not impressed

Even less impressed with your reply! I travel Monday so will now not have the documents I so wanted - this is really not as expected and when I next travel I will look elsewhere for my insurance if this really is the best you can do! not impressed. I took up by calling as I had issues getting on line - asked specifically for a hard copy to be put in post. It did not arrive despite agent saying it would be sent - when I called to chase I was told it had never been ordered to be sent by post and the lady I spoke to had not organised this to happen - not

Delay in receiving printed copies of documents …

Despite requesting printed copies of my travel insurance documents on 29.01.2024 and again on 12.02.24, to date I have still not received them. I am hoping that my THIRD phone call today will result in them being sent out to me, as I do not have a printer, so am unable to print them out myself! This does NOT inspire confidence, if I am unlucky enough to need to make a claim!

Happy at the moment

Bought on the recommendation of the Martin Lewis website as a top end insurer. (The other was LV who we were with but they have tripled their prices in 3 years) ABTA offered wider limits and cover at less than we were paying LV 3 years ago and at 35% of what they quoted this year. Not traveled or claimed but I like the look of the online doctor app, which LV don’t offer. I would have given them 5 stars but some of the existing medical conditions questions were really vague which is disappointing when they can rely on the accuracy of my answers to either confirm or deny cover. Still, I’m happy at the moment.

Trusted travel company

Can't really comment on a service that I have not needed to make a claim on. However, I choose ABTA due the company being a recognised authority on travel. So many reviews on other companies that provide poor service when it comes to needing to make a claim. Hopefully, we won't need to make any claims , but we will have peace of mind with the policy we have chosen.

Effective quote at a good price. Didn't need to claim.

Pretty easy to get a quote. The form for collecting medical information worked very well for me. Very clear about what sports and activities are covered, and plenty is covered as stanard. Price seemed reasonable, although I haven't shopped around. No experience of making a claim, thankfully, so I can't give the full 5 stars.

Prices OK but website ambiguous.

Prices were reasonably competitive, but altering, authenticating or editing data, already entered, was sometimes ambiguous. When some responses needed to be adjusted or corrected, it was impossible to edit these and the form had to be started again from the beginning.

Website was easy to navigate

The website was simple and easy to use and because I have high blood pressure which is controlled there was a tick box section for that and the questions asked understood that if you had medical issues they were controlled by medication. The cost of a single trip was acceptable and put our mind at rest that we had more than adequate cover.

Comprehensive cover

really easy application process with comprehensive cover at a competitive price for a year of European travel. I have not yet started travelling therefore I've not had to make a claim so cannot comment on how ABTA would respond.

Late arrival of documents

I phoned asking for the policy to be sent to me when I took out the insurance and was told it would be 7 to 10 working days. I phoned twice more and was told it it was being processed and would be sent out in plenty of time for my holiday on 11/02/24 to 18/02/24 It never arrived until the day after I returned from holiday today being 19/02/24

Affordable cover

Having recently had to retake put beauty insurance for a number of days a year I looked at my options and ABT offered me the most appropriate cover again. Megan sorted me out in a professional and quick manner.

Sound recommendations all round.

Following a recommendation from Martyn Lewis, I decided to book my insurance with ABTA. Everything was so easy and straightforward. I am 87 and not that tech.savvy, so I appreciated this. online booking glitch refused my partner addition - cancelled the resulting error policy - rang to correct it - had to cancel, that part went OK - New police sorted with much formulaic stumbling through script, when 90% the answers were sitting there on the policy just cancelled... and now - my new policy hasn't arrived and all your emails are "do not reply"

Curtailment Cover

I was looking for a policy that covered for disruption of travel costs. Some others pretend to cover it by hiding it in 'curtailment' cover (not the same). ABTA answered my questions unambiguously - but at time of review I have yet to actually use the annual cover and hopefully won't need it!

A very straightforward application form, everything seemed open & honest, the real test would be if you sadly had to make a claim. Luckily that's not me. The paperwork was sent quickly with all contact points clearly identified. All things considered, I'm pleased I chose ABTA Travel insurance.

Refuse to send a copy to an addresss on the policy, despite: "If you wish to receive a printed copy of your documentation, please call " Weve got 2 families on the policy, one old and more comfortable with paper, living some 6 hours apart. What these guys aim to achieve by offering to do this and then not is quite beyond me.

It would be helpful if the medical section was pre-filled from the previous time when you sign in to your account so that you just have to amend it rather than start again.
