Mark Hoppus of Blink 182 Coachella 2023

What Is Blink-182’s Setlist Of Songs For Their 2023 World Tour?

Flisadam Pointer

Quite literally, the band ( Blink-182 ) is back together: Tom DeLonge , Mark Hoppus, and Travis Barker reunited at Coachella for a glorious reminder of their lasting impact on rock music. However, the music festival was just the tip of the iceberg. Following a delay due to Barker’s finger injury , which required surgery, last night (May 4), the group finally kicked off their monumental world tour in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Given the fact that it’s been nearly a decade since their last performance before Coachella, and with the group’s fluctuation, fans were curious as to which songs would make Blink-182’s set of songs for the world tour. Thanks to Setlist.fm , concertgoers now have a better idea of what they can expect when the band heads to the city nearest them. Several fan-favorite songs, including “Adam’s Song,” “Ghost On The Dancefloor,” and “Up All Night,” reentered their setlist, while songs like “Cynical” and “Bored To Death” were first-time live performances with DeLonge.

Blink-182

Pop-punk lifers rejoiced upon the announcement that Blink-182 — the San Diego trio against which all other heavy-and-happy bands are measured — had reunited its classic lineup .

Guitarist Tom DeLonge is back after a split from bassist Mark Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker in 2014 (preceded by a split in 2005 and reunion in ‘09). While the band soldiered on with Alkaline Trio frontman Matt Skiba, releasing two LPs in 2016’s California and 2019’s Nine, it was never the same, the electricity (and poop jokes) among the core trio never replicated.

But now, the group is back together and promising a new album — a bouncy new single called “Edging” just dropped Friday. An accompanying new world tour is set to kick off next year, and some fans are surely already dreaming about what the ideal Blink 2.0 setlist might look like.

Us, too! So we went ahead and built this dream setlist: 25 songs that would more than satisfy the droves of millennials heading for arenas across the U.S. and beyond next year. This setlist, which we believe the band could pull off in about two hours — pretty standard for a legacy headliner — is informed by recent tours, fan sentiment and, moreover, what we think would be freaking awesome to see.

Here’s our best-case scenario on how the new Blink tour plays out. Happy moshing!

Take ‘em all the way back, boys! “Carousel” isn’t just the first song off the band’s 1995 debut LP Cheshire Cat, but it’s a killer set-starter, with its extended, cresting guitar intro eventually giving way to DeLonge’s speedy lead vocal. And of course, the band is going to begin with a Tom song to signal his return.

From one epic album opener to another, Blink keeps the energy way up with “Dumpweed,” the fan-beloved kick-off to world-beating 1999 blockbuster Enema of the State — and another Tom song! The pit that opened up during “Carousel” stays open, a 37-year-old dad of two gets socked in the mouth.

"Wendy Clear"

Stick with Enema early. Another big, bright jam with soaring guitars gives Hoppus his first lead vocal of the night (and DeLonge a quick break to soak it all in). Fans start to wonder whether this set will be as Enema- heavy as the 20-year anniversary tour in 2019.

"When I Was Young"

Around 2011-12, when Blink was at its least culturally relevant — too old to be cool, not quite old enough for bleeding nostalgia — they released some really great tunes, like this big, crashing jam off 2012’s Dogs Eating Dogs EP. DeLonge sounds GREAT on this track, right in the Angels and Airwaves-adjacent pocket he seems to prefer. This one should separate the full-term fans from the hits-only crew.

"Man Overboard"

Another bass-heavy classic, which was left off Enema and included on the band’s 2000 live album The Mark, Tom and Travis Show, with DeLonge and Hoppus trading vocals and Barker just destroying the kit — ironic, since the track is about the band firing their previous drummer.

"Aliens Exist"

Tom’s back; they have to play it. DeLonge, now famous for his extraterrestrial life research and investigations, surely makes some comments here, or at least mugs for the crowd on lines like “we all know conspiracies are dumb.”

Another popular throwback — even further this time, to ‘97’s rollicking Dude Ranch and its punky ode to the girlfriend who laughs at your dumb jokes and brings you Mexican food. Hoppus always sounds great on this one. At least one ear-muffed toddler in the crowd is named Josie and lifted high in celebration.

"Stay Together for the Kids"

The mood shifts a little darker here, with the night’s first song off 2001’s Take Off Your Pants and Jacket. “Stay Together” is the ultimate anthem for millennial children of divorce and fans scream-belt their trauma into the arena void. Fun!

“No Heart to Speak Of” (with Brendan Yates of Turnstile)

If they’re going to play anything from the Matt Skiba era, it better be this total banger off 2019’s Nine album, which old-school fans probably didn’t hear. But this emo-studded tune really kills, and DeLonge should launch into the stratosphere on it. But since most of the crowd doesn’t know it, the group welcomes Yates, from rising hardcore openers Turnstile, to the stage, his raw vocal adding fury to the hook.

Okay, back to the American Pie- era stuff. Everyone loves “Mutt,” everyone feels included again, everyone hurries back from the beer stand.

"Family Reunion"

The mood lightens further with some vulgar flashback silliness, none of which we dare repeat here — this is a family website!

"Ghost on the Dance Floor"

Again, 2011’s Neighborhoods had at least a half-dozen redeemable tracks, the best being this big, atmospheric beast — heavy Angels influence here — where DeLonge really shines. Surely the guys will want to play at least one song from their last album together, and this is the moment.

“Always” is a great gap song, bridging the more sweeping elements of “Ghost” with the more melancholic sentiment of what should immediately follow.

“Adam’s Song” (acoustic)

As “Always” finishes with an extended drum outro from Barker, Hoppus and DeLonge trot out to the B-stage built in the middle of the arena, the X’s-for-eyes logo stamped at the center, where an acoustic guitar and bass wait on their stands. The crowd erupts as the opening melody of emotionally conflicted favorite “Adam’s Song” begins. It’s a panoramic, cathartic moment for all.

“I Miss You” (acoustic)

DeLonge and Hoppus embark on an acoustic interlude here, strumming and strumming, building and building, the crowd not yet sure where they’re going, and then they hear it — the scratchy plucks of hallowed emo classic “I Miss You.” When DeLonge comes in with his “where are you” verse, many in attendance burst into tears of elation and relief.

As “I Miss You” finishes and the snot-dripping crowd cheers, there’s a rumbling back on the main stage. It’s Barker, strapped into the same gyroscope-like drum contraption he’s used on previous tours, where he rotates on three axes as he beats his kit into submission. Someone in the pit holds up a giant poster of Kourtney Kardashian. They show it on the big screen. Everyone laughs.

“All The Small Things”

And so begins the emphatic push to the finish; only hits ‘til the encore. The solo finishes, Barker’s kit turns right-side-up and the party is back on as the guitar to “All the Small Things” kicks in. People scream, confetti cannons explode, and the glittery pieces raining over the crowd are, you guessed it, tiny golden phalluses. Fans scoop them into their pockets as keepsakes.

"Feeling This"

Get ready for action! The pop-punk bacchanal hurtles forward.

"The Rock Show"

A no-brainer: the fans know every word, excellent vibes swarm the arena, and everyone is beyond thrilled Hoppus is back and seemingly happy and healthy — all while trying not to consider their own mortality.

"First Date" ("Blitzkrieg Bop" intro)

“The Rock Show” and “First Date” go together like beer and pizza, so naturally you pair them for the big finale. They use the same “hey-ho, let’s go” intro they used on previous tours for some hearty chants, DeLonge sings about his stupid hair, balloons with poop jokes written on them fall from the ceiling, both band and crowd are exhausted but can also see God.

ENCORE: “Anthem Part Two”

But wait, there’s more! The triumphant pop-punk march that is “Anthem Part Two” begins before the lights even come back up, and the crowd roars in a collective “Oh s–t, there’s more, we need to give the babysitter a call.”

This one’s for the Blink diehards only, a throwback to Dude Ranch where Hoppus and DeLonge split vocals and the pit opens up one last time.

Another oldie, from Cheshire Cat, but one that’s generally better-known since it was a single and made the band’s greatest hits CD in ‘05. The guitar throttles as the old heads nod in approval.

"What’s My Age Again?"

Everyone knows it’s coming, but the audience still explodes as DeLonge picks the unmistakable guitar melody. Suddenly, the 15,000 people in attendance are all 23 again, reveling in how nobody likes them. It’s freeing!

They play the new single — which isn’t quite as good as their other stuff, but no one cares at this point. People dutifully clap along like pre-schoolers under the music tent at the county fair.

The band thanks the crowd for coming, for sticking with them for the last three decades and making them one of the most successful rock bands of the 21st century. Okay, they don’t spell out that last part — they make X-rated jokes instead — but it’s true! That last, generation-defining riff begins, a truly epic night with reunited Blink-182 speeds to a close, and fans decide how long to wait before running to their cars; got to beat the traffic!

Blink-182 Reunites with Tom DeLonge for Massive 2023 World Tour, New Album and 'Edging' Single

Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker and Tom DeLonge are back together for the first time since 2015 with new music and an extensive string of concerts across Latin America, North America, Europe and Oceania

Get ready to Take Off Your Pants and Jacket , because Blink-182 is back in its most iconic form.

Blink-182 surprised fans on Tuesday with the announcement of its first new music and world tour featuring members Mark Hoppus , Travis Barker and Tom DeLonge since 2015 with a cheeky video teasing "Edging," the alternative rock band's new single, out Friday.

Posted to social media, the announcement video features Blink-182's signature suggestive humor as a series of everyday individuals seemingly anticipate the band's return. "If I'm being totally honest, I can't stop thinking about them coming," says a woman lounging in a beach chair, before a green-haired, heavily pierced and tattooed punker asks later in the clip, "Could you imagine all three of them coming?"

At the end of the video, text revealing the upcoming tour, album and single appear onscreen while what sounds like a clip from "Edging" plays in the background. "I ain't that cool / A little f---ed in the head / They'll be hanging me quick / When I'm back from the dead / Get the rope," sings the band.

"Edging" marks Blink-182's first new single featuring the complete trio since DeLonge, 46, exited the band in 2015 to focus on his other project, rock band Angels & Airwaves, formed in 2005. Earlier this year, he fueled rumors of his triumphant return, posting a black-and-white throwback photo of the band, which he helped form in 1992, tagging the group in the caption.

However, Hoppus later took to his Discord channel to set the record straight regarding DeLonge's rumored return to the group. "There is no news to share. There is no announcement," wrote the bassist and vocalist before noting a celebratory occasion for the band, which formed in August 1992. "Today is 30 years of blink-182!"

At its 1992 inception, Blink-182 consisted of co-founders DeLonge, Hoppus, 50, and Scott Raynor, who exited the group in 1998. Barker, 46, entered during the making of Blink-182's breakout 1999 Enema of the State album, and they released music and performed as a trio through DeLonge's 2005 exit. Since then, Hoppus and Barker have created music and toured with Matt Skiba, who's seemingly now left the band.

Kicking off on March 11, 2023, at the Imperial GNP festival in Tijuana, Mexico, and continuing its Latin American leg through early April, the reunion tour will go on for nearly a year, featuring North American shows from May through July, European shows from September through October, and a string of dates in Australia and New Zealand in February 2024.

The band's opening acts include Wallows in Latin America, Turnstile in North America, The Story So Far in Europe and Rise Against in Australia and New Zealand.

Earlier this year, Hoppus told PEOPLE that Barker and DeLonge paid him a hospital visit following his stage 4 diffuse large B-cell lymphoma diagnosis in April 2021. "It was the first time that all three of us were in the same room in like five years," said the rocker, who's now cancer-free. "It's actually better than it used to be. There was no agenda. There were no lingering grudges. It felt very back to what it should be: three friends sitting in a room."

Classic Blink-182 Lineup Announces 2023 World Tour, New Music to Come

by Alli Patton October 11, 2022, 4:33 pm

After wiping their Instagram, clearing their website, and dropping cryptic breadcrumbs across the internet, it turns out Blink-182 was actually up to something .

Videos by American Songwriter

The punk rock outfit is officially back with the classic lineup – Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus, and Travis Barker—new music, and an extensive 2023-2024 globetrotting tour.

The Enema of the State trio became a duo in 2015 when DeLonge parted ways with the band. Replaced by Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio, Blink lived on to record two more albums before radio silence in 2019. In the interim, Hoppus battled and beat a cancer diagnosis ; Barker became a Kardashian , and DeLonge became a renowned UFO researcher.

Now, the skate punk prodigies have reunited, announcing their long-rumored comeback in a video that features the band’s trademark immaturity along with snippets of their new single “Edging,” set for release on Friday (Oct. 14).

Their extensive tour will kick off in Central and South America, continuing with a two-month-long North American leg. The end of 2023 will see the band traveling Europe with a trek across Australia and New Zealand into 2024. See all show dates, below.

blink 182 tour 2023 song list

blink-182 are hosting the Rock Show of 2024 with their upcoming One More Time Tour across North America this summer. The reunited core lineup of Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker kicked off their comeback with two surprise sets at Coachella in April 2023, which led to their highest grossing North American tour ever , a headlining stint at Las Vegas’ When We Were Young festival and their chart-topping ninth album, One More Time…

After spending much of 2023 on the road during World Tour 2023/2024, the band is hitting North America again for the 2024 One More Time Tour starting in June. They will resume World Tour 2023/2024 and go international again after the One More Time Tour concludes in August.

Below, take a look at a typical blink-182 tour setlist and find out everything you need to know about the trio’s concerts.

blink-182 Concert Setlist Info

The current blink-182 setlist spares no expense when it comes to the band’s nostalgia-rich catalog, but the Mark, Tom and Travis Show has always come with its fair share of surprises, gags and stage banter. During their ongoing World Tour 2023/2024, blink-182 have consistently featured their biggest hits, including “What’s My Age Again?” and “All the Small Things,” while incorporating new material from their latest album, One More Time… , which arrived in October 2023.

In February, blink-182 launched the Australian leg of their World Tour 2023/2024 and introduced several additions to the setlist from their new album, including a full performance of “ANTHEM PART 3,” “TURPENTINE” and the Travis Barker-led “F–K FACE.” The band have also experimented with a mash-up of their 1999 hit “Dammit” throughout the tour, playing teases to TLC’s “No Scrubs,” Spice Girls’ “Wannabe” and Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” Other deep-cut performances include “Wendy Clear” and “Don’t Leave Me” from 2001’s five-time platinum-selling album Enema of the State .

Below, you can find an average blink-182 concert setlist from the 2024 Australian leg of their World Tour 2023/2024 — and once the One More Time Tour begins in June, check back to see updated setlist information.
