After 25 years, S Club is bringing it all back to the stage with their 'Good Times' tour
There ain't no party like an S Club party â and U.S. fans are about to find out once again.
The year was 1999 and seven British singers â consisting of Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh, Jo OâMeara, Rachel Steven, Hannah Spearritt and the late Paul Cattermole â were cruising in Miami, enjoying the beach life while performing choreographed moves and singing, â Donât stop, never give up/Hold your head high and reach the top/Let the world see what you have got, â from their debut single â Bring It All Back .â
If you were a â90s kid, S Club (then known as S Club 7) was the catchy and bubbly girl/guy group that not only filled the airwaves but your TV screen with their series âS Club 7 in Miami,â in which they played fictionalized versions of themselves.
âWeâve been going through a lot of old footage recently,â Lee, sitting next to Barrett, Lee, McIntosh, OâMeara and Stevens, tells TODAY.com via Zoom in England. âSo thatâs brought back loads of fond memories â some that have been forgotten, actually, in the back of my mind somewhere.â
The five singers are all in their pre-show attire, consisting of casual T-shirts and jeans, before they get glammed up in bright-colored leotards for the ladies and sequins for the guys.
"We've actually been wearing less clothes than we've ever worn, you know, but in a classy way. It's very glam," Barrett says, adding that Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez were their inspiration.
Lounging on velvet dark grey couches backstage ahead of their show, they will take the stage in just hours to perform their biggest hits to screaming fans. The nostalgia runs deep for the group and the early aughts.
Bringing it all back to the stage and their fans
Twenty-five years since they debuted, the five members reunited to celebrate their anniversary milestone with their âS Club: The Good Times Tour.â Theyâre also honoring their late group member Cattermole, who died of heart-related issues in April at the age 46, less than two months after they announced the reunion tour . Spearritt is not participating.
After releasing their debut album, âS Club,â in October 1999, their show continued to air on Fox Family (now Freeform) for four seasons until 2002. Four albums later, hit singles like âS Club Party,â âNaturalâ and âNever Had a Dream Come True,â which reached No. 10 on the U.S. Billboard Chart, along with various TV and film projects, they called it quits in 2003. S Club reunited in various capacities over the last two decades, but this was meant to be their full comeback.
âYou never really know,â Steven says about reuniting. âWe reunited in 2015, and then things bubbled up every now and again. But this being our 25th anniversary, we got an email from (group creator) Simon Fuller, and itâs all about timing, isnât it? Weâre all in that place where we were just really ready to come back ... Thereâs so much love, and that nostalgia for people I think is really important right now and it was the perfect time.â
A reunion tour was a year in the making â and filled with heartbreak
Planning for the 25th anniversary tour began in November 2022 while the official news was announced in February of this year. At the time, all seven original members were on board and only touring in Europe in October. They later announced dates in the U.S. and Canada, which have since been rescheduled for 2024.
On April 7, the group revealed Cattermoleâs death in a statement shared on their social media. A month later, the five members shared tearful memories of their âbrotherâ while announcing that Spearritt wasnât going to be joining the tour. They also renamed it âThe Good Times Tourâ in tribute to Cattermole, who sang âGood Timesâ on their third album.
The group shares â and as fans have seen on their social media â that thereâs a section of the show thatâs dedicated to Cattermole.
âItâs old footage and things like that, which is really emotional and a lot of fans have found it very emotional at the same time,â Lee says. âItâs a celebration of him rather than, itâs not doom and gloom.â
"Paul has been such a massive part in this tour in every single way." Rachel Stevens
Stevens adds that Cattermole has been âsuch a massive part in this tour in every single wayâ and that heâs always on their mind.
OâMeara remembers getting âquite emotionalâ during the opening night of the tour on Oct. 12 in Manchester, England.
âJust before we actually walked out to that crowd, because I think thatâs when it suddenly sort of hit all of us, like, âWow, thereâs a lot of people out there and theyâre still screaming out for S Club,ââ she says. âIt can get quite overwhelming sometimes, I think we just feel so lucky.â
These are the days weâll always remember
Aside from reminiscing on their early days and being back on stage, there's a new generation of S Clubers. The ladies are now mothers and are excited for their children to see them on stage.
"I'm really excited because this is gonna be the first time Roman is seeing me on stage with the band and on this scale," Barrett says of her 7-year-old son. "So he's really excited."
Stevens echoes the sentiments when it comes to her two daughters, Amelie, 12, and Minnie, 9. O'Meara is also mother to 15-year-old son Lenny. They brought out their kids to their Oct. 27 show in London.
Earlier this year, S Club released their first song in 20 years titled âThese Are The Daysâ in honor of Cattermole. Pretty soon, fans will get even more new music.
âThere will definitely be new music next year. We donât know what it is yet, but thatâs something weâve all talk about,â Lee teases, with Barrett adding, âAnd weâve always done TV stuff. So yeah, maybe a documentary, who knows.â
In the meantime, the singers are excited to come back to the U.S. âand connect with the American fans,â McIntosh says.
It's been a year of reflection and taking care of one's mental and physical health, they say. But above all else, they've enjoyed spending the family they've created.
âAs a group, I think we now are closer than weâve ever been. Before, it was our job, it was our life, but after 20 years you realize weâre connected together forever for the rest of our lives,â Lee says.
âThereâs only seven people in the world that know what itâs like to be in S Club 7 and weâre the guys. We always had that connection with each other and I think we sort of, now that weâre older, time has passed, we realized that we are this little family.â

This was announced 2 weeks ago. A little on this…And also Aqua is doing a Barbie World Tour in North America in November as well. It’s so crazy that S Club has never toured in US but did their TV show in Miami, LA & Hollywood. And 5ive & All Saints need to do a North America tour next!
A little *late* on this….
All Saints are so good. They are totally different from S Club 7. Their sound was much more mature since their first release. They have such a nice catalogue, I’d definitely go see them live if I could.

S Club – These Are The Days
S club 7 – s club party, s club – reach, s club – bring it all back, s club – don’t stop movin’, s club – never had a dream come true, s club – have you ever, s club – natural, s club – you’re my number one, s club – two in a million.
S Club Good Times Tour Setlist in Full 2023: Songs for concert at Manchester AO Arena
We all know there ain't no party like an S Club Party .
This month, S Club will celebrate 25 years in music by taking their biggest hits on the road. From debut Number 1 single Bring It All Back to disco delight Don't Stop Movin' , karaoke classic Reach and everything in between, Jo O'Meara, Bradley McIntosh, Rachel Stevens, Tina Barrett and Jon Lee are set to play sold-out arenas across the UK and Ireland on The Good Times Tour.
The group - currently a five-piece following the departure of Hannah Spearritt - explain that the tour will pay tribute to their late bandmate Paul Cattermole , who tragically died in March 2023 aged 46.
If you're heading along to one of the shows, check out everything you need to know below - from expected setlist inclusions to stage times and S Club's support act Now United.

S club's the good times tour setlist 2023: what songs will the band perform.
The group are yet to reveal their setlist ahead of The Good Times Tour's opening night at Manchester's AO Arena on October 12.
However, we have had some teasers.
We'll no doubt be expecting to see such hits as Never Had a Dream Come True , Natural and Two in a Million on tour, and we'd put money on the group's brand-new reunion single These Are The Days getting a spot on the setlist, too.
But which deep cuts will we be getting?
Speaking to exclusively to Official Charts recently, Jo and Bradley ruled out the prospect of a five-piece performance Sunshine album track Good Times, from which the tour takes its name, given Paul's prominent lead vocal. The pair cited that it simply 'wouldn't feel right.'
Speaking on setlist options, Jo explained: "The setlist is coming along well. We did put it out to the fans, asking what theyâd want to see, and weâve been inundated. Weâre going to be on stage for about eight hours [laughs]. Weâre trying to take on board everything the fans have asked for, compact it all in and all the hits will be in there too, of course."
Oh, and Bradley reckons Perfect Christmas should be on there. Brilliant.

On their 2015 reunion tour, each member performed a solo track; including a Sweet Dreams My LA Ex and Some Girls medley from Rachel Stevens. Could we expect the same this time around? Time will tell.

S Club's long-standing Musical Director Simon Ellis has once again worked with the group on arrangements for their 2023 tour. Also known for his work with Britney Spears , Spice Girls and Westlife , he's someone the band are excited to have on board.
Jo told us: "Heâs worked on all of our tours, so we already know the musicâs going to be sensational. Thatâs not even in question. It wouldnât have been the same doing a tour without Simon."
Bradley added: "With every tour weâve done, the well-known songs like Bring It All Back and S Club Party have been slightly amended each time. He knows what weâve done, what we havenât and where to take it next to keep things fresh."

S Club review â poignant posthumous tour is comfortingly nostalgic
AO Arena, Manchester Shadows from the recent death of Paul Cattermole are acknowledged but do not hamper the bright, bouncy fun
P op music rarely makes us think about mortality. But itâs something that hangs heavily over S Club tonight, the teenage pop group who came to prominence as S Club 7 on the 90s kids TV show Miami 7, who now return after the sudden death of member Paul Cattermole at 46 earlier this year.
With Hannah Spearritt leaving the group, S Club come back as five, stepping out in glittery bright outfits with each member in blue, red, yellow, pink and green â almost recalling the Power Rangers. Which feels apt, because this is very much a plunge back in time to the era of Saturday morning kids TV as pop phenomenon.
The opening S Club Party reminds us thereâs no party like an S Club party but itâs one thatâs feeling a little dated and tired. The choreographed dance moves are very old school and thereâs lots of gesturing, waving and blowing kisses to the audience, while it becomes clear the backing track they all sing on top of is going to be doing a hell of a lot of heavy lifting.
There are plenty of moments of bright, bubbly, bouncy fun; be it the 60s girl group swing of Youâre My Number One, the funk-pop of Bring the House Down, or the disco-indebted Donât Stop Movinâ â which acts as a potent reminder of its once inescapable ubiquity.
An extensive video tribute to Cattermole marks the halfway point as S Club return dressed in black. âWe miss you every single day,â says Bradley McIntosh, holding back tears, before they âbring it back for Paulâ via the school disco anthem Bring It All Back.
Production-wise, this isnât a blockbuster pop show. Thereâs a staircase the band walk up and down a bit, a sliding door they enter in and out of, and some fairly basic visuals and lights. Itâs not explosive, dynamic or unpredictable but familiar, safe, and reliable. But perhaps this is intentional. Existing to soothe and comfort, and to reinstate a feeling of vigour, hope and optimism after a period, for fans and members, of turbulence and loss.

S Club is coming to Toronto on their Good Times Tour as '90s revival persists
Latest Videos
With '90s dance parties now all the rage , NSYNC debuting on Hot Ones , Modrobes potentially making a comeback ,  and Nelly , Aqua , Creed , Blink-182  and others playing shows again, you may be asking what year we're in (or, rather, "what's my age again?").
For those eager to deny the harsh realities of 2023 and return to a simpler time when Pop Up Video reigned, and skirts were revoltingly worn over pants â another '00s style that is having a renaissance, by the way  â it's been a great few months.
Yet another hit band from our youth is about to make it even better with their unexpected but perhaps inevitable return.
S Club, formerly known as S Club 7 ( RIP Paul ), has announced a new world tour called the Good Times Tour, which promises to let us wax nostalgic about better days this fall.
View this post on Instagram A post shared by S Club (@sclub)
It's the first time the group will be bringing its party (to which no other party can compare, as we all know) to North America after a quick jaunt around the U.K. and Ireland.
After 15 shows across the pond, including three in London, the singers will be heading to the U.S., starting with a show in San Francisco on November 5. The final show, and only Canadian date, will be at Toronto's Meridian Hall on November 16.
For whatever reason, the concert's promotion has been fairly low-key, and there are still tons of tickets available starting at $74 plus taxes and fees.
Though they may be quite a lot older than we remember, Rachel, Jon, Tina, Jo and Bradley will surely be singing and dancing their hearts out to S Club Party, Bring It All Back and more 20+-year-old hits, making a must-see event for any diehard fans.
