Who is Manchester United transfer target Aaron Anselmino, current club, position, release clause

Manchester United have been told what it would cost to sign highly-rated Argentine defender Aaron Anselmino, according to reports.

The centre-back position has been one, this campaign in particular, that has caused headaches for the Red Devils with a consistent stream of injury problems not allowing for consistency.

Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez have hardly had any time together this season to build on the relationship they forged last campaign due to the Argentine’s injury .

It has been reported by ESPN that there will be a wide-ranging clearout in the heart of the United defence this summer with only Martinez currently safe going into the next campaign and, as a result, new centre-backs will be targeted.

Anselmino targeted

Now, according to a report from Argentine outlet Planeta Boca Juniors , Aaron Anselmino, 18, has been the subject of interest from the Red Devils as well as Italian giants AC Milan.

These inquiries for the young defender came in the January transfer window so the Argentinian giants moved quickly to ensure the defender was on a new deal, with his new contract not expiring until 2028.

The new contract he signed with Boca included an increase to his salary and saw the release clause included in his current deal increase to £15 million.

The Argentine side recently lost Valentin Barco to Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton & Hove Albion for just $10 million and Boca were reportedly keen on not losing another talent for such a minimal fee.

However, this clause has now increased again to around £21 million which is certainly a steep sum of money for an 18-year-old defender.

There may well be risk attached to trying to get a deal like this done but these are the exact type of signings that the new regime have to make if we are to compete with Manchester City and Liverpool in the future.

Who is Aaron Anselmino

The Argentine teenager predominantly plays as a centre-back but has made just five first-team appearances for the Primera Division side so making a move for the 18-year-old may well be a risk.

However, he does fit the mold of what the Red Devils are believed to be looking at as he can play as a right-sided defender if Varane departs Old Trafford in the summer.

It’s about time the Red Devils, who are famed for their academy production , attempt to do what some of the other big clubs do and explore signing young players who can be purchased for a decent price.

Manchester United are expected to put forward an offer for the services of 18-year-old Argentine defender Aaron Anselmino.

According to a report by El Crack Deportivo , Manchester United have been linked with Aaron Anselmino and they are expected to put forward an offer for his services in the near future. The teenage defender has been doing wonders and his impressive performances haven’t gone unnoticed.

Anselmino has been at Boca Juniors for years. While he might not have been promoted to their first team yet, the 18-year-old is a part of their second team and his performances suggest he could soon make the jump to the senior team.

The Argentine centre-back has well over four years left on his deal but given the amount of interest in his services, he could be leaving his home country soon. Ezequiel Fernández is already subject to a lot of interest from across Europe. The 21-year-old midfielder has been doing wonders for Boca Juniors and top clubs want to sign him.

The Argentine club are well aware of this situation but they have also learned about the amount of interest in the services of Anselmino. Manchester United are the ones reportedly interested in the teenager’s services . The Red Devils are all set to undergo a massive rebuild, they are expected to focus on young players with huge potential.

The 18-year-old certainly seems to be a player of their interest. The Manchester-based club feel he could do wonders for them in the long run and are willing to invest in him. Defence has been a problem for the Red Devils and Anselmino’s potential suggests, he has it in him to be a special player.

People at the Argentine club are aware of it and they await an offer from the Red Devils’ end. Boca Juniors are well aware of the amount of interest in the teenager and have already shielded their player with a new deal that was penned down just a week back.

They have shielded him with a new deal that has a release clause worth more than $20 million and are ready to let him be a part of their first-team squad. If reports are true and United are preparing an offer they will have to ensure that is close to that exit clause to stand a chance to sign him in the winter.

Erik ten Hag and Manchester United are planning to revamp the club's defence in the summer, with plenty of turnover possible. After the club elected not to activate their option to extend his contract by a further year, Raphael Varane could leave as a free agent at the end of the season, as could 2023 signing Jonny Evans. Elsewhere, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof are up for sale if the Red Devils receive appropriate offers.

United are looking into some high-profile deals for possible successors like Bayern Munich's Matthijs de Ligt , Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite and Nice's Jean-Clair Todibo , but based on a recent report, they could also go after a hidden gem to form part of their long-term vision for their back four.

Man Utd in touch over Brighton-esque signing

According to Boca Juniors news outlet Planeta BJ, Manchester United have made contact over Aaron Anselmino . He's caught the eye of the Premier League club, as well as other top sides in Europe, with his exploits so far.

Boca recently tied Anselmino down to a new contract, one that includes a release clause worth just under £16m, but there's a provision in the deal that raises that sum beyond £20m for the final days of the transfer window. The goal may be to ensure that they don't lose the player so late that they can't replace him.

The Argentine club negotited these fresh terms on the back of losing left-back Valentin Barco to Brighton earlier this month. The Seagulls only had to pay £7.8m for his signature under an outdated clause, and Boca believed that fell well below his market value. Determined to avoid a repeat with Anselmino, they will insist on his new clause being met in full.

Anselmino's breakthrough at Boca

18-year-old Anselmino has made five first-team appearances for Boca so far and they will hope there are many more to come. He earned his full debut in the cup against Racing Club in October and kept his place for the next fixture against Estudiantes before featuring against Newell's Old Boys.

In the league, he played the whole second half of a 1-1 draw with Lanus in November, and then enjoyed a brief substitute outing versus Sarmiento. Having not made the matchday squad at all until that game against Lanus, he would be named on the bench for seven of his side's last eight fixtures overall, which may be a preview of an ascension to a much more significant role next season.

All confirmed Premier League done deals: January transfer window 2024

As mentioned above, Brighton have already signed a player from the Buenos Aires outfit this month, and this too would feel very much like a Seagulls-esque deal. In recent years, they've picked up players like Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo from South America and turned them into rising stars coveted by Liverpool and Chelsea.

While United's business model wouldn't revolve around selling Anselmino on for profit, it might be sensible to invest in talented players like him at source and save plenty of money further down the line, even if £20m might seem a little steep at first. Signed in tandem with a couple of the bigger names mentioned above, he could form part of an astute midfield rebuild at Old Trafford.

The manufacturer of nuclear fuel for all Russian nuclear icebreakers, as well as the Akademik Lomonosov FNPP, is Machinery Manufacturing Plant, Joint-Stock Company (MSZ JSC), a company of Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL that is based in Elektrostal, Moscow Region.

The FNPP includes two KLT-40S reactors of the icebreaking type. Unlike convenient ground-based large reactors (that require partial replacement of fuel rods once every 12-18 months), in the case of these reactors, the refueling takes place once every few years and includes unloading of the entire reactor core and loading of fresh fuel into the reactor.

The cores of KLT-40 reactors of the Akademik Lomonosov floating power unit have a number of advantages compared to the reference ones: a cassette core was used for the first time in the history of the unit, which made it possible to increase the fuel energy resource to 3-3.5 years between refuelings, and also reduce the fuel component of the electricity cost by one and a half times. The FNPP operating experience formed the basis for the designs of reactors for nuclear icebreakers of the newest series 22220. Three such icebreakers have been launched by now.

For the first time the power units of the Akademik Lomonosov floating nuclear power plant were connected to the grid in December 2019, and put into commercial operation in May 2020. The supply of nuclear fuel from Elektrostal to Pevek and its loading into the second reactor is planned for 2024. The total power of the Akademik Lomonosov FNPP, supplied to the coastal grid of Pevek without thermal energy consumption on shore, is about 76 MW, being about 44 MW in the maximum thermal power supply mode. The FNPP generated 194 million kWh according to the results of 2023. The population of Pevek is just a little more than 4 thousand, while the FNPP has a potential for supplying electricity to a city with a population of up to 100 thousand people. After the FNPP commissioning two goals were achieved. These include first of all the replacement of the retiring capacities of the Bilibino NPP, which has been operating since 1974, as well as the Chaunskaya TPP, which has already been operating for more than 70 years. Secondly, energy is supplied to the main mining companies in western Chukotka in the Chaun-Bilibino energy hub a large ore and metal cluster, including gold mining companies and projects related to the development of the Baimsk ore zone. In September 2023, a 110 kilovolt power transmission line with a length of 490 kilometers was put into operation, connecting the towns of Pevek and Bilibino. The line increased the reliability of energy supply from the FNPP to both Bilibino consumers and mining companies, the largest of which is the Baimsky GOK. The comprehensive development of the Russian Arctic is a national strategic priority. To increase the NSR traffic is of paramount importance for accomplishment of the tasks set in the field of cargo shipping. This logistics corridor is being developed due regular freight voyages, construction of new nuclear-powered icebreakers and modernization of the relevant infrastructure. Rosatom companies are actively involved in this work. Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL (Rosatom Fuel Division) includes companies fabricating nuclear fuel, converting and enriching uranium, manufacturing gas centrifuges, conducting researches and producing designs. ‘Total Disgrace’: Anger, Frustration as Mass Heating Failures Across Russia Leave Thousands in the Cold

P ODOLSK, Moscow region – Residents throughout Russia affected by unprecedented winter heating outages in recent days have expressed their frustration and urged local authorities to restore heating in their homes.

In Podolsk, a town some 30 kilometers south of the capital Moscow, at least 149,000 residents — nearly half of its population — were left without heating when a heating main burst at a nearby private ammunition plant.

“It’s a total disgrace. There is no heating and no hot water. We have to sleep in sleeping bags,” Yuri, a local resident, told The Moscow Times.

“I have no words to describe how bad the situation is," said Yuri, who declined to provide his surname. "We have had no heating for almost six days."

Heating issues have affected residents in the Moscow region, where temperatures have plunged to as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius in the past week, as well as people in the Far East Primorye region , the cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg , Penza , the southern Voronezh and Volgograd regions and more.

In the Tver region, a group of residents filmed an appeal to President Vladimir Putin, saying that they “are freezing from the cold” in the village of Novozavidovsky.

“We're literally being killed by the cold,” a woman in the video said, adding that they have been sending requests to local authorities since September after their houses were connected to a boiler room whose power was reportedly insufficient.

“This is some kind of torture and extermination of the population 100 kilometers from Moscow,” she added.

Residents of the Moscow region town of Elektrostal lit a fire in the street to draw the authorities’ attention to the heating problem.

“It’s impossible to stay in our houses. We're freezing!” a group of women in the video said.

Suffering from subzero temperatures, residents are placing the blame on local authorities and utility services for failing to take necessary precautions and not taking action to resolve the situation.

“We are sending complaints everywhere but no one listens to us. We have portable heaters working in every room, but the temperature inside is still 10 degrees Celsius,” Yelena from Podolsk said.

“There is a clinic and a hospital, as well as kindergartens, where there is no heating. And we have no answers, no assistance, no explanation,” Yelena added.

Podolsk authorities opened temporary heating centers and declared a state of emergency.

Local authorities linked the heating problems to the fact that the town is heated by a boiler plant owned by the Klimovsk Specialized Ammunition Plant, a private ammunition factory and one of the largest weapon cartridge production enterprises in the country.

“The facility is under tight security conditions, which limits our ability to oversee winter preparations,” the Moscow region’s Vice Governor Yevgeny Khromushin said last week. “We were unaware of the problem for nearly a day.”

An unidentified Moscow region official and two senior executives at the plant were arrested on suspicion of providing unsafe services, Russia’s Investigative Committee, which probes major crimes, said in a statement Tuesday.

Investigators said that Podolsk’s deputy mayor was accused of misusing authority by issuing a readiness certificate for the boiler house at the plant.

In the neighboring Tver region, the authorities opened a criminal case over the laundering of over 84 million rubles ($938,993) in heating bills paid by residents, the Astra Telegram channel reported this week, citing unidentified sources. According to investigators, the heads of the local water intake and boiler house misappropriated the heating payments for personal use.

Reacting to the heating failures, Putin on Tuesday asked Emergency Situations Minister Alexander Kurenkov to provide heat and electricity to the affected residents.

The outages appear to be the latest effect of several decades of crumbling infrastructure in Russia which have been linked to endemic corruption and mismanagement.

The overall decay of Russia's municipal infrastructure surpassed 70% in 2022, the pro-Kremlin newspaper Izvestia reported .

According to Sergei Pakhomov, head of the State Duma’s Construction, Housing and Utilities Committee, water pipes that were 90 years old or even older were still in use as recently as two years ago in some cases.

Housing, utilities and communal services are a common source of problems for Russians during the winter.

In St. Petersburg, residents regularly complain about extensive ice coverage on city streets and sidewalks, with many people ending up in the hospital over the years due to slipping and falling accidents.

In the Siberian republic of Khakassia, two villages were left without electricity last month due to apparent issues with outdated communication systems.

In the winter of 2020, five people in the Perm region were killed after a pipe burst.

When asked about the latest heating outages, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov acknowledged the problems and linked them to poor municipal infrastructure, saying that people “had to endure a lot of inconvenience in the cold and without electricity.”

"Despite all the titanic efforts to update all housing and communal services systems, there's still a certain part that remains considerably deteriorated. These programs will continue, but it is impossible to update all pipes and all housing and communal services systems in 10-15 years,” Peskov said.

As for now, residents affected by heating issues appear to lack optimism that the problems will be solved efficiently.

"It's been a week since we've had heating, and the temperature in my apartment is around 11 degrees Celsius,” Podolsk resident Lidiya told The Moscow Times.

“Unfortunately, no one knows when it will be repaired,” she added.
