Virtual Experiences
Published by frierhk on march 23, 2021 march 23, 2021.
Wellness Days #1 and #2 have come and gone, but there are three more to go. One thing I learned from my first two days off was that I didn’t have the time to dedicate an entire day to relaxation. If you have a lighter schedule, check out our previous post on Micro Spring Break Ideas . However, if you’re like me and only have a few hours to unwind, keep reading.
One of the perks that have come out of this pandemic is a lot of businesses moving to virtual operations. Instead of needing to take a trip to visit some of the wonders of the world, you can now do it from the comfort of your bed (bonus: it’s a lot cheaper this way, too).
Don’t get me wrong, experiencing a virtual roller coaster at Universal is nothing like feeling the wind in your hair or the stomach-drop while flying down a hill – but, it’s still amazing that you can get a snapshot of what a place may look like if you have a few minutes to spare. So here’s a list of some of the most interesting virtual experiences you can enjoy on Wellness Day #3.
The Best Virtual Tours If…
You want to stay local
Miami University Art Museum
Did you know there’s a Miami University Art Museum? This year, they made three of their five current exhibitions available to explore online, with others being added soon.
The Art Museum was built in 1978 on 3 acres of sculpture park grounds. They house 5 changing galleries at a time with a growing permanent collection of over 17,000 artworks. The Museum’s mission is to teach and engage in dialogue, maintain a strong collection, and celebrate global artistic/cultural diversity.
Bonus! If you want to see these exhibits in-person, they’re located at 801 S. Patterson Ave and open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. in Oxford, Ohio, and open for visitors with a reservation .

You want to go above and beyond

Eiffel Tower Tour
Experience what the view is like from the top of the Eiffel Tower without any lines. Afterward, you can learn about the complete history of the monument and dive into the particulars of each of the tower’s floors. Then take a quiz and test your knowledge!
You are an artist at heart
Met Museum of Art
Check out the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. They have 5,000 years of art history on display with exhibits including Goya’s graphic imagination, circulating textiles from 1933-1942, and George Baselitz.
You want to travel back in time
Great Wall of China
Visit one of the most famous attractions in the world, the Great Wall of China, that has a history of over 2,000 years. This wall is 3,000 miles across and was built as protection against nomadic invaders.
