Tour description

Full-day tour on all-wheel-drive jeeps runs each day with English-speaking and Chinese-speaking guide (daily) and with Russian-speaking and German-speaking on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. The tour lasts about eight hours.

You can choose the option with or without elephant trekking in a small family safari park with nine elephants.

At first, you will visit the temple at Plai Laem – the temple with the statue of the Goddess of mercy Guan Yin. Next, you will see the Big Buddha (Pra-Yai Temple), a 12-meter statue which was installed in 1972 on the bulk island of Fan in the Bangrak region in the north of Samui.

Then you will travel to the south of the island where you can enjoy the rocks Grandmother and Grandfather. In the Muslim village, you will visit the coconut processing farm. You will see how trained monkeys gather the coconuts. By the way, the Latin name of the palm tree is Cōcos nucifēra, it comes from the Portuguese word coco (“monkey”) and is given because of the holes on the nut that make it look like a monkey’s face. After a short show, the monkey will pose with coconut and you can take a photo with it. On the farm, you can taste the coconut. If you wish, you can buy organic coconut oil of the first (cold) pressing, made on the farm.

After coconut farm, you will have a long panoramic jeep ride along the jungle roads to the plantations of a village called Phutboon. You will be fascinated by one of the most unusual, impressive and very romantic places on Samui – a private viewpoint located at 615 meters above sea level, with a view of 360 ° degrees around and a very nice local restaurant – Jungle Route 360 °. This place can be called a small eco-settlement since the source of electricity here is solar energy, waste is sorted, organic waste is turned into compost for growing organic vegetables and fruits. If there is no fog, you will see Koh Phangan and Koh Tao, Bophut, Chaweng, Samui airport, the islands of the Angthong marine national park (primarily Paluai) and the coast of Khanom.

Lunch is very tasty, with a large selection of traditional Thai dishes, including the famous Tom Yam, Pad Thai, and fresh fruits. You will have time to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere and make magical photos.

The guide will acquaint you with the famous rubber tree and tell about the traditional method of rubber extraction and the production of all kinds of latex products.

The next point of the tour is the famous Magic Garden. You can write a lot about it, but it’s better to see it. The creations of Mr. Nim, who lives here, are impressive and at times seem alive.

If you book a tour with elephant trekking, you will go to a local family farm where nine elephants are treated with awe and gentleness and fed ripe bananas (you can do it too). After fifteen minutes of jungle trekking and chatting with animals, you will travel to the last point of your journey – Namuang 2 waterfall, located on the territory of Namuang Safari Park, where you can refresh and swim in a cool waterfall. At this time on the waterfall, there is practically no one, and you can fully enjoy the beauty and sounds of the jungle.

After bathing it is time to go to the hotel! The staff will be very happy if you fill out the questionnaires by answering a few questions to improve the service.

Features of the tour: when you book a tour without trekking, we will try not to bring you to a safari park, where you need to wait for skaters, and we will go straight to the waterfall.

If you want to ride a zip line, please inform us in advance, and we will stop at Sky Fox, where you can pass 4 or 7 stations. At lunchtime, vegetarian and vegan dishes are offered.

You can choose the option with or without riding an elephant in a small family safari park with nine elephants.

At first, you will visit the temple at Plai Laem – the temple with the statue of the Goddess of mercy Guan Yin. The temple is very colorful, so the photos turn out to be bright and unusual.

Further, you will go to the south of the island, Hua Tanon, and visit the Chinese temple of Guan Yuya – the famous Chinese general, who lived 1800 years ago and is now revered as a god of war. The temple was built in 204, for the manufacture of the Guan Yu sculpture 20 million Baht was spent.

Then, in the Muslim village, you will visit the coconut processing farm. You will see how trained monkeys gather the coconuts. By the way, the Latin name of the palm tree is Cōcos nucifēra, it comes from the Portuguese word coco (“monkey”) and is given because of the holes on the nut that make it look like a monkey’s face. Further, you will visit the waterfall Namuang 2, located on the territory of Namuang Safari Park, where you can swim and relax. On the territory of the park at an extra fee, you can take a photo with a tiger or a leopard.

If you book a tour with elephant trekking, you will go to a local family farm where nine elephants are treated with awe and gentleness, groom and cherish and fed ripe bananas (you can do it too).

Then you will have an unforgettable ascent through the fruit plantations and jungles of the island to the highest point of the island where the Dipangkorn temple is located and several Buddhist sculptures are installed, including the famous Walking Buddha at the very top of the hill. Here you can visit the museum in Koh Samui.

Afterward, you will have a long panoramic jeep ride along the jungle roads to the plantations of a village called Phutboon. You will be fascinated by one of the most unusual, impressive and very romantic places on Samui – a private viewpoint located at 615 meters above sea level, with a view of 360 ° degrees around and a very nice local restaurant – Jungle Route 360 °. Reviews for "Jeep safari route 360"

A very funny guide Tony, with whom we laughed to tears, he told various funny stories while we waited for those who were lagging behind. After carrying us a lot of useful and interesting information related to the Play Lai temple complex and the Big Buddha temple. Very impressed by the figure of the goddess of mercy Kuan-Yin. My husband dreamed to see the Big Buddha with his own eyes, and now the dream has come true! Next were the coconut and rubber plantations and, accordingly, coconut tasting and a master class on the extraction of rubber juice. I remember Jungle Road Park with a viewing platform and a Thai-style lunch. And it was also cool to ride the hellish road that sits on the jeep’s cab))) Perhaps the most impressive impression was left by the waterfall, because I literally climbed right into HIM) unknown gave. And this is no joke, because I still have no pain in my back and neck. This tour is carefully put in my piggy bank of memories) Thank you so much!

  • emmabC697HS 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles Slightly confusing pick up time but great value for money tour Great value for money. Get to see lots of sights for a great price. If you want a long time at each site or a fully guided tour with lots of information this is not for you but if you're happy to see the sights and have a look around by yourself it's brilliant. Slightly confusing pick up as our information said hotel pick ups would be 30-60 minutes before. We assumed this to mean 8-8.30am for a 9am start but we were actually collected at 9.20am. We did try to ring but their line wouldn't connect so we sent a message and they replied pretty promptly to confirm our pick up time. Other than this, fantastic trip! Because the boat driver went over the time looking for them the speed in which we went to the snorkelling place was pretty scary and very uncomfortable I didn't like this at all and wasn't a nice place to snorkel lots of seaweed and not many fish. Pig island made up for the day I really enjoyed feeding and petting the pigs think I would just do this trip if I did it again. When we got back to shore the food we were served was beautiful and plenty of it coconut soup massaman curry Thai curry and crispy chicken deliciousness. Read more Written 14 January 2024
  • jaanaplafi 0 contributions 2.0 of 5 bubbles Poor snorkeling spot and a lot of trash in pig island. We booked a tour, which included a boat ride to look for some dolphins, snorkeling, pig island and lunch in the end. Unfortunately we didn't see any dolphins, but that's alright, they are free creatures. The problem was that we were one hour late from the schedule. Also the snorkeling spot was very poor. No corals, not many fishes, just a lot of seeweed. It was a bummer, because at this point we've been on the boat for 2,5 hours waiting for the snorkeling spot with all the corals. There are amazing snorkeling spots in thailand so this 40 minute snorkeling to see nothing was definetely something the company didn't tell us. After this we had 50 minutes on the pig island. The animals were lovely, but the island was extremely untidy. A lot of trash everywhere, plastic and cans. Not worth the money in our experience. Read more Written 12 January 2024
  • tbo4768 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Not a Great Tour It was worth taking the trip for a walk on Nang Yuan Island but the service was terrible. It consisted of barking instructions at the guests army style by a semi-literate Burmese guide in semi-intelligible English. I felt like a part of a herd, not a tourist group. The whole trip consists of a 1.5hr visit to Nang Yuan, a brief lunch on Koh Tao (even though bait-and-switch style, the trip is marketed as a visit to Koh Tao), and then snorkeling, snorkeling and again snorkeling - yes, 3 times, while people not interested in the activity had to sit on the hot boat as the snorkeling sites were off shore. I do not understand why these cannot be 2 separate trips - one for those who want to visit Nang Yuan and Koh Tao, and one for the diehard fans of snorkeling. There is a separate fee to set foot on Nang Yuan island collected in cash before the start of the trip. On the way back there was something wrong with the boat so it had to stop mid-sea twice until the crew got things right. This company has no idea what customer service is and it's employees are not very well trained - and this is what creates the unpleasant experience. On the other hand, there doesn't seem to be a lot of competition to encourage them to do better. Read more Written 6 January 2024

Two relatively novice riders with two young kids surrounded by much more experienced riders could have been a little intimidating. But the staff were really great. They stayed with us even though we were well behind the main group. Never hurried us, just really kind and helpful. Highly recommend to those with young families though probably six would be the youngest. Just easier to manage. Thanks again to the great team! Read more Written 1 January 2024

The statue sits atop a small island connected to Koh Samui by a causeway. On the island you will find many stalls offering a wide choice of souvenirs for every taste and budget.

Eight Buddhas temple viewpoint

After soaking the energy of that incredible place, you will go on to a real tropical 4x4 safari. Through the untamed jungle of Koh Samui you will ascend to the highest viewpoint on the island- 605 m. You will get the chance to see the amazing Koh Samui from the bird's-eye-view!

Buddha secret garden

Your next stop is the Magic garden, also called Buddha secret garden. It was build by a talented farmer Nim Thongsuk who wanted to recreate a piece of heaven on his lands. He died at the age of 91 still working on his garden.

The biggest Koh Samui waterfall

After a mountain ride it is time for lunch. You will enjoy traditional Thai food, fresh fruit and soft drinks. With renewed energy you make a trip to the waterfall of Koh Samui. You will get a chance to rest your feet in the cool waters of the waterfall stream and get a natural peeling from the tiny local fish!

Your next stop is Namuang Safari Park. You will get a chance to take a photo with a real tiger or a leopard, watch elephant show, monkey show, crocodile show and take a ride on an elephant through the jungle.

Mummified monk

Next you will be taken to the Wat Khunaram temple that houses a mummy of the Buddhist monk that died 40 years ago. Take part in traditional rituals: have a good luck thread bracelet tied by a monk and get your fortune told by bamboo sticks.

Grandfather and Grandmother rocks

Your last stop is a legendary place created by nature itself- Grandfather and Grandmother rocks. Local people believe that a wish for a baby made by the rocks will come true. People come from all over the world to make a wish!

guan yu chinese warrior - Koh Samui tours

Description

Are you ready for a spectacular adventure around and on top of Koh Samui? Join us on a Jeep safari tour around the island in an open top ex-army Jeep! On this trip you will see a number of highlights on Samui, such as grandfather & grandmother rocks, Guan Yu the huge Chinese warrior, Namuang waterfall (bring your swimwear!), the mummified monk and a trip up the mountain to see the most amazing viewpoint on the highest point of the island.

The Jeep safari tour around Koh Samui starts at around 10:00 with a pickup from your hotel and takes until 17:00 or 5:00 pm. During the tour you will see a number of locations that you normally wouldn’t see on your Koh Samui holiday as they are difficult to reach. Not with our Jeeps! We’ll take you up the mountain and through the jungle in and on our powerful cars. See the Magic Buddha garden, Wat Ti Pungon on top of the mountain and enjoy a lunch in one of Samui’s highest restaurants with a view. Join us on the Jeep safari around Koh Samui with daily departure!

What to Expect on the Jeep Safari tour

This Jeep Safari on Koh Samui takes you around the island to visit a number of highlights on the island. It is suitable for all ages, but be prepared that the ride up the mountain can be bumpy. That’s why we don’t allow pregnant women or children under 2 years old on this tour. You’ll get to see a number of sights around the island, including a delicious Thai style lunch on top of the mountain. Great views guaranteed! As usual, your tour includes pickup and drop off from and to your hotel, friendly guides and accident insurance. Enjoy the Jeep safari on Koh Samui!

09:30 - 10:00 - Pickup from your hotel or villa

We will pick you up from yout hotel between 09:30 and 10:00. The exact pickup time depends on your location. Our Jeeps will be there on the mentioned pickup time!

Grandfather & grandmother rocks

Our first stop of the day is at the famous grandfather & grandmother rocks north of Lamai. Hin Ta & Hin Yai are the Thai names and are represented by a rock in the form of a fallus and a hole. Great stuff!

Guan Yu is the next highlight of this tour. This huge statue of a Chinese warrior hasn’t been around long but is part of most tour itineraries around the island. When you get there you will understand: it’s huge and looks extremely powerful.

The mummified monk at Wat Khunaram

On our way to the south of Koh Samui we will visit the mummified monk. The temple is called Wat Khunaram and houses a monk that has been there since 1973. When he died is unknown, but his remains are remarkably preserved.

Swimming & relaxing at Namuang Waterfall

Also in the south, you’ll get to see the amazing waterfalls of Namuang. Especially during or after the rainy season the waterfall is pretty powerful. The pond below fills up and is an amazing place to enjoy a cooling swim. One of the better photo opportunities of this tour.

Thai lunch & viewpoint

The jeep takes us up the mountain for a delicious Thai style lunch at one of the highest restaurants on Koh Samui. Enjoy a number of typical Thai dishes and the amazing 270 degrees viewpoint.

Mr Tanims Buddha Garden

After lunch it’s time to hit the road again. We’ll visit the magic Buddha garden with 21 Buddha statues in different forms and poses. It’s hard to get to, but on this tour you will most definitely make it!

Wat Pra Putta Teepangkorn

At the highest point of the island we will visit the giant Buddha at Wat Pra Putta Teepangkorn. You can climb up the statue or stay at the temple. From both locations you will have an amazing view over most of Koh Samui. Great photo opportunity here!

16:30 - 17:00 - Big Buddha and transfer back your hotel

At the end of the day it’s time to head back down the mountain. Our last stop is the Big Buddha at the northeastern point of Koh Samui. This is one of the most famous points on the island and a must see on your visit. After the Big Buddha it’s time to head back to your hotel. Our army Jeep will drop you off at around 17:00, just in time for dinner. We hope you had an amazing day!

What kind of food do you serve during lunch?

For lunch there are a number of Thai dishes available. The buffet is suitable for vegetarians and muslims (halal). If you have any food allergies, please let us know prior to the start of the tour so we can prepare accordingly.

Is this tour suitable for anyone?

As the trip up the mountain can be bumpy, we don’t recommend to join if you are pregnant, over 70 or someone with existing health conditions. We don’t allow children under 2 on this tour for the exact same reason.

When is it possible to swim at Namuang waterfall?

If you wish to swim at the waterfalls, please bring a swimsuit and a towel. The conditions for swimming are usually the best during or after the rainy season (october-january) and the worst in the hot season (march-may). It will never be completely dry, but keep in mind that the water level may be lower during the hot season.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel your booking for free up until 24 hours in advance of the tour start date, no questions asked. We’ll refund you the deposit or you can choose to use it as an advance to a different booking or tour.

We had so much fun today with guide Eek and the driver. Water fights, lots to see and just a lovely day! Thansk so much!

Booked this trip by myself as the private one was a bit too expensive. I joined a nice group of around 15 persons in 2 different jeeps. You’ll get to see places you normally wouldn’t especially high up in the hills. Fot that this tour is worth booking.
