Korn Announces New Slate of U.S. Tour Dates This Spring in Support of Upcoming Album 'Requiem'

The nu metal rockers will hit 19 cities with Chevelle and Code Orange

will korn go on tour in 2023

Korn is hitting the road.

The nu metal rockers announced a slew of U.S. tour dates that they'll play in March and April in support of their forthcoming album Requiem , which comes out on Feb. 4.

Jonathan Davis, 50, James "Munky" Shaffer, 51, Brian "Head" Welch, 51, and Ray Luzier, 51 will play 19 cities across the country, starting in Springfield, Missouri on March 4 and ending on April 1 in Wichita, Kansas. They'll be joined by Chevelle and Code Orange.

The new dates come in addition to a series of four shows they'll play on the West Coast with System of a Down in late January and early February. After the U.S. tour wraps, they'll head to Europe for a series of shows stretching from late May to early July.

Korn has faced several COVID-related setbacks over the last year; in October, drummer Luzier missed a handful of shows following a positive COVID test, making him the third band member to contract the virus in three months.

His positive test came after frontman Davis tested positive in August, prompting the band to reschedule six tour dates and cancel two, and guitarist Shaffer did so in September.

In a video shared to Instagram on Aug. 29, Korn guitarist Welch detailed the toll that COVID had taken on Davis.

"Jonathan Davis is still struggling with the COVID after-effects," Welch said. "He's physically weak and having a mental battle and any type of love, light and energy you can throw at him – prayers, all of it. We have shows coming up, so all of you guys check the dates – whatever show you're going to, throw him some love and energy man. He needs you more than ever."

General on-sale tickets will go on sale Friday at 9 a.m. local time here.

Coming out of California, USA, Korn are one of the most influential bands of the past thirty years. Since forming in 1993, they effectively created the genre of Nu-Metal and are one of the biggest heavy metal bands in the world to this day.

The band was formed out of three members of the experimental thrash metal band L.A.P.D. When that band broke up the remaining members, or at least the ones still talking to each other, drafted in vocalist Jonathan Davis and guitarist Brian “Head” Welch and heavy metal history was made.

They instantly made a splash, legend has it that they even drew a crowd outside the studio they recorded their demo tapes in, since their music was so thrillingly different to anything being released at the time.

By 1994 they’d released their self titled debut album, which remains one of the most influential rock albums of the 1990’s and has sold 10 million copies in the years since. This is especially astounding considering that in terms of lyrical content and musical style, Korn were up their with Nirvana in terms of sheer darkness.

The music can get very difficult to listen to at points, with Davis bravely opening up about childhood traumas with unflinching honesty, all the while backed with Welch’s dissonant, wrenching guitar riffs. With that in mind, their astronomic sales and influence becomes a testament to their ability to connect with the lost and distraught more than anything else, and if that’s not a truly inspiring thing then I don’t know what is.

Korn might not be the most critically acclaimed band around but the figures and the fans speak for themselves, and no matter what Pitchfork might think, they speak louder than anything else in the world of rock and roll.

Live reviews

Korn: a full circle experience, crop or otherwise and on beyond! When I first saw Korn my husband suggested going to their concert back in 1998. Neither one of us knew much about them or their music at the time and what I knew did not make me feel stoked about going at the time other than to keep Steve company. I was certain I would be bored to death and how happy I am to say how wrong I was! I did a complete about face within the course of one night and now want to see them every time they come to our area. Up to now we have seen them about thirteen times all told as well as singer Jonathan Davis on his solo tour when I won our way in to it with a meet and greet! Davis knows how to work the crowd encouraging audience participation. Not only that, but I enjoy his soulfulness and expression and how his voice alternates between singing, whispering and shouting during different songs and moments. His bag piping intro to "Shoots and Ladders" is one part of any given concert of theirs I look forward to at the concerts. As we have been to their concerts on and off over the years, we have seen them in different forms with a couple members coming and going over the years, one of whom returned to the band within the last year. Before his departure after the first seven albums drummer David Silveria provided the band with his funky back beat and style. After he resigned from the band Davis whose main instrument was originally drums, contributed in that department along with tapping Terry Bozzio from new wave band Missing Persons for Korn's 2007 album "Untitled." While on the road Korn borrowed now-former Slipknot's Joey Jordison whose thrashy, cacophonous sound provided the perfect rhythm.

In 2008 Korn searched for a new permanent drummer during which former Army of Anyone's Ray Luzier auditioned and was subsequently hired after nailing multiple drum solos from their repertoire. With Korn's constant shape shifting of their brand of nu metal over the years, Ray with his highly versatile style was and is the perfect match for them. Bassist Reggie "Fieldy" Arvizu with his slap bass technique has said that he regards himself as a second percussionist within the band, thus complimenting Ray's drumming. Furthermore I get a kick out of how Fieldy sometimes seems to dance as he's playing, as if he were doing the cha-cha!

Prior to leaving in 2004 and later rejoining the band in 2013, Brian "Head" Welch was one half of the guitar section along with James "Munky" Shaffer. In 2004 Welch left the band to raise his daughter during which time he also became a Christian. Throughout those interim years Korn experimented with other styles and sub styles including dub step and Shaffer expertly played both guitar parts on recordings and the road, although Korn also used hired guns in both areas to play the second guitar part at times. When listening both in concert and to albums from different points in their career, though, one notices that the guitar passages are more nuanced with two in the lineup. Furthermore, diehard fans across the board welcomed Welch back with thunderous applause and loud cheers when I saw Korn last year. Through the years at every concert I have attended Korn have always delivered the goods whilst firing on all cylinders. In addition to amazing props and backdrops used show by show, they put slightly different spins on their performances whether they are in a smaller venue with a more intimate setting or a bigger arena where getting caught up in the hoopla becomes highly infectious! It is interesting to note as well that Davis does not tend to chat up the audience to a high degree; rather the band segue their way into songs one by one all but nonstop. And nothing could be better than a meet/greet opportunity with the band to make for a grand night out!

The first time I saw Korn was at Slipknot's Prepare for Hell Tour in January 2015. Unfortunately, I'd arrived late for the first band but made it in time just as they walked off stage and twenty minutes later, the Kings of nu-metal took over the stage. I'd been getting into Korn a few months before, and we honestly more excited to see them than Slipknot - and they didn't fail to disappoint, blaring out all their hits for 40 minutes. I remember wanting/needing to see them at a full concert and a few weeks later, I was giving the opportunity to see them again at Brixton. I snatched the tickets up and counted the days down until they day arrived.

And arrived it did.

We arrived an hour before the doors opened, and the que was already bending round the corner of the building. Finally, an hour and 10 minutes over the opening time later, we were allowed inside.

My friend and I were in the unreserved seating. As soon as we cleared through all the checkpoints, we made our way to the front, climbing over rows. Three rows from the front, we found our seat with a good birds eye view of the stage. We waited with anticipation through the first two starter bands, eager for the main event to start. Finally, and after a few teasers, Ray Luzier came on stage to start of the night with Blind. The crowd cheered, and adrenaline pumped through everyone's veins as Fiedly appeared on the bass. Finally, the three words growled out from Davis's mouth "Are you ready?" and the unforgettable night begun.

Korn blasted their way though their first debut album, released 20 years ago and tonight was all about celebrating the release of an album that changed the world. Every note was perfect, and Davis's voice boomed through the speakers and pierced through our souls. The album ended with the emotional 'Daddy' before Davis slammed the microphone down; walking off the stage. The lights dimmed and everyone cheered and clapped.

A minute later, the iconic microphone was brought on stage and the band reappeared to play us two hits (Falling Away From Me and Here To Stay) before ending the night out with Freak On A Leash.

Out of 10, I'd give this concert a 1,000. One of the best bands I've seen live to date, and it defiantly won't be my last.

I went to KoRn with my dad. I promised him every time KoRn plays in the Netherlands we would go.

So I was happy I found out they were playing in Utrecht. I go to school there so I knew it wasn't that far away.

This was my first time in TivoliVredenburg. I read some bad things about the service. So I was a bit worried.

The service was good! I've never been treated so good as a person in a wheelchair. They helped with everything!

So as we say in dutch: "petje af Tivoli!"

The band before KoRn wasn't that good. I actually hated it. There was a little moshpit, someone got hit, everything stopped.. boring..

Then KoRn started! It was a great opening, very intense..

They played some songs they didn't play for a long long time, like 4U. Of Course the bagpipe solo was amazing and Ray's solo as well!

The only thing I didn't like was seeing Jonathan Davis wearing an oxygen mask.. I don't know how he's feeling right now.. I Hope he's okay and is enjoying the rest of his tour!

KoRn thank you for the great show, this was really the best show I ever been to! (4th time)

My husband and I attended Korn's show, October11th in Tampa, Florida. They played for 2 electric hours and played songs they knew the fans would love to hear and they hit their mark. In the mix of their song set, they played 3 of their new songs from their upcoming album, The Serenity of Suffering due out October 21st and if that was a small taste of what's to come....our taste buds are sure to be satisfied for sure! This group has been together for over 20 years and they keep making amazing music. JD was clearly having as much fun on stage as we did as fans, dancing, interacting with the crowd and guitarist, Munky, Head and bass player Fieldy. Ray is a master on his massive drum set and I dare you to try and keep up with your eyes and his hands as he's pounding those skins. If your a true fan, you wait and hope to hear that first note of JD breathing air into his magical bagpipes, and as witnessed at last night show and shows of the past, it was no exception. Once you hear that first note from his pipes, there's only one thing you need to ask...Are You Ready!!!!

Seen Korn many times in the past. Thinking it's been 5+ times so far. I'm a big fan , no doubt, but each time the playing time has dwindled to 45 minutes and getting smaller. Granted they weren't headlining and Slipknot was, but still... The production and music was great, but its seems that ever since the old bass player came back they have been playing mostly songs off the first couple of albums. I definitely like those songs, don't get me wrong, but I think it would do them good to take some statistics from Spotify or the like and determine what the top 15 songs being listened to are. Also, I love loud music. Love it! BUT you will be deafened by this concert. For once I brought ear plugs and it saved me. Sounds stupid , but consider yourself warned. I mean the "Marshall stacks" and the speakers hanging on either side of the stage looked like arena side burns. Think they may be growing! ha!

Korn was Great as always ,I was kind of suprised that they place wasnt packed. The deadest Korn concert I have ever gone to.But it could be the Venue .Not the best venue in my opnion .One dont dare forget to get your ticket from your spouse or they wont let you back to your seat ..and 2 if you go out one way you wont be able to get back the same way necessarily like what happened to me.They wont let you. .Knotfest was packed and alot crazier then this place but I never got asked for my ticket to get back to my seat.Considering people were seat hoping all night anyways and they upgraded a bunch if not all the lawn area to seating ..Pretty damn dumb .I figure if I own a seat and someone sits in it.I just get it back .Pretty damn strict for a place that has never really been a popular venue and sure wasnt packed last night .

With their sound system and great instrumentation all locked into a great groove, Korn are better than they ever were before! As to any wild antics, the one that stood out that was unfortunately unfavourable entailed a nasty woman whom I called out after she attempted to shoehorn her way up to the front where I'd staked out a spot and then subsequently attacked my husband. Hiccups of that nature along with a moderate delay with no explanation nonetheless paid off, in particular with Jonathan Davis as he serenaded us on the bagpipes upon kicking off 'Shoots and Ladders'! Not only that but the pre-concert meet/greet was super as was a little recognition in the form of a point and smile from Munky Shaffer up front toward the end of the night!

Terrible show and a massive disappointment.

There were no warnings before entering the venue about use of strobe lights, and I didn't see any signs indicating use of strobe lights at all. As a result, I was caught off guard by the use of the strobes and felt sick for a couple of days afterwards.

The show itself used a lot of strong coloured lights to illuminate the stage too, which combined with the smoke machine, as someone who is colour blind meant that I could not see the stage for 80% of the show. The times I could, my eyes were hurting too much from the strobes to see anything.

So overall, it was a massive let down for a band I have wanted to see live for many years.

Korn is a teenage crush, and a trip to the good old years everytime I listen to them.

I saw them around 2005 in Portugal in a festival, and it was an amazing experience. Easily one of the heaviest concerts I've ever been, the mosh pit was insane if that's what you're looking for. The look of the band is great, with Jonathan's signature microphone, and with cages with dancer girls in, creating a really cool atmosphere.

Their music is as good live as it's on album, and their sound matured to be more eletronic and more new age, but for me this is still focused on getting back to the classics and listening to those really heavy songs they had, that made me in part who I am today.

antoniopratas’s profile image

Wow. What an amazing concert! The venue was decent (The Fillmore) but there is little seating available, so be aware.

As for Korn, it was the twentieth anniversary of their debut album and they played it in its entirety. There are some sound bites of out takes on the album that they included, as well. It was kinda cool because they replicated the album exactly as you hear it. After they went through that playlist, they did another 4 or 5 popular songs, so it wasn't just the album. You can search the set list online. Apparently it changes from concert to concert.

It was my second time to see Korn )first time as a headliner) and it was definitely worth it!

Korn are keeping their 30th anniversary celebration going throughout the fall, having just announced a massive run of North American tour dates that will feature big-time support from both Gojira and Spiritbox .

The Bakersfield greats were already set to honor their landmark 1994 self-titled debut with a now sold-out show at Los Angeles' BMO Stadium on October 5th, but today (March 26th) Korn revealed that this performance is now smack dab in the middle of a 25-date trek that heads from Tampa to St. Paul.

Better yet, the tour is a meeting of Grammy-nominated metal titans, with bombastic French veterans Gojira and Canadian-made nu-groovers Spiritbox set to join Korn the whole way through. As previously announced, the L.A. anniversary show is likewise booked to feature performances from Evanescence, Daron Malakian and Scars On Broadway, and Vended.

"Reflecting on 30 years of Korn fills me with such immense gratitude for our journey, the growth we've experienced, and the incredible bond we share with our fans," Korn frontman Jonathan Davis had previously said in a press statement.

Pro Tips When Buying Your Tickets

First, on the day of the presale or general onsale (whichever you prefer), login to your Ticketmaster account ( go to my account or sign in located on the upper right corner of the page ) at least 15 minutes ahead of the sale time. If you don’t have one,  create one now .

Be sure to add your billing info (aka credit card info) before jumping into the digital queue for a quick check-out. Once the presale starts, remain in the digital queue. Only use one browser window because using multiple browsers or devices and multiple accounts with the same phone number can result in errors. Trust, it’s happened to us before! Don’t refresh your page, do be patient, don’t leave your page, do get those tickets!

What To Do If Tickets Are Sold Out?

If tickets sell out, your other option is to buy them via online resellers like VividSeats or StubHub. When all else fails, we prefer these resell options because both offer a 100% Guarantee. You can also purchase resell tickets through Ticketmaster’s resell program. Just search for the concert or event you want to attend , and see if they have any resell tickets available. We recommend you compare the three options and find out which works best for you.

Alternatively, you can hit it old school style and show up at the concert when the box office opens and wish upon a star that they release more tickets, or hopefully, another concert-goer has an extra ticket to sell at face-value or even giveaway for free. Trust, this happens more often than not! We’ve given away many tickets to sold-out shows simply because our +1 couldn’t make it.

Also, more standard tickets are often released via Ticketmaster 1-3 days leading up to the show date. We’ve seen it with Beyonce , Taylor Swift , Arctic Monkeys and many more! It’s a secret gatekeeped by many, but if you’re reading this, now you know! So be sure to set your calendar notifications!

KORN changed the world with the release of their self-titled debut album in 1994. It was a record that would pioneer a genre, and blur others-leading into a larger cultural movement. Since forming, KORN has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide, collected two Grammys , toured the world countless times, and set many records in the process that will likely never be surpassed. KORN has continued to push the limits of the rock, alternative and metal genres, while remaining a pillar of influence for legions of fans, and generations of artists around the globe.

The level of KORN 's reach transcends accolades and platinum certifications. They are "a genuine movement in a way bands cannot be now," attests The Ringer . They represent a new archetype and radical innovation, their ability to transcend genre makes barriers seem irrelevant.

GOJIRA bend extremes to their whim, emerging as an entrancing enigma equally driven by intuition and intensity. Balancing metallic proficiency, primal grooves, and otherworldly melodies, the French quartet continue to facilitate heavy music's progression into the future by burning down all boundaries. As such, they've unassumingly risen to the forefront of the genre as quiet trailblazers. Thus far, they've earned three Grammy Award nominations and even claimed a coveted spot on Rolling Stone 's "100 Greatest Metal Albums Of All Time" with 2005's landmark "From Mars To Sirius" . Their catalog spans groundbreaking records such as "L'Enfant Sauvage" (2012), "Magma" (2016) and their most recent studio album "Fortitude" (2021). With restless creativity and infinite vision, GOJIRA always inspire thought, awaken passion, and incite catharsis as heavy music's most unconventional, yet undeniable force.

Courtney LaPlante 's journey with SPIRITBOX has been a whirlwind of unexpected twists, from their humble beginnings to becoming a breakout sensation in the metal scene, as seen in their recent collaborations and Grammy nomination. Their latest EP, "The Fear Of Fear" , delves into themes of existential struggle and self-discovery, showcasing the band's penchant for innovation and introspection. With each release, SPIRITBOX refuses to be confined to a single genre, embracing creative freedom and a commitment to personal growth. As they embark on the next chapter of their musical evolution, one thing is certain: the world of heavy music eagerly awaits their next move.

Metal band Korn to hit St. Paul’s Xcel Energy Center on 30th anniversary tour

M etal band Korn will celebrate 30 years in the business with a 25-city fall tour that ends Oct. 27 with a stop at St. Paul’s Xcel Energy Center.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday through Ticketmaster . Neither the promoter nor the venue announced prices. Citi cardholders have access to a presale that runs through 10 p.m. Thursday. Gojira and Spiritbox are also on the bill.

Guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer, bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu and drummer David Silveria formed Korn after the lead singer quit the trio’s previous band, L.A.P.D. Silveria recruited guitarist Brian “Head” Welch and vocalist Jonathan Davis to join what would become Korn. (The backward letter R in their logo was inspired by Toys R Us as several band members had previously worked for the retailer.)

Korn’s self-titled 1994 debut album set the tone for the band’s career, with lyrics about child abuse and bullying and a sound that fused metal and hip-hop. The group pioneered what would become known as nu metal, opening the doors for the likes of Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Kid Rock, Staind and Disturbed.

The singles “Got the Life” and “Freak on a Leash” from Korn’s third album, 1998’s “Follow the Leader,” broke through to mainstream audiences and Korn enjoyed a run for several years as one of the country’s biggest rock bands.

While they never again reached that peak of popularity, Korn has remained a staple of rock radio, most recently with “Start the Healing” and “Worst Is on Its Way” from the group’s 14th album “Requiem.”

Here are 5 things to know about the Korn Ferry Tour ahead of the 2023 season, which starts Sunday

The Korn Ferry Tour’s 33rd season gets going Sunday in the Bahamas. You read that right, the first event of the 2023 season starts on Sunday.

With the news season comes bigger purses, new tournaments, plenty of fresh faces and a chance at a PGA Tour card.

The Bahamas Great Exuma Classic at Sandals Emerald Bay features a new wave of golfers will look to earn their cards for the 2023-24 season.

“The ultimate proving ground, the Korn Ferry Tour continues to identify, prepare and transition golf’s next stars to compete on the PGA Tour,” PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan said in a release.

Here’s a look at things to know ahead of the Korn Ferry Tour’s 2023 season.

Interesting names

When looking at interesting names on the KFT for the 2023 season, there are plenty that stick out.

Akshay Bhatia, who won the season-opening event last year, finished 30th on the final points list. Before turning pro, he was a heralded junior and amateur star. He’ll look to build off last year.

Another name is Willie Mack III, who earned his Korn Ferry Tour status after getting through the final stage of Q-School. He was a star on the APGA Tour and has numerous mini tour victories, but he’s now one step closer to earning a PGA Tour card.

Norman Xiong, a former Haskins Award winner, won the Wichita Open last year at 26 under, the second-lowest score in KFT history. He’s got full status this year and will look to find his spark again.

Chris Gotterup, the reigning Haskins Award winner, tied for seventh at the PGA Tour’s Puerto Rico Open and had a dominating senior season at Oklahoma last year. He’s primed for a stellar season.

A look at the schedule/new events

Victoria National Golf Course in Newburgh, Indiana.

There are 26 tournaments scheduled across 18 states and five countries for the 2023 Korn Ferry Tour season. The Korn Ferry Tour Championship will conclude in October.

Including stops in the Bahamas, Panama, Columbia and a new one in Chile, Korn Ferry Tour pros will get to travel plenty.

The Astara Chile Classic is the first new event in Santiago, scheduled for March 30-April 2. Then comes the Compliance Solutions Championship at Jimmie Austin Golf Club in Norman, Oklahoma, from June 22-25. Then, the final week before the four-event Korn Ferry Tour Finals is the Magnit Championship at Metedeconk National Golf Club in Jackson Township, New Jersey.

Purse increases

Speaking of new tournaments, players will be competing for more prize money this year.

In 2023, Korn Ferry Tour members will compete for $28 million in total prize money, marking the highest purse in Tour history and a 37.6 percent increase from the previous season ($20.35 million in 2022).

When founded in 1990 as the Ben Hogan Tour (1990-92), the Korn Ferry Tour featured a total purse of $3 million across 30 total events, averaging $100,000 per tournament.

Championship schedule

The four-event Korn Ferry Tour Finals will begin Aug. 24-27 at the Albertsons Boise Open presented. Then, players will head to an added event, the Simmons Bank Open for the Snedeker Foundation at The Grove in College Grove, Tennessee, from Sept. 14-17.

The penultimate event is the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship at Ohio State Golf Club’s Scarlet Course from Sept. 21-24. Two weeks later, the finals conclude at Korn Ferry Tour Championship at Victoria National Golf Club in Newburgh, Indiana, from Oct. 5-8.

The fields will go from 156-144-120-75.

Who earns PGA Tour cards?

The revamped Korn Ferry Tour Finals – which previously referred to the final three events of the season where the top 75 on the Korn Ferry Tour and Nos. 126-200 in the FedEx Cup standings competed for 25 Tour cards – now refers to the final four events of the season, where Korn Ferry Tour members will compete for increased purses ($1.5 million) and points allocations, while field sizes will be reduced similar to the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup Playoffs.

In 2023, the Korn Ferry Tour will no longer have a separate points list for the regular season and the Korn Ferry Tour Finals; the 26-event schedule will have one season-long points list to award 30 PGA Tour cards.

The No. 1 player on the final 2023 Korn Ferry Tour Points List will continue to earn an exemption into the Players Championship and the U.S. Open in 2024.

J.J. McCarthy second overall? + QB class red flags, Dak Prescott on the open market | Inside Coverage

Jason Fitz is joined by Senior NFL Reporters Charles Robinson and Jori Epstein to go behind the scenes on the latest rumors and news around the NFL. The trio start with takeaways from the NFL owner's meetings as Jori was on the ground in Orlando. The hosts discuss the fallout of the new kickoff rule (are rosters going to change because of it?), the two Christmas Day games and what the heck Jerry Jones was doodling in his notebook. Next, it's time to pull out the crystal ball as the hosts attempt to look into the future for some key quarterbacks, starting with Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy. McCarthy's draft stock has been skyrocketing lately as some rumors emerged that he could go as high as second overall. Charles gives his thoughts and what he's hearing from GMs around the league before moving onto Brock Purdy and whether San Francisco will be willing to pay him when the time comes. Charles dives deeper into the 2024 quarterback class and why every prospect has a massive red flag, and Jori gives us the latest on the Dak Prescott contract negotiations, which seem to be heading in the wrong direction. All signs are pointing towards Dak hitting free agency next offseason. Finally, Fitz wraps things up by asking about Deion Sanders' comments about choosing where his sons get drafted and whether or not player empowerment could be ascending to a new level with the emergence of NIL.

What to know about the 2023 Korn Ferry Tour Championship, the last at Victoria National

will korn go on tour in 2023

NEWBURGH, Ind. — This week will mark the final professional golf tournament at Victoria National for the foreseeable future.

The 2023 Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance returns to the Evansville area from Thursday to Sunday. It is the 12th year Victoria National has hosted an event on what is now the Korn Ferry Tour. Following a change in 2019, it is also the final stop on the tour's schedule.

In addition to it being the final year at Victoria, the tournament also has a new format. Here is what you need to know for this week's Korn Ferry Tour Championship.

Korn Ferry Tour: Championship will leave Victoria National Golf Club in 2024

Why is it the final tournament at Victoria National?

It was announced in February the tournament would relocate to Pete Dye Course in French Lick starting next year.

There has been a professional golf tournament at Victoria National since 2012. The first seven years were played in the spring or summer under the names United Leasing Championship (2012-15) and United Leasing & Finance Championship (2015-18). The Korn Ferry Tour moved its season-ending tournament to Victoria National the following year.

Dormie Network, the owner of Victoria National in Newburgh, exercised its ability to leave a 10-year contract in its fifth year. The event is locked in at French Lick through at least 2028. Dates won't be set until after this season.

"It just didn’t fit their model," United Leasing & Finance Executive Chairman Ron Romain said in February of Dormie Network's decision. "French Lick was on our radar from the get-go because we knew the caliber of golf course they had. It's important to me that we have some major sporting event (in Southwest Indiana)."

What is the tournament schedule?

The Korn Ferry Tour Championship is Thursday-Sunday. Tee times are scheduled for 7:30-9:45 a.m., split tees in groups of three, with tournament play over at approximately 3 p.m. each day.

The Pro-Ams were on Monday and Tuesday. The Tri-State Varsity Shootout involving area high school golfers was conducted Monday.

How can I watch or purchase tickets?

General admission tickets are available each day for $20 online or at the tournament . Hospitality passes are available through the Korn Ferry Tour Championship website. Children under age 17 are not required to have a ticket for general admission per the website but are required to have a ticket to enter a hospitality area.

Parking will be available at Friedman Park for a $5 donation. No passes or credentials are required.

The first round will have television coverage starting at 1 p.m. CDT via Golf Channel and Peacock. The second and third rounds start at 11 a.m. The final round has coverage on Peacock starting at 11 a.m. and Golf Channel at noon.

What is at stake?

Unlike previous seasons, the championship doesn't have a separate points list. The top 30 through the entire season will earn PGA Tour cards. A handful of spots were already clinched through the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship in Columbus, Ohio, two weeks ago.

The No. 1 player on the season-ending points list earns fully exempt PGA Tour status for the 2024 season and qualifies for the 2024 U.S. Open and The Players Championship. Ben Kohles is currently the top points leader at 1,795. Those ranked from No. 2-30 begin the season in a Korn Ferry Tour graduates category.

Those from 31-60 on the final list earn direct access to the final stage of PGA Tour Q-School. The remainder begin Q-School at the Second Stage unless otherwise exempt via an alternate category. All players who qualified for the Korn Ferry Tour Championship are fully exempt for the 2024 Korn Ferry Tour.

Players to Watch

The field will feature 73 players, as Grayson Murray and Nicholas Lindheim will not compete.

The top six on the Korn Ferry Tour Points List are scheduled to play: Kohles, Chan Kim, Rico Hoey, Ben Silverman, Alejandro Tosti and Pierceson Coody. The latter two are the highest-ranked players on the Official World Golf Rankings with Tosti at 100 and Coody at 106.

Those around the coveted top 30 mark include Chase Seiffert (28), Shad Tuten (29), Jackson Suber (30), Roger Sloan (31) and Wilson Fuff (32).

Five things to know: Alejandro Tosti

Need to Know

Change Text Size

HOUSTON – PGA TOUR rookie Alejandro Tosti has entered the chat.

The Argentina native earned a spot in Saturday’s final group at the Texas Children’s Houston Open alongside Tony Finau and Thomas Detry, as he seeks his first TOUR title in just his eighth start as a member.

This week has been different though. He opened in 66-67 at Houston’s beloved muni venue to hold second place into the weekend, two back of Finau.

Here are five things to know about Tosti.

1. He grew up riding the bus to the course

Tosti had an unconventional introduction to the game. His origins stem from his childhood home in Rosario, Argentina, playing with a charcoal stick and ping-pong ball; he and his brother would bet five cents to see who holed the ball into a backyard drain. Starting at age 8, he would often take a one-hour bus ride from Rosario to the nearest public course in Perez to practice on most weekdays; his father taught him the bus route, and his parents would walk him to and from the bus stop.

“That kid always dreamed on that bus ride to be able to have a chance to play on the PGA TOUR and now it’s a reality,” Tosti said. “It’s happening, so just enjoy it and try your best.”

From humble beginnings, Alejandro Tosti savors his PGA TOUR moments

2. He sees golf as art

Tosti isn’t afraid to get creative off the tee. Whether the hole plays for a draw, fade or straight ball, he readily accepts the challenge – or sometimes cooks up his own play. Hard hooks, spinny cuts and low lasers are all among his arsenal. He thrives in this area too; he entered this week ranked No. 7 on TOUR in Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee.

It’s no surprise that when asked Friday to name the strength of his game, he simply said “driver.”

“I just enjoy visualizing a shot and just stepping out there and execute it; it's the fun part of the game,” Tosti said Friday. “Since very young I was always that way. Grew up at a course that is very short and you have to work the ball both ways. It's the same here, but the courses are longer now.”

3. He’s a foodie

Tosti loves to cook and considers Argentine empanadas to be his specialty; he has been known to cook for host families at various stops in professional golf. He didn’t start cooking until he moved to the United States for college; now he enjoys cooking Argentinian meals, Asian food and using different spices to accentuate flavors.

“My descendancy is Italian and we’re big into cooking … I grew up going out to eat three to four times a year,” Tosti said. “We cook at a friend’s place, or everybody comes to your house or go to a family party; it’s always home cooking. I grew up with my mom fixing lunch every day and then my dad fixing dinner for every meal, so I got it from them.”

Tosti particularly enjoys his parents’ breaded chicken – “in the oven, just plain with some good salad or mashed potatoes” – and the aforementioned empanadas.

“I enjoy preparing my meals and enjoy exploring different types of kitchens, different spices,” he said.

4. He’s a fixer

Tosti appreciates his golf gift but doesn’t want the game to consume his life. He enjoys venturing outside the ropes and doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty, citing the influence of his dad, an electronic engineer.

“I’m not a golf fanatic,” Tosti said. “I’m a good player who takes the time to do the work, but once the work is done, I take off and I do a lot of things. I love cars; I try to modify my cars and change stuff in it myself and learn about it. I’m a fixer. I like taking apart stuff and figuring out what’s going on, at least try. My dad is an electronic engineer and I grew up seeing a lot of stuff being taken apart and fixed, so that’s something that I’m still learning.”

Case in point – Tosti recently found a blender about to be thrown out and took pride in fixing it.

“The last one was a blender that was next to the trash can,” he said. “I’m like, ‘Wow, this blender in the trash can.’ I took everything apart and that there was just one wire that was cut, and I put it together with a soldering iron and just worked out great.”

5. His accomplishments are far-reaching

Some might see Tosti’s name on a TOUR leaderboard as a surprise, but his game has been building toward this moment. He was a four-time winner at the University of Florida and earned first-team All-American honors as a junior in 2017; he was also medalist at the 2017 SEC Championships. After turning pro in 2018, he won on PGA TOUR Latinoamerica the next year and again in 2022, where he finished No. 5 on the season-long standings to earn Korn Ferry Tour membership.

Then he produced a banner 2023 Korn Ferry Tour season, winning the Pinnacle Bank Championship presented by Woodhouse – including a hole-out eagle on the final day – en route to a third-place finish on the season-long standings and his first PGA TOUR card.

Alejandro Tosti holes out for an eagle on No. 14 at Pinnacle Bank

His rookie season hadn’t gone as plan into Houston, but things are coming together.

“I was really sad at the beginning of the year not being able to kind of mentally engage with the game, not be connected, not getting the results that I wanted,” Tosti said Friday. “Made a couple changes coming into this week and they're working, so just going to keep it this way.”
