Responsibilities*

Manages competitive bid process for major contracts, negotiates contracts including legal terms, approves invoices and works to solve invoicing issues when appropriate, acts as a liaison between University departments and vendors, identifies potential cost savings opportunities and identifies potential new vendors.  Intermediate Procurement Agents will possess the ability compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their job responsibilities.  Primary activities and decision-making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. 

Required Qualifications*

BA/BS Degree and 2 to 3 years professional experience in a procurement agent or contract administration role or other supply chain related role.

Desired Qualifications*

2 to 3 years of healthcare procurement/contracting experience. Experience negotiating contracts including legal terms and conditions.

Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 3:00pm

The search is on for Aussies to take on the world's best job

The search for the perfect wave at hallowed breaks is the lifeblood of Aussie surfing culture. Now young grommets have an opportunity to be paid to do it. 

Australian surfing magazine Tracks is offering Gen Zs a part-time job to feature on a reality TV show and surf the nation's best breaks for $50,000 a year.

Three Aussies aged 18-25 will feature on the show and travel across the nation living on a converted bus to promote Australia as a 'tourist surfing mecca'.

Successful candidates will join the Wanderlust crew when shooting starts in September.

The show is part of Tracks' expansion to video production, having started as a magazine in 1970 and played a hand in moulding Australia's rich surfing culture.

The program will share the same counterculture dream the magazine has perpetuated for decades.

'We’ll foot the bill for pretty much everything as you travel up and down the coast attending major surfing events and music festivals, eat and drink at the best pubs and great local restaurants and capture everything in between,' according to Tracks editor-in-chief Luke Kennedy.

Gen Zs are questioning their place in society and searching for a way out of the typical 9-5 work grind, according publisher Peter Strain.

'Questioning societal norms is as relevant today for Gen Z youth as it was for surfers living on the fringes of society back in October 1970 when Tracks first appeared in newsagents,' Mr Strain said

'That's our magazine's DNA.

'The Vietnam War polarised society and dropping out of society and surfing was seen as the ultimate ‘F You’ to mainstream Australia. 

'Today, kids don’t want to listen to boomer bosses telling them how to live their lives – they want to surf, and our new moving pictures platform and the content filmed on the Tracks Wanderlust Bus will show exactly that.'

Tracks is the world’s most prolifically published surf magazine and Australia’s second-longest published magazine behind Australian Women’s Weekly. 

Aussie surfing icon and Tracks ambassador Wayne ‘Rabbit’ Bartholomew said the opportunity was akin to landing on the cover of the illustrious magazine.

'Landing a Tracks cover was the ultimate dream for any pro surfer, so I’m excited three young grommets will have the chance to experience that same feeling with the reinvigoration of the magazine,' he said. 

Two 21-year-olds from Bondi, where Tracks is based, have already thrown their hat into the ring for the opportunity to join the show.

Bronte Gooch, who teaches amateurs to surf at Bondi Beach, said she would relish the chance to do what she loves for a living. 

'This incredible opportunity to travel around Australia, surf the best waves, and share my journey on social media and a reality TV show would be sick,' Ms Gooch said.

'Not only will I get to explore hidden gems and surf spots, but I also hope to inspire more people to fall in love with surfing.

'The chance to live freely, document everything, and promote Australia's amazing surf culture would be super cool.'

Musician Ethan Eshuys was also elated to have a fighting chance at the job to possibly combine his 'two biggest passions'.

'Surfing by day and playing gigs at local pubs by night is a killer combo,' he said.

'This job would let me connect with fellow surfers, enjoy the best waves, and further my music career by hitting up new venues. 

'Plus, promoting Australia as a top surfing destination on a reality TV show is an awesome bonus!'

The pair will face stiff competition for the gig though with a swarm of Gen Zs already putting their hand up to start filming in September.

Tracks will judge how good a candidate is in front of a camera and their proficiency with social media, but is open to all levels of surfers - even amateurs. 

The reality show is set to spark a revolution for Tracks as they look to branch into video production.

Award-winning producer and Perpetual Entertainment chief executive Greg Quail has joined forces with the magazine to create an in-house production studio.

The studio will help generate content for Tracks to fill out a dedicated 24-7 streaming channel.

It will be available on all devices and feature 'non-stop surf, skate, music and lifestyle ... all for free,' Mr Quail said.

The company will also give fans the chance to become investors in Tracks Media 'for as little as $250' through a crowdfunding raise to help fund the brand’s expansion.
