artery of Moscow.
