I have been bringing my friends and clients on this wonderful experience for years. Whenever we are together, without fail, the topic of Matteo and the fabulous day of boating is always re-lived and spoken about with such fondness, and such enthusiasm. It is an experience beyond memorable. It is something NOT to be missed when on the coast. Doumina
This was hands down my favorite activity we did while in Southern Italy. The yacht was AMAZING! The crew was so helpful and took the time to point out parts of the Amalfi Coast and were knowledgeable about the area. Matteo was so easy to communicate/book with!!! I highly recommends this company to anyone looking for a fun, personalized cruise around the Amalfi Coast! You will NOT regret it!!! Amanda
All I have to say is “WOW”!!! The yacht we rented was amazing, the boat crew is awesome and the Amalfi Coast sunset cruise was breathtaking! I highly recommends this company to anyone looking for a fun personalized cruise around the Amalfi Coast! Chris Savage

Travel Tips for Taking an Amalfi Coast Boat Tour

  • Choose the Perfect Time: The Amalfi Coast tends to be less crowded during the shoulder seasons (April to June and September to October). The weather is still warm, and you’ll avoid the summer rush.
  • Dress Appropriately: Be ready to get a tad wet! Bring along a windbreaker or light jacket to protect yourself from the spray, and don’t forget your swimsuit if you plan on swimming.
  • Bring Sun Protection: The Mediterranean sun is very strong. Hats, sunglasses, and a good sunscreen are must-haves.
  • Stay Hydrated: It’s easy to forget about hydration when the limoncello is flowing, but no one wants to end up with heat exhaustion. Bring along bottled water to keep dehydration at bay.
  • Don’t Forget Your Camera: The views are breathtaking and you’ll want to capture them, but just make sure you have a dry bag to put it in when not in use.
  • Check Weather Forecasts: Sea conditions can change rapidly, so it’s always a good idea to check the weather before your tour. If it’s not looking like ideal weather, you can always contact your operator about rescheduling.
  • Consider a Private Tour: If you are traveling in a group or want a more personalized experience, consider booking a private boat tour. It’ll be more expensive, but it can be quite romantic if you’re traveling with your partner or way more fun in my opinion if you have a big group of your friends going.
  • Respect the Sea: Remember, you’re a guest in a natural environment. Always follow the instructions of your guide, keep the sea clean, and respect marine life. No trash should end up off the boat!

In the map of the Amalfi Coast below, I’ve also included Naples in case you plan on taking a flight or bus there. This will help you gauge how much additional travel time you’ll want to plan for if you’re Italian itinerary is a bit tight!

FAQ: Amalfi Coast Boat Tours

In this section, I’ll be providing some helpful information for your boat excursion around the Amalfi Coast including the average cost of a boat tour, how long the tours are, and even if you’re allowed to rent your own boat for the day!

Is a Boat Tour on the Amalfi Coast Worth It?

Many Amalfi Coast boat tours drive you around a large part of the coastline

A boat tour of the Amalfi Coast is undoubtedly worth it. It offers a distinctive perspective of the region’s stunning beauty from its dramatic cliffs and sparkling turquoise waters to its picturesque coastal towns.

Apart from the impressive sights, many tours also include opportunities to swim or snorkel in the clear Mediterranean waters, explore captivating sea caves, or even stop at popular sites like the island of Capri.

A boat tour is a fantastic way to experience the best of what the Amalfi Coast has to offer, delivering a memorable adventure that’s well worth the investment.

How Much is a Boat Tour on the Amalfi Coast?

The cost of a boat tour on the Amalfi Coast can vary significantly depending on a variety of factors including the duration, the time of year, if food or beverages are included, and whether it’s a private or group tour. On average, you can expect to pay anywhere from $100 to $500 per person.

I’m not going to lie to you… some luxury private tours can even exceed this range! There’s no doubting that Amalfi boat tours will cost you a pretty penny, but you can make it more affordable by choosing a group tour with fewer inclusions.

It’s also worth noting that if you do choose a tour with more inclusions, sure… it’s going to cost more, but these complimentary refreshments, snorkeling gear, or expert skipper may be the difference in your overall experience and could end up making the cost more worthwhile.

How Long is a Boat Ride to Capri from Amalfi?

amalfi coast boat tour private

The boat ride length from Amalfi to Capri can vary depending on the type of boat and the weather, but on average, it typically takes around 1 to 1.5 hours (though you will likely see estimates of between 1-3 hours).

This can stretch to 2 hours or more if the tour includes sightseeing stops along the way or the sea is rough. Therefore, it’s always a good idea to check the specific details with the tour operator when you book and follow up with them the day prior to departure.

Is it Better to See the Amalfi Coast by Car or Boat?

Seeing the Amalfi Coast by boat presents a uniquely breathtaking perspective that a car journey simply cannot offer. The undulating coastline reveals hidden coves, secluded beaches, and dramatic cliff faces only visible from the water.

Of course, you can’t spend your entire visit on a boat, but I would certainly say it’s a “piece of the puzzle” so to speak, that shouldn’t be overlooked.

A car journey also allows for spontaneous stops at charming coastal towns, local eateries, and panoramic viewpoints, providing a more intimate feel of the region’s culture and lifestyle. They allow you to be entirely on your own time and provide the flexibility that you miss on a group tour.

Ultimately, both options deliver distinct and worthwhile experiences, but do your best to get out on the water even if it’s only for an hour or two!

How Much Does a Private Boat Tour to Capri Cost?

From Positano Beach, you'll see numerous Amalfi Coast boat tours happening out on the water

The cost of a private boat tour to Capri can vary greatly depending on factors, but on average, a private boat tour to Capri may cost between $500 to over $1000 per group.

Luxury tours featuring larger boats, gourmet meals, or limoncello, can cost significantly more (think $2,000-$3,000 USD).

Can I Rent My Own Boat and Drive it Around the Amalfi Coast?

Yes, renting your own boat is an option for exploring the Amalfi Coast. Numerous rental agencies along the coast offer a range of boats for hire, from small motorboats to luxury yachts. No special license is required for small boats, making it an accessible choice for many visitors.

It’s an exciting way to set your own pace, explore less crowded areas, and have a personalized adventure. However, it’s imperative to keep in mind that you’ll – quite literally – be navigating unchartered waters on your own, so you’ll want to have experience with driving boats on the ocean, in narrow, busy areas with numerous other boaters and swimmers around, all while being aware of the local maritime rules to ensure everyone’s safety on the water.

Keep in mind that boat availability can be limited during peak tourist season, so booking in advance is advisable.

Pssst… if you want to enjoy Capri or Positano by consistently sipping on local beers and limoncello while baking in the hot sun all day, please join a tour and pay a skipper – don’t try to drive yourself! You’ll remove your liability and no one will have to worry about who the designated driver is going to be – everyone in your group can let loose and have fun! Sure, it’s more expensive, but it will keep everyone safe and if you split the cost between everyone in your group it can actually be quite reasonable.

Private Boat Tour on the Amalfi Coast, how much does it cost and all your questions answered

amalfi coast boat tour private

Everything you need to know when booking a private boat tour on the Amalfi Coast

Create unforgettable experiences with a private boat tour on the Amalfi Coast. Exploring the cities like Sorrento, Capri and Positano with transparent turquoise water along the Amalfi coastline while being kissed by the Italian sun is an adventure you’ll never forget. How much it costs, how to navigate from Naples to Capri, what kind of private boat tours are available and everything in between; keep reading and you’ll discover all there is to know!

Here are all your questions answered and everything you need to know to get started on your private boat trip to the Amalfi Coast:

Is it worth taking a private boat trip to the Amalfi Coast? Absolutely! A private boat tour along the Amalfi Coast is an experience like no other. From the town of Amalfi to the colorful cliffside of Positano, the stunning coastline of Maiori, and hidden gems like the  Blue Grotto , a private boat tour provides the perfect opportunity to soak in the beauty of these breathtaking towns from a unique perspective on the water.

How much does a private boat tour to the Amalfi Coast cost? The price of a private boat cruise can depend on a few things - First of all if it's private for you or shared with other people. Clearly private experiences are much more expensive than group tours. But it's also a matter of how long you'd like to have the boat for (half-day, full day, multi-day cruise) how big the boat is, where you're starting from, how many people are joining, what kind of boat it is and more. What's included in the package will also affect the cost. Just to give an idea, the price for a private boat tour for a full day will start from €800-1500 with the smaller boats, €2000-3000 with medium size boats, €4000-5000 with the larger boats and it can go over €10k with the top luxury yachts.

Where does the private boat tour start? The good news is that you have options when it comes to departure points for the private boat tour - whether you're docking at the port of Naples (a go-to for cruise enthusiasts), prefer to embark from the charming locales of Positano, Capri, Sorrento or stay in less crowded towns like Ravello, Minori or Maiori - the choice is all yours. If your accommodations come equipped with a private pier, you can even be picked up from your primary location.

What kind of boats are available? Small: 15-28 ft - The best thing about these boats is that they are the least expensive ones. They generally have rear and/or front seats, as well as space for sunbathing in the bow. They generally do not have toilets on board. They also have less powerful engines so the cruise speed will be slower. Capacity is typically between 2-8 people. Medium: 30-48 ft - The medium sized boats offer more space and comfort and are suitable for a larger group of people (up to 12). They generally have space below deck including the toilet. With the extra space, you can seat more people and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Amalfi Coast with your companions. Thanks to more powerful motors, they allow a faster cruise speed. They are the most popular choice, which means that they will sell out soon in the season! Large: 50-75 ft - The larger yachts offer more space, comfort, and amenities, making it a more enjoyable and luxurious experience. They also tend to be very powerful allowing the highest cruise speed. If money is not an issue, go with this one, espcecially if you are a party of 10 or more. Extra large: 80+ ft - The extra large yachts are clearly the most expensive ones with prices starting from €10k per day. They are more generally utilized for multi-day private cruises.

How long does a boat tour of the Amalfi Coast last? Boat tours of the Amalfi Coast offer a range of options. A half-day trip usually lasts about 4 hours, while a full-day adventure can run anywhere from 6 to 8 hours. Weekend or week long private boat rentals are available options as well. But the most popular is for sure the full-day trip.

Should I book a half day or full day boat tour if I’m in Naples? If you wish to book a boat tour from Naples to the Amalfi Coast, a full day is necessary. However, if your starting point is Sorrento, Capri, Positano, or one of the smaller cities such as Ravello, Minori or Maiori, a half-day boat tour is an option.

Do I need to book in advance? Absolutely yes. The sooner the better because boats tend to sell out - especially in the summer.

How long does it take to navigate from Naples to Capri with a boat tour? Navigating a boat trip from Naples to Capri generally takes an hour, weather permitting.

amalfi coast boat tour private

How far is Capri/Positano/Amalfi from Naples? Naples is one of the primary arrival destinations for cruise ships so, departing from there varies on which destination at the Amalfi Coast you choose to arrive at. Taking a private boat from Naples to Capri typically requires approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. However, the distance between Sorrento to Capri, Capri to Positano, or Positano to Maiori is much closer, which makes driving from port to port a feasible option.

When is the best time to go to Amalfi Coast? The best time to go to the Amalfi Coast is from May to October because the weather will be wonderful for boat tours, swimming in the sea, exploring the cities like Capri, Sorrento and Positano, and basking under the warm coastal sun. April is possible to visit the Amalfi Coast and also early November, but your options may be limited.

What’s included when booking a boat tour? When it comes to boat rentals, what's included in the package can vary, from the private boat itself to the skipper, fuel, port fees, towels, drinks, food, and even ground transfers - so it's important to clarify what's covered before making a decision.

We are a group of 25 people - what can I do? If you are a large group heading to the Amalfi Coast, it is possible to book a private boat. By law, the maximum is 12 people but we can arrange to find a boat with the appropriate license.

Is a boat tour of the Amalfi Coast suitable for children? A boat cruise of the Amalfi Coast can be a fun and exciting way for families to explore and create unforgettable memories together. However, it's important to keep in mind that you'll be spending a lot of time in the sun - so having a shaded area on the boat can make a big difference in the comfort level for your family. Having space below deck is also very useful as it gives space to rest for children of younger age.

Can I do a sunset tour? Yes! It’s absolutely beautiful!  Seeing the sun setting in the Mediterranean sea while drinking prosecco will probably remain among your most beautiful lifetime memories.  We suggest starting from Sorrento because the Lattari Mountains can obstruct the view if you are departing on the side of Amalfi.  Moreover after the sunset tour, the boat can drop you off at one of the lovely restaurants on the coast for an unforgettable candle light dinner on the sea.

Can the boat tour stop for swimming in the Amalfi Coast? Of course! There are spots and beaches along the coastline where the boat stop for you to enjoy swimming in the crystal clear waters of the Amalfi Coast.

Do the boats have toilets onboard? Generally yes. From the medium range and up, they always have toilets. For the smaller versions it’s better to ask ahead of time.

Do I bring my own food/drink on the boat tour? Sometimes the drinks are offered/included but it’s always best to double-check first.

Hotel La Palma Arrow

Once the epitome of la dolce vita , Capri is dangerously close to becoming fully eroded by day trippers on Grand Selfie tours. Luckily, Hotel La Palma—an Oetker Collection–helmed revival of the island’s first hotel, built in 1822—arrived fashionably late to the scene last summer. The property evokes images of Capri’s bygone jet-set glamour: Maltese designer Francis Sultana bypassed those ubiquitous cobalt-and-lemon tiles and “I Heart Capri” T-shirts for a stripped-back neoclassical vision inspired by Villa Lysis and Villa San Michele. Everywhere you look, white linen curtains waft like togas, and mosaic floors beckon guests to truly watch their steps. The color schemes of airy whites and sky blues are reminders of the island’s legendary luxury: the view of the Bay of Naples, as seen from the gods of Emperor Tiberius’s palace. Hotel La Palma boasts those same views, though its position opposite Dolce & Gabbana on Via Vittorio Emanuele is a bit more mortal. The hotel boasts its own patisserie run by pastry master Carmine di Donna, while Gennaro Esposito—famed for his two-Michelin-starred Torre del Saracino in Vico Equense near Sorrento—oversees the new La Bianca roof terrace. But on an island where sun loungers can be booked one year in advance, the hotel’s Da Gioia beach club is the biggest splash. —Stephanie Rafanelli

Palazzo Avino Italy

Palazzo Avino Arrow

In any other setting, it would be impossible to miss the lashings of marble, vaulted hallways, and antique busts, yet all eyes point in one direction: to the horizon. Palazzo Avino, first built as a private home in the 12th century, has a fairy-tale vista across the Monte Avvocata valley and the yacht-speckled Bay of Salerno. Known as the “pink palace of Ravello,” it is run by sisters Mariella and Attilia Avino, who have infused the place with buckets of personality and style—right down to the hand-painted tableware designed by Mariella and the Mar-a-viglia white wine from their vineyard, La Cascinetta, served at the glam Lobster & Martini Bar. The decor is Poseidon’s palace by way of Moda Operandi, with pink shell tiles, glossy sea foam blue bathrooms, and chic scalloped headboards. Palazzo Avino doesn’t do straight lines: Doorways are arched, ceilings domed, mirrors wavy, all mimicking the raggedly vertiginous coastline. Baroque terraces bursting with bubblegum-pink dipladenias lead down to the pool, where candy-striped parasols shade Dolce sliders, and homemade Sorrento lemonade arrives in colorful Marino glassware. The hotel’s beach club, 20 minutes away, is a sprawling cliffside hangout, taken over by Valentino in 2023, complete with red loungers and retro changing booths. The main restaurant, Michelin-starred Rossellini’s, is one of the most spectacular dining rooms on the Amalfi Coast , where waistcoated waiters serve plates of lemon ravioli by candlelight, and all is well with the world. — Charlotte Davey

Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria Italy

Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria Arrow

Three connected Victorian buildings above the Gulf of Naples, this 1834 family-owned property is lovely to return to after a day of sightseeing—to sit on the clifftop terrace and watch the lights come on over the bay. Rooms are designed in styles ranging from Pompeian to Victorian, with trompe l’oeil walls and parquet floors—not to mention verandas with views of Mount Vesuvius. Terrazza Bosquet serves gourmet dishes using ingredients from the hotel garden, but guests can always sip an elevated cocktail on Bar Vittoria’s terrace, overlooking the water. Or head to the Boutique Spa La Serra for a scrub or signature massage.

Le Sirenuse Positano Italy

Le Sirenuse Arrow

A legend even along a coast full of legends, this classic hotel is more than the sum of its parts. The center was the aristocratic Sersale family’s summer villa in Positano. Four siblings opened the house to guests in 1951 with eight rooms and a large terrace facing the sea. Franco Sersale was responsible for a major expansion and refurbishment in the 1990s; he was not only a passionate art collector but also an inveterate world traveler and photographer . Present owners Antonio and Carla Sersale are also collectors, and each year invite an artist to make a site-specific piece, including Martin Creed, Stanley Whitney, and Matt Connors. Most bedrooms are not huge, but are lovely, with traditional tiled floors, antique chests, and balconies with tables and chairs overlooking the steep climb through the village down to the beach. La Sponda, the hotel's main restaurant, with its 400 candles and bougainvillea-strewn dining room, is one of the coast’s top dinner spots, as much for the atmosphere as for food. — Nicky Swallow

Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel Arrow

A stay at this five-star hotel perched on a cliff’s edge on the Amalfi Coast may feel like a religious experience—and with very good reason. The property occupies a monastery with parts that date back to 1212, and it was home to the Capuchin monks from 1583 to 1826, before the complex was converted into a hotel. During those early days, it was a favorite stop for globetrotting travelers on their Grand Tour of Europe, and over the years, it has housed the likes of Victor Hugo, Elizabeth Taylor, and Greta Garbo. Don’t expect monastic simplicity, though guest rooms do intentionally skew toward the comfortable and unfussy, with white linens and terra-cotta tiles. Chef Claudio Lanuto’s Dei Cappuccini Restaurant serves playfully reimagined Mediterranean dishes with equally sumptuous views out over the coastline, while the poolside La Locanda is the place to be for lunch in the sun. For an even more special event, the hotel is still home to a 13th-century cloister and a Catholic consecrated church—the perfect spot for a destination wedding with up to 70 of your closest friends and family members.

Belmond Hotel Caruso

Caruso, A Belmond Hotel, Amalfi Coast Arrow

People talk about old classics, but this one has roots dating back to the 11th century. Shipwrecked en route to Constantinople, a wealthy Italian family built the foundations of the Caruso on a limestone bluff above Ravello, a symbol of their power and good fortune to have escaped unharmed. And here, their high eyrie remained, withstanding the wars of the Middle Ages, neglected, repaired, neglected again, until 1893 when Pantaleone Caruso stepped in and turned it into a hotel. Belmond (then Orient-Express hotels) took over in 2000 and began a serious restoration: Art historians were shipped in to unearth the building’s Arcadian frescos, and archaeologists arrived to uncover the original medieval foundations. Today, Old Masters hang in the marble corridors and the 50 bedrooms have been brought up-to-date, but not charm-crushingly modernized. They retain their original vaulted ceilings, stone fireplaces, and terra-cotta tiles, and have bathrooms stashed with bottles of Penhaligon’s . It has just opened Villa Margherita too, a two-bedroom retreat deep in the heady gardens. Guests feast on lunches of lobster, langoustine, and truffles, or head down to the water to explore the craggy coastline on the hotel’s pretty wooden boat. It’s a place synonymous with seclusion, with its lemon-scented air and hanging gardens spilling down onto the Tyrrhenian Sea, stony nooks, and quiet spots to sit and take in the dizzying views. And romance: It is said to be where Jackie Kennedy and Gianni Agnelli began their affair, where Humphrey Bogart, Greta Garbo, and Virginia Woolf came to hide out. A truly brightening, timeless place. — Martha Ward

Borgo Santandrea Arrow

If you wanted to land the most plum address on the Amalfi , this would be it—perched high in the cliffs, built into the rock face overlooking the sea, and within view of the sweet fishing village of Conca dei Marini. The property's original 1960s bones have been enhanced by a magical crew of local Amalfitano artisans, with details like landscaped gardens and museum-worthy vintage pieces making it one of the most exciting Italian arrivals in years. All rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows and sea views, but ask for an infinity-pool option if you don’t want to have to go to the private beach or communal pool to cool off. —Ondine Cohane

Monastero Santa Rosa Hotel Spa

Monastero Santa Rosa Hotel & Spa Arrow

We all dream of a romantic, seaside Italian getaway and this one just might be it. The hotel occupies a restored 17th-century monastery just three miles from Amalfi. With 20 rooms, terraced gardens, clifftop Mediterranean views, and a pool that seems to float over the sea, you'll find yourself right at that point of enjoying the seclusion without feeling isolated. Stroll the four levels of terraced gardens, and don't miss the spa, which includes sauna and steam rooms, a hydro pool, and tepidarium. You can enjoy a martini with a side of chess at the library and bar before dining on local Campanian specialties at Il Refettorio, the Michelin-starred restaurant, where the charming servers are straight out of central casting. They still make sfogliatelle (sweet, shell-shaped, filled pastries) according to the nuns’ original recipe—a treat to savor with the sweet life on offer here. — Julia Buckley

Il San Pietro di Positano Italy

Il San Pietro di Positano Arrow

A tribute to the vision and folly of its creator, Il San Pietro di Positano burrows into a cliff, with an elevator plunging down to the beach via a shaft hacked out of rock. It’s the ultimate Amalfi Coast cocoon, made all the more attractive by delicious but not overly fancy seasonal food. It’s no mystery why the international glitterati have flocked here since the hotel's opening, in 1970—the village’s steep, narrow stone streets and breathtakingly beautiful blue waters really are the stuff of dreams (ours, anyway). The 56-room property, which sits on a sliver of prime cliff side real estate above the Bay of Positano, is a primitive Eden doused in fragrant flora and citrus trees. Exquisitely tiled rooms with bright linen accents and wide windows have perfect sea views, and quirky features like lamps with fanciful centaur designs and gilded coffee tables add a little bit of luxe. Some even have a private elevator and a hot tub room. Ease into your day with a plate of succulent strawberries and a thimble of espresso, then take an elevator down to a private beach—or enlist a complimentary boat ride around the bay. Dinner at the Michelin-starred Zass is a strawberry crème-colored vision, and twice as delicious—Mediterranean specialties like lobster tagliatelle and truffle sauce-coated sea bass are served on pink tables, on a rock ledge high above the breaking waves. — Betsy Blumenthal

Hotel Eden Roc Positano

Hotel Eden Roc Positano Arrow

Despite the prestigious name and desirable location near the center of Positano, Hotel Eden Roc is intimate, charming, and warm. It is the project of the Casola family, who take care of guests as if they were friends. Or as they put it, they create an atmosphere that will make you feel like the main actor of your Italian movie. There are 25 rooms and suites in the main building, three “annex suites” out front, plus three apartments and two lavish villas beyond the grounds. Everything has been recently renovated in a way that combines the traditional with the contemporary style, and all the rooms are full of light with views of the sea. — Julia Buckley

Casa Angelina

Casa Angelina Arrow

Unlike the grande dames of the Amalfi Coast , Angelina is sleek, modern, and a startling, almost Greek-style interloper to the cliffside above pretty Praiano. All 42 rooms are white-on-white, accented by views of the bright blue sea below from their private terraces; if you want to be more at one with nature, go for the Eaudesea Experience rooms—whitewashed old fishermen’s cottages, etched into the cliffside above La Gavitella beach, below the hotel (be warned, though—there are 200 steps plus an elevator up to the main building). Down on said beach is a club for all hotel guests; if you can’t face the climb, there are indoor and outdoor pools on the main property. The house boat, meanwhile, will swivel you around the coast, and even over to Capri. Back on site, Un Piano nel Cielo (A Floor in the Sky) takes just-netted fish to new heights (literally—it’s the rooftop restaurant), while Seascape Cocktail Bar, cantilevered over the bay, does a fine line in limoncello-infused mojitos. Note that children under 12 are not permitted. — Julia Buckley

Hotel Villa Cimbrone Arrow

Surrounded by the most splendid gardens on the Amalfi Coast , this historic Ravello property can trace its origins back to the 11th century. The villa was largely rebuilt in the early 1900s by Lord Grimthorpe (an English co-designer of Big Ben), and it soon attracted the likes of Virginia Woolf, Greta Garbo, and E.M. Forster. The sumptuously decorated suites include vaulted ceilings, Majolica tile floors, and cheerful frescoes. Michelin-starred restaurant Il Flauto di Pan serves elegant twists on homestyle local dishes, such as white rabbit ragù and marinated Cetara anchovies. But the villa’s simplest delight is also its most spectacular: Gore Vidal once said that the view from the garden’s belvedere was the most beautiful place in the world.

Villa Bossa Amalfi Arrow

As soon as you enter the gates of Villa Bossa there's a whimsical, cool essence that defines the property. The sleek aesthetic and playful beanbag-like lounge chairs decorating all corners of the property make clear you've stepped into a world that's difficult to find along the Amalfi Coast. Gone is the lemon aesthetic and potted ceramics; instead you’ll find gravel floors, looming candelabras as tall as a teen, and a mini pool smack dab in the middle of the lobby (complete with a Champagne cooler begging to be used). There are only six rooms, but you can’t go wrong with any of them. Leaning into a mostly white aesthetic with small pops of color, each room has sea views. Strategic perk: You can choose your exact room when booking online, so be sure to research your options beforehand. There is no standalone restaurant or bar on the property, which may be a tough pill to swallow for some travelers, but there is a complimentary locally-sourced breakfast (pastries, made-to-order eggs, and fresh fruit) provided to all guests each morning. — Lara Kramer

Casa Privata Arrow

Sailing along the Amalfi Coast a decade ago, the Hareiter family happened upon an old fisherman’s ruin built of stone in the antique Amalfitana style between Positano and Amalfi. The family has since transformed this vision into their dream house, Ca’ P’a, or Casa Privata, a refreshing inn of four rooms and two suites saturated with Mediterranean charm and contemporary good taste. Each spacious bedroom has a 14-foot domed ceiling, originally designed for efficient ventilation, and a glorious view of the sea. Rooms are comfortable but simple, retaining the character of the original with natural colors and sandstone floors softened by graceful drapes and lots of pillows. The lack of air-conditioning was a conscious decision to preserve the sea breeze solution of outdoor living. As in any private home, both the bar and the kitchen are freely available to guests for self-service snacks and drinks. To be sure, the climb to restaurants on the Amalfi Coast road and the less daunting steps up from the sea are not everyone’s idea of convenience, but the location and the size of Ca’ P’a ensure relaxing serenity and impunity from the chaos of summer crowds and traffic on this gorgeous and very popular coastline.

Amadeus Description

Built by the famous Dynamique Yachts shipyard, and having undergone a total refit in 2018, S/Y Amadeus was designed to please the most demanding of yachtsmen. Built for smooth sailing, this elegant cutter rigged sloop has a sleek hull design, comfortably reaching top speeds of 12 knots and ensuring excellent sailing performance. S/Y Amadeus has just undergone this past winter (2018) a major refit such as total repaint top to bottom, new rigging (BSI Denmark), Novourania with new Evinrude 75hp outboard, Splash pool, new Bimini/Sprayhood/Awnings, new exterior fabrics and many other enhancements. In 2016 new “North Sails” were placed onboard. The yacht is maintained in excellent condition with a five-star crew year round. Her generous uncluttered teak deck offers plenty of space for sunbathing. The spacious and unique outdoor saloon has two tables seating upto 12 guests and is a perfect setting for outdoor dining and entertainment. Thanks to a special canopy and roll-up windows, the deck saloon has the added attraction that it can be fully enclosed, making it ideal for all weather conditions. Her forward area includes a splash pool and sun bathing area which can also be shaded with a removable awning. From the cockpit, a stairway leads to the light-filled spacious saloon offering ample seating, ideal for relaxing or enjoying a drink from the bar, and offers a formal dining area. This area also includes a LCD TV, entertainment center, ipod dock station, playstation, and is ideal for indoor activities. She can accommodate 10-12 guests in one full width master stateroom, two double bedded cabins each having one extra single bed and two twin bedded cabins which can be easily converted to double beds (upon request), thus, making her the only 5 double bedded sailboat in the Greek market. She also has a nice selection of toys which include water ski (adult and children), tubes, inflatable canoes, wakeboard, fishing rod and snorkeling gear.
