Pegasus Airlines implements IATA Travel Pass

The airline completed a trial period using the app, and has become one of the first airlines worldwide to fully implement it on its international routes.

Turkey’s Pegasus Airlines has announced that it has implemented the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Travel Pass app on its international flight routes, following the completion of a successful trial period.

The pass enables travellers to digitally store and manage their health-related documents for international travel in a single place, including Covid-19 test results and vaccine certificates. In addition, the app is designed to offer an easy way to verify that they meet the Covid-19-related entry requirements for their destination country.

Documents are stored on the phone rather than being accessed through a central cloud-based database to offer greater security for users.

The app is available for download for both Android and iOS, but travellers cannot use it unless their airline is a participant in the initiative. Pegasus is one of the first airlines in the world, and the first in Turkey, to fully implement the app on its routes. Emirates has also been implementing the IATA Travel Pass on its routes.

Marketing itself as a low-cost carrier, it delivers competitively priced fares and streamlined amenities. In 2017 the carrier was crowned the Best Low-Cost Airline at the World Tourism Awards. Air Manas is a partially owned subsidiary that is based in Kyrgyzstan and focuses on the Central Asian region. Based on my many Pegasus Airlines flights, this is my Pegasus Airlines review along with details on Pegasus Airlines rating and information you need to know about flying with Pegasus Airlines.

I have flown with Pegasus Airlines from London to Tbilisi, Georgia with a layover in Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport and back totaling 4 flights and all 4 flights went really well.

From these flights, my Pegasus Airlines review was already positive and I knew I would fly with them again.

A few years later, I had a London to Turkey to Lebanon trip planned and Pegasus Airlines was able to fly me from London Stansted to Cappadocia via Istanbul, Cappadocia to Istanbul and Istanbul to Beirut !

So that was it, I was booked onto 4 Pegasus Airline flights within the space of 1 week.

Pegasus Airlines Stopover in Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport

If you have a long layover or even just a 2-hour wait in the airport at Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen I would recommend paying to use the ISG Lounge .

There is one in the Domestic Terminal and the International Terminal. They are exactly the same except the Domestic Lounge is a bit smaller.

There is no free WiFi in Sabiha Gokcen Airport so if you want WiFi you have to purchase some food and in most cases to the value of £4.40 or more to get a pin code.

Whereas you can go into the Lounge which has a really relaxed atmosphere, offers unlimited WiFi codes, unlimited drinks and food for just £7.60, Bargain!

Pegasus Airlines Check-In Process

Out of my 3 flight routes for some reason I could only check-in online for one of them, the rest I had to go to the counter for, this was fine for me as I had luggage that needed checking in any way so it didn’t take any extra time out of my day.

To my delight, my check-in process in London Stansted was so quick as there were only a few people in the line and plenty of staff on the desks.

When I did check-in online it was easy to navigate and the barcode got sent to me via text and email.

Friendliness of Staff

On all 4 of my flights, I found the staff to be really friendly to me and to the other passengers.

My last flight from Istanbul to Beirut turned into a bit of a comedy show at the end as passengers were standing up and getting their bags out before we had even stopped, we had literally just landed!

The staff were polite but firm in asking them to sit down and afterwards they still maintained their friendly approach to the rest of us as we left the flight which I had a lot of respect for.

Pegasus Airline Plane Quality

All 4 planes I boarded were clean and in good condition.

None of them were brand new planes but when I posted on my Facebook that I had flown to Istanbul with Pegasus Airlines, my friends over at The Common Wanderer said they flew from Bologna to Istanbul and then on to Dalaman and not only were they really happy with the service, they had a brand new plane!

Reliability of Pegasus Airlines

Unfortunately, all 4 of my flights were slightly delayed.

None of the flights were delayed too much and I felt that the flight time on my tickets were always longer than what the captain told us it would be when we were about to take off so we still got in on time or just after that time even though we were delayed.

I would just keep this in mind if you plan a pick up from the airport.

How to get the best flights??

I use Skyscanner to book all of my flights! I’m a huge fan of Skyscanner because I love how easy it is to compare different destinations and different dates for the best price and route!

For example, I type in ‘everywhere’ in the destination if I have fixed dates and want to find the best flights on those dates on Skyscanner .

And if I have a set destination I’ll look at the ‘month view’ to check the cheapest days to fly in that month!

My experience with Pegasus was really poor: a delay in the return flight (2,5 hous) was absolutely poorly handled, no reason given, at the booth the rude personel were not willing to give any contact information and on contacting them by E-mail to request a certificate for the delay, I got a ridiculous standard E-mail back. This company is 10 times worse than RyanAir, only fly with them if you are masochistic of nature.

I would NOT recommend, at all.

Here's my story...

Guys, be very careful before you book with Pegasus Airlines. Here's my story (so you can avoid being mugged off by them):

* We checked in for a flight on the 29th March to fly from Turkey to Georgia. There were zero issues and their staff didn't notify us that our bags were slightly over the limit.

* Our flight was cancelled.

* After 14 hours of waiting, we checked in for a second time (and their staff mentioned NOTHING about our bags being over the limit).

* Once we were through security, we were pulled aside and asked to pay 200 Lira for our bags being slightly over the weight limit. Naturally, I tried to refuse because we were not told about it. Had their staff told us we could have moved some items from our luggage to our hand luggage and avoided the mess.

* Alas, we were threatened in front of 100 people and told that if we did not pay, our luggage would be lost and we would not be allowed on the flight.

* It then turned out that the 200 Lira was actually 480 Lira (approx £40 pounds).

This is what PegasusAirlines does. They pretend like everything is OK and then they blackmail you into paying them extra.

Can you believe the cheek of it?

Two of their employees checked our luggage in with a smile - and then they had the audacity to inform us AFTER THE FACT that we were slightly over the weight limit.

For all we know, they could have been lying.

Oh, and to add insult to injury, one of our suit cases is now broken - AND they are refusing to refund the money.

DO NOT USE THIS AIRLINE. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!

I was planning to go to Turkey and I already booked my flight and hotel but I was wondering how good my airline was, I saw a few reviews but they weren't very clear how it was like until I randomly stumbled across your website without realising it was yours. Important notices

• Check your passport for any damage. Make sure that the passport book is not completely or partially detached from its container, and that the plastic sheet on the photo page is not separated or torn.

In the cabin, Pegasus Airlines allows cats, dogs, and household birds to travel with their owners. The combined weight of the pet and carrier should not exceed 17 lbs (8 kg). It's important to note that pets must be healthy, non-threatening, clean, and free of odor to qualify for travel in the cabin. There is a fee of 60 TRY for pets traveling in the cabin.

If the combined weight of the pet and carrier exceeds 17 lbs (8 kg), pets can be transported in the ventilated cargo compartment of the aircraft. Medium-sized pets weighing between 17-33 lbs (8-15 kg) are considered medium, while pets weighing over 33 lbs are considered large. Just like in the cabin, pets must meet the same health and cleanliness requirements. The fee for transporting medium pets as checked baggage is 120 TRY, while the fee for large pets is 180 TRY.

For both cabin and checked baggage travel, there are specific requirements for carriers. Carriers must not exceed 21" x 15" x 8" (55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm) in size. The carrier must have proper ventilation on three sides, be made of easily portable material, and have enough room for the animal to move around comfortably. It must also be clean, disinfected, and sterilized. In addition, carriers must have locks made of iron that are strong and secured.

It's important to note that Pegasus Airlines has certain restrictions and limitations on the types of pets allowed on their flights. Wild, predatory, and fighter dogs and birds are not permitted. Kangal dogs are only allowed until they are 6 months old. Additionally, specific breeds such as American Pit Bull, American Staffordshire Terrier, Boxer, Bulldog, Caucasian, Chow, Doberman, Dogo Argentinos, Fila Brazileiro, Japanese Tosa, Mastiff, Mastino Napoletano, Pit Bull Terrier, Presa Canario, and Rottweiler are not allowed to fly with Pegasus.

• If, in the opinion of the carrier, conditions make it inadvisable to operate charter service at any point in route, the carrier reserves the right to discontinue service and will not be held liable for damage for any reason whatsoever.
• Additional costs, such as meals, lodging and transportation will in this respect become the responsibility of the chartering party.
• Eating or drinking is not allowed in the coaches.
• Damage to seats, windows or other equipment or part of the coach, which is caused by any member of the chartering party, shall be the responsibility of the chartering party and the chartering party will pay the cost to repair any loss of service due to such damage.
• For security reasons, bathroom will be locked during trips less than 3 hours and on urban areas. Special needs and conditions should be reported in advance to the carrier.
• Refunds will not be issued for any malfunction of carrier ammenities such as microphones, VCR/DVD/CD Player or restrooms.
• Carrier reserves the right to refuse to transport any person or persons under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, or whose conduct is such as to make him/her objectionable to other passenger or the safe operation of the vehicle.
• Any payments over 30 days of final invoice will be charged 5% service fee. Any collection fees or charges due to late payment will be added to final invoice.
• The usage of our services implies in acceptance of all our terms and conditions.
• In case of disputes, this agreement will prevail upon any other signed contract.
