Bow Wow’s Scream Tour ’23 To Introduce Next Generation Of Stars: ‘My Youngins Is Ready’

Bow Wow’s Scream Tour ’23 To Introduce Next Generation Of Stars: ‘My Youngins Is Ready’

Bow Wow has announced that he’s hosting a brand new tour that will introduce fans to the next generation of superstars.

Taking to Instagram on Friday (July 21), the rapper-turned-actor revealed that he’s heading up another installment of the Scream tours in the early 2000s that included performances from B2K, Chris Brown and Bow Wow himself.

“That was then This is NOW! Its time to SCRRRRREAAAAM,” he captioned the tour’s video announcement. “Them kids been getting on yalls nerves all summer its only one place to bring them so they can be as wild as they want! SCREAM TOUR 23 “NEXT UP” We baaaaack !!

“GET YOUR TICKETS 🎫 MY YOUNGINS IS READY TO SHOW OUT!!! @thatgirllaylay @officialyoungdylan and more…… oh yeah IM HOSTING ! It’s only right!”

Artists scheduled to perform on the tour include That Girl Lay Lay, Young Dylan, Wanmor, Papa Jay and more, according to a follow-up Instagram post .

Check out Bow Wow’s announcement below:

Last month, the BET Awards 2023 took place in Los Angeles, hosting some of the culture’s biggest names at the Microsoft Theatre. During the event, radio host and podcaster Bryhana Monegain asked Bow Wow about Hip Hop’s absence on the Billboard 200 and the Hot 100 charts this year, and his response caught many off guard .

“‘Cause n-ggas puttin’ out trash ass music,” he said. “Everything sound alike, everything repetitive, same tempo … everybody could do that, you know what I’m saying?”

Bow Wow ‘Thankful’ He Didn’t Have Access To His Earnings As A Kid

He continued: “You really gotta have talent, you really gotta go. I think people are startin’ to get tired of it now, that’s why you don’t see nothin’ chartin.’”

By June last year, six different rappers had already landed a No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart. On the Hot 100, two Hip Hop tracks had secured a spot at the top by this same time. Whereas, Lil Uzi Vert just became the first Hip Hop artist this year to bag a No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with their recent Pink Tape LP.

Despite his comments, Bow Wow still managed to take home a Billboard award for himself earlier this month, which he shared on Instagram .

“Wanted to share this moment with all my fans! This is you guys’s just as much as it is mine!” he wrote in the caption. “This makes a me a 2x Billboard Award Winner!!! Just when i thought i’d never tour again or even sell out another arena @managerandy told me dont even worry ima have you back in these arenas in time. It wasn’t over night either but i had patience and now look! Thanks brother! We just getting started!

They are IT!”

“Supporting and cultivating true R&B talent is why I started Beautiful Life Productions, and I couldn’t be more proud to do this with these young men.” she added.

The millennial Scream Tour franchise is being reimagined for 2023, but with young, burgeoning artists of today. Presented by R&B group WanMor — sons of Boyz II Men’s Wanyá Morris — the quartet is bringing some of Gen Z’s favorite artists to the stage this August.

The tour, powered by Black Promoters Collective, is set to kick off August 18 in Charlotte before concluding in New Orleans. Other major stops include Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, New York, St. Louis, Miami, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Dallas and Houston.

Check out the bill below:

Scream Tour’ 23 Next Up will give fans of WanMor a chance to see the group’s skills live , as well as recruit newer fans who are curious about the next wave in R&B. The tour, similar to the “ Scream Tours ” of the early 2000’s that included B2K, Chris Brown, Bow Wow and more, will give a modern feel to the golden nostalgia that many 30-somethings of today remember.

The brothers, who all have the same government, but different nicknames include: Wanyá Morris II, III, IV and V, a.k.a Big Boy, 18, Chulo, 17, Tyvas, 16, and Rocco, 12. The group is the first act signed to Mary J. Blige’s 300 Ent. imprint, Beautiful Life Productions, and recently earned a nod at the 2023 BET Awards for Best Group.

WanMor Is The New Wave, Not A Second Coming

“There’s been so much conversation about the state of R&B, and the next generation of R&B artists. This generation has been giving us great R&B, and that feeling, that soul and that sound remains in our DNA,” Blige expressed in a statement upon signing the boys. “When we heard WanMor sing, we knew we could stop looking. They are IT! Supporting and cultivating true R&B talent is why I started Beautiful Life Productions, and I couldn’t be more proud to do this with these young men.”

My kids really enjoy it we will be going again love it love it

That Girl Kennedy Was Satisfied

The concert was very kid friendly. The DJ played tasteful music and the atmosphere was lit as the kids say! My daughter, Kennedy is very shy but she was up dancing and singing so this mama bear was happy to see it. The local performers did a wonderful job and I love that for them that were given the opportunity. That Girl Lay Lay’s performance was short and sweet. Timing was perfect for me to enjoy the rest of my Sunday evening!!

We had a blast! Can’t wait to see you in Boston!😍

My daughter's first concert.

Concert was outstanding, venue can stand some improvement.

When you have a concert and people pay EXTRA for front row seats, it’s the security responsibility to make sure that no one rushes to the front and if they do, please escort them back to their seats. I paid for seats section A row A seat 130/131. The whole time I was HOLLARING at kids and some parents to go back to their seats! The security was just looking CRAZY! I paid too much money to have to keep hollering back and forth!!!!

The show was lame. …I don’t appreciate the fact that I spent $400 for my family to see That Girl Lay Lay and we only saw her for approximately 27 minutes. That was a rip off and I don’t like it. My daughters were disappointed and so was I. Although I didn’t care to see her cause I was only there for my kids but that was the absolute worse. Everyone involved ought to be ashame. Period

My Daughter LOVED it

It was my daughter first concert because I know she loves Lay Lay and on the way home she said best concert ever….Ill never forget it

We enjoyed ourselves

They are still using her old pictures for advertisement so if you not too familiar with her you would’ve thought she was like 10-13 to find out that she was 16 made all the sense in the world why she didn’t come out like a lil girl there was so many babies there who probably thought they was go see a lil girl too and got big lay lay instead with grown dance moves and lyrics. No food just liquor and popcorn. it was my babies first concert ever and her birthday and she was just so excited to be there and got to get on stage and dance we had a good time so a/o to the host and DJ

That Girl Lay-Lay

The concert was age appropriate. I enjoyed that they included the parents into the mix, but I would’ve done a mix with the music while we waited. Being that I’m AA, and there were some Caucasian kids who were there with their parents, I would’ve played some songs that are trending that would’ve been appreciated by them as well, not just the rap songs the DJ played. No frills or thrills, Inthink she could’ve had some girly cute props to make it more engaging and colorful! But, overall my 3 grandAngels enjoyed themselves.

She did great !!

Waited an hour for her to come out for a 30 minute performance and a 2 hour drive back home.

‘Run don’t walk’ scream Swifties as hidden gem Glasgow shop launches boots perfect for Eras Tour

  • Zoe Phillips , Live News Reporter

SWIFTIES are going wild for custom-made cowboy boots perfect for the upcoming Eras Tour.

The superstar, 34, is set to play three sold-out shows at Edinburgh's Murrayfield on June 7, 8 and 9.

Swifties flocked to social media to rave over the custom-painted designs

Cow People, traders at Glasgow's iconic Barras Market in the east end, are selling a range of custom-painted boots inspired by Taylor Swift's albums.

Fans have urged others to "run don't walk" to pick up the stunning designs, which can be snapped up for £189 with a £60 deposit.

Swifties can choose to have their favourite album illustrated on the boots, with 1989, Lover and Reputation available to choose from.

Another pair features the song Cowboy Like Me, from the hit 2020 album Evermore.

Cow People wrote on Instagram : "Thank you Swifties for your amazing support this week.

"We've been custom-painting these Eras Tour style boots for months, in preparation for the upcoming European dates and can't wait to see you all in them".

The boots, which are available in UK sizes 3-8, must be picked up in person at the Barras Market in Glasgow.

Fans flocked to social media to rave over the intricate designs - with many planning a trip to the market.

Another gushed: "Glasgow Swifties, run don't walk to the Barras to get your custom boots for the Edinburgh dates.

"Had the loveliest experience trying them on also."

A third added: "The dream!"

The hotly anticipated shows are set to be Scotland's biggest selling stadium gigs with tickets selling out in a matter of minutes.

Some Swifties are speculating the singer-songwriter could be extending the already huge three-and-a-half hour set to include tracks from her new album, The Tortured Poets Department.

The surprise double record with 31 new songs dropped last month and is Swift's eleventh studio album.

It comes as Swift fans face their own Cruel Summer as tickets for her shows soar to nearly £8,000.

Columbia prez minouche shafik says pro-terror protesters ousted from hamilton hall during nypd raid ‘crossed a new line’.

Columbia University president Minouche Shafik said the pro-terror mob that illegally occupied historic Hamilton Hall — and were ousted after NYPD cops stormed the building — “crossed a new line.”

Shafik said the chaotic events of the past two weeks — which saw an anti-Israel encampment overtake the Ivy League school’s stately Morningside Heights campus —  as “among the most difficult in Columbia’s history,” following the dramatic removal of the occupiers and the tent city.

“The turmoil and tension, division and disruption have impacted the entire community,” she said in a video address posted on Friday evening. “You are students who paid an exceptionally high price.

Columbia president Minouche Shafik made her first public remarks since the NYPD raided encampments at the Ivy League school.

“You lost your final days in the classroom and residence halls. For those of you who are seniors, you’re finishing the way you started: online,” she told Columbia students.

The president said that the school administration tried “very hard to solve the issue of encampment through dialogue,” but the protesters, whom she noted were largely peaceful, declined the school’s offer.

The students had demanded that Columbia divest its finances from companies associated with Israel in response to Israel’s ongoing war in Gaza.

New York City police officers use a ramp on an armored vehicle to enter Hamilton Hall at Columbia University.

“Academic leaders talked with students for eight days and nights,” she said. “The university made a sincere and good offer but it was not accepted.”

The protesters “crossed a new line” when they broke into and occupied the university’s iconic Hamilton Hall, Shafik said.

“It was a violent act that put our students at risk as well as putting the protesters at risk,” she said, adding that she had a firsthand look at the “distressing” damages to the building.

Shafik touched a positive note, however, saying she believes that civil discourse can return and they can “rebuild community” on campus with ample work and understanding from both sides.

Antisemitism controversy at Columbia University: Key events

  • More than 280 anti-Israel demonstrators were cuffed at Columbia and the City of New York campuses overnight in a “massive” NYPD operation.
  • One hundred and nine people were nabbed at the Ivy League campus after cops responded to Columbia’s request to help oust a destructive mob that had  illegally taken over the Hamilton Hall academic building  late Tuesday, NYC Mayor Eric Adams and police said.
  • Hizzoner blamed the on-campus chaos on insurgents who have a “history of escalating situations and trying to create chaos” instead of protesting peacefully.
  • Columbia’s embattled president Minouche Shafik, who has faced mounting calls to resign for not cracking down sooner, issued a statement Wednesday saying the on-campus violence had “pushed the university to the brink.”
  • Columbia University president Minouche Shafik  was accused of “gross negligence” while testifying before Congress. Shafik refused to say if the phrase “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” is antisemitic.
  • More than 100 Columbia professors signed a letter defending students who support the “military action” by Hamas.
  • Not affiliated with school: 13
  • Students at affiliated institutions: 6
  • Undergrad students: 14
  • Grad students: 9
  • Columbia employees: 2

“The issues that are challenging us  — the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, anti-Semitism, and anti-Arab and anti-Muslim bias  — have existed for a long time,” she said.

“And Columbia, despite being a remarkable institution, cannot solve them singlehandedly. What we can do is be an exemplar of a better world, where people who disagree do so civilly, recognize each other’s humanity and show empathy and compassion for one another,” Shafik concluded.

Her address came the day after a Columbia faculty association called for a vote of no confidence for Shafik and other top administrators following the Tuesday raid on Hamilton Hall — while angered students took the traditional “primal scream” to the embattled prez’s doorstep.

The school’s chapter of the American Association of University Professors called for the damning vote on Shafik, the co-chairs of Board of Trustees and Chief Operating Officer Cas Holloway in a scathing statement released Thursday .

NYPD officers in riot gear enter Columbia University's encampment as they evict a building that had been barricaded.

The faculty group condemned the NYPD’s arrival at Hamilton Hall on Tuesday as a “horrific police attack” and slammed the ongoing “militarized lockdown” of the Morningside Heights campus.

The association attributed Tuesday’s chaos to “shocking failures of decision-making and judgment” over the controversy created by the Oct. 7 Hamas attack and subsequent war in the Gaza Strip.

The Shafik administration had now violated student and faculty trust to such a degree that a vote of no confidence would be the “only way” to rebuild the university, the letter insisted.

Shortly before midnight on Thursday, a large group of Columbia students gathered outside Shafik’s official residence for the “primal scream.”

The biannual campus tradition – during which students all yell loudly together to express their end-of-semester stresses – normally takes place in front of Butler Library, which is still inaccessible to students while the campus remains closed off, the Columbia Daily Spectator reported .

After screaming for about a minute and a half, the group of about 100 students issued calls of “resign” and “disclose, divest, we will not stop, we will not rest,” the campus paper reported.

Over two dozen NYPD officers watched over the demonstration, which earned additional taunt of “Oink oink piggy piggy, we will make your lives s–tty,” the Spectator added.

After the NYPD swept Hamilton Hall, finals for Columbia students were postponed and moved online.

About 200 protesters have been arrested on the campus since mid-April, when the tent encampment demonstration first emerged on one of the main lawns.

In a letter on Tuesday, Shafik requested NYPD presence on the campus through at least May 17, the Spectator reported.
