If that isn't enough, 1.4 added the Seeds feature where you can play worlds that other people play or worlds that are entirely crazy. Top 10 Terraria Seeds

Best Seeds in Terraria

There is no game perhaps as timeless as Terraria. While it involves mining and crafting, it is without a doubt unique in many ways. From its Lovecraftian lore to its slimes dressed as bunnies, Terraria will stand out from the rest of the sandbox genre and have us hooked forever. With the recent release of Terraria 1.4.4, also known as the Labor of Love update, even more content has been added to keep players interested. As an ode to all of the new features and our adoration for the old ones, we have compiled a list of what we feel are the best seeds in Terraria .

Here are our favourite seeds in Terraria, with everything from the familiar to the newly introduced. Remember, every seed input is case sensitive!

journey mode seeds

The Zenith or “Everything” seed is for players looking for a new challenge. It combines other world seeds such as the No traps, Not the bees, Drunk, Celebration, Constant, Remix, and For the Worthy seeds. It is quite difficult for a world seed due to this fact, since players will have a variety of obstacles to overcome thrown at them. If you feel like you want to suffer through a new boss, Mechdusa comes with this seed as well. Get ready to juggle both hunger and darkness damage on top of the new game mode the seed introduces. Yeah, this isn’t Expert or even Master. The Zenith seeds throws you into the brand-new Legendary mode. Sounds fun, right?

To access the Zenith seed, simply input one of these two lines into the seed prompt: get fixed boi or getfixedboi .

For the Worthy

journey mode seeds

This world seed works by increasing the difficulty of Terraria by… well, a lot. Every enemy has a higher health and players will find themselves taking more damage. Instead of seeing only the normal, cute bunnies, players will encounter EXPLOSIVE bunnies. Demons are no longer normal, but now Voodoo Demons. The first NPC to be encountered is no longer the Guide, but rather the Demolitionist. Other changes include lava pools instead of water and pots dropping lit bombs. Do you think yourself worthy enough to try this seed out?

To access the For the Worthy seed, simply input this line into the seed prompt: for the worthy .

Not the Bees

journey mode seeds

Ever wonder what a world in Terraria would look like had it been taken over by bees? Wonder no longer! You can now explore such a bee-dominated world with the Not the Bees seed. Most of your world will be made up of the Jungle biome, polluted by an abundance of Hive and Honey blocks. The starting NPC is no longer the guide, but rather the Merchant. Larvae will be everywhere. If you deem yourself a huge fan of bees, then this world seed is definitely the one for you. Just make sure you have some allergy medicine on hand!

To access the Not the bees seed, simply input one of these two lines into the seed prompt: not the bees or not the bees! .

Drunk World

journey mode seeds

This world seed is known as the Drunk World seed for a good reason. While you are generating, tips are random numbers instead of text. The background is a Glowing Mushroom biome witha backwards moon resembling a smiley face. It is never day time, but always night. When playing in the world, both the Crimson and Corruption will generate and the starting Guide NPC is replaced by the Party Girl. If you are searching for a strange experience while playing Terraria, the Drunk world seed will have you sorted.

To access the Drunk world seed, simply input one of these two lines into the seed prompt: 05162020 or 5162020 .

journey mode seeds

There are items in Terraria that are incredibly desirable and useful. Two of these items happen to be the Ice Skates and the Lava Charm. If you want a seed that has both of them, then this world seed will make you happy. Both appear in the Journey world type while the Lava Charm appears in both Expert and Master as well. The Lava Charm is found at 7841′ West, 2148′ Caverns, and the Ice Skates are at 3600′ West, 256′ Underground. Hop into this seed for the free, quick loot.

To access the seed that gives you quicker access to useful loot, simply input this line into the seed prompt: 970756484 .

Celebrationmk10

journey mode seeds

In honor of Terraria’s 10th birthday, this special world seed was made to celebrate it. Players will spawn on the beach instead of toward the middle of the map. A party commences as soon as the player spawns, with multiple NPCs. There is Andrew the Guide, Whitney the Steampunker, Yorai the Princess, a Party Girl, and an Angora Town Bunny. Most of the world is brightly colored and treasure chests’ items always have the best modifier they could possibly have. Golden Slimes can spawn and there is a new enemy, the Jungle Mimic, if playing on Hardmode. Rare items drop rates are increased, too, and you can buy other special items such as the Slime Staff! It really is party time in this world.

To access the Celebrationmk10 seed, simply input one of these lines into the seed prompt: celebrationmk10 , 05162011 , 5162011 , 05162021 , or 5162021 .

Don’t Starve

journey mode seeds

Are you a fan of the Don’t Starve games? This world seed is perfect for you if so. New mechanics players must deal with such as darkness and hunger are present, meaning that many will struggle to make it past the beginning of the game. There are marble biomes with statues and Spider Caves on the surface. The game itself is affected by a dark shader causing everything to look a bit creepy. More items that were exclusive to the Don’t Starve crossover will drop. Give this world seed a go if you want both Don’t Starve and Terraria at the same time.

To access The Constant seed, simply input one of these lines into the seed prompt: constant , theconstant , the constant , eye4aneye , or eyeforaneye .

Early Dungeon Start

journey mode seeds

Sometimes, it feels a bit frustrating to not immediately have access to the dungeon in Terraria. If you have ever felt this way, then this seed will be perfect for your a new save’s experience. The Big Tree’s roots burst through the dungeon, meaning that you can access it much more quickly than you would usually be able to. No more struggling through killing Skeletron before getting some of your most sought after loot!

To access the seed that gives you quicker access to the dungeon, simply input this line into the seed prompt: 100865193 .

Beginner’s Paradise

journey mode seeds

This seed provides the perfect place for beginners as it has a ton of nice and easily obtainable loot early on in the game. There are also two floating islands directly nearby where the player will spawn. If you are new to Terraria or you want a more relaxing experience, then this might be the perfect seed for you.

To access the seed that gives you an easier start, simply input this line into the seed prompt: 2014307839 .

journey mode seeds

How does spawning in the Underworld sound? Good? Check out the Remix world seed. Players will start in the Underworld where there is an island of Ash with Ash Grass and Trees. No lava or Hellstone. Normal enemies found in the Underworld are instead replaced by surface enemies as long as the player stays on the island. Away from the island, the Underworld is normal. When players build a town on the island, normal Underowlrd critters will spawn on it. Progression is mixed up in other ways too, with some weapons moved around and their rarity rebalanced to match. Immediately above the spawn, players can find a Glowing Mushroom biome. In other words, this seed really changes things around for a refresh yet familiar experience.

To access the Remix seed, simply input one of these lines into the seed prompt: don't dig up , dont dig up , or dontdigup .

Massive Jungle Biome

jungle biome terraria seed

Every now and then Terraria spits out a seed with biomes that are much larger than they normally are. Not only does this seed create a massive jungle biome, it does so right at the spawn point. Even more interesting is that it stretches all the way to the bottom of the map. Since the jungle biome is rather difficult, especially on new playthroughs, this seed is best reserved for experienced players.

Try it out using the seed: 3.4.2.876032723 .

No Traps… Or Are There?

no traps terraria seed

How about something with a bit more zing? If you’re a masochist and a sadist, trick your friends into joining this ‘No Traps’ Terraria seed. Despite the name of the seed, it’s most certainly full of traps . You’ve got boulders coming from the left, boulders from the right, even boulders in the ocean. See that shiny Life Crystal? It’s a trap! Oh, there’s a chest to loot, but wait… yep, that’s a trap, too. Even mining ore can lead to a quick and painful death. Just don’t tell your friends what you’re up to.

Check it out using this seed: notraps or no traps .

The Giving Tree

the giving tree terraria seed

There are some good Terraria seeds that offer a great head start, but this one hits a bit different. As far as terrain goes, it isn’t anything special. However, the moment you boot up the new map, there are free goodies in either direction, especially if you head east. You’ll find a tree housing a bunch of chests to loot.

To start off on the right foot, here’s the seed: 1.4.1.1269588042 .

How Long Can You Hold Your Breath?

underwater caverns terraria seed

Like pyramids, you won’t run into too many ocean caverns in Terraria. When you do, it’s important to explore every block because of Water Chests. The loot you can get from them is really good, like Water Walking Boots. With this seed, there’s a massive ocean cavern, many blocks long, with all sorts of treasure to find. More importantly, there’s an Enchanted Sword Shrine at the end. It makes the entire experience worth the effort!

If you want to get in on this seed, here’s the code: 2201514445423333 .

Early Enchanted Swords and Pyramids

enchanted swords and pyramids terraria seed

Pyramids are pretty hard to come by; in fact, there’s a good chance that every world you generate won’t even have one. That’s a shame, too, given that it houses a great deal of treasure, including the Pharaoh’s Set, Flying Carpet, and decorative banners. I got you covered, though because this seed gives you early access to two pyramids, on in the east and another in the west. if you head west from the spawn. On the surface due east, you’ll also find not one, but three Enchanted Sword Shrines. Nice!

You can explore this map by using this seed: 1211831599 .

A Very Good Seed

A seed map in Terraria.

Very good seed will allow you to get your hands on a Sunflower Minecraft and a Finch Staff. The Sunflower Minecraft is a rare cart, while the Finch Staff allows you to summon a Finch, which can fight for you.

These two items are very useful. Try to obtain them in the early phase of the game since the Finch can allow you to be at a certain distance from your enemies and away from danger.

You can explore this map by using the seed called thisisaverygoodseed .

The Crimson Desert

A seed map in Terraria.

This is an unofficial seed discovered by Fantasybabydino on Reddit . It is very useful for those players who look for Blood Altars. Look for a vast Crimson Desert located to the right of the spawn location.

There are multiple benefits of this seed. First, there are a lot of Blood Altars that are used for summoning the Brain of Cthulhu. Also, this seed is a perfect fit for farming the Crimtane Ore in your search for the Bone Rattle.

You can explore this area by using the following seed: 1.2.2.158411179 .

Those were just a few of the coolest Terraria seeds out there. Be sure to check out some of your favorites from the best seeds in the Terraria list and look through some of our other Terraria content !

Terraria 1.4 Journey’s End Secret Seed World

Image of Cole Andrews

After the Journey’s End update , Terraria players have figured out a secret seed that generates a very strange world. In this world, things aren’t how they normally are in Terraria games. For instance, instead of a Guide at the beginning of the game, there’s a Party Girl. The Terraria soundtrack is also changed to the Otherworld soundtrack. Let’s take a look at Terraria Journey’s End Secret Seed.

Terraria 1.4 Secret Seed World

  • Seed: 05162020

Players figured out that if you enter the seed as the Journey’s End release date, you’ll get an interesting world generation. The seed was actually first seen back in April on Andrew Spinks’ Twitter account.

Terraria: Journey's End will launch on PC May 16, 2020! pic.twitter.com/cf1nGrzrrk — Redigit🌳 (@Demilogic) April 13, 2020

To enter the seed and experience the world, manually enter “05162020” into the seed field when you go to generate your world. It can be on Journey mode if you like.

In this seed, things aren’t how they normally are and you will notice this as the load worlds and you see the numbers. You can also notice the smiley face moon in the background. Players start with a Party Girl instead of a Guide, and there’s a special song. Instead of the Terraria soundtrack, the Otherworld soundtrack plays.

journey mode seeds

This seed also gets you a Crimson/Corruption world, according to Reddit . This means you can encounter both evils of the world with Corruption on the right and Crimson on the left. As you run through the map, you will come to a chest under a huge tree. Inside here, you might find Moon Lord legs. Other chests include Dead Man’s Sweater and Red’s Potions.

journey mode seeds

There are plenty of other things to explore in this Easter Egg world. Here’s a full list of everything we uncovered in the Terraria 1.4 Journey’s End Secret Seed World so far.

  • Loading screen numbers are scrambled into random orders
  • Party girl instead of the guide
  • The soundtrack can be switched at Party Girl
  • Both Crimson and Corruption evils of the world
  • A long tunnel in the left ocean with some chests, with Shark Pup
  • Right beach tunnel leads to the underground dungeon entrance
  • Other dungeon entrance is through the tree nearest to the right beach
  • Floating snowy island to the right side
  • Underworld is an ocean made of lava
  • Exiting the world makes the main menu look scrambled
  • 3 Defense, slightly increased mobility, “These might be Steve’s”

However, players that are looking for a unique world to explore or a particular item may find something that suits their fancy below.

Updated March 31st, 2022 by Russ Boswell: Even through early 2022, Terraria is still one of the most popular Indie releases to ever grace the gaming world. The Minecraft-esque release has been a blast for players and their friends over the years and its nigh-infinite replayability makes it a title that gamers can keep coming back to whenever they feel the itch. Because of this, players are constantly discovering new Terraria Seeds that can be entered to craft specific worlds. To better showcase some of the coolest Terraria 1.4 Seeds that have been discovered over the past year, the following list has been updated to include even more information and locations.

Terraria 1.4: Best Item Seeds

  • Enchanted Sword and Starfury Seed (Seed: 263549977 | Size: Small | Type: Classic | Evil: Crimson)

Players that are trying to craft Zenith can use this best Terraria 1.4 seed to pickup an Enchanted Sword at 3459' West, 10' Surface. This seed also houses a Starfury, which fans can grab by using the Gravitation Potion at 2999' East, 266' Underground to reach 2050' East, 468' Space.

  • Lava Charm and Ice Skates Seed (Seed: 970756484 | Size: Large | Type: Journey | Evil: Crimson)

Two powerful accessories can be found in this good Terraria 1.4 seed, and players should navigate to 7841' West, 2148' Caverns for the Lava Charm and to 3600' West, 256' Underground for the Ice Skates.

  • Pyramid and Sandstorm in a Bottle Seed (Seed: 1211831599 | Size: Medium | Type: Master | Evil: Corruption)

This best Terraria 1.4 seed will help players that want an improved double jump, as a Sandstorm in a Bottle can be found in the pyramid that is buried in the Desert directly to the west of the spawn point.

  • Water Walking Boots Seed (Seed: 23093324 | Size: Small | Type: Classic | Evil: Crimson)

Fans that want to walk on water or are looking to craft a pair of Lava Waders can find Water Walking Boots in this good Terraria 1.4 seed. They are located in a chest at 3946' West, 126' Surface.

Random, Useful, And Odd Terraria Seeds

There are a lot of random seeds that players have stumbled across that include some helpful, harmful, or downright odd generations. Here's a look at some seeds from Terraria 1.4 that feature some unique issues, events, or designs:

  • An Early Walk In The Dungeon (Seed: 100865193)

This particular seed has seen the Big Tree burst its roots through the dungeon, allowing players access to it before having to deal with Skeletron.

  • The Fastest Enchanted Sword (Seed: 1841878846 | Size: Small | Type: Classic | Evil: Corruption)

This seed will allow players to snag an Enchanted Sword almost instantly. By digging straight down from spawn and looking to the left in a pool of water (as soon as a "cave opens up" from digging downward) players can snag the blade.

  • Some Strange Generations (Seed: 5162020 | Size: Small | Type: Classic | Evil: Corruption)

This is definitely one of the weirdest seed generations that players have come across. Not only is this world packed with a lot of useful biomes pretty close to spawn, it also features both a Crimson biome and a Corruption biome. Usually, the game only generates one of these particular places at a time, so finding both packed into one small map is ideal for players that are looking to get their hands on everything they possibly can. Near the Crimson biome (to the East from spawn) there is also a Dungeon that is buried underneath the ground, with the entrance firmly beneath the overworld. Players will need to dig to find the opening to enter the Dungeon itself.

  • Granite Mini-Biome Near The Surface (Seed: 1.1.1.420369751 | Size: Small | Type: Classic | Evil: Crimson)

Terraria has introduced a lot of interesting biomes, enemies, items, and materials over the years. The Granite Mini-biome is one of the most interesting additions, allowing players to get their hands on Granite, giving them access to a new material to build furniture and other things. These biomes also include Granite Elementals and Granite Golems, which both have a small chance to drop Night Vision Helmets. The issue is that, usually, these miniature locations are found deeper underground and can be difficult to find due to their small size. Thankfully, this seed places one almost right next to the spawn. If players travel East from spawn, they'll spot a Marble biome on the surface. Digging straight down from this Marble biome will spit them into a Granite biome, giving them access to both materials.

  • An Easier Muramasa (Seed: 1.1.1.301989527 | Size: Small | Type: Classic | Evil: Crimson)

Players that are looking to build the Night's Edge will need to get their hands on the Muramasa. This particular sword can be difficult to come across and is usually found in locked Golden Chests within the Dungeon of each world. Trying to guess which of these chests has the sword within it can be rough, especially since each one of these chests takes a Golden Key. Thankfully, this seed gives access to a fairly easy-to-find Muramasa. If players head left from the spawn they'll eventually encounter the dungeon entrance. After defeating Skeletron, players can dive into the dungeon and continue exploring the linear path until they spot a painting of a Skull. From there players will want to head right and through a door until they reach a wall. Digging through this wall will put players in a new area with a Golden Chest below them. The Muramasa is located within this chest.

  • A Perfect Place For Beginners (Seed: 2014307839 | Size: Small | Type: Classic | Evil: Crimson)

Those that are just starting their Terraria journey in 1.4 may benefit from this seed. It has a lot of great, easy to get items early on and features two floating islands right by the spawn.

Secret World Seeds

  • Drunk World (Seed: 05162020)

This Terraria 1.4 seed generates a world with many peculiarities, and players that explore it will find that both World Evils are present, that surface Living Trees appear more frequently, and beyond. This seed is also where fans can find Moon Lord Legs, an armor piece that many in the community will definitely want to get their hands on.

  • Not the bees (Seed: Not the bees)

A reference to the 2006 film The Wicker Man , this good Terraria 1.4 seed is all about bees, and players will discover that Stone blocks have been replaced by Hive blocks, Water has been replaced by Honey, and more in this unique world. Fans will also encounter a great deal of Hornets and Larva in this seed, as those can appear in all locations.

  • For the worthy (Seed: for the worthy)

Players that are looking for a challenge should definitely give this best Terraria 1.4 seed a try, as it dramatically raises the difficulty of Re-Logic's popular sandbox game . Massively increased enemy health and damage, water replaced with lava, and exploding bunnies are just a few of the things that fans will encounter in this secret world seed.

  • CelebrationMk10 (Seed: celebrationmk10)

Recently, Terraria celebrated its 10th anniversary. On May 16, 2021 players were greeted to the following seed, which adds a slew of crazy changes to the world . At the start, players will be presented with a party celebrating the 10th birthday of the wildly popular indie release. From there, players can explore to find multi-colored objects, painted locations, a couple of unique enemies, and rare items. The world even doubles the chance that players may find a Developer's Set.

Terraria is out now on PC, PS3, Xbox 360, iOS, PS Vita, PS4, Xbox One, 3DS, and Switch.

Journey Mode

Desktop version

Journey Mode is an option that can be selected upon creation of new characters and worlds . It allows the player a wide array of customization options during gameplay, including duplication of items, modification of time and weather, and difficulty sliders. Journey Mode is only accessible with Journey characters in Journey worlds (Journey worlds can only be accessed using Journey characters, and Journey characters can only play in Journey worlds).

Journey Mode is intended to be Terraria's "creative" or "tourist" mode, making it relatively easy to acquire items and explore Terraria's various elements and mechanics without having to overcome its normal progression of challenges; though Journey players do have the ability to adjust the game's difficulty on-the-fly to challenge themselves and test different difficulty levels.

  • 2.1 Duplication
  • 2.2.1 Complete list
  • 2.4 Weather
  • 2.5 Personal Power Menu
  • 2.6 Infection Spread
  • 2.7 Enemy Difficulty Slider
  • 7 References
  • Characters begin with upgraded versions of the usual equipment, as well as extra equipment not normally given to new characters, including Fledgling Wings .

Iron Shortsword

  • Enemies are half as difficult by default, and their difficulty can be changed during gameplay using the Enemy Difficulty Slider .
  • The player can access the Power Menu , which is used to adjust the game experience.
  • The damage multiplier of town NPCs is 1× when the difficulty is less than Expert, and 2× when no less than Expert, instead of the usual 1× / 1.5× / 1.75× . [1]

Power Menu Toggle.png

The Power Menu can be accessed via the toggle button located under the main inventory slots, above the crafting menu. Its interface replaces the crafting menu when opened.

The Power Menu contains seven different functions: Duplication, Research, Time, Weather, Personal Power Menu, Infection Spread, and Enemy Difficulty.

Duplication

journey mode seeds

This menu allows the player to instantly duplicate any previously researched item indefinitely. The menu has eleven tabs, each for a different item category.

Search icon.png

  • The sounds for researching an item: https://terraria.wiki.gg/wiki/File:Research_1.wav https://terraria.wiki.gg/wiki/File:Research_2.wav https://terraria.wiki.gg/wiki/File:Research_3.wav
  • The sound for fulfilling an item's research counter: https://terraria.wiki.gg/wiki/File:Research_0.wav

The total number of researched items required varies by the item type:

Complete list

There are three options available within the Time Menu:

Power Menu Time Frozen.png

  • Fallen Stars will not fall while time is frozen.

Power Menu Time Dawn.png

  • Alternating between day and night will count as random chances for bosses and events to spawn, if their conditions are met, and will reset the fishing quest as if a day had passed.
  • Some Events can be extended indefinitely by repeatedly setting time back a step or freezing time.

Power Menu Time Speed Slider.png

The Weather Menu grants the player full control over the current weather:

Power Menu Wind Control Slider.png

Personal Power Menu

The Personal Power Menu includes three options related to the player:

Power Menu Godmode.png

  • Debuffs are still inflicted as normal, but the player takes no damage from them.
  • Mana is not actually unlimited; it instead regenerates at a much faster rate than the player can use it, making it seem that it is unlimited.

Power Menu Increased Placement Range.png

Infection Spread

  • It also does not prevent the generation of the diagonal stripes of Hallow and Corruption / Crimson that spawn when the player defeats the Wall of Flesh for the first time.

Enemy Difficulty Slider

A slider that sets difficulty anywhere from 0.5× to 3× the normal difficulty. 0.5× equates to the default Journey Mode difficulty, moving up through Classic Mode at 1×, Expert Mode at 2×, and Master Mode at 3×. Moving the slider enables all rewards obtainable in the chosen difficulty, including Expert-mode exclusive items and Master-mode exclusive items .

  • All achievements can be unlocked in Journey Mode as normal.
  • Icons with texts at the side of sliders are all interactable buttons, which allows the player to snap the slider to specific points.
  • Duplicating items will never produce items with modifiers .
  • Items that show at different times of the year such as Goodie Bags can be researched.
  • This does not affect some items, like converting a Marshmallow on a Stick to a Cooked Marshmallow .
  • When time is frozen, Music Boxes can still record songs.
  • Rain and Wind changes. A world with wind change or rain change disabled will keep that part of its weather frozen as-is forever, allowing for a world with permanent clear skies, rain , Windy Days , or Thunderstorms .
  • Time alterations, including the freezing or acceleration of time. This, however, can make it very difficult to progress in the game normally due to the game's numerous time-based events and bosses.
  • Biome Spread. This can be very useful for those who wish to play in a normal world without the stress of maintaining purity , or to keep an accelerated world from being ravaged by its infectious biomes.
  • Difficulty and spawn rate changes do not persist into normal gameplay, but will be remembered if the world is converted back into Journey Mode.
  • Even with Godmode enabled, weapons that require more mana per shot than the player currently has in total cannot be used. For example, a player with the default amount of 20 mana cannot use the Nebula Arcanum .
  • If the enemy spawn rate is at 0×, the Dungeon Guardian will not spawn.
  • Switching difficulty modes causes enemies and bosses to change their AI and dropped items immediately.
  • The duration of debuffs is unchanged when switching difficulties.
  • Changing to Expert Mode will activate the extra accessory slot enabled by the Demon Heart ; changing to Master Mode will activate Master Mode's extra accessory slot (i.e. the 7th slot after consuming the Demon Heart).
  • While enemy stats at 1×, 2×, or 3× difficulty values are the same as those in their corresponding difficulty, stats between these set values increase linearly, making "low difficulty" stats exceed stats of a higher difficulty. For example, enemy stats at 1.95× and 2.95× difficulty are significantly higher than those at 2× and 3× respectively.
  • An enemy's stats are determined by the difficulty upon spawn, whereas its dropped items are determined by the difficulty upon defeat. This allows obtaining Expert- or Master-exclusive items from e.g. a Journey-level boss , by increasing the difficulty after summoning and before defeating it.
  • While the increased placement range is enabled, the player can hold Torches and use the Smart Cursor mechanic while in a cave to light up many nearby caves surprisingly efficiently.
  • However, note that freezing time when the Traveling Merchant spawns is important due to how fast time will pass, and he might even despawn before the player has a chance to run over.
  • The duplication menu can be used as an extension of the player's inventory, all but eliminating the need to worry about storage space. Any items in the player's inventory can be researched to make room without those items going to waste. If an item is already fully researched, it can simply be trashed and another can be duplicated when needed. Items like weapons and accessories only need one to be fully researched, so unless it has a desired modifier it can be "stored" by researching it and it will always be available.
  • Coins only require 100 to be fully researched regardless of the denomination. This means 1 SC can be turned into unlimited by changing it into 100 , researching those, duplicating stacks of to craft into 100 , and so on until the player has researched 100 PC . But since coins are only duplicated in stacks of 100, 100 stacks of coins need to be pulled out for each step, so it is generally more efficient to duplicate items and sell them for money initially.
  • 10 Life Crystals need to be researched in order to duplicate it, but only 1 Heart Lantern is needed to unlock its duplication.
  • This also applies to the Prismatic Lacewing and the Truffle Worm .
  • Sand Blocks have a research value of 100, but 2 Sand Blocks can be crafted into a block of Glass , and it can then be crafted into a Mug , which only requires 1 to be fully researched.
  • Journey Mode is known as Creative in some places of Terraria's source code, referring to the Creative mode in the 3D sandbox game Minecraft .
  • Journey Mode's descriptive text, "With great power comes great responsibility" , is a quote from the 2002 American superhero movie Spider-Man . Similar words have been used towards government dating back to at least 1793, with perhaps one of the most famous quotes coming from Winston Churchill in 1906, who said, "Where there is great power there is great responsibility."
  • Quest items are the only non-stackable items that require two items to research, while the Marshmallow on a Stick is the only non-stackable item that requires 10 items to research.
  • The Godmode icon is a reference to the classic video game series Doom , which has a similar God Mode icon.
  • The Power Menu toggle button displays a bunny wearing a hard hat, whose name is "Benny the Construction Bunny". [2]
  • Boss fights can be a little harder in 2.95× Expert difficulty than in 3.00× Master difficulty. This could be due to lacking one accessory slot while max life of bosses is usually 15.7% higher. Enemy attack damage is 1.67% lower than Master, which could be simply ignored; almost all attack patterns remain unchanged between Expert difficulty and Master difficulty.

  • Mousing over items in the crafting menu will show how many are needed to Research. This also applies to Guide and Tinkerer UI slots.
  • Shift-clicking items to the research slot automatically researches the item.
  • When using the reach booster, it also increases item pickup range.
  • Journey sliders now have interactible buttons which allows the player to snap to specific points.
  • Desktop 1.4.2 : Added button to the menu allowing the player to delete all text in the search bar.
  • Journey Mode characters now spawn with a Grappling Hook .
  • Added sub-categories to Duplication Menu.
  • Due to spawning in all worlds, the Armed Zombie and Bone Skeleton Statues can now be legitimately researched without the use of external editors.
  • Fixed an issue with Traveling Merchant spawning when time was paused with Journey powers.
  • Cleaned up some Christmas decoration grouping in the Duplication menu.
  • Invasion warning messages should no longer spam the player when time is frozen.

Drunk world is a secret world seed introduced in the 1.4.0.1 update. It invokes a highly extraordinary world generation referred to in the source code as drunkWorldGen . [1] It has therefore come to be referred to by the Terraria community as drunk world .

The following seeds can be used to generate a drunk world:

  • 05162020
  • 5162020
  • 1.1 Surface
  • 1.2 Underground
  • 1.3 Evil biomes
  • 1.4 Dungeon and Jungle Temple
  • 1.5 Unknown
  • 1.6 Unaffected world generation aspects
  • 1.7 While generating
  • 2 World icons
  • 4 References

Changes [ ]

  • Visiting this world once permanently unlocks a "Music" option in the Party Girl's menu, to toggle the game's default soundtrack for the Terraria: Otherworld soundtrack. Once unlocked, the option carries to all players and all worlds. Every song in Terraria's soundtrack is replaced with an Otherworld equivalent. In multiplayer , only players who unlocked the "Music" option themselves will hear the change.
  • This applies to Hardmode ores as well: It requires destroying six Demon or Crimson Altars for all ores instead of three. Destroying the first three altars will generate Hardmode ores as normal and destroying the next three altars will generate the other variants. Destroying more altars will repeat the cycle, generating more veins of the six ores.
  • " Try combining a Hellforge with some adamantite ore. I bet you could make some really powerful stuff with that! "
  • " Try combining a Hellforge with some titanium ore. I bet you could make some really powerful stuff with that! "
  • It is determined upon loading the world whether Silver or Tungsten Bullets are sold by the Arms Dealer and dropped from Pots . If the number of all placed tiles of Silver Ore in the world exceeds that of placed Tungsten Ore, then Silver Bullets will be sold and dropped, and vice versa (if the numbers are equal, Tungsten Bullets will be sold and dropped). This is not updated while playing in the world; the world will need to be exited and re-entered to refresh the information. [3]
  • Living Mahogany Trees can generate anywhere underground, not just in the Jungle.
  • The normally unobtainable items Moon Lord Legs and Red Potion can generate in Chests with a 6.67* 1/15 (6.67%) and 3.33* 1/30 (3.33%) chance to appear, respectively.
  • Marble and Granite Caves swap their generation style, i.e., Granite Caves are long, horizontal passages, and Marble Caves are open caves with occasional ledges.
  • The Underground Desert can generate on either side of the world, making it possible for the Underground Desert, Snow and Jungle biomes to all be on the same half of the map.
  • Bee Hives are larger, have elevated spawn rates that match Blood Moons and contain multiple Larvae .
  • The Underworld 's horizontal layout is inverted, with the middle third as a continuous lava lake and the two thirds at the edges containing Ruined Houses . The generation of the houses is noticeably flawed and glitchy, with houses clipping into each other or spawning with incorrect dimensions.
  • Both Oceans always generate with an Ocean Cave, which normally has just a 25* 1/4 (25%) chance.
  • Gem trees and Underground Living Mahogany Trees are much more common.
  • Glowing moss biomes now have a chance to generate below the spawn area in the Cavern layer.
  • Scaled-up enemies are slightly larger and scaled-down enemies are slightly smaller (e.g. Little Eater of Souls and Big Eater of Souls).

Surface [ ]

  • The surface layer is slightly thicker, with the underground starting slightly lower than normal, relative to map height.
  • Living Trees generate much more frequently and may be clustered and interconnected underground.
  • Vanity trees are much more common. Their chance to replace a forest tree during world generation is increased from 5* 1/20 (5%) to 16.67* 1/6 (16.67%) . [4]
  • Deserts have a much higher chance of generating with a Pyramid .
  • Cactus plants placed during world generation have a chance to be larger than usual.
  • Floating Islands are either Deserts with sand instead of dirt and/or Snow biomes with snow instead of dirt, with a corresponding Water Fountain . Snow islands even have Snow Clouds in place of Rain Clouds .
  • The Jungle generates without a tunnel to the surface. (Although, if a Living Tree generates within the Jungle, this could function as a tunnel.)
  • The Jungle and the Snow biome generate on the same side opposite of the Dungeon .

Underground [ ]

Evil biomes [ ].

  • Both evil biomes generate, each on opposite sides of the world.
  • Both the Corruption and Crimson Biome Chests are present in the Dungeon.
  • Shadow Orbs and Crimson Hearts share a single counter. Only the first of either will be a guaranteed firearm and every third total will spawn its boss.
  • However, only one type of altar will generate in the world outside of their chasms, regardless of the biome where they appear. The type of altar depends on which world evil is chosen when creating the world.
  • Crimtane Ore and Demonite Ore can both be found underground.
  • Corrupt or Crimson Seeds from the Dryad.
  • Vile or Vicious Powder from the Dryad.
  • Corrupt or Crimson Grass Wall from the Dryad.
  • The style of Deathweed Planter Box from the Dryad.
  • Purple or Red Solution from the Steampunker.
  • Decay Chamber or Flesh Cloning Vat from the Steampunker.
  • Which evil Biome Mimic can be spawned by the player.
  • The drops from the Eye of Cthulhu .
  • What type of brick is generated by the defeated Wall of Flesh .
  • What type of evil Goldfish, Bunnies and Penguins become during a Blood Moon.
  • Which evil biome will be generated alongside the Hallow when the world transitions to Hardmode .
  • " If you combine lenses at a demon altar, you might be able to find a way to summon a powerful monster. You will want to wait until night before using it, though. "
  • " If you combine lenses at a crimson altar, you might be able to find a way to summon a powerful monster. You will want to wait until night before using it, though. "
  • " You can create worm bait with rotten chunks and vile powder. Make sure you are in a corrupt area before using it. "
  • " You can create a bloody spine with vertebrae. Make sure you are in a crimson area before using it. "
  • " Demonic altars can usually be found in the corruption. You will need to be near them to craft some items. "
  • " Crimson altars can usually be found in the crimson. You will need to be near them to craft some items. "
  • " Shadow orbs can usually be found in the chasms around corrupt areas. Smashing too many will unleash the Eater of Worlds. Defeating this foe may cause meteors to fall out of the sky! "
  • " Crimson hearts can usually be found in the chasms around crimson areas. Smashing too many will unleash the Brain of Cthulhu. Defeating this foe may cause meteors to fall out of the sky! "
  • " I think you are ready for your first major battle. Gather some lenses from the eyeballs at night and take them to a demon altar. "
  • " I think you are ready for your first major battle. Gather some lenses from the eyeballs at night and take them to a crimson altar. "
  • " The ebonstone in the corruption can be purified using some powder from a dryad, or it can be destroyed with explosives. "
  • " The Crimstone in the Crimson can be purified using some powder from a Dryad, or it can be destroyed with explosives. "
  • " Your next step should be to explore the corrupt chasms. Destroy any shadow orb you find. "
  • " Your next step should be to explore the caverns of the Crimson. Find and destroy any Crimson Hearts that you come across. "
  • " Make sure to smash any demon altar you can find. Something good is bound to happen if you do! "
  • " Make sure to smash any crimson altar you can find. Something good is bound to happen if you do! "
  • " Trying to get past that Ebonstone , eh? Why not introduce it to one of these explosives! "
  • " Trying to get past that Crimstone , eh? Why not introduce it to one of these explosives! "
  • " You must cleanse the world of this corruption. "
  • " You must cleanse the world of this crimson. "
  • " Have you tried using purification powder on the ebonstone of the corruption? "
  • " Have you tried using purification powder on the crimstone of the crimson? "
  • Evil biome-specific quests given by the Angler . [6]

Dungeon and Jungle Temple [ ]

  • Both the Dungeon and the Jungle Temple are painted brown, deep sky blue, green, lime, purple, red, or yellow; and both feature spikes that extend three blocks high instead of two.
  • The surface entrance to the Dungeon is completely removed. The Dungeon instead generates underneath a "dead" Living Tree , with leaves painted brown to differentiate it from other Living Trees.
  • Since the Dungeon point (the leftmost of the two tiles that the Old Man stands on at night) is located inside the Old Man's underground house, the Cultists also spawn in there.
  • This makes it possible to obtain a Water Bolt as well as encounter the Bound Mechanic prior to defeating Skeletron.
  • Furthermore, a locked Gold Chest is almost always generated in the entrance room and it will always contain a Muramasa . This is not unique to the drunk world seed, but is an artifact of the way that Dungeon loot is generated (see Dungeon § Notes for more details).

Unknown [ ]

It is currently not known if:

  • Large room at the bottom of the Jungle Temple never has traps (Needs confirmation).

Unaffected world generation aspects [ ]

While drunk world generation generally causes otherwise per-world counterparts to coexist upon generation or through other methods, there remain some generation aspects that appear to be unaffected:

  • As mentioned previously, altar generation outside of chasms will always correspond to one world evil, rather than both generating as one would expect.

While generating [ ]

  • Generation descriptions and tips become random numbers that change every tick (except when " Placing traps ").
  • The background shows a Glowing Mushroom biome , with clouds that resemble Redigit 's head. The moon moves backwards and resembles a smiley face (see Trivia ). Once the world finishes generating, it is possible to go back to the main menu with these effects still visible.
  • The outline of the progress bar rapidly flashes between Corruption and Crimson .
  • The Console Title music plays, instead of the normal Title Screen theme.
  • The Terraria logo spins out and disappears along with the version number.

World icons [ ]

The world icon of a drunk world shows a tree infected with both world evils.

Pre-Hardmode world icon.

Pre-Hardmode world icon.

Hardmode world icon.

Hardmode world icon.

  • This seed references May 16, 2020, which is Terraria 's 9th birthday and the release date of 1.4.0.1 .
  • The discovery of the drunk world originated from an image posted in a tweet by Redigit , [7] featuring the release date and the new world generation screen.
  • Using the Demon Conch in a new drunk world will not transport the player to the Underworld , as it requires solid ground to place the player on. An artificial surface must be built instead.
  • The smiley-faced moon seen during the generation of a drunk world is a reference to an astronomical hoax that was said to happen the same day Journey's End released on PC. [8] [9]
  • "now aunt brush", "Joke Disappear Horizon" and "disapprove stiff solution" produce a drunk world.
  • When generating the dungeon, the premade house for the old man can have a floor of cracked bricks. This requires the floor to be replaced for the lunar cultists to spawn after defeating Golem.
