On Top of the World

Stand on the Burj Khalifa for breathtaking views of this extraordinary city. At 828 meters, this narrow tower is the world's tallest so far. It has an observation deck on the 124th and the 148th floor, and a restaurant-bar on the 122nd. Book tickets well in advance.
Maze of Modern Life
Head to Madinat Jumeirah, one of Dubai's most attractive developments. With your Dubai cruise, stroll along the desert-colored villas and hotels, alongside waterways with palms, banana trees and bougainvillea. Sit down in one of the trendy local cafes for a refreshing fruit juice. At the heart of this modern village lies Souq Madinat Jumeirah, a maze-like bazaar with shops lining wood-framed walkways.
Local Cuisine
You'll be able to find food from anywhere around the globe here — but focus on the local fare for the most authentic experience with Dubai cruises. While you're out on the town, pick up a shawarma , shaved strips of spicy spit-roasted meat served in pita bread. Try manousheh , a flatbread topped with local Akkawi cheese and za'atar herbs. Culture & History of the Dubai Cruise Port
On cruises to Dubai, you’ll quickly discover that the history of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is rich, varied, and experiencing its very own renaissance. Humans have been living in the area that is now Dubai for thousands of years, but Dubai didn’t gain its cultural and economic prominence until the 18th and 19th centuries, when the city became the first port opening the area to trade. In the 1950s, oil was discovered and forever changed Dubai’s economy and its role in the global sphere. Since then, Dubai has steadily grown, becoming one of the most glamorous cities in history. Culturally, Dubai is greatly influenced by Islam, and during Ramadan, many restaurants and shops close to adhere to the holiday. Be sure to check to see if your Dubai cruise coincides with Ramadan during your time there.
Dubai Port Facilities & Location
Your Dubai cruise ship’s port of call is the Port of Rashid, which is equipped with state-of-the-art amenities like free wifi, currency exchange, a tourism information area, and plenty of souvenirs for you to bring back home when you return to the ship. You’ll see the Dubai skyline when you arrive at the Port of Rashid, and can depart the cruise port from a taxi or through a complimentary shuttle when you’re heading out on a shore excursion.
Transportation in Dubai
As the UAE’s most populated city, Dubai has no shortage of people buzzing around, trying to get from point A to point B. Dubai has an extensive metro and bus system that you can access by getting a Nol Card. You can simply buy a day pass while you’re stopped on cruises to Dubai. The taxi network in Dubai is enormous, too. Taxis have a different colored roof than other cars to signal what is a taxi and what isn’t. They’re also metered to make sure you get a decent fare. You can hail a taxi from the cruise port, but be sure to talk with your driver if you’re interested in booking a multi-stop ride or tour with them.
Shopping Near the Dubai Cruise Port
Dubai is a shopper’s paradise, ranging from the high end to bargain markets for every type of shopper. The Dubai Mall is the second largest mall in the world, so it’s easy to lose track of time perusing over 1,200 shops featuring clothing, antiques, and fine jewelry. Of course, Dubai’s revitalized downtown contains a variety of souks and marketplaces where you can purchase gold, spices, jewelry, handmade goods, and more.
Local Currency & Tipping Customs
Dubai is part of the United Arab Emirates and the official currency there is called the Dirham (Dhs). You can haggle and bargain in souqs, or outdoor markets, but prices in department stores and boutiques tend to be fixed. Tipping is 10-15% of your surcharge at restaurants and bars, and you can round up to the nearest Dirham note when you’re tipping your taxi driver.

The best possible way to define a cruise is a floating holiday retreat that takes you from one place to the other. The cruise houses passengers and takes them from one holiday destination to the other. There are various types of cruises like ocean cruises, river cruises, solo cruises, family cruises, couple cruises, luxury cruises, adventure cruises, etc.
Why Go On a Cruise Holiday?
A study shows that there has been a significant rise in tourists availing a cruise holiday over the regular holidays. While you are enjoying cruise holidays, you do not need to worry about any of your day-to-day requirements as everything is made available to you in surplus quantities. The ultimate getaway from your mundane routine work is a cruise holiday where you are asked to do just one thing - relax. Dubai cruise packages are international tour packages that will help you hit the refresh button amidst azure waters.

A “ Dhow ” is a traditional wooden vessel that is common in the Middle East and has been used historically for a variety of purposes, primarily for trading.
Dhows are made in a variety of sizes and in the UAE have been most used for trade between UAE and Iran aswell as for pearl diving .
Over the last decade the demand for dhows has gone down and has been replaced by more modern vessels.
Nonetheless, Dhows have played a cruicial role in the history and evolution of the gulf and are iconic as a mode of sea transportation.
In the last couple of decades, a lot of the ‘Dhows’ have been repurposed for tourism purposes, one of them being dhow cruise dinners.
A Dhow Cruise Dubai Marina is a nice concept. Read on.
In the 90’s, some entrepreneurs began converting the larger dhows that were traditionally used for trading into refurbished floating restaurants that would operate dinner cruises in the Dubai Creek .
That segment has grown and over many years has evolved into a rather important and iconic type of tourist attraction in Dubai .
Starting with only handful of Dhows in early 90’s the segment has grown into over 30 dhows in the Creek and 8 in Dubai Marina.
One the elements of the Dhow Cruise ‘culture’ has been to have live entertainment onboard in a variety of forms.
Originally, belly dancing was most common, but with time, Dubai Government has been eliminating this form of entertainment and has now been almost entirely replaced by ‘Tanura’ – a traditionally Turksih dance that is usually performed by a male dancer that is spinning in a flowing and elaborately decorated dress, creating a very interesting sight.
The dinner cruise in Dubai Marina as a concept began in 2010 with some operators bringing the dhow boats to Dubai Marina and operating floating restaurants. The Dhow Cruise Marina attraction began gaining momentum and popularity and currently is a household product among inbound tour operators in Dubai.
Today, the dinner cruise in Dubai Marina is considered to be a much more upscale option that any other area in Dubai.
DINNER ONBOARD A DHOW CRUISE IN DUBAI MARINA
As always, with the opening of Dubai Marina as a new area and tourist destination, there was room for starting new business ventures.
Alexandra was one of the first boats that began its operations as far back as 2009.
Now there are around 7 boats that operate in Dubai Marina.
So what is the difference between a Dhow Cruise in Dubai Marina versus a Dhow Cruise in Dubai Creek?
Well, this article will give you a very detailed answer, but funadmentally – the main difference is location.
Dubai Creek is the old part of town, and Dubai Marina is a new area in Dubai.
Fundamentally, that is the only difference, and the difference then lies in the actual operators of each boats. There are many good boats in Dubai Creek and some in Dubai Marina.
It must be noted however that Dubai Marina has MUCH less boats 8 versus more than 25 in the Creek.
As a rule of thumb, the quality of operators in Dubai Marina on average is higher, due to the the higher parking fees and the need to compensate by attracting a higher quality clientele.
DINNER CRUISE DUBAI
A dinner cruise generally is a great combination of dinner and cruising, but a cruise dinner in Dubai Marina is a particular excellent fusion
