One of the best hotels in Hawaii for families , Turtle Bay Resort is a slice of pristine paradise on the North Shore of O‘ahu. My best friend recently went with her daughters, who especially enjoyed Kariel's Mermaid Academy. All the rooms have ocean views, and most also feature a lanai or balcony, which is particularly nice to use while little ones nap. For families seeking even more exclusivity, there are 42 ocean bungalows steps from the sand.

The Ritz-Carlton, Naples, is a longtime family favorite. Thanks to a $100-million renovation, the five-star resort on beautiful Vanderbilt Beach has even more guests of all ages to love. According to T+L editor-in-chief Jacqui Gifford, the refurbished property “feels like a relaxed country club” with a game lawn, kid-centric sign-up activities like stuffed animal-making, and a made-to-order guacamole cart. Add to that water sports and serviced beachside cabanas. The new air-conditioned poolside bungalows are ideal for mid-day naps or a break from the sun (and maybe an episode of Bluey on the flat-screen TV). Rooms with balconies and ocean views wow. Book one of the accommodations in the new Vanderbilt Tower for access to food, drinks, and the kid's play area in the largest club lounge in North America.

Admittedly, I visited The Lodge at Blue Sky, Auberge Resorts Collection — a repeat winner in our World’s Best Awards — solo while pregnant with our second baby. But the entire time, I kept saying I wanted to return with Miles. I thought of him whenever I saw smiling kids running up the gravel paths on a nature scavenger hunt, swimming in the pool, or coloring and eating burgers on the outdoor restaurant terrace. The spacious, contemporary Earth Suites mean families have plenty of stylish space to spread out. And the outdoor fire pits are perfect for roasting s’mores. For animal lovers, there’s a 30,000-square-foot indoor equestrian center and a horse rescue sanctuary. Older adventurers can do e-biking and axe throwing. It’s also super cool to take kids to Gracie's Farm to learn about organic agriculture.

Park City is one of my absolute favorite shoulder season destinations . This past fall, we brought Miles to Montage Deer Valley and discovered it to be ideal for families. The luxury mountain resort and 2023 World’s Best Awards winner offers activities like archery lessons and snow tubing, a pub with arcade games and a bowling alley, a kids club, and direct access to hiking paths and groomed slopes. Our toddler had a blast playing with the canine ambassador, and I’ll never forget the glee on his face when he saw the adorable in-suite camping setup. Thanks to indoor and outdoor pools, guests can swim year-round, and adults will love the serene oasis of a 35,000-square-foot spa. Active types can rely on Compass Sports to take the guesswork out of adventuring with gear rentals and lift tickets, and the nightly s’mores around the fire is a sweet way to end the end.

Ojai Valley Inn

Unique and engaging programming, including private golf and tennis lessons.

Camp Oak doesn’t accept kids under four years old, and many activities cost extra.

Even though then-11-month-old Miles was too young to join in on the fun at Camp Oaks during our Ojai Valley Inn stay, the offerings — which include arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, and science experiments — are sure to delight young guests (ages 4 to 12) during the day and weekend night sessions. I watched little swimmers playing with noodles and paddling around in the Pixie Pool before digging into a plate of delicious-looking chicken fingers and fries. The artist cottage and apothecary hosts daily craft hours to make soaps, terrariums, tie-dye, and more. Horseback riding, tennis clinics, in-room game night baskets, s’mores, and events like face painting and balloon twisting mean even more opportunities for family bonding. The adults-only pool, spa, and championship golf course are great spots for parents to escape.

Decide what kind of vacation you want..

From the mountains of Colorado to the beaches of Hawaii, the United States is massive and filled with diverse scenery. Equally varied are the types of family holidays available to travelers. Do you prefer lounging by a sun-splashed pool? Perhaps an alpine escape steeped in rugged adventure is more your speed? Maybe it’s the thrill of adrenaline-pumping rides and snapping photos with costumed characters?

Consider travel time and logistics.

Traveling with kids can be stressful — especially regarding red eyes, changing planes, and tight connections. The more logistics, the greater the chance that someone might have a meltdown (and I’m not just talking about little ones). Depending on your kids' ages and jet-setting experience, it might be more feasible to hop on a long-haul plane to Hawaii. Some parents (and kids) do better with jet lag than others, so the time difference is also something to consider. It’s also essential to think about logistics on the ground. Do you need to rent a car? What’s public transportation like? Does the resort provide a shuttle service to and from the airport? 

Be mindful of budget.

Many luxury resorts (with price tags to match) do a phenomenal job of catering to families. But there are plenty of more wallet-friendly options as well. You can also save money by skipping peak periods like summer vacation and winter break and visiting during the off-season.

15 Tips to Make Traveling With Family More Fun & Less Stressful

Traveling with your brood is the time to make memories. Sure, you will encounter moments where you start to question why you ever leave the house in the first place, but ideally you should enjoy the experience as much as your children. Smart and useful family travel tips can make all the difference between a grueling and exhaustive excursion and a wonderful, relaxing getaway.

For Expert Family Travel Advice: Go Straight to the Source

For medical advice, you seek out a doctor. For educational advice, you turn to teachers. For family travel advice, head straight for the moms. They are the experts who know what works and what doesn't when it comes to setting out on adventures with kids in tow. They have tried it all, discovered the best family travel hacks, and have zero qualms about sharing their experiences with other moms ready to embark on trips with kiddos.

Debbie Dubrow is one of those "traveling moms" who has spent much of her children's lives packing up suitcases, loading up kids, and setting out to see the world. The Seattle-based mother of three shares her personal travel stories and best family travel tips with other parents ready to hit the road on her blog, Delicious Baby .

Beginner Traveler? Start Small

If you are new to the idea of traveling with children, Dubrow suggests you start small. Take your family on a smaller, local day trip and test drive your tips and hacks while being close enough to home to pull the trigger and abort the mission if necessary. Don't become discouraged if your first few local expeditions are a flop. Reflect on what worked and what didn't, make adjustments and try it again! A few trips to nearby locales will help build your confidence so you can easily transition into bigger getaways soon enough. Dubrow offers, "Most parents are pleasantly surprised to find that their worst-case-scenarios don't come true, and that they even enjoy the experience."

Pay Extra Attention to Planning

Once upon a time, you packed a bag, bought a plane ticket on the fly, and ventured out to see the world. Now that you have kids, and kids have needs, and spontaneity is as distant a memory as sleep is, you'll want to spend extra time in the planning stages of the trip . The more work you put in on the front end, the less thinking you will have to do once vacation begins.

Work Within a Budget

Vacationing with kids can get pricey, so work within a previously agreed-upon budget when planning your next getaway. Letting expenses get away from you will instantly create stress, so staying in the anticipated price range will make it easier for you to relax and enjoy. Anticipate and plan for a few unexpected expenses too.

Spend Time Scoring the Right Accommodations

There are plenty of ways to cut corners and save a dollar during travel, but if you are vacationing with several children or young children, your lodging accommodations should not be one of them. Your days will be long and action-packed, so your home base needs to be a space of reprieve, your little temporary sanctuary.

Find a family-friendly hotel or rented home that fits most of your family's needs. If you are traveling somewhere hot, be sure there is air conditioning or working fans in your accommodation. If you will need to do laundry, check and see if those facilities are on property or nearby. Look into whether the room or rental is baby-proofed and whether it has a mini-fridge and microwave for all of those snacking needs.

It is a good idea to make a room "wish list" and then scour the net and read reviews to see which accommodation best suits you (and your budget!). There will undoubtedly be a few accommodation must-haves when traveling with children that you don't want to compromise on. Know what they are and make sure they are available to you before booking.

Adjust Your Travel Pace

Another tip Dubrow emphasizes to parents taking the travel plunge is to adjust the travel pace to best suit their children. Kids find joy in the most minor of details, so allow them to experience these travel days at their leisure. You might be used to packing in eight to ten hours of sights in a big city, but should you try to apply the vacationing pace of yesteryear to travel with kids, you are likely going to fizzle out fast. Dubrow elaborates, "Avoid trying to go at the same pace you did before you had children. Slow down and give your baby or toddler time to enjoy things at their level. They might be looking at the marble floors in the Vatican instead of the arches and artwork, and that is OK."

Decide beforehand what you really want to do with the kids. Think about if it will be of interest to them and if they will be able to make it through whatever it is you are hoping to do on vacation. Build in plenty of snack breaks or a mid-day siesta or rest period, so children don't become overly tired, cranky, and downright miserable. Pack your patience-pants, as this new, slower pace of seeing the world might be a bit of an adjustment for you.

Load Up on Water and Snacks

Throughout her journeys, Dubrow discovered the power of snacks. Snacks can pretty much fix anything at a moment's notice, and you don't want to be without them. Pack items that are easy to eat while on the go and make sure they aren't loaded with sugar. Choose grain or protein-based items to give kids energy without the dreaded sugar crash looming ahead. She also reminds parents that airplanes no longer provide the delectables of days past. Small snacks and beverages are typically offered, but if you have picky eaters or children with specific dietary needs, pack plenty of your own nibbles for a lengthy flight.

Get Travel Paperwork in Order

If you are flying or planning to leave your home country, be sure that all pertinent travel documents are ready and in order. Large families mean lots of passports, boarding passes and more. Sort and organize what you can. Place a small sticky note with family members' initials on the back of all passports and slip boarding passes into them. Place a rubber band around each travel packet, so when a name is called upon, you can quickly grab the documents you need in the moment.

For families needing to get passports , be sure that you do so well ahead of time to receive them before you leave for your trip. Obtaining passports can be tedious, and nothing will ruin a family vacation faster than one family member being left without proper travel documentation.

Make Emergency Plans

When it comes to vacation, you want to think about lounging around a pool or hiking through breathtaking forests... not about losing track of your kid! Not being able to locate your child is every parent's worst nightmare, and while it is something you don't even want to contemplate, it is best to have a plan in place for this type of emergency. Sit your kids down and discuss the plan for if someone becomes lost or strays from the group during travel. Older kids should have the means to contact parents, or at the very least know their parents' phone numbers. Write parents' names, kids' names, and contact numbers inside a shoe for little children. Be sure everyone understands how to get help in the event that they find themselves alone in a foreign space.

Be Prepared for Every Eventuality When Flying With Kids

Imagine being stuffed in a small airplane with a crying child who is bored to tears or covered head to toe in apple juice (or worse) and still having several hours of air travel to go. That's the stuff nightmares are made of, and a bit of thought and preparation in this department can make all the difference. Aside from packing drinks and snacks on a flight, be sure to pack several entertainment options for kids. Great ideas are:

• Coloring books and crayons
• Electronic devices
• Games galore - both word games and paper games
• Downloaded movies and shows
• Comfort toys

Aside from entertainment options, you will want to pack a change of clothes in your carry-on. The only thing worse than having a kid get sick or have an accident while flying the friendly skies is having nothing to change them into. Toss the following into your carry-on so you are never left high and dry (or rather high and soaking wet).

• Extra undies, pants, and shirt
• Lots of disinfectant wipes and a small towel
• Pajamas if you are traveling long distances through the night
• A plastic, sealable bag for soiled clothing
• Remember to pack a first aid kit and a car seat for plane and car travel

Be a Perfect Packer

Packing for a fun family trip comes with a bit of a learning curve unless you know how to do it properly right out of the gate! Parents tend to pack in one of two ways: overpacking and underpacking. They either take along everything they can think of and then curse themselves throughout the entire trip for spending more time acting as a family pack mule than enjoying a well-deserved vacation, or they bring next to nothing and spend more time scouring the earth for those forgotten necessities than they do relaxing.

You want to strike a packing balance. Try making a list of things you need several weeks before you depart. Next, revisit your list and remove items you think you can live without. Add a few new items that you skipped over the first time around. Consider what items your accommodations might have readily available. Many rental spaces have cribs, cots, and even high chairs for families to borrow, meaning you don't have to lug that stuff with you. If your accommodations have easily accessible laundry facilities, then pack half the clothes you originally planned on taking and spend a few hours mid-vacation doing laundry (maybe while the tots take an afternoon nap).

Know When to Schedule Flight Times

If you are flying with little ones, you might want to schedule your flight during nap time or during the evening hours. This is particularly important if you have a long journey ahead of you. A few hours of snooze time can make all the difference to a family stuck in the air for several hours. Furthermore, pay attention to your layover times. It is much harder to rush through a busy airport to catch a connecting flight with three kids, two strollers, and several carry-on bags in hand.

Be Flexible and Realistic

Planning is a beautiful thing, but so is flexibility. Again, balance is the key to travel happiness, especially when kids are involved. Yes, you want the major details hammered out before you take off for fun and adventure, but you also need to remember that things happen, plans unravel, and you need to be able to pivot, recover and carry on. Expect some bumps in the road, know when to make alterations in vacation plans to suit everyone's needs, and let go of any preconceived notions that every minute of the trip will be downright magical.

Don't Forego Routine

Sure, this is vacation, and routines will vary simply due to the nature of the beast, but travel doesn't have to mean nixing all routines and structure. Kids thrive on the routines you have created for them. They help keep them safe and healthy. While plenty of routine aspects will shift during travel, keep the ones you can in place. Try to eat and sleep near the times you would typically eat and sleep at home. If you do a daily rest or nap time, see if you can swing that same routine while vacationing. If you throw the kids completely out of whack, you will soon learn that a no-rules vacation is a no-fun vacation for parents.

Establish Spending Rules Pre-Vacation

Rules. Kids don't love them, but they are necessary on so many levels. Traveling with kids means taking the littles past countless souvenir and trinket stations and stores. Get ready for your children to beg you for every little, shiny piece of whatever catches their eye. They will cry and whine for everything they see; you will stress and maybe cry a little too as you attempt to stay calm while explaining that no, they cannot have another Beanie Boo.

Set rules for souvenirs ahead of time. Maybe they get one small thing at the airport and one thing at your vacation destination. Maybe you give each kid an allotted amount of spending money and how and where they spend it is up to them. Make rules that work for your children and your budget, and be sure everyone understands those rules ahead of vacation to minimize the stress that comes along with kids begging for everything.

Don't Put Off Travel Plans

Lastly, don't put off your travel plans because you are afraid of failure. Yes, everyone will be older and wiser in a few years, but life happens, circumstances constantly change, and you never know if this travel opportunity will circle back around. Take those vacations with the little kids or the angsty teens. Make the memories, spend the money, and know that the kids won't be kids forever. Remember, parts of your vacation may flop, but other parts will be amazing. In the end, you will likely be so glad you went for it and traveled with your kids.

Travel is all about the adventure of life and being together in a wonderful new time and space. Use tips to reduce stress, but know that the greatest advice you can receive is to be in the moment and try to enjoy your family vacation no matter what. Kids won't remember every detail of every vacation they took during their childhood, but they'll treasure the memories of how they felt spending time together as a family in a fun-filled environment.

How a Philippines trip — and many memorable meals — redefined home

“Get ready to eat!”

That’s what my mother told me in late 2022 when I learned my parents and I would be traveling to the Philippines. Before our trip this February, my parents hadn’t set foot in their home country for 25 years. I had never visited.

I was born less than two months after they immigrated to Kent, in 1998. I grew up a quintessential American kid in the Pacific Northwest, riding my bike along the Green River. In eighth grade, I skipped school and braved freezing temperatures to watch the Seahawks Super Bowl parade with my father in downtown Seattle. 

At the same time, I also grew up in a tightknit Filipino American community. Most of my elementary school friends were Filipino too, and we would eat the home cooked chicken adobo and other dishes our parents made for countless birthdays and Christmas parties. I learned Tagalog phrases by watching soap operas with my mom. 

When my friends visited the Philippines with their families and returned with stories of all the memories they’d made, I was happy for them. But I was also jealous that they had completed this cultural rite of passage. When I’d ask my parents if we’d travel there someday, they’d say it wasn’t the right time, or cite difficulties to afford the trip. 

I’d spent my life walking the line of my Filipino American identity, but never visited the nation where my parents were born and raised. In some ways, I felt shame burn in the back of my mind, as if I had somehow turned my back on my Filipino heritage.

To me, the Philippines was always a land across the sea, seen only through old family photos and TV shows. To my friends, it was familiar. 

Before my family packed for our trip, I couldn’t help but wonder: What took me so long? Am I — a woman in her 20s whose Tagalog has slowly dwindled to barely conversational phrases — worthy enough to visit my homeland?

I may never know why it took me this long, but I knew I had to let go of my insecurities and simply come as the most authentic version of myself. This trip was a chance to ascribe my own meaning to the places in the family photos and the culture that influenced my upbringing.

In February, I embarked on a journey to the homeland I had never visited, hoping to discover what it meant to call a place home. 

Across the Pacific

The Philippines, an archipelago of over 7,600 islands, is a 14-hour flight from the West Coast. White sand beaches and tropical forests sprawl across the islands, so different from the Pacific Northwest’s rocky beaches and temperate woodlands. 

My mother, an airline accountant by day and travel logistics mastermind by night, scoured the internet for the best travel packages and accommodations she could find. While we would eventually visit family and friends in Manila, she made sure all three of us would visit places we’d never seen.

Although we weren’t an outdoorsy family, we spent hours exploring islands and swimming in the Philippine Sea’s turquoise waters. We ended up off the coast of El Nido, Palawan, island-hopping aboard an outrigger canoe-style bangka, despite my penchant for seasickness. In a single day, we visited four different islands, explored a cavernous limestone cave and saw turtles while snorkeling. 

From El Nido, we journeyed to Bohol, home of the famous Chocolate Hills (their decadent name comes from the grass-covered hills turning brown during the dry season, not from the presence of actual chocolate). My dad and I braved several flights of stairs to make it to the observatory deck, where we watched the sun set over the green hills that spread out in every direction as far as the eye could see. 

“I would say it’s inner peace,” my mom said of the views of her homeland. “We can never experience that [feeling of familiarity] in the U.S. Just the sound of the ocean reminds me that this is where I came from.”

The beauty of nature was one thing to witness firsthand, but it was the generosity of the local guides on our island tours that stuck with me. Many guides spent years as fishermen before switching to the tourism industry. With the sea breeze ruffling their hair as they hopped around the bangka as easily as if they were on land, they told us stories, cooked three-course meals on the boat and played beach volleyball with us. By the end of the tour, they felt like family.

My parents called it the concept of “maasikaso,” or being attentive to others. They’d always said Filipinos were well-known for their generosity, but spending the day with our guides showed me firsthand what it means to take pride in serving others. 

When we journeyed to Manila to meet family and friends, all were eager to treat us to their favorite restaurants around town. Although the city was new to me, the food was deeply familiar. Between shopping for Filipino groceries at Seafood City in Tukwila and making trips to Jollibee (a fast-food chain more popular than McDonald’s in the Philippines), eating meals with loved ones, especially from my culture, has always been key to forming my sense of community. 

On our trip, my mom’s side of the family brought us to a Max’s Restaurant in Quezon City and ordered nearly everything on the menu, including the very same fried chicken, crispy pata (deep fried pork knuckles) and kare kare (a savory peanut sauce stew) that I grew up eating at the beloved chain’s location back home in Washington . Though I had just met these family members, we spent several hours exchanging stories and bonding over these comforting dishes that tasted like my home, too. 

Better than the pictures

One of my favorite childhood pastimes was watching my parents’ wedding video, which I played on our family VCR in the days before DVDs and online streaming. I watched my mom, dressed in white and holding a cascading bouquet of pink lilies, walk down the aisle of a dimly lit church. Near the altar, my dad waits for her dressed in a white barong, the traditional formalwear for Filipino men. 

My parents, both Catholic, met in the ’80s in a small church just outside of Manila. At a church luau, my dad took one look at my mom in her floral Hawaiian dress and “fell in love with me right then,” she said. In 1995, they married in the heart of Manila at San Sebastian Basilica, a majestic 19th-century steel structure with spires rising over 100 feet in the air. When my parents asked me what I wanted to see during our trip, I only had one request: to see that church with my own eyes. Nothing prepared me for the sense of awe I felt, standing on the black-and-white tiles of the aisle my mother walked down all those years ago. My mom was 27 when she married, just two years older than I am now. At 30, she was seven months pregnant, flying across the world to move to a country she had never even visited, with only my father and a few suitcases at her side. 

Initially, my father did not want to move to the United States, even though his father, already living in Houston, sponsored a petition for him and my mother. My father was satisfied with his government job in the Philippines, saying his master’s degree in economics would hold more value there than in America. He and his wife had a house, a car, friends and family. What more could he ask for?

It wasn’t until my father drove past the U.S. Embassy in Manila one day and saw a line of people long enough to circle the building three times that he understood. All of them were waiting for the same sponsorship opportunity my father already had. My mom convinced him to change his mind, persuading him that moving to the U.S. would give their unborn child better education and career opportunities. 

Ten years after immigrating, my parents passed their naturalization tests with flying colors. I remember holding onto my mother, a small American flag in my other hand, as she and my father took the oath of allegiance as new U.S. citizens, signifying that their life was here now, and they were committed to building their version of the American dream. 

“I made the right decision,” my father said to me recently. “To leave my personal preference [behind] and immigrate here to America, even though it was tough and we had to start our lives all over again. You’ve got a good quality of life now.”

All I could do was nod solemnly and thank him for the sacrifices he and my mother made for me. As if sensing my sobriety, he smiled and put his arm around my mother, seated beside him.

“You might be living an American life, but you’re still a Filipino. Your culture is not going to go away,” my father said. “You can become a U.S. citizen, but in heart and mind, you’re still a Filipino.”

“Kapatids”

When my parents immigrated to Washington from Manila over 25 years ago, they left behind friends, family and the only life they had known. Watching them reconnect with loved ones in the Philippines as if no time had passed showed me glimpses of their younger selves, and perhaps the life I would have lived if I had been raised in the Philippines. 

On one of the last days of our trip, my father met with two childhood “kapatids” (the Filipino word for “friends”) Joey O’Santos and Raymond Roasles, in Tagaytay, a province a couple of hours south of Manila. Although I’d never met them, they were my “ninongs,” or godfathers. The three of them laughed and joked, reciting a toast they made up in school. It was like no time passed at all. 

When I met my ninongs’ kids, one asked if I’d like to go barhopping with them later that night. Excited to experience Manila’s vibrant nightlife (and perhaps spend some time with people my own age), I eagerly accepted. My last few hours in Manila were spent dancing the night away with my newfound friends, creating new memories like the ones our fathers did so many years ago. 

Perhaps it wasn’t until that last night that I truly felt like I belonged in my homeland. That night of dancing was only possible because of the roots my parents had grown over the decades of their lifetimes, in the Philippines and America. 

Three months ago, I thought this homecoming would be a rite of passage, one that would prove I was Filipino enough.

But by the time my family packed our suitcases, many full of “pasalubong” (souvenirs) for our loved ones back in Seattle, I was the same me who navigates life as both the quintessential American and the daughter of Filipino immigrants. Perhaps sharing meals with my family and walking through the clear waters of the Philippine Sea simply allowed me to see the parts of me that had always been there, and how they can continue to flourish. 

I knew I would come back to Seattle and share my new memories with friends. Instead of using those experiences to absolve any guilt or doubt over my heritage, they only made me feel pride and joy in my multifaceted identity.

It took 25 years for my parents to return home and for me to set foot in their homeland for the first time. I watched the sun set over Manila Bay outside of my plane window, looking forward to returning to Seattle and the place I called home for my entire life. But now I had a new place that felt like home, one that I can’t wait to see again.

Prince William Gives Rare Update on Kate Middleton's Health

The Princess of Wales publicly shared her cancer diagnosis just over a month ago.

"We hope that you will understand that, as a family, we now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment," the Princess of Wales said in a moving video message . "My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now I must focus on making a full recovery."

After the news broke, the Wales family retreated from the public eye as their three children— Prince George , Princess Charlotte , and Prince Louis —had Easter break. Once the holiday ended, Prince William resumed public duties . And yesterday, while visiting James Place Newcastle in Tyne, England, he responded to well-wishers asking about his wife and children. "All doing well," he said, a rare update on Kate's health.

Kate: Grace Under Pressure

Since Kate's abdominal surgery in January , William has kept to a policy of not really commenting on Kate's health, which is in line with Kensington Palace not offering ongoing updates on the Princess of Wales.

Shortly after Kate revealed her cancer diagnosis, a Kensington Palace spokesperson said , "The Prince and Princess are both enormously touched by the kind messages from people here in the UK, across the Commonwealth and around the world in response to Her Royal Highness' message. They are extremely moved by the public's warmth and support and are grateful for the understanding of their request for privacy at this time."

Bought these cause I have the lebron two different colored shoes. I went a half size up but they are just so tight in the toe box that I couldn’t stand wearing them. Hardly any cushioning at all. Just didn’t like the overall look and shape of the shoe. Don’t know why Nikes are running so small. ...

Went through many reviews for this one as I was stuck going TTS vs .5 up. Since my intent was to use these for working out and pickleball I went TTS and am glad I did so. As a wide footer these do fit really snug, but more like a compression sleeve feel than as being “tight”. My pinky toe usually gets destroyed, but not at all with these. Reviews called out the big toe positioning of the shoe to be off, but in my case it fit 1:1 without discomfort in those areas. No slip at all and very comfortable for exercising in. If you are going to casually use these maybe .5 up but if I ever bought again I’d stay TTS regardless. I’ve been on a pickleball shoe hunt that’s got some style and finesse to it so from using Jordan 1s, Jordan Legacy 312, Air Maxes, Jordan 2s, Kobe 9s, Lebron 10s/14s, and lastly Ja 1s, surprisingly these Ja 1s won above all as my new primary for pickleball! ...
